Ron is an interesting and captivating professor. He makes fun of the text book, which is entertaining and quick to talk about subjects outside the curriculum. Our midterms were open book, and very hard. Prepare well, and you will do well, its not a hard course.
He is a great prof. Makes the course interesting and entertaining. The course goes on very fast, about 1 chapter per lecture and finishes off entire book around 2nd midterm. Open book exam but REALLY hard. There's also presentation.. If you do really hard and prepare it well, you can do good on this course.
Good prof, not fixated on textbook......keep on top of the material, organize your notes and resources for the uber-time crunched midterms. Final is easier than MT, same length, but double the time.
Man!! he doesn't even do any thing. He just takes the outline and posts it and then expects us to read it.
So far so good for ... he says that nothing will be on the exams that wasnt directly discussed in the lecture, ill take his word on it for now, but i have yet to do any exams
His lecture are a bit useless. He just goes over the figures in the textbooks and not anything else. Also during lectures he kinda goes all over the place. For example, one day he just randomly began talking about bulls. NOT the greatest prof. On another note, his application of biogenics is well done however the class was lost.
absolutely terrible teacher, has no clue what he is doing... puts up pictures and talks about them. Did not write notes down at all, the whole semester. He is an absolute FAIL of a prof, stay away from his course as much as possible. Trust me, this guy is useless.
HORRIBLE LECTURER! does not follow syllabus at all! avoid him like the plague.
Really bad prof.
two words guys...no notes!!!
Awesome teacher. Although he doesn't give any written notes, if u take notes in the lecture then you'll do really really well in the class...seriously...write down EVERYTHING he says
Good prof who knows what he is talking about. Didn't like him at first as his teaching method is different but you still get the same notes. You don't get lecture slides and you have to write EVERYTHING down but his lectures are recorded. If you put in a good amount of work, you will be fine.
I dunno why hes got such bad reviews, exams were VERY fair, and i stress VERY because they were open book, most lectures were interesting not boring, and he seems passionate about teaching students, also, questions on exams are strictly from lecture
At the beginning of the semester you'll want to kill him because he seems to just be repeating hiself and his notes are only pictures, bue he's real nice and very interested in the subject. His exams are open book and very easy as long as you listen to him in class (or his lecture recordings) and actually understand what he's trying to get across.
I personally struggled a lot, in this course; TA's were shiitty
Even though his lectures can get boring they basically give out the answers for the exams. his recordings are online which really helped me and exams are open book so you should know his lectures very well since he gives the exam based on his lectures, very fair class!
I highly recommend taking his courses! I can see how people would rate him lower because yes he does have a softer voice (that sometimes puts you to sleep) but he's eager for his students to learn and get good marks. His marking scheme is VERY fair, listen to all his lecture recordings before exams and you're golden! (dont bother with the textbook)
Stay away from this prof!! Seriously I did what everyone on this page said I went to lectures and copied down everything he said as well as listened to the online recordings and in the end he gives me a D. Also his lectures are so boring and useless just avoid him
Useless, him and the TA. First of all, no notes. Just random pictures for lectures. Second, his exams were over complicated that didn't match his teaching style in lectures. Third, he is very rude when approaching him with questions. His condescending attitude made it same like he didn't care about my education. Avoid him
Ron is very interested in behavioural ecology and it shows. He knows his stuff and is very good at explaining concepts clearly. The one issue I had was that he mentioned his dislike of exams more than once but, despite being open book, the midterm and final were both tough and too long. I would recommend taking this course but do not slack!
Ron is a great professor. He's interested in the material, he's clear, and he's very helpful!
I never took a class from him but happened to read one of his work (in Candolin and Wong 2012: Behavioural responses to a changing world, chapter 7). This chapter is among the poorest scientific work I have been reading. There is no information on the topic given and almost no citations to support his claims, besides his own work. Avoid.
Bad at giving lectures. He talks about things that aren't even related to what the week's lab is on/what chapter you're currently on in tutorials/labs. He's a nice guy, but his lectures are dry because they are all pictures/paintings and he just natters on about it. No notes in lecture, hard to listen even if you are at the front.
Just purely bad. His lectures are about his life story and nothing much more. I cant say much other than the fact that his profession aligns with putting students to sleep.
Slides are only comprised of graphics/charts - WRITE DOWN EVERYTHING HE SAYS otherwise you won't have any clue whats going on. His explanations were quick and often vague. All exams open book, but don't rely on that to help you pass (very little time to complete questions). Would NOT recommend him as a prof. Avoid at all costs.
Unclear, boring, and just straight awful. Its pathetic going to class because he doesnt teach you anything he just shows you pictures. All exams are open book (BEWARE) and they dont even begin to cover what is in class. I dont mind working hard for a class if I learnt something but with his class you will work hard and still learn nothing.
His lectures are very boring, the way he talks puts you to sleep. No words on the slides, even though it's open book it's still very hard. You need to prepare a lot. Midterm was easy final was rough.
Frequently talks about his life, physics, economics, sociology, history, and other things non-biology related. Lecture slides have nothing but blurry and illegible pictures from the textbook. Very monotoned. His exams are difficult and open book. Some questions in the final require you to use other skill than biology skills(e.g English literature)
The grading for Ron's tests were VERY subjective and if you had a complaint about how something was graded then he got very defensive and would argue with you. Lectures were very uninformative and worth skipping. Tests only accounted for 40% of our grade thank god because there was an average of about 50% for both the final and the midterm.
Open book exam was the hardest exam I've ever done in my life. His lectures contain no notes whatsoever, and is mostly composed of photos from the textbook. He rambles on about things that aren't important and are mostly off topic. Iclicker quizzes weekly on topics that you can't find the answer to from the textbook or lab. Biggest waste of time.
Boring Lecture... monotoned. iclicker sucks.
I love the way this prof works. Hes not asking you to memorize things like all other biology classes. He simply asks that you understand what's going on and use the correct VOCABULARY for the answers on the exam. These negative reviews are from people that show up to lecture expecting him to just give out answers. I don't go to lectures I have an A
No notes in his lectures so it took A LOT of time outside of class to self teach from the pictures he gave in his slides. Only gave is 2 hours for our final which was extremely long so ran out of time. Besides that he truly does want us to know the material rather than memorize it, so he was a good prof in that he cared about our learning
Ron doesn't believe in memorization but rather the understanding of concepts and the ability to find the specific info you need. I fell asleep every lecture but I took notes on his summarized notes of the textbook and printed some key figures he referred to a lot. With that and my computer which you are allowed to use for tests, I was set.
Lazy in "marking" exams. Tells his students he will look over our exam answers but lets the computer mark it with errors in what's really correct and what's really wrong. Difficult to get a hold of. However, I like the sound of his voice, he should really consider narrating a documentary or something.
Taken during COVID. Tests (allowed to use Google/notes) are based entirely on specific pre-recorded lectures (that you could watch anytime/at faster speeds). However, his lectures are just pictures from the textbook so reading the textbook to actually learn is a must! Labs are weekly assignments and takes around 2 hrs to do, and camera must be on.
He focusses more on the concept rather than memorizing terms., which was great. Weekly lab assignments, and zoom tutorials with participation marks. The exams were ridiculous though. Too many questions with paragraphs long descriptions and long equations for such a short time. Most of us had exam submitted automatically before we were done.
Not sure why there are so many negative reviews on here... yeah sure he doesnt explicitly write down what he is going to test on the lecture slides but he does say it all so as long as you pay attention and listen the exams are fairly easy. He is also extremely organized and has all of our lectures posted at the start of the semester which helped.
He isn't as bad as people say. I can tell that he simply wants his students to do good in this class.
class was made harder than it should be. Our first midterm average was a 49.8% and there's barely any help outside of lec. I'll give him this...he made our second midterm relatively easier because of the first average but its a huge time crunch. He tests the smallest details he mentions in lecture and lecture slides are all just picture. use tb :)
kinggggg i like his country accent. he was very sassy over email since our class handed in all our forest walks in late. slides are not very easy to follow without ron's narration. idk i like him he's a silly farmer man
Hes all over the place but isnt that bad. Labs suck they are mostly there so you can do hands on stuff but there is no point for even having a lab for this course. Exams are open book and mostly straight from the notes but he wants his answers in a specific way. Get the 2 projects done with asap (trust me) and out of the way.
He is a kind prof that genuinely cares about students' learning. If you pay attention in class and rewatch the lectures as needed, then you'll be okay.
he really isnt as bad as everyone says, literally write down what he says in lectures word by word and you can get a B or even an A, the test questions are straight out of the lecture notes! its easy once u realize that. Labs are literally pointless...
this man pranked us on our midterm. idk what the point was but he literally laughed in our faces because he pranked us.
His midterms were difficult but only because of the time crunch! If you listen to his lectures and write down most of what he says you`ll be fine. His midterms are open-book and all of those questions came from what he said in lecture!! There are two bigger projects, get them done early so you`re not stressed :)
Lectures can be interesting if you really listen to what he's saying instead of trying to take notes. Midterms were open book. They're not necessarily difficult, but not enough time is given. You can tell he wants students to succeed. He came in one day wearing all black because he was "mourning" how low the midterm average was lol.
An ok professor. The exams are really hard and I suggest not reading the textbook because he expects understanding of core concepts rather than memorization. The exams are open book but google WILL NOT help you. The questions are usually specific, and expect you to apply concepts straight from the lectures. His review lectures are useless.
Don't buy the textbook, don't go to lecture, don't study for exams. He has a very soothing and gentle voice, I use his recorded lectures to put myself to sleep every night.
On the finals he gives 100 questions in 120 minutes. then proceeds to give huge comprehension type questions. It takes a good 5 mins to understand the questions. Moreover you have to hand write the questions. I am surprised how this guy got approved to do this type of exam
His tests are literally ridiculous, and the averages are always so low (40-50%). One of the questions literally asked what boat Charles Darwin was on. Such a waste of time looking up the answer when the time is already so limited.
perfect proff honestly. he cares about students. people complain only because they have yet to take other hard courses. He explains materially pretty good. EVERYTHING HE SAYS IN LEC IS ON THE EXAMS. not joking, make a word by word transcript of what he says and honestly, easy B+ minimum. Course is hard because it needs to be regardless of the proff
I found this course with him pretty easy for my first year. Open book exams, recorded lectures and fairly easy questions. You must pay a lot of attention to his lectures though because that's exactly where he gets his exam questions from. He also marks weirdly. Overall not bad prof
His slides barely have any wordings, just full of pictures and diagrams from the textbook. So in lectures you have to quickly jot everything down. He tests things that are incredibly unreasonable and words the questions so confusingly. Exams are difficult, it is open book but you barely have time to finish, 1 minute per mark. I do not recommend.
Dr. Ydenberg's lectures are seemingly straight out of a documentary. I'm actually going to really miss him as a prof and hope to have him teach me again. He is truly passionate about what he does and loves when you are also passionate about what you're doing in his class. Very literal, very real.
Don't take this class with him. His lectures are random and ridiculous. Midterms are unfair due to time restraints. Open book exams but Google a enemy. Everything he says in lectures is on exams but he talks alot. Only the review lectures were good. Class avg extremely low and blamed us for being dumb. Final was ridiculous. Must put 30 hours a week
Lectures were disorganized and consisted of Ron spewing random facts at us for 50 minutes. No matter how much I studied the material, the exam results were always frustrating because the questions are very poorly written, focus on random parts of the concepts, and there is a major time crunch. I do not recommend.
Oddly soothing voice, would put me to sleep almost every class. Labs were easy but boring, lab exam was chill. 2 major assignments were easy. Midterms & final were weird. SUPER long questions, all open-book but weird questions. Class averages were in 40s to 50s, and he came to class dressed in all black to "mourn" how bad we did one day.
I think he should consider becoming a story teller or joining audible.
Tests are based on lectures, and nothing he says connects so it's hard to understand the material if you've never taken bio 11 or other bio courses. You have to end up teaching yourself the material again when you study, and even then it's still hard to understand since his lectures are just slides and textbook diagrams.
Lectures are horrible, don't make any sense. Nothing connects, he talks the whole lecture & expects you to know everything in lecture for the exams. You literally have to teach urself everything and it's very difficult because he doesn't provide any notes. His slides are just pictures from the textbook. DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS IF IT'S NOT REQUIRED.
The only thing this professor is good at is putting people in deep stupor. Very useful if you suffer from insomnia.
Bro he was so @ss. His lectures were all pictures; he didn't explain anything properly. Imma about to do a midterm and I don't what's on it. PLS PLS PLS take any other class thx.
His lectures are unclear, he has the QUIETEST voice. And he uses a microphone but nobody can hear him. He's extremely hard to understand and hear. Could put me to sleep. The tests are absolutely completely obscure. Random questions, hyper specific things he says in lecture. He seems sweet, but not a very good professor for my style of learning.
I think he's a great person, he's funny, but his midterms are impossible. Our class average was a 42%. Like a lot of people said, everything said in lecture is on the midterm, the questions are so obscure. Don't let open book trick you. Not enough time to do the midterm, all written (around 40 questions) in only 50 mins. Take with someone tbh.
Highly recommend for students apply LOP if you need course for high grade or for mandatory. Ron is a professional knowledge spreader but bad at teach. He mentioned his job is not for student to get a good grade, but his lecture is obscure. I suggested if you need BISC 101 and 102, apply LOP right now, do not hesitate.
Must write every word he says & when he says it to make it through the midterm & exam. 40% class average for midterm, given a minute per question due to it being open-book (50 minutes for 50 points). Do not ask him for help with assignments; he will be condescending & dismissive towards you. CAUTION: Pre-Meds should avoid this professor.
He is just not a good professor. He is too old and out of date with modern things. He has spread misinformation in the class. The assignments barely relate to the course material but are worth 15% each.
The tests were so obscure for the exams. The midterm class average was 42%. Midterm material was very highly specific/barely touched upon in lecture. 1 min/point, open-book didn't help at ALL. I went to Ron for help and he said he didn't care about my success in the course but his role was just to teach us biology. DO NOT TAKE COURSE IF NOT NEEDED!
make sure you rewatch every lecture he does and write down exactly what he says regardless of how obscure it might sound as it could show up on the midterm. the review lectures are the most important lectures, so make sure you took good and organized notes. overall pretty straightforward class, not a big deal if stuck with him
Ron is extremely knowledgeable, but I found it difficult to extract valuable information from the lectures. His midterm was difficult (I got a 50), but the assignments bumped the class average to a 73. If you have him as a prof I wouldn't say it's the end of the world, but definitely be prepared to put in the work and attend lecture.
Definitely a very good prof. Only one midterm for 102 and that too was based on the lectures (plus the final). As long as you attend lectures and write down literally everything he says you will be more than fine for his exams. Also, has assignments worth a good chunk so if you fail the midterm you will be fine and still pass the class.
Lectures are not engaging and at times, controversial. Take this class with a different prof if you can; there's no reason the midterm average should be 42% in a first year biology class. Dr Ydenberg's open-book exams test on very insignificant details from his slides, which are just diagrams copy and pasted from the text book, often repeating.
Absolutely amazing professor, very charming and extremely easy to get a hold of. You will easily be able to understand every single word from him during lecture, and don't worry about notes, you won't need them. As long as you listen during lectures and carefully analyze the pictures on the slides, you will become one of the top students in class.
dont take if you dont have to its a nightmare and waste of time and energy
Doesn't really teach and uses a slide full of pictures and no description.
Ron Ydenberg is truly one of the professors of all time. Very calming and soothing voice that could put even the most energetic kid to sleep. His lectures are definitely some of the lectures, so be sure to pay attention to them. Take notes off of the many picture slides he posts. Make sure to listen to what he says, but don't fall asleep doing so.
A professor who rests on his laurels and fits the stereotype of the prof who whips first years into shape lol. I like that he wants students to apply knowledge rather than pure memorization (open book exams), but some questions were poorly written/unnecessary. Make sure you write down EVERYTHING he says! It will be on the exam!
This prof does not know how to teach. His slides are only of pictures so they are not helpful. What he teaches in class is nothing on the midterm and final. Very hard class
Don't take classes with him, worst prof ever. He doesn't know how to teach and all his slides are pictures, his exams are ridiculous and so unfair. midterm average was a fail, studying is pointless if you don't have every word he says written down. You can use google on exams but he doesn't agree with googles answers so don't even bother.
Honestly, the class wasn't bad. The lecture exams only take up 30% of the grade and the rest are determined by lab and projects which saved my grade. If it was only based on exams I would've given this a 1. The lecture exams suck, write down everything and have them ready one one pdf to look up during exams (no google docs allowed). Easy to do well
Doesn't phrase questions in a clear manner and will often try trick questions on tests... lots of them. He says you don't need to know any of the material even though you will. curves grades. overall, it's not the best.
Terrible prof, avoid at all costs. Blames students for doing bad on the midterm, and says its not his fault when the average was 50% and the year before was 30%. He skips over important parts and his slides are all over the place, and only teaches with images. If you have him, good luck.
TIme to retire
He doesn't know how to teach. His lectures only have pictures. I would not recommend taking him as your prof for any bio course!
4e textbook goes into more depth than he goes into in lectures, Helpful to understand concepts. Personal textbook is copy paste of the lectures and a good study tool. Lectures are confusing but he records them so you can review later. Lectures include unhinged statements. I liked the grading distribution. 40% is participation and easy projects.
Horrible Prof should retire this ancient grandpa
This dude Doesn't teach. I genuinely believe he likes watching people fail his class. Probably gets his jollies off to it.
Doesn't teach, the material is not the most difficult but he somehow has made it the hardest class i have taken. Lectures are just photos with random things that he talks about which he usually proceeds to go on and say " this does not matter in the course" after 10 minutes of talking. Never clear on what he expects us to know or take away . AVOID
content is not hard, but he overcomplicates so many topics and wastes time by using pictures on his slide with no context. His slides are all over the place, and forgets to add things, and when he goes over something important for once, he skims over it and moves on. I would not recommend this prof if he is teaching, better to wait for someone else
Horrible prof and horrible class. I'm not even in this course but I've heard so many bad things. He doesn't teach properly just posts random things that aren't relevant to the actual course and his exams are poorly structured. I don't get why he is a prof when students are struggling so much. What happened.?
goal of this class is to beat the curve. never went to lectures, he talks about unimportant stuff for most of the lecture. try and get amazing grade for tutorial participation, lab assignments and the two other bigger assignments. This will put you at a solid B+. Go to all the labs as lab exam isnt too rough with Kevin Lam. His mt and final =brutal
Doesn't care about the class or students grade, he said he would curve it however nothing was curved regardless about the amount of students failing which he so claims "isn't his fault". No professor should be showing a chart of a grade average 40 more so percent, be proud of it and saying that it was the students issue not his.
It is what it is
do NOT take this class with ron if you have the option of taking it with someone else. anybody would be better than him. his classes are just him rambling on and on with very little useful information actually said. how do you know which information is useful? good question. you dont! horrible professer. im not sure why they havent fired him yet.
Not even over exaggerating when I say avoid at all costs! Didn't even learn anything
Worst prof i've ever had in my three years university experience, like he simply can't teach and doesn't know how teach, and he loves seeing his students getting low grades, i don't even know how sfu lets this kinda person teach!
Save yourself and never take a class with Ron. He doesn't care about the students at all and has impossible tests. He never even gave us the grades back for 3 of the most important things so there's no way to check if the grade given seems realistic.
Wasn't nearly as bad as I expected. I wouldn't call him a great prof by any means, like others have said his lectures aren't super useful since the slides are mostly pictures and he goes off topic pretty often, but I still found the material was not too difficult to learn. Midterm was difficult but was curved, and the final was fair in my opinion
This professor does not care about you and he voices it many times during the semester. He speaks in a condescending tone and constantly wants us to buy his textbook which is priced in USD?? He only wants the answers in tests to be in his words and it doesn't help that his lectures are only photos. Avoid at all costs!!
If you take his class, you do not need to buy his textbook just because he says so. Honestly, lectures were impossible to listen to but you still had to because he would sneak spoken info into the exams. The only good thing about this prof is his open book exams and lab instructors to make up for the material he does not teach.
He doesn't care about his students. You don't need to buy his textbook its useless. Exams were brutal and the average for both mid term and final was just above 50%. Avoid him at all costs
he is very stubborn with restricted answer key for his exams. exams are way too confusing and challenging
Lectures had little writing on slides and the only way to review was to write down what he said beside the slide or listen to his recordings which were awful to follow because he jumps from slide to slide in random order and put duplicates of the same slide in, no clue why. lectures sucked the life out of me. Make work assignments too, just AVOID!
Prof was often unhelpful during office hours, very vague lectures with only pictures as lecture slides, making it impossible to learn. On top of that, you needed a 67% to pass the course with a C- which is insane for a first year class. Half the class failed the first midterm and the class average ended up being a C+, take class with different prof
Pictures instead of words on slides. they have NOTHING to do with Biology. I never attended a single lecture because it's a waste of your time. He lets you use Google during exams. Don't be fooled, that doesn't help you. His questions are when was the author of this book we discussed once in class born. The textbook he uses is written by him.
If you have the option to choose between this lecturer and another, always pick the other. He doesn't include words on his lecture slides, makes you buy his books, which you will never use again for another class, and doesn't like to be questioned about his grading (I got yelled at for pointing out a mistake). Overall, he just needs to retire.”……

Dude is the most unprofessional prof I've ever met, not only do his lecture slides not have words on it... he posts the most random questions completely unrelated to biology in our exams... How is anyone even supposed to know that. Overall he was a lazy guy who should just retire now instead of suffocating more students.
Class Average for final was a 49%, if you were wondering if you should take this class take it with someone else. He has a bunch of unnecessary tasks throughout the course like a forest diary and a forest walk uncorrelated with the course content. Ron was extremely rude when I saw him in office hours despite nagging us to come for help. AVOID !!!
Does not care about his students. Midterm and final were absolute torture--hard to study for. Slides don't make sense and there's always the same few pictures and no text.
pay attention during class
His textbook is worth buying so you don't have to go to his lectures. Midterm and final were open-book (using google was allowed) but honestly, he doesn't accept most of the answers from google. Read the textbook since his lectures in person aren't the best. Make notes and LABS are REALLY helpful to help understand lecture material better.
Be prepared for your own doom. This prof gives so many unneccesary assignments and questions on the exam unrelated to the course. I cannot be happier giving this rating at this time.
Bro just simply doesn't teach like he cares but class was light asf
People misunderstand him, if you really pay attention to what he's saying you'll do well. If you have a short attention span, good luck
This class had so many unneccesary assignment and lecture so bad. I live far away and have language barrier they take mark off on the exams since I didn't use proper scientific language and I end up get below class average on exams.
Bro does not teach
Class average was a C+ despite me being at roughly a 75-77% in the course. Any other course that would be a B to B+ grade. Class had so many unnecessary assignments that took a lot of time and the midterm although worth only 10% had the most bs questions completely unrelated to course content. Avoid this prof at all costs.
He's super caring and nice, honestly the best guy ever to become a prof at SFU. All the exams are super easy because they're open book and the class assignments take you almost no time to finish...... SIKE, Let's just say if you're in this guys class everything I just mentioned will only happen in your dreams!
don't bother with this manssss. at some point buddies gotta get replaced cuz ain't no way bro still teaching with all these bad reviews and being 70 years old..... might as well Enjoy your retirement bud
To all the first years( or 2nd) thinking about this course in the fall, I would highly suggest you take it the semester after as this guy singlehandedly makes the course a pain to get through. Not only is there boring useless lectures with only pictures straight from google, he also DOES NOT TEACH!!!!
Dudes a pain in the ass, don't take this class with this guy. Take it with a better prof if you want your gpa saved.
horriible class, take with better prof
Office hours are not helpful. He asked me if I "even wanted to pass this course and that by the questions I was asking him, it looked like I was not putting enough time outside of class". Instead of answering my question he spent 20 mins telling me in a condescending tone that I haven't been doing my part to succeed. I left his office in tears.
I hope this guy retires asap. He takes very interesting material and makes it boring as all hell. Do not take his class if you can help it.
anything he says in lec can be on the exam, but theres recorded lecs! lec slides r just photos so be prepared to take lots of notes. overall, not the worst but also not great & listen to him when he says to complete your photo assignment early! exams have some random questions as well but not too hard just hard to complete within the given time.
The professor is nice and his lectures are okay, but the exams are extremely difficult. Even with cheat sheets allowed, the exams felt unfair and very stressful. I gave 1 star mostly because of his personality; otherwise, I would have rated lower.
I purposely hydroplaned on the highway hoping to not make it to his lectures.
this man will haunt you in your sleep and probably is the reason for sleep paralysis. he yaps about nonsense and expects you to understand every image he puts on his ppt, which is the entire slideshow, because he has no thoughts of his own.
The course material could be much more interesting if this guy wasn't the lecturer! The final exam was unfairly timed and almost everyone ran out of time. The lab exam was fairly easier but still poorly marked. With all due respect, I recommend Ron TO RETIRE for the sake of future students taking this course.
