Exceptional teacher, I would take any class I could from him. He is insightful and spiritual and I learn SO much every class. I DEFINITELY recommend him.

Learned so much each day and loved his teaching style. He gets to know the students. He will do anything to help you out - total stud.

He is an awesome guy and is passionate about the Book of Mormon. My only complaint were the difficult tests. But great class, you'll learn a lot and be interested.

Very knowledgable and teaches with the spirit. I liked everything but the tests. They had several of those A-I type multiple choice questions like: a)xxxx b )yyyy c)zzzz d)aaaa e)bbbb f)a,b,d g)a,b,d h)b,c i)b,d ....You get the point. The tests seemed to test how well you can take tests, not what you know.

Although I didn't always like taking quizzes every week, I learned a lot and loved the class. This is one professor who takes the time to get to know each student and take an interest in them individually. His knowledge of and love for the gospel is admirable. He has a powerful teaching style. Great teacher!

I took a Book of Mormon class from Brother B. He is an excellent teacher!!! He is the best I've ever had! He is very knowledgable, very interested in your understanding of his teachings. You would feel the Spirit so strong in his classes! I loved each class period.

Hands down one of the best book of mormon teachers you'll find!!! He teaches very effectively. He really cares about his students. A good grade is very doable.

Way cool. he really knows his stuff and makes sure that students learn the doctrines not random facts. I loved him and would recommend him to all. Best religion teacher I have had.

Brother B is a wonderful gospel teacher. His class was always fun and really enjoyable. He has a great sense of humor and wants all of his students to gain a stronger testimony. His class was easy, just show up and take an occasional quiz. Midterm was tough but final easier. Take Book of Mormon from him!!!

all in all he is friendly, but i pesonaly wasn't able to get much from the class, you have a quizz each week that is ambiguous and has annoying questions, and the lecture every day ended up being about morality somehow, it got old pretty fast

I started out not liking the class. The quizzes I thought were pointless, and there's a mountain of reading. But there is extra credit, and if you do the reading, the quizzes aren't bad. The tests are word for word the quizzes. He's a great teacher, very personable, he'd do anything for you, and he was very knowledgeable.

The best Book of Mormon teacher hands down. The quizzes aren't bad, he just wants you to learn as much as you can. He is very approachable, and willing to help you with anything. He was very interesting, and I learned so much from him! Take a class from him if you can!

Brother Bartholomew is a great teacher.This is definately a freshman class though geared toward getting guys out on the mish and staying away from temptation (not always the most applicable if you're married).I got pretty fed up with the weekly quizzes and I guarantee you'll fail every one you don't study like I did.Overall good class& good teacher

The best Book of Mormon teacher ever! I learned more out of his class than I have ever learned before and he is always very enthusiastic about everything he says. Not a hard class and he is always willing to help with any problems. Definitely take Book of Mormon from him!

AMAZING! Seriously. He cares about the students (not just the subject). He doesn't just teach random facts and such, he teaches doctrine. His stories are really good, and he's way funny. The tests/quizes aren't as bad as people say. Do the reading, get an A. And he tells you everything to study for the midterm and final. TAKE A CLASS FROM HIM!

The most amazing professor ever! He's not one of those religion teachers that spend all your class time just reading the book. He expects you to do that yourself. He shows you how to apply everything to your life. If you read the packet you get an A on the quizes plain and simple. The spirit is so strong and basically this class is life changing.

Brother Bartholomew really taught with the spirit, and he applied the Book of Mormon to things that I can relate to. Read the material for the quizzes, or you won't pass them, but if you do, you'll do well. His midterm and his final were very hard, but it's worth it to take his class. He is ready and willing to to help out with anything.

Loved him, always a great class to go to. Tests and quizzes aren't hard as long as you read the packet. As long as you read all of the notes sections of the chapters in the packet the quizzes were easy. Take this class for sure. I would take him again anytime.

Good man with a love of the gospel. Could, however, go a little too far with teaching, (i.e., like saying if you had sinned at all the previous week you shouldn't take the sacrament). Tests are all packet stuff; it's almost like the scriptures aren't needed for the class. Learned a lot in his lectures, though.

Even though he does show concern for his students he can somtimes get slightly annoying. Possibly people will disagree but whatever. Does not curve for the reason of "No Competition between students". But curves help everyone so i don't get that. Mid-term is hard and final is unknown. Sometimes acts like everyone in the class has an A but its a lie

Great teacher. If you want to be a better person and really learn to love the gospel, take a class from Bartholomew. It's easy if you do the reading and there is extra credit. The packet is amazing. And his teaching is fantastic. I love him!!!

Brother Bartholomew was AMAZING! Please take this class because it will do so much good for you! The tests arn't that bad at all. Just study the lesson manual. I have learned so much about the Book of Mormon and he is the nicest guy. Seriously best thing I ever did was take this class. Incredible teacher! Will never foget the things he taught me!

Lectures very inspired and spiritual. Only 1 midterm and a final. Both easy ONLY IF you basically copy every quote from the packet into your scriptures via post-its (both tests open scripture). Extra credit. He is VERY willing to help you out if you need it, very understanding. I'm definitely taking Rel 122 from him next semester!

Brother Bartholomew is literally the best teacher I have ever had. I want my sister to come to BYU just because I want her to take this class. He was everything I think a BOM teacher should be. I looked forward to this class everyday. You will not regret taking this class!

Perfect BOM class; learn a lot, semi-challenging (only in tests). Classes are amazing, he really knows how to uplift people! Really understanding and helpful and very genuine when he says he cares about his students. first midterm was a shocker though! study the packet A LOT more than you think.

Brother B is a good guy. He really does care about his students. Almost too much :) He is great, but I got sick of the class pretty quick. It was a lot like high school seminary, warm and fuzzy. If that's for you, take it. I wanted to dive in to the scriptures and learn a lot, but he focused mainly on personal stories. Good, but got boring.

Bro B is the best teacher I have ever had. He is one of the most sincere, humble people I have ever met, and he really does teach with the spirit. Every minute I ever missed of his class was a minute wasted. If you're really listening, you can feel the spirit every time you come to class. Plus, the class itself isn't too hard- just READ the packet.

The class itself is fairly interesting. He is a really good teacher. There is this packet which is A LOT of work but your learn a lot. It's seriously tons of work in this class and the tests are kinda hard... just dedicate your life to your packet.

Classes are very educational and spiritual. However there is an unreasonable amount of reading for a 2 credit class. I just couldn't keep up. Tests are very hard with a lot of material that was never covered. It is a great setting to learn if you don't care about your grade.

His exams are very challenging. Make sure you look things up in the scriptures as much as possible.

I loved his class. Incredibly spiritual man, really impressed me to be a better person every time I went to class. Extremely knowledgeable and helpful, taught me a TON about the gospel. Willing to stay after class and answer all of my questions. The tests were difficult, but if you do all the reading then I think an A is manageable. I recommend him

Best religion professor on the face of the planet! There is no way on earth he "bashes guys" and "worships girls." I got an A in this class, all you need to do is a quick review of the questions in the packet before each quiz, and a thorough review of the packet the days before the midterm and final. I want to take all of my rel credits from him!

GREAT GUY: really understanding, sticks to the gospel, has enthusiasm and cares a lot about each student. The quizzes and tests were pretty easy, just keep up on the reading. Class wasn't boring at all. Any question you ask he's got an answer for and will answer ANY question. And he realizes we have a life outside of religion classes. BEST PROF!

Great class! I've never liked religion classes, they just seem useless to me, but Bro B really got me interested and helped me like the class. Great teacher, and I'll take any Religion class from him that I can.

One of the warmest, most down-to-earth people I know. Bears his testimony every chance he gets. Sticks to the doctrine, and only tells you what he knows without personal opinions. A lot of what he teaches you'll respond by thinking "I've never heard that before," but he has sources to back up everything he says and he explains everything so simply.

Had him for Book of Mormon 121 and 122. Worth getting up for class at 8 am. Learned a lot from both. Heavy reading, esp. in 122, a bit redundant, but necessary to do well in his class. Sometimes he'd take the lesson in a totally different direction than what was actually in the scriptures (but still very good). The best, hands down.

Brother B. Is the coolest teacher ever! you learn so much from him. He is THE MAN! hands down if you have a chance take his class you will not just enjoy it but learn a lot and love it. Great chance to get a spiritual boost during the week!

Brother Bartholomew is an excellent teacher, he takes time to know the individual which really makes this class a pleasure. Lecture isn't necessary, but very interesting he teaches strongly with the spirit and really knows the scriptures. The class was enjoyable and easy to get a good grade in. I took two classes with Bartholomew both were great!

Changed my life. Powerful, POWERFUL teacher. Not only do you study the doctrine hard core in class, but I have never had a teacher work so hard at apply it to our lives. This class changed my life. Amazing teacher! He knows a lot of doctrine and teaches with the spirit, which makes class so good. There are quizes every week but, just 5 questions, and if you read the packet they are easy. One application paper which is easy and the tests are pretty much like the quizes. Awesome teacher I love him!

Bro Bartholomew was an awesome teacher. I learned so much from him this semester. There is an online quiz every week, 5 questions. One application paper. One midterm-it was harder than I expected but not that bad. Both midterm and final are open book so take notes in class. Amazing teacher!

He already loves you... So amazing. Read the packet!!! The quizzes online each week are closed book but not too hard... The midterm and final are very doable if you just keep up with the class. His lectures are from the scriptures and the quizzes are not, which is unfortunate but I highly recommend this class. Testimony = large afterward.

Bro. Bartholomew is an amazing man and a wonderful professor. He knows everyone's name the first day and is genuinely concerned about his students. His lectures are truly powerful and he bears his testimony often. Life changing course.

Brother Bartholomew is fantastic!! He's a very spiritual teacher and very engaging. His greatest strength is his ability to apply the ancient scriptures to our day! He's AWESOME at real-life application. Low workload class but difficult tests. I highly recommend his class!

I took him for New Testament and he is the best religion professor I have ever had! He cares so much about his students and about their lives! He's not just there to teach the material, but to teach the students and that is a refreshing change. I learned so much. IF YOU CAN TAKE A CLASS FROM HIM THEN DO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wanted a religion class that would make me learn a ton, without making me hate it for how hard it was; and this class was perfect. It was a lot of reading, but the learning was well worth it. His tests are HARD! However he is amazingingly spiritual and inspired, plus he has lots of funny anechdotes : ) He's always available for help.

He is a really good teacher.The ONLY religion teacher that I have had that didn't teach his own doctrine. He was really careful about only talking about things that are doctrine. His class is easy! All you have to do is read the packet and you're good.

Brother Bartholomew is such a knowledgeable man. He is by far my favorite professor at BYU. I learned more about the gospel in his class than I have anywhere else. My testimony has been strengthened immensely. He teaches from the scriptures/words of the prophets and can answer any of your questions using them. He's always willing to help.

You can tell that he really knows the things he is teaching are true and I love that he doesn't teach mormon myths. I loved going to class and every time I left I always felt determined to be better. I would definitely take his class again.

Incredible man with LOTS of concern for his students. Loves questions and creates a vibrant teaching environment. Tests are challenging but feasible to get an A. Only drawback to his class is hours of reading every day. Two hours/day if you are VERY fast. If you have time/interest to read, go for it. If not, maybe try another professor :)

For me it was about an hour of reading for each class. And the reading was far more interesting than any other class. Know what's in the packet and how to find stuff in your scriptures you'll do fine on the tests. Grade is on 3 tests, 1 paper(2000 words), and attendance. His class is mind blowingly good.

I really enjoyed this class. I took it spring semester so it moved pretty fast and there was a lot of reading required but the tests weren't too difficult. Unlike most religion courses the test questions aren't made to confuse you. His lectures are great and I learned a lot from him. He is by far the best religion professor I have had at BYU.

His was my favorite religion class since I've come to BYU. I used my scriptures every lecture, and he has amazing insights. I learned so much during his class, I definitely recommend him!

THE BEST PROFESSOR I EVER HAD!!! He is amazing! I don't know what he does for his Book of Mormon class, but his New Testament class is out of this world! Its not easy, but definitely worth it. I don't know why someone said his doctrine is not sound. He knows more than any professor I've ever had. And he teaches with the Spirit.

Brother Bartholomew is a great professor! I had a rough time during the semester, but I never missed his class. It was the only one I truly looked forward too. I strongly recommend attendance, reading not only the scriptures, but also read the packet!! The packet reading is not only for test, but for your attendance points too.

Brother Bartholomew is great. on the second day of class, the first thing he did was went around the room and said everyones name from memory. our class probably had 50 students in it. Very passionate about what he teaching. His assignments arent busy work, rather things that will make you grow spiritually. best religion teacher ive had.

Brother Bartholomew was an excellent teacher. You really feel the spirit in his class and I always left feeling excited about the gospel. His tests were open book (Book of Mormon) and kinda hard. The application paper he assigns is 2000 word requirement and if you write 2000 words it is an automatic 100% and that was extremely nice!

He is THE best professor. I struggle with religion classes as I am not very accustomed with the scriptures, but he explains things very clearly. He is truly concerned about his students! Someone said he seems fake. He isn't, if you go to him with any concerns you have, of any kind, he will try to help.

AMAZING. He's SO personal! He knew my name in the hallway before the first class. His knowledge of the gospel will leave your jaw open after class, wanting to change the world. If you have a chance to take a class from him, DO IT. Trust me, you'll thank me later.

Loved this professor. It was no doubt the best class I've ever taken in my life. Every week he taught me things about the gospel I had never known and answered questions I had had since my mission. Every week we had about thirty people attend his lectures, though there were only 8 people enrolled, because of how awesome his lectures are.

Just take any class from him. Seriously. You will not regret it. Basically, I want to take all religion classes from him. I learned SO much! He really knows his stuff. The spirit is there every class. He is really good at answering questions and making you feel loved. He said hi to me BY MY NAME in the hall before I had even met him! AMAZING.

I took this Pearl of Great Price class a few semesters ago. He is an incredible professor. I learned so much. He's incredibly knowledgeable and can recall historical facts and dates. I loved his lectures. He complimented my writing. His tests are open book. His test are incredibly difficult. This class changed me.

He changed my life for the better, and it was the best religion class I ever took.

Doesn't do much as a professor, but does respond quickly to emails and discussions. I took this online and it had a ton of busy work, but I loved all the information I was learning.
