What a tool

Provides examples that make people feel uncomfortable, singles minorities in the class out and uses them for examples that are unnecessary.
Rude, unapproachable, borderline predjudice. Singles out student especially minorities; highly advise all the ladies to sit in the back row or be ready to be touched for no explainable reason several times a class period.
Guy is an absolute ****. Wouldn't wish this class upon anyone, has been teaching way too long. Cocky, lecure based quizes that are designed to trick rather than teach. Horrible.

This guy is bigtime ****. He has vowed to flunk his students, especially minorities. Rude, inconsiderate and very unapproachable. Never take his. NEVER.
If you go to every class and study the notes, you'll get an easy A. Sit in the back & NEVER come in late. Lots of examples, had him a couple of semesters ago and didn't feel like he was singling anyone out unnecessarily.
Awful class. Boring and rude guy. Wouldn't advise taking a class with him. Hard to do good even if your smart.

i saw this guy make a girl cry about extra credit...scary, huh? He's rude, goes off on a tangent, and probably hates the entire human race. Another prize at CMU.
Why doesn't everyone call 1-800-WAH-WAHWAH! This class is easy and although his vocal habits are somewhat annoying and he does use ppl in the front as examples constantly you all need to lay off. Take the class, it's not that bad.
Gives small tests every other week. Supposedly tests are right out of notes-but lectures are unclear. Doesn't explain very well. Very hard to follow.

This is the worst grade I ever got at college. He is arrogant, rude, argumentative, and just a total jerk. The tests are difficult even when you study. Trick questions are his specialty. If you find his heart, please return it to him. AVOID!!

Complete dickhead. Doesnt matter if you read the book for quizzes or not, and his notes do very little to help you. Im a 3.8 student and I got a D+ in this class, NO MATTER WHAT DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS

Do not take any of his classes. He is rude, disrespectful, and will shoot you down if you answer a question in class. Also, if you come in even 2 minutes late he stops class and asks why you are late and makes a huge deal about it His tests are horrible and do not have to do with book. AVOID!!
I think poor ratings for this class are a direct result of what you have put into it. He's always on time, so yeah, you should be too. how hard can it be? Exams are predictable..an easy A if you bother to show up and put a bit of effort into it.

He's not bad, you cant expect much from a management class. He's definately not the easiest teacher i have ever had, but he's not hard. explains things well. not much reading or busy work, which is nice.
I actually thought he was hilarious. Tests are mostly based on class notes. Don't sit in the front or he might get chalk on you. Plus, a 90% is an A.
Well he was a hard a**. Let's just say dont ever come late to class or leave during class because he makes a big deal about it. . . a little embarrassing. Tests were kinda hard but class was fun to go to, he made it enjoyable, oh yea he would take attendence periodically as sort of extra credit but I dunno if it helped much.
Horrible teacher, he doesn't know how to interpret the text and relate the material to the tests. Tests are over 50 percent true/false, which goes to show he doesn't care about student comprehension. Grading is only based on Tests.

Agggggh!!! This man is evil. If you walk in 10 minutes late, even if you're usually on time, he will stop class and stare at you, and then make some smart ass comment. Same thing goes for the bathroom. All points based on tests. Way too many true/false questions. I thought I would like this class, but he made it suck so much. Don't take him!
This guy is the worst prof. ever. Listen to the people who say stay away. I didnt, now I am re-taking the class this summer. I actually bought his book, studied, and took great notes. None of the above helped me answere his trick questions. This man has it in for everyone. He is a **** and I think he enjoys making people feel bad. STAY AWAY!!!!!!
i didn't like how he spent the whole class period discussing his examples which we could have understood in one sentence and moved on covering the test material. it's like the friend who takes an hour to tell you the story that could have been reduced to one sentence.
he's a nice guy but this class is so hard. i never miss class, take notes and pay attention and ive got a 73%. tests are based on veery specific things, not what he talks about the entire class period. i'd would avoid if possible.
Class grades do not reflect what he is teaching. The tests are based off of very specific questions from the text and it's a guessing game to figure out what will be on them. No matter how much you study, you basically have to cross your fingers that you will know the questions. He will make a scene if you need to leave for any reason during class
he makes the material fairly interesting, but he's kind of an ass...wont let you leave class for any reason. the tests aren't too bad, they're based mostly on what he talks about in class, so taking good notes and paying attention are really important

geez, what a pompous prick, takes too long to explain things, exams are extremely particular, as in, if you didn't study this crap for many many hours, you will likely barely pass the exams. Unfair...of course don't have too much choice for mgt312, either this guy or the other guy, who isn't great either, it's like choosing which hell to go to!

This man is by far the worst professor I have ever encountered. He makes a scene when you go to the bathroom during his class. "Get a life buddy!" I have a 3.4 GPA, attended all of his lectures, read the necessary chapters and still did not do well. I have NEVER had to drop a class before this. Miserable human being. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
Basically the worst teacher I have ever had. He yelled when people needed to leave class for any reason, when people were late he kicked them out (and I'm talking like 5 minutes late), interrupts people when they raise their hand to make a comment. Just a jerk. Also, there is no way to study for his test. I'm an A-B student, but got a C-.
This guy is really really hard. All the comments about him are true, but he is kind of funny. The exam questions are really difficult to understand, but after a few of the exams, you get used to it. Don't rule him out..
Dr. Beaulieu is a great guy. His exams are not hard if you pay attention and read the chapters. He dosn't like late students, but we are in college. Any one who dosn't do well can only blame themselves.
Don't be late. Ever. Overall, he is a pretty nice guy, but I felt like his exam questions were vague at times. Attend class for extra credit points-you would be ok with him, but you may want to consider other options
Good Teacher!! I really like him. I have this class at 9:30 am and don't want to fall asleep. Makes material interesting. DON'T BE LATE EVER!! He will get mad!! Also don't talk or fall asleep in class he will call you out! But really its all common courtesy. Take him :)
It's good that he is consistant! I took his HR class in the late 80's. I was disappointed at my grade but had to come back and let him know I got my Master's in HR with a 3.9/4.0 I earned my grade because I wasn't serious at the time. His sarcasm can be funny/ frustrating all the same time. Just know grades are not the only indication of learning.
What happens is is he is the worst teacher ever. He does not know how to speak proper english, he does not explain what will be on the test. Really bad teacher.
Somehow, he makes the dull subject interesting. He uses about 15 examples per class which helps put things in perspective. Tests are decently hard, he pulls out random questions u'd never expect to see. If you study for 90 mins for exams expect a C- grade. Dont sit in the front row if you dont want to be used for his examples, and do not be late!
A fairly interesting class...i think his lectures are alright, he tries hard to make his topics interesting! Tests are pretty difficult, however. It seemed like no matter how much i studied it didn't really help...
HARD class. It took me a while to figure out how to study, but pretty much memorize the notes you take in class, and know the defenitions from the chapters. I'd reccomend taking another prof if you can.
Most things said on here so far are true. He does explain things really well, is hilarious, and makes it interesting. He is a jerk if you try to use the bathroom or are late or anything and it gets annoying. Tests are really confusing, not impossible, but definitely harder than they should be. Thinks very highly of himself and lets you know it.
Upside: MGT isn't one of the most exciting subjects but it turned out to be one of the most interesting classes I've taken. He is a talented professor. He knows a lot about his subject matter and makes it more interesting than thought possible. Probably the best TEACHER I've had at CMU. DOWNSIDE: He's strict and exam's are a bit hard.
I took his class during a 6 week summer course. for 3 weeks he called me by the wrong name in most of his examples everyday. He grades his test hard and marked everyone wrong on a T or F question that asked "given enough time and resources, groups make better decisions than individuals" he said it was wrong because it didnt say "average individual"
This teacher was horribly unclear as to what material he actually wanted you to learn from his lectures and out of the book. His quizes were hard in the sense that, students have no idea what to study. He is completely unapproachable, and can be seen as having a rude attitude towards students.All in all I would suggest against taking his class.

Very good teacher in my opinion, but doesn't provide students with good study material. All you have is the notes and the book, but book use is low. Not a lot of questions on tests from the book. If you go to class, pay attention and take good notes, studying for the tests shouldn't be troublesome.
I went to every class, took ever note he had, and studied for every exam and still didn't do that well in his class. I didn't know how to study for tests that were every other Thursday. Hard to pay attention in class. Try to avoid!

Stay away from this class!!! He's an overall good guy. But really doesn't give a care about anyones grades or anyone in general other than himself. He literally is one of those teachers who "tries" to trick you on quizzes and exams. Looking over some of his questions on the quizzes when you're studying for the exam will make you realize this too!
I dont even know where to start with Ron. He thinks very highly of himself and talks down to his students. Most of his "real world" examples are more about how much money he has or his personal endeavors than the actual material. Tests are hard to study for and full of trick questions. He will cause a scene if you are late or fall asleep. STAY AWAY
Lectures are interesting and definitely keeps you awake. If you don't want him to get up close and personal in class avoid the first row at all costs. Tests every other Thursday that are quite difficult and pretty vague. If you go to class you get a lot of extra credit which helps a lot. Overall, good guy.
I do not even know where to begin. He is a horrible teacher. DO NOT take this class if you are a bad test taker, for the ONLY grades you get from this course are those related to the quizzes you take throughout the semester (which are very difficult and almost impossible to pass). I think he likes to fail people just for the hell of it.

There's no point in going to class or buying the book because he doesn't teach, he just says "What is is" and talks about his life the entire time...nothing relevant to the class, ever. Has told our class he didn't even want to teach MGT 258, which is obvious from the remarks on here. Bashes CMU and other staff/past presidents. Thinks very highly of himself. Gives extra points to people who sit in the front row. Tests are impossible. The final cannot hurt your grade, but you better take it and hope you're doing well before hand.
