ok...
good prof but: 5 min lectures, rarely showed up,need to teach yourself to keep up
No Comments
I would agree with the fact that you need to do some work on your own, but is probably one of the best teachers I've had at Lowell.
Great teacher, very helpful. As long as you do the homework you're home free. May need some extra help at the tutoring center. I got an AB and I feel it was one of my favorite classes.
Overall the material isn't too difficult, but Brent makes it harder because he never showed up for my classes. At times I feel he is unproffesional...I paid for proffesional.
Agree with previous comments - one of the best math teachers at UML - he only teaches you what is important, no nonsense.
Great professor. He's clear, even if the material isn't. Gives practice exams to make things easier.
He is the coolest professor ever! He gets straight to the point and doesn't beat around the bush. You have to do work and pay attention in class, but he is a very fun professor. He's kind of quick so PAY ATTENTION!!! . . . and have fun, he's great!
Great Calculus teacher. If you apply yourself you will excell. He is easy to understand. Semi fast paced class. Fun environment.
definitely recommended, out of all the math teachers i've had here. funny, cancells class sometimes and is fair.
best guy for calc 2. clearly explains everything you need to know, nothing you don't, also explains the stuff you didn't learn in calc 1. gives quizzes every other day. fun classes, sometimes will cancel, usually lets you go early.
Tries too hard to be one of us...Needs to remember he is a geriatric hippy (say Sr Citizen Discount!). Never puts in a full day, always leaves early or cancels class. Take him if you don't really want to learn anything. You'll end up with a good grade
He's really...really good. This's all I can say.
He is fantastic. Very clear on what will be tested and not. He posts his lectures online, so if you miss a day you can catch up. You need to do your hmwk though, and go to resitation. Thats all it takes.
Excellent teacher! By far the best math professor in the school. Very clear explanations and great practice exams.
good teacher
Awesome prof.
Good teacher, just sit and listen too lectures gives hints to what is on test. do homework and practice tests

He's funny
Nice guy and really funny. I don't like the order that the concepts are taught, and that makes it difficult to grasp.
The lectures are crazy fast and confusing but the recitation clears everything up. IF you do the homework and go to recitation you can probably skip class and do just as good. ;) good guy though!
his online notes are great and practice tests are very straight forward. Studying nothing but the practice tests should get you a b in the course.
great guy, lectures kinda useless. Do all homework and go over practice test and dont get caught playing with your wang
Mr. Calculus
HATE this prof. It says something about his teaching ability when most of the class has taken it before..several times. Does post lectures/good practice tests online though.
Awesome professor lectures were boring but the practice tests were really helpful! if u do the practice tests and pay attention in recitation u will be fine...brent is also helpful and funny 2!
Great teacher, funny when necesarry, willing to admit he's wrong at times, excellent practice tests, and he looks like the price from the 3 musketeers, so thats always a plus
**** during office hours, **** rest of the time. Jokes are weak, no-one's buying them and he shouldn't be selling them. Ego-testicles!
nice guy, phony. he's hard and kind of unfair, only way to pass is through recitations.
If you have a screaming baby keeping you up at night, show him Brent's slide lectures, it'll put him right to sleep.

Learned nothing in lecture, everything in recitation. Did my homework, failed everything and had an average of 45 before the final. Studied for 8hrs straight aced the final and walked away with a C. Hard class just do HW and recitation. Skip ALL lectures.

he looks like a pilgrim
Sir robin. Sir robin. Sir Robin ran away.
Brent is key. End of Line.
I like him so far...He's a good teacher and as long as you pay attention then u'll be alright...He's a funny guy which is always a plus and any professor with longer hair like that is the man!

I want to learn calc not hear about his hampsters eating each other.
he is a pilgrim
I took Brent a couple of years ago and he was one of my favorite teachers. The people that don't like him just didn't do well in his class and that's thier problem.
People who don't like Brent don't put the work in. You'll do fine if you spend a good 1-2 hours a night studying. He really puts a lot of effort into the class. All his notes are available and are easy to understand plus his lectures are available online. A little effort goes a long way in his class.
brent is a great teacher he keeps his class interesting with his funny storys and although calc can be a very hard class he is very easy to understand and if u go to lecture you will learn this stuff
Awesome teacher, very interesting and a riot, extremely fair grader...tough to fail his class
He is ok. Is a funny teacher but his lectures are pointless all he does is goes over his notes that he makes you print out. He doesn't give you time to ask questions so if you don't get anything good luck!
Awesome prof. never attended lectures except his exam review sessions (very helpful!). All the past exams are posted on his website and if you study them you will do great! the exams are almost exactly the same except different values. Take him if you have the chance...
First you have to buy his book, then your forced to read it because his lectures are nearly useless, then you have to read a second book because his book is full of useless prose and holes in the techniques. You are a college student and should be used to it by now, notes and exams available are a plus. Laugh at his jokes or he brakes out in hives.
I LOVE HIM! i wish he taught more classes because i would take them all. he is a great professor one of the best that i have ever had. he is nice, understanding and funny. he looks like a pilgram but he'll get off topic and share some stories. all of hes lectures are posted online as well as notes. he really helpful as long as u go to class

Doesn't explain anything, its basically a teach yourself course very hard, If you didnt take pre-calc before this I suggest you do.
His classes have A LOT of homework. He teaches well, just face paced so if you get lost you will be lost for awhile until you ask a question. Does not want kids to fail the class, but makes it clear they will without hardwork and effort.
Dr Brent is a GREAT professor! This is a tough class but Dr Brent gives us all the tools for us to succeed. He posts the lecture notes and practice exams for us online. Homework, a lot but you have to do it! He always has time for questions and usually has a funny story for us. Take him if you can! He will definitely be a memorable professor!!!
Dr. Brent is an excellent teacher. His lectures are pretty interesting and very helpful. Even if you can't make a lecture, he always has the video online so you will never get behind. This course does have a lot of work, and if you get behind, you will fail. As long as you stay with it, you'll pass.
Ahh, what to say about Prof. Brent. This guy is hilarious, especially if you take him early in the morning. Great prof, gives individual attention even in a lecture hall. Sometimes bursts into political tangents that can dominate a class. Assigns a lot of homework, but it is all relevant to exams. Take him for calc, and learn the ways of the Brent!
You know exactly what is expected of you in this class. Brent is hard but he is fair and you pretty much EXACTLY what he is going to test you on. He also posts his lecture notes and his exams from previous semesters on his site. His exams are the same as his previous ones with new numbers substituted in, give or take. Take his class
Brent is absolutely fantastic. He is funny, smart and explains things very clearly. He jokes a lot in his lectures but teaches the material very well. There is a lot of homework in this course BUT it all depends on ur recitation instructor (brent never collects hw), recitation guys do but by far not all of them. I would highly recommend this course
Goes very fast in lecture but lectures/notes are recorded and available online for those who dont like attending class. This class requires a lot of time so I dont suggest taking it in the same semester as another hard class ex. physics.
Goes too fast...learned nothing at all
Great sense of humor. Lectures and notes are all online. Explains things clearly. Tough, but fair tests. Forewarned, study hard!
He is a very funny guy. He keeps us awake during the morning lectures.
he is funny and an ok teacher but if you allready knew calc he makes it more confusing by making it harder
He is a very clear yet tough professor. You must learn a lot information on your own. His exams can be very tough so attending class is helpful. Before taking his class, make sure you have an alg II/Trig. background!
If you work hard, do the homework and study hard, you will do fine.
Great professor. Entertaining and helpful. Work hard and you will do well.
Great prof
Had him for lecture, so obviously attendance didn't matter. He's real funny and his notes are awesome. He records class so you can watch it online if you missed a class or need to go back to something. Tests are really hard, but if you go through his sample problems then it should be easy. I went from almost F => A on the final with studying.
Great teacher. Always helpful. Alot of work and study, but you will know the subject when he is done.
Great class. Those who don't do well generally do not put in the time and effort (...or haven't taken pre-calculus yet). One of the must-take classes at UML. I wish he taught calculus III :(
Amazing class. I wish that he taught the rest of calculus at the University. He makes class extremely enjoyable. Very funny guy. Always willing to help you understand the work. he breaks everything down very simple for you to understand and all lectures are available online. Be sure to do the practice exams and you will do just fine. =0)
Great teacher, learning a lot from him even though i haven't taken calc and i don't understand some of it, he is a great prof. and his notes are good but i wish he made the homework mandatory, i think i would probably learn a lot more. One more thing he looks like Snape. He make the class interesting, throws a couple jokes in. good prof and class
I haven't been to the lecture or done the homework since the second class because I learned Calc in high school. I just go to recitation and do the Exam practice questions the week before the exam and I'm all set. If you don't already know calculus, look at the homework and if you don't understand it, read about it in his textbook. It's helpful.
He is a genius, but that makes it harder for normal people to understand what is he saying in his lectures. I have to re-watch the lectures and slow them down , so i can understand. His tests are ok but he grades hard, therefore half the class fails.
He's funny amusing but he's a bit fast. However going to his office he's great and will take so much time to help you out, has a white board set up so you can do problems with him there. Miss hearing him saying "that's offensive" when a prob looked horrible. Wicked funny, hard though, need to do recommended probs that you don't need to do 4 hmwk.
80% of my 300 person lecture failed the second test, most good teachers dont let that kinda thing happen. i had to withdraw when ive never gotton below a B- in a math course in my life. people say hees funny but thats cuz he trys to make you laugh with 10 jokes a class and very few are funny. too bad you need to pass his class for most majors
He is the man! If you do the homework and the practice exams you should get a good grade. Go to the class the class before an exam and he will basically tell you what is on the test. He makes the class better by cracking jokes throughout, but he still goes over all the material.
when you have an 75% fail rate each year, change methods.
Great professor; loves to make jokes in class; goes fast during lectures, but one can keep up is they mix copying notes and listening to the professor. Homework is not easy, but read the book before every assignment, the book helps explain the material. Also, use the Clac I Survivor's Guide on the Clac I homepage.

His lectures are pretty straight forward and he provide you with numerous examples. If you don't leave his class without a good understanding of calculus then you're just not trying.
Course is tough, but is designed to be a comprehensive and challenging first course in calculus. Brent is very funny and his lectures are thorough and straightforward. Tests are pretty tough and you need to spend a good deal of time preparing for them. Many people fail this course so pay attention, and listen to what is said. Somehow I got an A.
what a prick
He's a good guy, but tries to be funny but its hard to laugh when you're too busy worrying how hard the final is going to be. have fun...
nice guy. attendence not required, but HIGHLY encouraged or you will not pass the class. tests are alright. do the homework though, you wont pass without it
Brent probably the only calculus teachers where the true prerequisite for passing the course is to have already taken calculus two. After one exam last year when the class average was something around a 50 or a 60 he claimed that the test was obviously doable because 10 out of 600 people got 100's. He also blames the class for failing his tests.
if you do ALL the hw and exam reviews and ask him WHENEVER you got something wrong, you will DEFINITELY get an A. You CANNOT learn calculus from a good teacher. Like ALL math, you MUST do the practice problems and learn from your mistakes.
so hot I cant focus in his class
Rather than teach, Dr. Brent makes it his job to "solve the calculus I problem," by failing approximately half the class each semester. He thinks he's amusing and entertaining, but he hardly lectures for the time allotted and frequently cancels class. Yet another UMASS Lowell Professor giving education a bad name.
I loved this class. Prof. Brent was very helpful. Class did get out early a lot, but only if no one had questions on the material. Go to class! Do the homework! Listen when he talks. He hinted at over half the problems on the first test. Easy to do well if you try. This was my first calc class. I was only in Trig in high school. He's a cool guy
Dr. Brent's class can easily be passed with flying colors if you pay attention in class and do your homework. If you're really not getting any of it, he's readily available for extra help sessions. If you're lazy and don't do your homework, he often does most of it with the class the next day, so even then it's hard to flunk.
Awesome Professor!!!
he should have 5 chili peppers...he's tough and he's great.
Fun guy, but least invested professor ever. Get a good textbook and you'll get an A.
By Far the easiest math course taken... Open Notes exam.. Great, explanations... Overall 5*
Dr. Brent is a tough professor, but he makes up for it by being an all-around good guy and an excellent teacher. If you don't come out with a solid understanding of calculus, then it's your own fault. He gives practice tests which roughly mirror the exams he gives, which is tremendously helpful.
He is a really good guy. Very smart I had some good conversations with. He really is a scientist, PhD work for the Navy testing how sound waves move through the oceans. Open book and note tests. email mails good notes to use. Drops your lowest test grade and if have an A by the end of the course you do not have to take the last test.
GREAT TEACHER, VERY NICE, AND TEACHES MATH THE BEST IVE EVER HAD. HE VIDEO TAPES CLASS SO YOU CAN WATCH CLASS FROM HOME IF YOU DON'T WANT TO ATTEND CLASS. JUST SHOW UP FOR TESTS. HE IS GOOD, TAKE IT.
very fair tests for calc I. Do the homework and you will pass. Lectures move fast but he will answer your questions if you have them. I would absolutely take another class with him.
Amazing Professor! Only downfall is that he speeds through the slides a little bit. He really wants all his students to do well. If you ask him to postpone a lecture so the class can do problem solving he will and he comes around for 1 on 1 help if it is needed. He is an extremely fair graded gives as much partial credit as possible! Recommended
good professor. do hw n attend the class u pass
Great teacher. Makes great use of lecture notes. Use them! Goes over the homework everyday. He will do any problem you ask him to. His quizzes are very close to the homework problems. Do the homework over and over!
Brent is pretty hilarious. He is very friendly as well. Do your homework and study hard because his quizzes can be tough! Sometimes he gets spacey, but the guy definitely knows what he's doing.
Great professor, great guy. Very thorough lectures, will go over any and all homework problems if you ask. His quizzes are very similar to the homeworks. Take his Calc 2 class, do the homework over and over and over, ask him to do homework problems in class the next day, you will do very well.
The homework isn't too bad and the problems on the quizzes are the exact same type of problems in the homework. Hes funny and approachable with questions but he goes too fast with his lectures and then almost always lets out 20 minutes early. He doesn't explain the material very well, mainly he just tells us what is already in the book.
I thought his class was a lot of fun, aside from being at 8 am. He almost always let class out early, and I didn't even have to take the final. If I see him listed as the professor for another that I need to take, I will sign up for his section, no doubt! Recommended!
This professor is very fair. He's highly entertaining and kind of looks like professor snape from Harry Potter. For a person who was not the best at math, I followed almost every lecture. HW pretty much is the quiz. Extremely prompt in answering emails. Lets class out early often, but always available after class. One of the better professors.
Professor Snape! Reasonable amounts of homework that the quizzes closely resemble. Very funny guy who keeps math class interesting (what? that can happen??). Is readily available to help students and has a highly positive attitude--refreshing for a calculus teacher. Highly recommended.
Pretty easy teacher. HW/Quiz combined grade every week which is 20%, 2 exams worth 25%, and a final worth 30% that you can use a cheat sheet. I've never taken calc and am getting an A. Just do homework and practice problems a lot and you will do well.
Professor Brent is a great teacher. He goes through the slides and example problems in class. If you do the homework and understand the material, you'll do well. Very fair at grading and giving partial credit. Would take again.
Great teacher. Makes all tests for all sections of Calc 1, so the test questions are very similar to exercises given in class.
Homework does not count toward your grade, but if you do not practice, you will fail. Guaranteed. He is not known for giving partial credit most of the time, the quizzes are weekly, and usually only a few questions, so if you get one or two wrong your grade plummets. Attendance isn't mandatory, and honestly his lectures don't help. Good luck
Awesome professor once again. HW is there for practice, doesn't collect. Attendance is totally up to the student. 2 take home exams. An optional final if you've maintained an A in the course. Gives feedback on exams day after it is due. Always a pleasure in his class :)
Dr. Brent, hands down, is the best professor I've ever had at UML. I am not a math person (I'm bio to be specific) and I can't even begin how easy he made it to understand! And calculus isn't exactly an easy subject. I left this class understanding and remembering calculus. Also, hes an amazing guy. Will bend over backwards to help you, take him!!!
Best Professor I've ever had for math. You can't fail if you keep up with the homework.
Calculus isn't easy. But he breaks everything down simply. Quizzes are usually once a week and he tells you what to study. Soft spoken & easy to understand. He reviews before every quiz and exam. Also he's very helpful during his office hours.
Good teacher, knows his stuff. Can be a little short sometimes with explaining material but overall fair class
Professor Brent was great! He made calculus easy. If you have high enough grades you may not have to take the final which is great.
I love this Professor. His jokes can come off as a bit intimidating but overall i love him! he treats everyone fair and gives everyone a fair opportunity to pass. If you attend class and try you will be awarded. If you dont already have a background with calc it might be a bit difficult because he teaches fast but he never makes you feel dumb. :)
one or two extra credit things, material is tough so I cant say hes a bad teacher, just kind of boring. I would take him again because he knew what he was teaching
Great Professor
Brent was great. If you don't understand lectures the first time, he always posts the video of his lectures on his webpage to watch later. Theres a lot of homework but if you do it right after the lesson is taught youll understand a lot better. Weekly quizzes. He writes the exams, so always gives hints of whats on there. website helps too. nice guy
Had him for calc for life science, it was the cruelest course ever created. The only points came from 3 exams and the final, which was worth 40%(!!!) of your grade. Lectures are pretty useless too. Your only chance of passing is finding a really good tutor and being a good test taker.
Professor Brent is amazing! He gives you many opportunities to succeed in this course. Theres 3 exams worth 60% of your grade and then the final exam worth 40%. If you have an A average before the final you dont have to take it. If you do better on the final, he uses that to determine your grade instead!
Professor Brent isnt at all clear when going over lessons in lecture. He skips steps which doesnt help students who dont learn that way. Hes very nonchalant and can be extremely rude through email, when asking for help. Make sure you attend all his classes he does spot attendance. Do homework even though he doesnt collect it.
Prof Brent is a great professor who really wants to see you succeed!! We were allowed cheat sheets for exams and the opportunity to be exempt from the final if our exam average was an A. He is a really helpful dude and gave extra credit opportunities to boost grades. Lecture was only helpful when he went over homework problems. Nice guy.
Hardest class you'll ever take! Only 3 exams, which are worth your entire grade. Homework doesn't count, classwork doesn't count. Only way you'll pass this class is if you cheat.
Not the best professor ever but not the worst. Not reachable outside of class, sometimes doesn't respond to emails. Made the math harder than it needed to be.
Dr Brent is very straight forward in what he is looking for. Homework is totally up to you, but if you want to pass the class you want to be able to do it. His study guides for exams were very helpful. If you put the work in, you can get the grades.
This class was very boring but easy if you've taken calc in highschool. You don't need the textbook and you don't need to do the homework, he never checks it. All you have to do to study for quizzes is watch the lecture where he goes over what to review. He gives practice sets/exams for exams and if you do these you will be fine on the exams.
too hard
good guy but bad teacher, relies strictly on reading notes and assumes you'll understand what he means by the little marks he makes on the board. and if you want the physical notes you have to print them yourself, which is too much for the given amount of printing dollars
Weekly quizzes are incredibly hard, but exams are way easier than other professors. I've taken this class twice and compared to the other prof, Brent is easier and a better teacher. He gives good notes and a review before every exam, which is very similar to the actual exam. Would highly recommend
He literally was absent for a good two weeks from class. Doesnt know at all how to teach. Quizzes are so hard and hes a really tough grader and made the final exam really unfair. He literally takes out points for stuff like, handwriting. pretty sure he monitors these rating so this may be deleted. But if its not, I warned you. Dont take him.
His quizes are easy if you actual COMPLETE THE HOMEWORK. The exam were wicked easy, he would even give hints to what the "difficult" question would be if you actually went to class. Additionally, 90 and above was an A so it was even easier to get an A than most other classes.
Chill and reasonable Professor. Quiz every week. Easy going and very nice. Lectures are posted online. If you do the hw and look at examples in the text book, youll be alright.
This class was not bad at all. As long as you do the homework he gives you and go to class you'll pass. There's a quiz pretty much every week but its like max 4 questions. There are 3 exams and it's only 10 questions. He also posts previous year's exams so that gives you a good idea of how the exam is gonna look like. Definitely would take him.
Dr. Brent is great. He provides you notes for lectures, practice for exams, and exams from the past semester on blackboard. Do the HW even though he doesn't check it, it's the key to doing well on tests and the quizzes. If you are gonna miss class just email him saying you can't make it and it won't affect your grade. Lectures are recorded too.
He is a great guy and pretty easily accessible outside of class. He gave quite a bit of extra credit and retakes this past semester to help us out. The course is pretty difficult and really requires you to study. The only thing I do not like are his notes. They are all online and are very difficult to understand unless you're very good at math.
Incredible professor, very caring about the students and really cares about what he is teaching. Very smart and very fast grader. Lots of homework and quizzes and exams are similar to homework. (Write down EVERYTHING) He knows what he is talking about and is always accessible out of class.
Do the homework, attend the lectures, and you will do fine. I got more out of a 6 week summer course from Brent than I have from full semester classes. I really enjoyed the class.
Professor Brent has an excellent flow in terms of lecturing. Things to note: 1) All classes are recorded, it will not hurt to skip one or two classes 2) He reviews all exam questions the class before 3) He tends to be a picky grader 4) Requires online payment of $80 to access homework 5) No textbook necessary 6) Very accessible and caring
He's nice. If I didn't understand something he practically emailed me a paragraph or two with multiple examples explaining. He will make you feel welcome during the lectures. Downsides, he isn't great at teaching. I never took calc in high school, but it seems like him along with many other calc professors teach as if you already know.
If I were given the option to attend Brent's lectures or watch paint dry, I'm choosing the latter. Knowledgable guy, but has no idea how to give a compelling lecture. I skipped the last two months of class and finished with a 103%. It's an extremely easy course, but don't expect to learn much or stay captivated.
Took Professor Brent's hybrid Calc1 class. He moves through chapters fast, rarely takes the time to explain concepts, and does a poor job answering questions. His one or two word emails are a joke, and his enthusiasm for his job is clearly lacking. Unless you feel comfortable teaching calculus to yourself, I recommend seeking alternatives.
Lectures were definitely pretty textbook and monotone, but I still liked being in his class. He got through the material quickly, leaving 2/3 of the class open for homework, which allowed me to easily keep up with the homework and have hands-on practice with the material immediately. Answers emails promptly and kindly, and is a very lenient grader.
Basically taught myself through the entire course especially with the Mathlabs. The mathlab's were the a better professor than Brent was.
Do not listen to these paid actors writing these good reviews about him. It was the worst hybrid class ever made, whos idea was it to have students walk into a classroom at the library and have them watch a teacher talk about pre written notes on two of the worlds smallest TVS and say gj then leave. do not take this class and save your sanity.
Dr. Brent's lectures are well-presented and fast-paced. He does not write the exams, but they are tough. Only 7 quizzes, not much partial credit, and none are dropped. He will give you some opportunities to get extra credit if you do the worksheets.
His lectures are extremely fast paced. You will not be able to catch up with him during class. I wouldn't recommend this professor.
I would recommend taking Brent for Linear Algebra. His lectures are a bit dry but his examples are really helpful. Super fair and gives useful practice exams. Minimal poofs on exams too but there are a few. He's also really nice!
Differential equations with Professor Brent is the hardest math class I have ever taken by a very wide margin. His teaching style did not work for me. From the beginning of class, he would start doing example problems, but he wouldn't explain what he was doing. Very boring. Harder than it had to be.
Brent's teaching style did not help me learn, I basically self taught myself the material through MLM and youtube videos. He goes over examples without explaining the basic concepts first so you're left confused most of the time. He's a tough grader on quizzes but more lenient on exams, do the study guides and you'll be fine. He's a nice guy though
Brent is not a bad professor. If you want to succeed do the homework, the practice problems will be similar to the quizzes, he gives practice exams (they are literally the exams), and is very accessible outside of class. Lectures go over bunch of examples you will be ok! Down side is not much partial credit. Just do the practice!
He is the best and pretty fair. If you pull up to class and focus, guaranteed A. Just put in the extra work, I recommend for management precalc, or any of his classes, great professor!
Need to get on his good side. MLM every 1-2 weeks. Responds fast to emails. Do the worksheets he gives you and go to class and you'll get an A. He is a little moody at times but he's pretty lenient on grading. Very easy quizzes and drops 2 quiz grades. Just be aware of his interesting personality and don't take offense to it. No attendance.
Great professor! He teaches directly to the point and you just have to do the work to pass his class. If you work hard, you will somehow get that A in his class. He is always open to helping students in and out of his office hours. He grades most quizzes and exams instantly and returns them to you next class. Would 100% recommend for Calculus 1!
I took professor Brent for an accelerated Diff EQ 6 week summer course. I took Diff Eq in the past and failed with a different teacher, so the fact I passed with an A in this class just shows how good of a professor he is. If you do the homework and the many practice problems he provides, especially around exam time, you will pass for sure.
Professor Brent was a good guy who made sure to be available after class for students who needed help. His lectures are super example heavy and he can definitely go a bit fast. If you have trouble learning from professors who go fast he might not be your guy. If that style works for you then I would highly recommend professor Brent.
Brent's teaching style can be hit-or-miss. The lectures are mostly examples without much explanation, so self-study with the textbook and resources like Unstuck AI are key. If you put in the work, you can do well, but it's a tough class.
Very unprofessional when sending emails and very rude when you ask the simplest question to him. He doesn't care about student's mental health and is just overall rude. I would not recommend this professor to anyone.
Easiest Proffesor I've ever had he makes math easy to understand
He's my goat 🐐
No professionalism in emails, very rude and inconsiderate. Cannot teach properly just shows examples and assumes you know the math and is agitated by simple questions from students. Also does not post any grades if you'd like do know your progress you're expected to figure it out yourself. If not for my amazing drop in tutor I'd be totally done!
If you get him, good luck, you'd better start praying :) He teaches as if you know the material already, never answers any email, and NEVER updates Blackboard, so you only know your final grade until after the final, which you have to email him to get!
Honestly, hated him. But you don't really need to go to class to succeed either. If you go to tutoring, do your homework, and just study for HOURS and HOURS and HOURS and... did I say hours, you will probably be fine. he doesn't teach really well at all. It's kind of up to you to figure out the material.
