Dr. Caldwell is an excellent teacher, and he always makes class interesting. His explanations are clear and understandable, and he’s very approachable to ask questions. I often went to his office hours and so he knew my name, even while having two huge econ lectures! If you're taking econ, I would highly recommend Dr. Caldwell.

This guy comes off as nice, but in reality he isn't. He is not a good teacher. He gives you false by giving out an easy first exam. From there, things go downhill. In addition, some of his questions are extremely poorly written, to the extent that they refer to multiple things, which in turn makes them unanswerable. Overall, I'd say don't take him

Simply put, Ron is a delight. What is there to say about a man with such poise? Well, three things: First, he outlines everything you will need to know. It's up to you to do problems and learn them, which can be difficult. Second, if you are struggling, he can't help you if he doesn't know. Third, be prepared to learn to put up with Ross students.

Love Ron. This class wasn't as easy as usual online due to the weekly quizzes and your grade being determined by 3 exams, but if you do all of the problem sets and module quizzes they aren't horrible besides timing. He's an excellent, knowledgeable lecturer and even cooler person! Make sure to meet with him outside of class because he's the best!

Caldwell is a great professor. Econ 101 is a pretty tough class and the online test formats weren't ideal. However, he explains the principles really well and tests/quizzes are open note. Ron is a very good lecturer (and seems like one of the best for 101). However, I honestly felt like my high school Econ teacher did a little better of a job explaining things. The tests are difficult, but he gives you all the resources you need to succeed. I ended up .1% away from an A+.

Ron Caldwell is the professor that made me change my major to economics. He is so honest with his students and genuinely cares to speak with them during office hours. I find him to be a genuine and funny professor with the rare ability to win people over. Nothing but praise for professor Caldwell!

I struggled with econ a lot but I can still recognize that Ron is an amazing professor. He truly cares about his students and is always open to critiques and feedback. His lectures were engaging and he was always prepared. The grading on the quizzes can be tough but he drops your lowest score. Whole class is based off of about 9-10 assignments.

Caldwell was a great professor and really wanted you to learn. He has engaging lectures, records his lectures because attendance isn't mandatory, holds office hours and is open to answering questions. He tries to get to know you! The only worry is grades are from three things: 5 quizzes, 3 big exams, and an article response.

I enjoyed how he would make economics interesting by tying it to a real world concept. I also liked how he would try to remember everyone's name and personalize it. It is a hard class, but Caldwell does his best to teach you what you need to know in simple terms. The only negative I can think of is he gets upset when students leave early.

Caldwell is a thorough lecturer who does a good job of explaining concepts and tries to make sure that everyone follows along. If you do all the practice problems he assigns, go to discussion section, and go to office hours, you'll more likely than not do well in the class and on exams.

Professor Caldwell is the best choice for intro econ! His lectures are easy to follow and he posts old video lectures online. Quizzes are open note but graded harshly by GSIs. Exams are multiple choice and pretty easy if you do the optional module quizzes and practice questions and go to discussion. Often questions from the practice are on exams.

Passionate about economics, not his students. Would not recommend having any sort of crisis in the middle of the semester (mental health, family death, etc.) If you catch him on a good day, perfectly fine, otherwise condescending in office hours. Just because you are good at Econ does not mean he was a good professor.

Prof. Caldwell is a very nice guy who delivered interesting and funny lectures. He explained material very clearly and was very helpful if you were struggling. You are only graded on 5 take-home online quizzes, a news article analysis, and 3 midterms, so your grade hinges on only a couple of things. If you study for the midterms you should be fine
