Intelligent man. Is sarcastic often, but its obvious that he is joking with you. For sure is NOT an easy A (a thespian or not). Practice your speeches, be original and you will be in good shape.

he is a very creative person and has a colorful personality. you can see that he loves his job because no matter how bad his day has been he will come to class prepared and happy. it is not difficult at all to get an A in his class.

If you apply yourself and your work shows effort, you will do fine in his class.

I LOVED his class, even though a lot of the times, I was the center of sarcastic jokes, and yea it is true that he doesn't give A's, but that is only because he knows that as a student you could do much better. I recommend this class to everyone!!!!

Great professor! Loved his class. It's true he doesn't give "A" in his class, but if you impress him with an awesome speech, of course he will give you an "A". I got 3 A's in my speeches. HINT:pick original topic. Drugs,abortion, tabac

You have to do really well to get an A in this class. If you wanna have fun, this class would be perfect. It's very laid back. He makes fun of students sometimes but you can make fun of him too. just don't ****him off and you'll be fine.

HE is cool. HE does not give homework, and you have like 4 speeches in the entire semester. He does not give A's easily, so if you are willing to get an A, you have to work hard on the speeches.

very nice, can be a fun class. I did not find it hard to get an A, just do ur work and have ur speeches done on time.

This is the only professor that I actually learned something from! He is smart and makes you a better speaker while having fun. Take this Class!

He is a very funny and interesting professor. His class isn't easy but you will learn to be a better speaker. He gave me a really hard time but I loved it and gave him a hard time too!

He is a great teacher. It is hard to get an A, but if you do all the speeches you'll be fine. Dont ever say the work 'sucks', it would give you a bad grade.

Awesome professor who makes the class fun and worth going to. With him you'll definately learn how to become a better speaker as he's very helpful with criticisms. Be creative and enthusiastic to get an A!

His class is very easy and he makes you feel positive about your speeches as long as you make an effort. It's rumored that he doesn't give A's but as long as you make a good effort he'll give it to you.

This was not an easy class for me because I am very nervous when I make a speech, but professor Colburn was very kind. His encourgment and understading got me over that fear. Hey, I got an (A) also. great professor and very funny, story teller.

An awesome teacher. Class is very easy and I'm somewhat shy. Would of had an A but is grading scale is different. Only 6 speeches so don't sweat it. Tests are easy, just study. Just write great speeches if youre not a great speaker.I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM.

Nice guy, defainly a great class to take in the long Summer session. So easy. Make an honest effort to improve in the areas that you need work on and you'll make it though. He never gives C's, you have to try very hard to get anything below that.

I was petrified about taking this class, public speaking is my greatest fear. He makes you feel at ease, makes you laugh and is fun to be around. I am officially over my fear.

Very easy class! he crack jokes and is layed back. He will help you with what he can to keep your grade up. I was really scared to take this class and now I feel more confident.Take him he is a good teacher.

Prof. Colburn is great at making you feel comfortable in front of the class. I always hated giving speeches, prof. Colburn made the experience so much better! He is also caring and easy to relate to. Great guy and a great teacher!

This teacher was nice and he took a lot of time out of class to talk about the recent topics of the world. Gets off track a lot and you don't have to study that much for his class.

I hate giving speeches, but this class was great, The professor did his best to make everyone comfortable and he graded fairly. The rest of the in class work was also super easy, a great class for anyone to take.

R.Colburn had ultimetly became my favorite professor.He is so easy going and so very funny. His teaching style is anything like I had ever seen before.He is simply chit-chating with the students.He cares about his students , and understands them. He is the greatest of all. Colburn is the only way .

Take over the summer. Had so much fun dont be afraid he give helpful pointers throughout your speeches. Topics are easy.

He doesn't give out many A's, but he's not too hard a professor. He's very funny and does his best to make you feel comfortable. He's also very understanding and caring. I highly reccomend him.

He really does critique ur speeches though. He says he doesnt give a lot of a's but he's an awesome teacher and will help u become a better speaker. If u do all ur work and do okay on ur speeches u should be good in his class. He's really funny too! I think his class was fun!! Take him he's awesome!

I got an A in this class... it is not difficult.

Man, anybody that says that this teacher is hard must suck at speech. Colburn was not my reg. speech, I took and advanced class and still got an A. You just have to really like the subject but from the first speech I gave, there was no doubt in my mind that I was not getting an A. HE RULES!

Awesome class. Real easy. Excellent teacher. Really knows how to help you improve your speaking abilities. Plus he is funny all thorugh class. Really likes to chit-chat.

The last thing I wanted to do was give a speech. He made it o.k. And by the end of class I had improved.I got an easy A. I think he only wants to see improvment. He's not stupid. He can tell if you made it up 10 minutes before class started or you put some effort.

pretty easy class. he's fair and enjoys picking on students which is fun to listen to. he will help you and as long as you do the speeches you will pass the class no problem

Colburn is a great professor. He never talked on his phone in class and was always very helpful and pleasant. He always made the class a pleasure showing respect for everyone. He gives very clear instructions and is always willing to help with topics , a very easy going guy. take him you will not be sorry.

This guy's a riot. It's true that he doesn't give many A's, I think, but the reason for this is because there are very few eloquent speakers - in fact one doesn't even have to be eloquent, but motivated, and it seems few are that either. However, that said, I got an A...and I didn't find it hard to get - just put some honest work in outside of class and this professor will make those class minutes fly! If you're still not getting an A at the end of the day, there's nothing simpler than just asking 'why?'.

He is very helpful,funny and he does his best to make you feel comfortable.

This teacher is a kind of weird but very easy. He say's he rarely gives A's but easy enough to pass with a B. I hate giving speeches and he doesn't make it os bad.

HE IS GREAT!!! i would give him a perfect 5 but i wont cause i will do the samething to him that he does to everyone else. he never gives an A, he only gives B's so i will give him a B just to continue what he started :D. but great none the less and stil easy

He was fun. I was entertained during the class. If he makes fun of you, he likes you as a student. I was constantly laughing in that class because of him. He's very helpful. Don't be shy talking to him.

Mr.Colburn is a great professor.He also does his best to connect with you as a person.He is also the most fun professor i've had.If he gives you a test or quiz make sure you've read.You may not be a good speaker but he knows when you try.If you do need help he is more than willing to talk to you.If i had the chance i would take him again.

Colburn is very nice and helpful. His class was easy. There was only 1 quiz and no tests. The final was 4 papers that you wrote at home and turned in the day of the final. Your grade is how well you give your speech. The only thing that I didn't like was he wouldn't tell you your grade untill the end of the semester. I would take him again.

Mr.Colburn is a very fun and down to earth guy. At first I wasn't very thrilled to take this class, but he makes the class fun and is very lenient if you're having a bad day. The only drawback is that your paperwork never gets returned to you.

Awesome! loved this professor! rarely used the book at all. prof. grades you on your speeches, you might have a few quizzes and some homework assignments, but other than tha, awesome professor!

Mr colburn is a cool teacher down to earth love him but wouldnt take him again. he doesnt return paper work and you wont know your grade until the end of semester.

wow! colburn is awesome only thing is dont be late to his class! he picked on me and my friend most of the time but its just joking around. if you're easily offended i recommend u take someone else but if u have a good sense of humor he's a great teacher! minimum hw assignments, 1 quiz, used the book once! good stuff

My only regret is that the semester is over! You're graded mostly on speeches, 1 quiz, and a few assignments. DON'T BE LATE or say the word "sucks"! You'll laugh when you first hear him speak. He has a great sense of humor, extra credit opportunities if you like drama, very laid-back and talkative. He jokes around. Favorite professor, TAKE HIM!

took this class last summer. the post is late because I just found out about this site. Great professor. Made speech easy for those of us who were not fond of speaking in front of group.

Mr. Colburn Was an excellent professor, I would recommend him to every student. He is absolutely HA-larious

best speech teacher ever. The class is an easy A if you have the guts to talk to a group. There is next to no homework the majority of the grade comprises of the speeches and as long as you stay in front of the class speak clearly and make some sense youll pass you dont have to be brillant in this class you just have to be able to talk.

In the beginning it looks like that this class will require work but it is totally the opposite. One of the easiest classes i have ever taken. Just pick good speech topics and know what you are talking about and you would get an A.

He is such a cool teacher and he gives positive and negative (in a nice way) feedback after all the speeches.

Professor Colburn is not only a GREAT professor, but person as well. He has a sense of humor and makes speeches not so stressful. As long as you get up in front of the class and do your speech he'll be happy! There are not many tests, just mainly speeches about 5 of them. He is WONDERFUL and HILLARIOUS! TAKE HIM!!!!

Good teacher, the class is real easy. The grades is mainly based off the speeches but there are other assignments.He talks about his travel experiences but dont overdo it and make it all about him.Just to keep us entertain. Overall,a good class and give constructive criticism but not enough to hurt the student's feelings.Just give a way to improve.

Colburn is an amazing prof. Many people think he does not give A's but he does. There are 5 dif. types of speeches, and several little projects (which you never get back) To know your grade on speeches you have to ask him otherwise he won't tell you. There are supposed to be 4 tests in the class but our class got away with only 2. Take Colburn!!!!

I LOVED THIS CLASS! Professor Colburn made this class so much fun for someone like me who has a awful fear of public speaking! I loosened up in the class and he made speaking so much fun! I would take him again for any class. VERY FUNNY GUY!

He was awesome! He doesnt make you dress up to give speeches. The speeches are pretty easy he really doesnt use the book in class just for tests and theres not many of those either! But I passed with a "B" he was cool! If you like theatre you'll get along with him!

GREAT TEACHER!!!I loved this class.It was a fun class and I learned a lot.Best speech teacher ever.His class was fun, but if you don't like giving speeches then you might not have fun.It is VERY HARD to get an A on a speech but he never gives anything lower then a C.Plus he gives extra credit if you go to his plays, because he is the play director.

I've never taking speech, and i was extremely nervous but he makes the class a lot easier. he makes sure to make you feel very comfortable to step in front of strangers and speak. He's extremely funny and really cool to talk to.

He is great teacher that helps a lot only if you are willing to do the speeches the way he wants them and be willing to work for your grade in doing great speech then he is ready to help you succeed in achieving that. He is extremely helpful teacher.

Hes a pretty chill guy! he doesnt care that much about attendence & your entire grade is based on your speeches. He does care about how you speak in front of the class but he makes you feel comfortable. And the best part of all, it doesnt matter how bad u do on a speech u will get either an A or B on your final grade.Hes my fav professor.

Colburn is cool. He does critique each speech, but he makes you feel comfortable. As long as you give it a shot, it is impossible to score lower than a C on a speech. There's not much homework/ classwork in his class. On the down side, Colburn will never give you an exact class grade, and the final is an 8 page paper! I got a B. Take his class.

Good teacher. I think he enjoys his job. It is easy to get a "B" but very tough toget an "A", so if that is what you expect you need to be "brilliant" as he would say. Final is an 8 page composition which ws given to us on a thurs and due the following tue. This was har b/c of the fact I was studing for 4 finals. Take him he is great.

Prof. Colburn is a nice guy. Easy going and fun. Very sarcastic though. You will have fun in his class. Do not expect to be in the classroom that much. The only problem with my class, he did not give us a single grade during the summer term which, makes it hard to determine how you are doing in class. Do your speeches & homework, easy quiz & test.

I was always sooooo scared to take Speech class and when i finally did im so glad i had this teacher. Prof Colburn only makes this class easier than it already is. HE IS GREAT! I RECCOMMEND HIM!!

Easy class. You show up and take a couple notes and he usually dismisses you early. Three main speeches and one group speech. For each speech you need an outline and notecards. Tests are open book but lengthy. Final was a take home final.

Easy A and a very good professor, possibly one of the best the campus got. If you manage to fail this class is because obviously you tried to. The only con is that you will not be able to see your grade while taking this class. If you are a person who try your best and is responsible, you got nothing to worry about.

He was funny and chill. He helps you a lot and makes you feel comfortable when doing your speech. You don't have to dress up for speeches.
