Ron creates a fun learning environment and uses great examples to relate economics to the world around me. His explanations are really clear! Tests reflect what is covered in class, and he provides lots of practice questions and sample exercises. Wonderful person and one of the coolest teachers I've ever had!

I was like all set to hate this class and it actually ended up being my favorite class of the semester. Ron is a very cool guy and his classes are extremely laid back I always felt like it was ok to ask questions. He does tell horribly corny jokes but they contribute to the great class energy. Only downside was group project.

If you are a good note taker, don't bother to buy the book because you won't need it. Good teacher, brings it down to a level that the average freshmen in college could understand.

I had him for Macro and Micro, and he was a very good teacher. He is very liad back and will help with anything. He learns everyones name and remembers it forever. TAKE A CLASS FROM HIM! He is the best teacher at MATC.

if you can take notes and have some common sense then this class will be fairly easy to get a good grade. He is very informative and understanding and fair. The book is not needed at all, if you have questions, he can answer them in class or can be found on the net. you would be crazy to take econ with anyone else!

Anyone who needs to take Econ, Ron is the man. Very informed on the subject. Lots of activities and interactive ways to learn the material. He lightens up a typically dull subject with jokes and stories. Easily available after class and through email. I went into the class with absolutely no Econ knowledge and left with a solid A. Great Teacher!

Dr. Ron was fantastic. I only took econ because it was a requirement, and I changed my major to Econ after taking his Macro class. Excellent at getting difficult, boring info across in an easy to understand and often fun way. If anyone gives him a poor rating, they either didn't go to class, didn't study, or are simply not very intelligent.

He was awesome! I knew nothing about economics or even what that word meant. He turned my attitude around and I took his Macroeconomics class the next semester. He had corny jokes. He used them to help us relax and realize we can still be normal people in a classroom.

Awesome teacher. I wouldn't exactly call this class easy but his teaching is so good that it really seems that way. Go to class, pay attention and you should be A-OK. Anybody who rated Dunbar negatively did not attend class or pay attention.

Mr Dunbar is the best teacher I've had so far at MATC. He makes a subject that I despise very easy to understand and even fun. Not to much homework at all-but enough so that you know the material. Ron is a smart and extremely organized instructor. The course is clearly laid out and the syllabus is followed precisely. He posts grades immediately. He explains the rather difficult concepts of economics in ways that you can relate to and understand. The color-coded handouts are very helpful. I would highly recommend any class that Ron teaches.

Ron is one of the best professors I have had at Madison College. He is always telling jokes to keep your attention, which is helpful since he knows the course material is a little dry. He is extremely organized with note packets and diagrams on the board.

Dr. Dunbar was one of the best professors I have ever had. I would not bother getting a book because his notes are all you need to pass. With that said, you need to show up to class in order to get the notes. Without the notes you may struggle. His online quizzes are easy. He is easy to understand and very skilled in his profession. Take his class!

Ron is an awesome teacher. I had him for a 6 week class over the summer and did better than I thought I would. He gives plenty of handouts which are very helpful. I would take Ron again just to hear his corny jokes. "How much did it cost the pirate to get his ears pierced? A Buccaneer!"

Dr. Ron, was the best teacher I've ever had. He's super helpful and respectful with all of his student. I would advice to other economics teachers to follow his way of teaching. Coming from someone who has very bad ADD, periodically skips, and need a lot of one on one attention, Ron works with you no matter what, and cares. HE'S ALSO HILARIOUS. Take his class!!!!

SUPER EASY econ class. Notes are written out for you in packets and you just fill in a few blanks in lecture. He spells out everything for you. He also has a good sense of humor and always throws in jokes when people are getting bored. Would take again. Hardly studied for the exams and got 100% (I think he curves it a lot). No textbook!

Dr. Ron is awesome. Super fun and funny. Has a lot of knowledge in Economics. You don't get homework, but he hands out a lot of things that you can practice on to help you with the tests. He is always willing to help you and explain anything to you. The material was hard for me, but if you ask questions and study a lot you will be fine.

Hell of a teacher and guy. Really not much more to say. Everything is based off his lectures, but the note sheets he hands out are great. Tests were very clear and to the point. Super at helping you if you seemed him out for help. Treats all students with a high amount of respect and dignity.

Dr. Ron Is probably the best teacher on campus. I love his teaching style and he throws in a couple corny jokes that keeps the class from falling asleep. He gives had outs all you have to do is fill in the blanks during lecture. Very knowledgeable, and super well structured. Will remind you of all upcoming homework and quizzes!!

Ron is a great guy. He tells jokes during class that lighten the mood. I would highly recommend Dr. Ron. He truly does care and wants you to succeed. Tests are semi hard where it is kind of tough to get a A but the rest of the class is easy enough that you can get an easy A.

DO NOT BUY THE BOOK (Ron will tell you this on the first day) -- Anyways, Ron was amazing; super caring professor. Open to helping you during his office hours. His lectures were actually hilarious and he is super knowledgeable about economics. His tests are super easy if you look at the study guide and memorize some terms. It's hard to not do well.

Ron is quite possibly the most level-headed and understanding instructor I have come across in 2 years at MATC. Ron has a Ph. D in Economics, but he's insanely good at breaking down the core components into easily understandable bullet points, without sacrificing any important information. 11/10 if you HAVE to take Econ, take it with Ron.

I have taken Macro and Microeconomics with him and passed with A's. Dr. Ron will lecture for the entire length of the class but uses handouts to guide through the lecture with fill in the blanks to help keep you involved. He is always willing to help you whether on HW or tests. He also tells some AWESOME dad jokes, so be ready for them.

Ron makes microecon lectures as interesting as they can be by using real life examples and telling tons of amazing dad jokes. Two papers and if you follow the grading criteria he provides they're easy A's. 6 online quizzes with multiple attempts, 3 problem set homework assignments, and 3 tests. There were also extra credit opportunities provided.

I took this class online. He provides links to video lectures that are entertaining and keep you involved. You must watch his lectures to pass the class and you will really learn the concepts. There are weekly quizzes but not much homework other than that. He has top-notch response times for emails and grading. Overall an amazing professor.

Ron provides amazing lectures with notes. The course consists of discussion board discussions, problem sets, quizzes, unit exams, and final exams. As long as you watch his recorded lectures, the textbook is unnecessary.

Ron Dunbar is a fantastic professor. I have taken his macro and micro economics courses and they are both very well done. He is knowledgable and adept at making a complicated subject palatable. I took his class and his class was very amazing. He responses really fast, and gives clear and specific feedback whenever I ask him questions or for some feedbacks. If you put your effort and try to understand the concepts he covers, there would be no reasons you couldn't get an 'A'

Pay attention in class. Read. Look at whatever he is showing you, because it will come up again. He will get back to you no matter the time of day. Very impressed.

I was nervous about this class at first, but Dr. Ron turned out being on of my favorite teachers. You have to put some time and effort into the class but he does off extra credit and drops 1 exam grade. I thought he was very fair. The best part is he grades fast and you can contact him anytime and he will get back to you almost immediately.

Dr. Ron was the top 3 professors I've had so far. He is always there for you when you have questions. Explains the lecture very well, keep it light. He makes the complexity of Economics feel easy. Lots of real world examples to make the concepts tangible. You have to pay attention in class though, because thats where the concepts become clear. Brings lightness to class with top-notch jokes (corny dad jokes, but I enjoyed them). I felt it would be hard not to succeed in this class.

Prof. Ron has great lectures and they are easy to follow because he provides note sets for the videos. This class is work heavy! There are weekly quizzes and assignments , 3 unit exams (drops the lowest exam score), 1 final exam, and a paper (This was canceled when I took the class. Reason is unknown). He does give extra credit!

Professor Dunbar is my favorite professor I have had so far. He finds a way to make class interesting by adding in jokes. You must do the work in this class, never fall behind. He offers many extra credit points. It is hard to fail this class due to extra credit and how willing he is to help you.

Mr. Dunbar is a teacher who really cares about his students! For everything he teaches he provides a study guide that you fill in while he is teaching. Accelerated online based on pre-recorded lectures. Ron's instruction is very clear & slow with a cheerful Midwestern delivery; don't try to cram them or you'll fall asleep. For test prep, use the textbook to answer the ungraded practice questions. Easy to learn what's required but not engaging. Minimal, boilerplate feedback. He seems nice though.

I took online microeconomics with him. It was a very easy class if you watched the lectures. However, since this was an accelerated summer class, we a couple of lectures each week. So, be prepared to spend at least 3 hours watching lectures each week (don't try watching them in one setting). Overall, he's a great teacher and an easy grader.

We had quite a few lectures in Ron's class but he's really flexible and he gives quite a lot of extra points for simple things and he's super accessible the only downside though is that he sends like 5 emails between 3am-6am and it's really annoying if you have your emails attached to your phone; I would recommend Dr. Dunbar!

The previous comment/feedback is so far off base. Dr. Ron announced the in-person Final Exam in his syllabus and had early morning, afternoon, and late evening options for coming to campus to take the final.

Professor Dunbar really is a great professor. The. key to this class is to pay attention and actually study and you will be fine. Also take advantage of the extra credit. His jokes are very fun and you also get candy some times.

He uses guided notes, which is the best possible way to take notes in my opinion. Attendance is not graded, but class time is almost exclusively lectures. Microeconomics. Excellent class. Really engaging lectures. Useful handouts including study problems and worksheets. ORGANIZED class, planned out in advance, he was on top of dates and cut the class some slack when a weather closure threw off his plan. Can't really say enough good things. Took Dr. Ron's Econ 101 class online. Class was very well structured and work was very well planned out. Lectures were interesting and he always made a point to break up material with a joke or two. Homework does a good job preparing you for exams, and Dr. Ron is always willing to meet if you need anything. Would definitely recommend.
