let me tell u about this idiot.He has a nasty attuide, not helpful.He run out class without answering your question. He stupid don't take him he will fail u b/c he fail 10 peolpe in my class and made 6 six peolpe drop his Class. Try not to take him.If u want to get the hell out NCC DON'T TAKE HIM
His statistics class was the worst EVER!! Difficult subject matter, he was not helpful at all. I would not recommend you have this professor! I wish you luck if you do!!
ok heres the thing if you want to fail take him there was about 30 kids in the class and after the first 2 test 20 dropped its like he loves giving out drop forms. ok you get your test back and he also gives you a bonus drop form hes crazy hes not helpful at all
to agree with everyone else, ive been at nassau for 2 years and he is by far the worst teacher, there are 6 kids left in my class out of approx 22. he enjoys kids dropping his class and is extremely unhelpful...
Very hard class like the others i had around 25 students in my class. There are now 5 left. Out of the 5, one of us is passing (barely). He is very eager to hand out drop slips, he enjoys kids dropping. He's really really nice but not a good teacher.
I don't know what you people are talking about. I had Prof. Goodridge over 10 years ago, and he was one of the most soft-spoken professors I had ever had. I managed a high B+ in his class after being out of H.S. for 5 yrs. Don't blame him; blame yourself for not having the proper math skills.

I withdrew out of that class!
Fast paced, learned everything in 13 days that normally takes 16 weeks. Extracted what we needed from the text book, instead of messing around with the useless formulas.
if u have trouble, go to extra help...he is very helpful and will pass u if u show effort!!!!
Prof. Goodridge sucks! Of every class I've ever taken, his was th only I was forced o withdraw from. When I withdrew from the course on the last day of classes, there were two people who were planning on taking the final-down from 27. That tells you how much he sucks, cause this happens semeser afer semester. He sucks. worst prof. I ever had.

This is one of the best math professors I have ever had! He is clear, helpful, nice, AND lets you use your notes on the tests! Statistics isn't the most exciting subject but he does an excellent job keeping everyone interested. He is really helpful and easy to talk to. The general consensus in my class is that he is an excellent teacher.
for everyone who is going to mat 111 next semester if you get him drop his class ASAP...he is a fun professor...but not a good professor..my class started with 30 students....by the end of this semester we had only 7 left(and only one is passing out of those 7) and that's when i dropped too..he is very hard...he doesn't help at all..not a good prof

I had him 2 semesters ago for Stat and as you can see i was FORCED to drop the class...even when i wanted to stay in and i tried very hard to raise my grade...there was no hope. He sux and he wants everyone to drop his class...its like hes seeking revenge for a bad math teach. he had as a kid. AVOID GETTING HIM !!!!
His tests are not difficult, simply retarded. It is very plausible to fail a test despite understanding all the material. You set up columns and charts on your own time which you have to use during the test. One mistake on these test preparations= probable F. Oh yeah, and don't forget to study.
this guy is the WORST!. he SUCKS. he brings drop slips to class on the day when he returns tests because he wants to eliminate as many ppl. as possible from his classes, that way he has less work to do. he helps in office hours, but its useless because his test questions are so different from the material studied in class.
ok this the deal if your wishing to fail than take him.doesnt mather HOW MUCH you study you wont pass. he doesnt answer questions bc "you should know that". 1 day he came in handed out a sheet of 5 IMPOSSIBLe Questions and left and said ill see you tomorow, figure it out. HIS CRAZY out of 30 students only 4 are left and 3 are failing w 20s.
He gets more involved with the students midway through the term. I think he expects a lot of students to drop the class, so he challenges them early on and then he works with those who stick around. He is always willing to help students. Show a real effort and he will reward you for it. And take the optional exam.
He is tough in the beginning, but if you stick w/ it & show an interest in learning he will help you pass the class. He expects people to drop his class, but I recommend hanging in there till the end. Most definetly take the final exam.
He is most definetly the most intelligent man I have ever met. I equate his class lectures with being taught by Denzel Washington, that level of enthusiasm, those manorisms. You will go through 3 problems a class, but know everything there is to know. He is by and far the best professor you could hope for; if you're willing to work harder then ever
I like the Denzel comparison, and I agree with it. Prof. Goodridge is awesome, and it's not so much that you have to work hard; even though you do...it's more like, once you've dedicated yourself to staying...do you pay attention or daydream? Do you do the homework? He lights up for students with things going on inside their heads and is very smart
I took his class during the summer. A few kids dropped. He teaches what he has to, nothing more, nothing less. If you need help, he'll help you. However, I wouldnt have gotten by if a few kids in the class didnt work together. You must study, he doesnt take slackers.
Out of 30 people i'm one of the 6 or 7 people remaining this semester. He is a fair teacher and he is okay at teaching the material. However, his test are about 300% harder than the material learned in class. Like all math professors he assumes that the students know as much as he does. I'm on the fence about taking a W cause its better than a F

You can attend class, you can do the homework, you can pay attention, but BE SURE that you WILL go the extra mile for a realtively decent grade from this man. This includes RE-LEARNING anything and everything you didn't learn from other teachers in your algebra and trig classes (after all, it's "not his fault they passed you after all" )Be warned.
Please! Don't take that guy. He's very cool but don't expect to pass his class. U have to be a genious to have an A on his class. He makes you feel stupid on Math. I just drop his class. U may study as hard as u can, u'll have 98% chance to fail. I wanted to stay until the final but I couldn't afford a D for my GPA. U can take him but good luck!
i just fininshed my class with him and im kinda nervous of how my grade is gonna turn out.. b4 the finals he told some people to drop because it was unlikely for them to pass. fortunately,i wasnt one of those people. he's the type of teacher that expects you to know everything.even though your good in algebra. dnt excpect to do good in his class
I HATE THIS MAN!!!! he is the worrrrrst professor i have ever had the displeasure of having. you can go.. u can study.. u can take notes.. and think u understand things and then when the test comes, count yourself as screwed. let's just say that my class went from 33 students down to 3 people taking the final and out of us(me being one), 1 did well

This Professor sucks. He failed everyone in my class but 1, and doesnt teach very well. he doesnt explain examples, answer questions, or, even acknowledge people with their hands up. If you get him, my suggestion is drop him
He is a very good teacher, but his tests are 150% harder than his classes. I agree with the earlier statement: you can put forth the extra effort and study all you want and get a decent grade. I consider myself an above average student and due to "lack of effort" got a C. My class started out with 35 students... 4 people took the final. Good Luck.

took winterim class it was a lot of info, but the whole class did great, exams were in the 90's. i got a 94 then a 92 on exam. he gives open book tests and gives a third exam if you need it.
this guy is honestly an idiot. if you raise your hand to ask a question he will embarass you and make you feel dumb. he doesnt care about his students or giving extra help. hes a useless peice of crap.

all the comments your read are true. this professor at first seems good, he gives the whole success lecture, you buy into it. a couple weeks down, you realize that he teaches NOTHING and you must learn EVERYTHING on your own. i have always loved math, this professor makes it the worst. trust me, save yourself the trouble of failing or dropping.
well prfessor goodridge is on okay teacher dont get me wrong he has his good days but when it comes to helping the students u mind as well forget it his attitude becomes atrocious at times and yes if you fail it does have something to do witht the teacher if not even half tge class passes a test than there is something totally wrong
WORST ever.. took this class last semester was doing GREAT but had personal problems so Took it over, taught SO DIFFERENTLY and didnt make any sense. so many people dropped that class. i suggest Mark H. Gwydir << he helps u understnad!
Every bad thing you read about him is true. I'm a great student and don't have trouble getting good grades, except for when the teacher is a dbag which in this case is true. The class started with almost 40 students and finished with maybe 15 tops. Stay away, far far away. I'm looking for a new Stat prof.
Hes a bad teacher. I got an B+ but thats only becuase i taught myself the material a few days before the test. He doesnt help you in class. Your basically on your own. If your bad with learning thioings on your own your screwed
This teacher is a very nice guy, but not helpful. He teaching skills are unsatisfactory. Many students withdrew from his class. If you ask him to explain something he makes you feel like you are an idiot & should know the work.
I took this class 4 summer & Prof. G is a good instrctr. The pace was a lil fast but I chalk that up 2 being a summer clss & me returnng 2 skool aftr more thn 15 yrs. attndnce is a must u don't wnt 2 fall behind. jst do the work as he teaches it & u shld b fine. he's a very knwldgble prof. He's a terrible teacher.he bases your grade off of tests.There's no homework or participation grade.You never use the text book because he teaches you a diferent way to do the problems then what the text book explains.Also we started off with 68 students and ended with 20 just over all a horrible professor!

Absolutely the worst prof. I have ever had. I have 2 degrees including a masters. Best approach was to stop listening to him and teach myself the material. Other prof.'s in the department couldn't even figure out how to solve questions from his exams when asked for help. If you get him just drop now! His attitude towards failure is misdirected!
Horrible. If you have a question he just ignores you or says look in the textbook. He never goes over anything more than once and his tests are extremely hard. He could careless about his students. Or as he put it "I've already been paid I don't care what grades you get or if you fail" great thing for a professor to say. I recommend switching out of his class of you get him.
Professor exams are challenging however if you put your study time you will do well in this course. No room for slackers in his course. Be an adult and study. Got an A in his course

He was by far one of THE WORST professors I have ever had. His classwork was inconsistent with his tests, and they were extremely difficult. He never checked or graded homework but would give MASSIVE amounts for you to do. When asked, "what I can I do to pass this class." He would say "drop it" .. Long story short .. DON'T TAKE HIS CLASS !!!!!!!
If you're lazy definitely don't take the class. Decent professor but does NOT use textbook to teach--taking good notes is a must. He posts his powerpoints so you can go back and look. As long as you pay attention and do the optional homework you will do fine. He even lets you take an index card to the test. It's 100% on you if you want to do well
Even if your a math genius dont take his class. He's too intense and he's never available for out of class help and never responds to emails. He often gives out take home tests, but if you bring them to the math center, NO ONE CAN DO THEM. Other professors cant do his problems! We started out with 20+ students and finished with 7. DONT TAKE HIM.
Look; the class is hard, I'll give you that. But DO THE WORK. Study and go to class, don't half ass it. I was panicking at the end of this semester and winded up with a B. DO THE EXTRA CREDIT PROJECT TOO. Is he my favorite teacher? No. But rather than complaining, you just need to suck it up and DO THE WORK. STUDY. GO TO CLASS.
I don't get all the negative reviews. I took his winter course and thought he was great! Really helpful if you spoke with him one on one and very fair and lenient on grading. His syllabus is scary-looking and his words during class seem harsh, but in the end, he's very understanding if you have trouble in class.

i had him back in 2012 he is by all mean very hard teacher his tests are hard and he tells every one to drop. i am done with calc 3 got A in almost all my math classes and had to drop his 109 he teaches 109 as if it is calc which is not fair for students. avoid him if you can , class started with 35 people ended with 2 kids half way C and B.
DROP THIS CLASS!!! He is heartless, he doesn't care about his students, and if you fail he will tell you it's all your fault. The class was lost in his ramblings and we all asked him to slow down, we got a lecture about how it's our fault if we don't understand his teachings. He's horrible!!!!!

Our last test was half take-home, and another professor looked at the test and said it was graduate level maths! Never-mind the overlong PowerPoints - study from the book, and try to befriend a very smart person. Most of us would not have passed without Hurricane Sandy.
Where dO I start? This is by far the worst teacher I have ever had. He makes us do homework and other stuff e.g the pretest and never talks about it again. His exams are full of silly questions that just make absolutely no sense. He confuses and tricks his students. I am going to avoid him like the plague next time. He also ignores emails.

Professor Goodridge has to be one of the worst professor's I have ever had. He is terrible at explaining, his coursework makes no sense. His method of teaching is the worst I've ever encountered. He barely teaches in class and the content he does teach has little to no correlation with his exams. Avoid at all costs or watch your GPA suffer.

Very abstract test questions that involve your use of literal and correct english to answer the question correct. I worked hard, used the math LAB everyday!! That's a good resource because the tutors in there are familiar with his style of work, teaching, etc. 1 on 1 he is a very nice man, work very hard, it is possible to pass.
He was a bad teacher but a nice guy. I have always been a great student in math and he made me hate math. If he tells you to buy wileyplus, don't, didn't use it at all. I got a B overall, and got like 70 something on almost all my exams, so I wouldn't drop right away. Also if you have a question he will answer "I don't know is it that?"
If you fail his coarse its simply because you are lazy. He had helped me to the full extent. He made me aware that I personally needed to go back to the students with disabilities center to help myself. The reason I received a mediocre grade was due to the fact I didn't go to center as advised. He will help if you ask. Great man, EXCELLENT TEACHER.
He is very fair. I was scared after reading most reviews on this site, but if you make it to every class and engage in the lecture, ask questions, etc., you will do well. He is very willing to help and he respects if you are trying to do well. I encourage taking him, at least for intro to stats.

This guy sucks! i'm in his class spring 14 semester, and i'm literally teaching myself on youtube. He send you the notes on dropbox and your basically on your own for the rest of the semester. He's obsessed with the use of proper english, he should give up being a math professor and move to the english dept.
He really tries to help students to pass class (gives a lot of extra credits on exams). He explains what will be on exam (gives warm-up quizes) and he never rushes. If you take notes and do your hw you will pass.
Honestly you get what you put in. Stats is not an easy course but he makes it as easy a spossible just pay attention to what he says and youll be fine.
Very Fair Professor. I took him in the summer and If you actually got to class early and/or had brief conversations with him you would know he had a sense of humor and a heart. However, he is a serious teacher make sure you study!

Does not go over the homework and does not like to go over problems in class. Dot take this course with this "instructor"". He just sits on his little chair and clicks through his powerpoints.. he speaks to a lecture class of 80+ students at a wisper volume. his test have absolutely nothing to do with the material. his powerpoints are vague. be prepared to teach yourself. I was in the math lab for atleast 2 hours each day and still ended up with a W. statistics isn't an easy course but he definitely doesn't make it easier. about 50% fails

I took a winter class with him. Super straightforward- 2 open notebook tests, an optional final and an extra credit project that could boost you up a whole letter grade. Taught stat well but is very vague when it comes to grades. Don't bother buying the book you practice a lot in class.
Avoid. Took this class in highschool, got a 92. Now I'm here and I don't understand anything. His teaching is confusing to me. Haven't passed a single test. Switches up questions on the tests so they look a little different. You MUST study to do well. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND HIM.
Def do not recommend, I missed class a couple of times and was not wiling to give make up exams nor review what you miss. Also due to the number of snow days we had I felt his classes were rushed and not clear. please do yourself a favor and avoid this joke of a professor.
Took this professor for precalc worst mistake I've made since college started he assumes you know the material goes thru chapters very fast and tests questions seems 4x more difficult then he says. but Everything we do in class we have on the test so if you ready to study until you can teach it that's what you need to do pass wouldn't recommend
He is exceptionally brilliant, good sense of humor, perhaps moves quickly through material. He will only slow down if you ask questions, he wants you to participate. Review the material thoroughly to understand, tests are challenging but fun. Course material has significantly helped me with other classes. Definitely an enriching experience.
Many students asked for help, he refused to stop his lecture. Has a terrible attitude. Does crack some jokes. But overall miserable. Goes too fast. Half my class dropped. Avoid!!!

He puts trick questions on his tests, this caused me to waste my time trying to figure out a question that had no answer and left me with no time to answer other questions thus bringing my grade down. When I confronted him about this he laughed. A very small percentage of my large class passed statistics, when I retook with someone else I got an A

Had him for STAT 102. He was an awful teacher. Gave out three tests and never used the textbook ever.
I agree with many people on here. He 's very hard, and also very intimidating. I just had him for pre-calc, and that was certainly not an easy class. He uses Power Points and just scrolls through them very fast. His exams are very tricky, but are passable. If you go the extra mile, study a lot, and do the extra credit, you will pass.
Professor is not teaching us, he is rushing through power point, entire class is struggling e are paying for this class .it is amazing how Nassau community collage doesn't care .Worst professor ever.
He is a mathematician. A brilliant man. If you are lost ask questions he will answer them. I enjoyed his class, the challenge. He always encouraged student to go to math lab for help . Hardest class Ive ever taken because i havent taken a math similar to this since 2011... if you have no math background it is going to be super tough but if you need help and if he can see you are dedicated and want to do better he will try his hardest to help you. And textbook wasnt used in class but I would highly suggest for practice and hw.

Professor Goodridge is a excellent professor. If you do the work and respect his time and rules, he respects you back. He is understanding and kind and will always take time to answer any questions you might not understand before, during or after class. I would definitely take his class again!
Dont listen to the negative reviews. He is a great professor. Im not the best person when it comes to math but he explains things very well. If you are struggling he will try his best to help you, but you have to be willing to help yourself. Do assignments and study you will do just fine. I had him for stats and got an A!
