AWESOME!!!! The class was well taught and it was thoroughly enjoyable. He makes it so easy that if you do not get an A then you should not be in school.
Refreshing course, not the norm. Was over internet, so less personal. It's basically a study of his studies, but it's really cool to actually be taking to the person that was out in the field doing the actual observations. He loves his ponies.

the study guides that he gives you tells you exactly whats on the test.If you fail,it's your own fault.Quizzes every week but again the answers come off a study guide that he gives you.There is alot of room to drop grades because he won't count everything

His lectures are ridiculous. There are no study guides-I have no idea what these people are talking about. The only thing he put up on that overhead were the pictures from the book. No notes, just pictures. Whoever made him dean of science was crazy.
Very reasonable professor. Some students complained, this is not the high school or the 13th grade, this is college, they need to get with the program, spoil bunch.
This class is horrible. He is a jerk with no life. He doesn't know how to answer a question clearly. He is a hard grader. I have a 4.0 so I doubt the others on this board can say that I shouldn't be in school. This class is a TON of work.

Oh My God! DUL, DULL, DULL. Take WILD HORSES at Polk County. This guy doesn't know a thing about REAL horses. He only knows about his UNPOPULAR ponies. Ponies are cute and all but, he tests you on things like how many sand grains are in a handful. LOL! An he is rude to us, 6 of us are complaining.:P
If you can manage to get another teacher for this course, please do. A lot of the time he would go into stuff that he openly admitted would never be seen again (either in nursing or A&P2). Gets incredibly excited about the material and can't understand if you don't share the excitement.
The class is 9 hrs, 5 times a semester. The classes are long and get tedious, but it sure makes the semester fly by. Easy A if you study and read. The questions on his test you KNOW are comming, so they aren't a supprise. But, yes, it's probably not what you expected...it's about his research.
Good Prof. Not sure why so many complaints..is is that you guys had to learn perhaps. Knowledgeable and accommodating. Funny & interesting. Material was hard at times but that wasn't his fault. Hey Fellow Students, try cutting down on complaining and study. And yes, there was a helpful study guide.
I took him online and it was awful. He does not help you at all. He critizes you when you get the answer wrong. You can't find most of the answers in his book. He says you have to think and know it. I'm a 4.0 student and I got a D in his class. There goes my 4.0.
I took him for a all day 6 saturday type class and i have new real complaints you really do learn alot. he is a little to in to all of it but that is only becuz he wrote the book and has made the topic his life passion. it's something diffrent than the norm for a class be ready to take LOTS of notes
This class was fun. He knows what he is doing, maybe too much, but it's interesting and you learn a lot. I never studied for tests but still did good. Pay attention and you will do good. He is funny and knowledgeable, just study for tests and you will get an A.
He was snappy sometimes but tests were easy and he gave easy quizzes worth too many points so it was really easy to pass. Also, homework assignments straight from the book give you easy points. easy!
This teacher was great. Ignore previous ratings. He gives more than enough oppurtunities for points. Gives you great notes and is very helpful and cares very much to see you pass (especially if you show interest in your own grade). Just like every class, if you study, you will do well. He's a great guy and professor and is knowledgeable.
This professor is hard. The test suck. If you dont have a test you have a quiz everyday. He grades hard.
Online class, lots of homework, learned way more than any other class I have had. Dr. Keiper knows his stuff, I really enjoyed this class
This class isn't difficult but the instructor is insufferable. First night of class we didn't have enough seats-by the end of the first break, there were plenty of openings. He's totally condescending, regularly insults our intelligence, and insanely boring. On the upside he gives you all of the notes typed and the tests are reasonable. lots of ec.
He is a very good teacher you just have to pay a great deal of attention to succeed in his class you will have to take alot of notes and know figures for this class also general information about the ponies. If you ask him for help he is there I passed with a C but only because the class was 5 weeks if it was longer I would of had an A + .
His knowledge on horses is amazing. Online class is work but interesting. He loves for you to pull info from other sources as well. Find anything online to add to the lecture quizzes & you're golden. 2 quizzes/week and they're a lot if you don't pace yourself through class. He also provides feedback on the quizzes so you know his thought process.
This professor is not helpful at all, just gives you papers and expects you to know. boring but in the middle of the class you'll sort of get what you need to do. Knows alot about horses. Study hard and you'll get a B
Professor Keiper is a fair instructor. Negative comments come from those who give them constantly. If the students participate, it makes the class run more smoothly. Keiper's ideas are not new ones. If you study and know the curriculum, you will be fine. He is very organized.
Very difficult class. Disrespectful and critical to students. Tests were very difficult. I have never worked so hard and only pulled a B.
He is not a good teacher. He spends more time in testing than teaching. After a 3 hour-class, students must take a quiz after every class and another one in the beginning of the class. Two tests (not less than 15 questions each) at every class! That's not fair and that's not learning. He is also a mean teacher.
Ok, here's the scoop! All the negitive is 89.8% correct. All the positive is 100% correct. He is old school! If you get into "his groove" it's all good.Read and re-read the tests questions. Pay attention to the the other questions,he (sometimes unintentionally) hides answers in them. He is an outstanding professor. You WILL earn the grade you get!
Prof Keiper it's probably the worst teacher I have ever had. Don't take him for anything!!!! He is very unapproachable. He expects you to know everything. His tests and quizzes are ridiculously hard. Its not so much the materials but its the wording on each test and quiz. Do yourself a favor and look for another teacher.
OK-Lectures are boring most of the time but he provides study guides,lecture outlines and TONS of opportunities for EC. If you are not a whiner, he is very approachable and appreciates constructive feedback,even if you are not the best student. His test are difficult but, but again there is tons of EC.
he is an awesome teacher! he is extremely hard though, you have to be willing to do some work. his test are worded kind of weird but honestly if you know the study guide you should be fine. i wish i could take him for all my science classes
Dr. Keiper is very well versed in the subjects he teaches. He is very fair and gives lots of opportunity for extra credit. If you take your classes seriously, you'll pass his class with no problem. You do have to be prepared to work very hard as his A&P I class is not for SLACKERS!
Very fair, he gives study guides for each quiz. Plenty of opportunities for extra credit. Encourages class participation, but if the class chooses not to, he gets pretty annoyed(these moments are kinda funny actually). There is no reason to get anything lower than a B in this class, I fell asleep during almost every lecture and pulled off an A.
He is very helpful and understanding he gives notes on the important things that he wants u to know the text book isnt needed but the lab book is. Read your notes and u will pass with a good grade Promise!! Great Class Im taking him for A&P 1.....
He is awesome. He gives you mad extra credit opportunities but this class isn't a walk in the park either. He grades out of 1000 points but you can get up to 1200. I got 809, which should have been a D but it was a B. Very happy. He teaches well, gives you help when you need it, and is overall a nice teacher. Would recommend to my friends.
EXcellent teacher, cares so much for his students. A lot of opportunities to get extra credit. He gave you lectures with the info that is going to be in the test. Study hard and do not miss class. He is awesome and very passionate for his field. I am passionate now. I got an A. I learned a lot and now I see the cells on a much diferent perspective.
Great teacher! If you are going in to the medical field, I would recommend him. Sure his class isn't easy, but honestly it's college! He gives tons of extra credit so just show up and try. I wish he taught A&P II

First let me that this class is for the strong and not the weak. I started out with 30 kids in my class and ended up with about 10! I happened to be one of the "lucky" ones that passed with a B. Professor Keiper is a great guy and very funny and sarcastic. I am definetely taking API with him. I wish he taught all science classes!
Dr. Keiper is a very great teacher.He explain everything pretty clear and He cares a lot about his students. He is veey helpful. If you just study the lecture notes that he gives you, you will A+

Do not take him, He is a nice professor he is very sarcastic but his test are pretty hard. You have to study and attend classes. He does spounge quizzes to see if you were paying attention. I don't recommend him pick another professor. Not an easy A you have to really study for his class.
Very, very, very challenging professor and class. Each test, especially the first few, are difficult, and studying is mandatory. However, he's very understanding and willing to help if asked. He certainly knows what he is talking about, and he is definitely not a fan of "lazy" students. Take this class if you are interested in biology.
His class is very difficult. He doesn't have any patience and gets upset when the students don't answer his question. I would not recommend anyone to take his class because you have to spend at least six hours per day of study time. He is so boring and sarcastic. Honestly this is the first class that I found challenging since attending Valencia.
DO NOT TAKE!! HORRIBLE!! Notes, lectures and book do not reflect tests. He treats students like they are stupid when they ask any questions and treats them like 2 yr olds when he feels they are misbehaving. Over 1/2 class had to drop his class b/c it is impossible to do well, and being a medical major you have to pass this class.He needs to retire!
ONLINE CLASS - Behavior of Wild Horses. Keiper is rude and condescending. Grades extremely hard, talks down to students and is spiteful of their mistakes rather than being helpful, VERY picky with how you word answers, only answers the emails he feels like answering. This may seem like an easy science credit but do NOT take it
This prof is the easiest prof ever. if u are a lazy student and looking for teacher that dont do anything , this prof is not the right one 4 u. he is the best of all the teachers. if u only study the study guide and pay attention to the course u will have A+ on the class. I had him for 1005 and I have him now for anatomy
don;t expect that u gonna pass this class without studying. u need to study. if u only sudy the study guide that he gives, u'll have 40% chance of passing and u study the power point note of kelly moore, u wil have A+. therer is no way to fail his if u study. he doesn't ask hard questions. everyone should take him for all the Biology courses .
I would not reccomend this professor. I'm sure there are other teachers that could teach anatomy and phys. in a much simpler form than he did. This class was extremely difficult. All the study guides that were supposed to be on tests were never helpful. Many students did not pass this class or dropped it. Do not take him unless you want to fail.
He comes accross as degrading but is actually just really passionate about his job. He is VERY smart and does make students feel quite stupid but thats only to make you study really hard. He goes over informations a zillion times to make sure everyone understands. Ask questions anbd he'll give you a good grade. Take him if Biology is your passion.

He is a very good teacher. The first few classes he will try and weed out those that do not have a thick skin. Once you get pass the rough exterior he can be extremely helpful in understanding a subjuct that may not appeal to everyone. Put in the time to study and listen in class, you will get an A. Ask for help if you need it, he's beter 1 on 1!
I returned to school after 30 + years. This is the Professor you need to help get you back into the groove of college. Very Good Professor. You will learn a lot and study a lot. He is preparing students for A&P I. Please remember this is a college course,to do well in college you have to work for a good grade.
Dr. Keiper is passionate about what he teaches. He expects students to be responsible, review & be prepared for class (something every student should know by now! This is college!) If you have any questions, he is available to answer them & will give you additional material to help you understand! He is awesome & I can't wait to take him again!
Omg this class is no joke, requires alot of study time and devotion to class. Only 7 test and worth 50 pts each. Labs are fun and many opportunity for extra pts. such as,Pop quiz,HW, Labwork, and etc.To pass class must have 490/700. His clas is based on pts. P.S he he has a slick mouth lol...dont get offended.
Dr.Keiper is no joke. Neither is his class. I took him for Biology and I learned a lot. I'm taking him right now for Anatomy I. You have to be willing to work hard and prepare to study after class. He takes lab seriously. Attend!!!
Teacher not professional. First night says, "I don't have to teach. I don't need the money. He always demands responces from students, never a comfortable atmosphere in class. Always negative prospective in class. If you don't know it by now quit. His teaching doesn't reflect the tests. Always last classes to fill. Buy new not used. You need CD.
Teaches depending on his mood. Spends 30min complain/yelling about something that isn't even related to the topic. He isn't very clear, BUT he will practically give you the answer during a test when asked. He will forget a lot of things or will not know the answers. STUDY BETWEEN EVERY CLASS, likes students to give answer.

Dr. Keiper is one of the BEST Anatomy and Physiology Professors out there. He cares about his students if you show you care about the course by performing well PARTICIPATING!! It?s not going to happen. Yes this is a difficult course *in general* it?s not him it?s the course? STUDY. My only regret is he doesn?t teach A&P II.
If your in college, read this, if your in highschool, dont. The course is hard, not the professor, his lectures are excellent, his labs are excellent. Dr. Keiper is tough but that is a good thing for health science classes. Yes he does complain a lot but sometimes I could not blame him. STUDY the next chapter BEFORE class! Show an interest in the material and you will need to read the chapters on your own to really understand the material.
Took him for BSC 1005 and BSC2093 n got As. He is tough sometimes but just so you will learn. With him, As are not impossible or at least Bs. If you score lower than a B, you screw. He likes giving sponges, so it is a need to study after class. Over all, study hard and you get what you work for. Worthy
Professor Keiper is very difficult and has absolutely no patience. His test and sponges are very hard. He gets extremely mad if you ask questions and the way he explains the information is like he is speaking another language. The class is hard no matter who you take, but he makes it worse than it has to be. Be prepared to get insulted every class.
Dr. Keiper is tough bc he wants you to LEARN THE MATERIAL. He complains when he asks questions & no one answers, not to insult you but bc he has PLENTY of experience & knows what is expected. He is an excellent teacher. He expects you to act like a COLLEGE STUDENT & learn the material & study. Student who complain want him to feed them the info.
He's hard but a good teacher. If you pay attention in class, have half a brain, and are willing to put in the work, you can easily obtain an "A" in his class. He does tend to talk down to the class when no one answers but Im sure it gets frustrating teaching something over and over and getting no response. You will learn the if you take him!
Okay I read good and bad comments but still gave him a try what a big mistake I am currently in 3 hr class w/him & he spends 1.5 hrs wasting time bragging how everyone fails and talking to you as a child. This is college lets move on already I am here to learn and with his hard T&Q's every min. counts. If you take him get a recorder & tutor-I did!
Mr. Keiper is a very good professor. His class is not for the lazy. You do have to put in a lot of work and make sure to give yourself plenty of review time after class so your ready for his next lecture. If you really want to learn something and work hard for it, take him. If you're too lazy to put in the effort, go find someone else.
I got A in anatomy 1 and 2, but that was not because of him. It was really hard, I did everything by my self. His class is horrible, nobody understand what he says, and if u ask, u won't get an explanation. Test every class and you'll be insulted every class at least twice. He was the only one available in that schedule, so I had him twice.
Unprofessional, condescending, but knowledgeable. His lectures are boring and the tests are hard, but you will learn what you need by doing the study guides, reading the entire chapter and STUDY! There are worse professors out there, but take another professor if you can. IF you can't- suck it up and go to every class. Give Blood = Extra Credit!

Professor Keiper is the last of a dying breed. This class lays the foundation for the medical field, and he doesn't water it down. If you want to be a great doctor or nurse, take Professor Keiper. He gives plenty of study guides and extra credit to balance the courses level of difficulty. Your grade will reflect the effort you put forth.
Not easy, but the subject wasn't easy. He's an extremely smart guy. Passed with an A but took a lot of studying but it was all worth it. I learned more than any other class!
Def not an easy course. Don't take him if you want an easy A, take him if you want to learn. Exam questions are straight from the book, and the study guides he gives you. He also gives lots of extra credit opportunities and homeworks are freebies. Study hard and you will do well. Passed with an A.
Outstanding professor!! I took A&P I & II with Dr. Keiper and he is in my opinion one of the best professors in academia. Dr. Keiper is extremely knowledgeable and has the student best interest at heart. Yes, you must work hard, but he will give you ample opportunity to learn the material, it is up to you to do the rest. Highly recommend Dr.Keiper
I LOVE PROFESSOR KEIPER! I've taken him for AP1 & AP2 and received A's both times. If anyone is going into the medical field, he is the professor to take! I have taken quite a few courses and would have to say I have learned and enjoyed the most in his class. The subject isn't easy, but he gives more than enough freebies to make an A in his class.
Professor Keiper is worth the hard work. He has been around for so long he knows his stuff. You will be proud after leaving his course with so much knowledge. It was a true honor to be his student. Reading text, attendence and study in between will get you the A. Its a hard work but I feel so prepared. Dont cheat yourself with any other
Very good professor. He knows his stuff and makes sure that you know it as well. If you want an easy A, do not take him, but if you want to succeed in your future courses that are related to biology/ medicine, then choosing him is the way to go
He knows what he's talking about. Professor keiper is extremely helpful he will take his time out of his schedule to make sure you understand the material. Although his class is not easy all you have to do is study. I would take him again in a heartbeat :)

In my opinion, Dr. Keiper is the best professor for this course. He teaches the class in a way that makes it easy for students to better understand the material and the subject matter. I passed Bio 1010 with a "B" because Professor Keiper gives extra credits opportunities. Thank you sincerely Dr. Keiper.
best prof ever. clear and to the point and i got away with barely having to do much however i did read each chapter in the book. i found the notes hindering and liked reading from the book better. he's one of the best science profs at valencia. highly recommended.
You will have to study to earn your A but you will learn a ton. Be patient, learn the material, get to know him and you will find an incredible teacher. As future healthcare professionals we have a responsibility to learn this material and he ensures that we learn it. Go to class, do the homework & study the book, listen & let him guide you.
Prof Keiper is a nice person. The material in this course is extremely hard. There is no way around it. You must read the material and study a ton. Don't sign up for this class if you can't dedicate a lot of time to it. He does his job and answers questions. I learned a lot from this class and thought he was an excellent teacher.
Dr. Keiper is by far one of the BEST professors that I have had throughout my college career. He is very passionate in what he does and committed to his students. This guy knows his stuff! A & P 2 is not an easy course, but he is willing to do whatever he can to help you understand the material and get through his course. We need more like him!
I truly enjoyed taking this course with Dr. Keiper; this guy knows his stuff. Anatomy and Physiology is a tough course, but Prof. Keiper will go out of his way in helping students to understand the material. You must attend lecture and you must read the textbook. If I had the opportunity, I'd take him for other Science courses. GREAT PROFESSOR!

Very disorganized.
I took Professor Keiper for API and am currently taking him for APII. He is very funny and loves to tell stories. His lectures are long, but he will help you if you need it. You need to study after each class. Accepts "late" assignments. Tests are tough but straight forward. You cover everything in class and he gives you the tools you need to pass.
Not the most organized prof. out there. Took this class in a condensed 10wk setting. He cares about his students, very repetitive but if you're paying attention all the repetition is outlining the test questions. Tests are short answer NOT multiple choice. Once you accept his way of teaching and testing, no reason not to get at B at least.
By far the worst class I've taken at VC. He's a super sweet guy and I'm sure he means we'll but this class was a waste of time. Very unorganized, unclear lectures, teaches different terms and concepts than the book. I feel bad because the man is obviously passionate but if you want to understand and learn don't take him.

Kind man & well respected but a disorganized, confused, jumbled mess. Forgets what he taught & re-teaches it. Much of his info is out of date. Still using transparencies & can barely work a powerpoint. Very difficult because he is all over the place. Grading erratic. Run don't walk away from this class. You'll learn nothing & work hard for it.
He may at one point have been a good professor but now it is time for him to retire. He will constantly forget what was asked or what was assigned. He has trouble hearing but will yell at the class that they must "Feel Dumb" for not knowing the answer, even though the class did answer it..
Not only does he not upload grades EVER but he also constantly puts in the wrong grade(s).He barely knows how to use a power point and does everything through paper including grade keeping. He constantly loses your work and will give you other peoples grades by mistake. His lectures are long and often gives the same lecture twice. Very forgetful.
His exams are very easy as long as you study. He can be a little forgetful and is not tech savvy at all; meaning he puts your grades on a sheet of paper in a binder. He gets a little frustrated with students at times. His grading criteria is a little unclear, but for the most part he's a nice guy and a good professor.
