If you suck at writing, he'll tell you, you suck. you need to know how to write a correct paragraft and essay to pass the class. he will be hard on you but is kind of fair.

Dr Lanyi isn't difficult at all. The class is boring & straightforward, and if you stay on task it's a guarenteed A+. His conferences are lame, but it helps u get a better grade plus it's mandatory. He WILL agonize u if u show ur ignorance of the basics.

he has a dry sense of humor but he makes you laugh, and his grading system is a point system. so you can never go down, unless you don't do your work.

Dr. Lanyi, arguably, is the best English teacher I've ever had. He has taught me so much about my writing. His lectures can be quite inspiring. No joke, this man opened my eyes to the of world literature. Plus, he is very helpful with essays.

Dr.Lanyi might look a little scary, but he's OK overall. Remember to shut up when he's talking. All the books he assigned us to read are very interesting and inspiring! He's not very harsh on grading, and he helps you with your essays.

Lanyi is boring, but a easy teacher. Just show up to class and make use you write all the summaries and you'll get a good grade. Easy class and when he shows movies just leave because he only takes roll when a essay is due.

He uses life examples and little jokes to help you understand.He does'nt really have too much patience, but thats usually only if you make dumb mistakes.I learned what i needed to learn from him quite easily, so I think he's a good Prof.

This professor w/o a doubt may intimidate you, but why wouldn't he? He seems to know way more about English than most professors I've dealt with. If you're a procrastinator I suggest you not take this class; however, it's fairly easy and he gives you so many opportunities to get an easy "A"

This is what English is all about. Very clear when he speaks and he makes grammar easy. I took him one year after my entrance to the States and he made English a much easier subject.

Excellent teacher, if you are willing to work. He doesn't like people who want the teacher to do their work for them, so if you're lazy and not really interested in learning don't take him.

i took him last semester and i must say he easy.most students hate him because the way he act but don't let it bug u. grade are base on points to try to earn much has u can.he call on everyone so pay attention,sit in the front so u can see better& write ur name on the board first for one on one.

hes cool, dun have 2 stay in da class but have 2 go 4 attendence. essays are not bad, just dun wait til the last week to turn them in. journals r easy. he doesnt read them, he just checked if they r 5 page long. i copy n paste my friends' xanga w those smiley faces on it and he didnt say anything. just attend lab, he doesnt check work from lab.

He was a great teacher. He seriously changed the way I write papers. Very straight forward and a bit intimidating. Easy A if you do everything that he says.

Mr. Lanyi is a really nice guy when it comes to getting to know his students. He does have a lot of class participation and one on one time most of the class periods. As long as you do your work, you'll come out with at least a B. The last three assignment are mojor so do them!!!!

dude, first of all, he is so ****ing easy. and he does care about his student. absolutely treat students who want to learn with lots of respect. maybe he has a hot temper, but think about this, who give a **** to lazy students

He is really helpful and patient. He cares about students. Just remember to do the One-to-one time, and attend his class everyday. You will be fine, take him!

He's probably the easiest english teacher you'll ever get in college or ever!! The work is completely elementary and is all about sentence structures which is the only thing he really grades u on. If you keep your paragraphs short and simple, there is a greater chance of full credit and for sure you'll get an A, Just do the work. It's really easy.

He is an esay teacher. You just complete all the homework he assigned and you will get an "A" for sure. His one-to-one lesson is very helpful. He gives you enough attention to help you improve your essay grammars significantly.

Prof Lanyi is a great teacher. You'll pass his class with an A if you do all your work. There is no reason to fail this class. He allows you to correct your papers to get a higher grade. He's really intelligent and all he wants from his students is to learn how to write papers correctly.

I dont understand why people rae failing or dropping this class. No stress at all! Just do all required assignments and try to get full credits on it which is not hard. He's funny & helpful when it comes to grammar, punctuation, topic sentence, etc because i learned a lot from him. so MUST TAKE HIM!

To keep it simple, this class is very easy. He doesnt exactly really care about his students. Quick tip to anybody taking his class, always type simpe sentences. Such as : My dog is red. His name is Sparky, istead of combining all of it. Another tip. Dont wait until the last moment to turn in essays. He sucks at teaching but is extremely easy.

Easiest class i ever had. He is really helpful. grades by points so make sure you have enough at the end of the semester. He is funny sometimes and he is very experienced( 30+ years knows wat hes doing) HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

One of my favorite professors at PCC. He's got a witty sense of humor and helped me write much better essays. It was a great class to end the day and I wish I could take him again.

This teacher is pretty easy, sometimes. If you don't understand something and you ask for help he'll make you look stupid, he doesn't like anyone talking in his class. He just looks miserable and mean. I wouldn't take his class again!!!

This professor is fairly easy. He is a good professor. You do need to do your work in order to receive a decent grade. He is helpful. He may come off as rude but he is actually very helpful and nice.

Professor Lanyi was a pretty rude but easy teacher. He gave us a speech on the second day of class on how most PCC students are doomed to fail, that was why most of his students doesn't pass his classes. He was right. The first day we had 40 people; the last week we had 17. At the midterm, there were 6 people who were failing out of 20. I got an A.

Seems mean, but not a really hard class. Grades are based on points. Does one on one with each writing assignment. Gives u 3 tries to get all points on an assignment. I got enough points for an A and I didn't have to do my last essay, or the final in class essay.

Those who say Lanyi didn't teach, well, that's where you are wrong. His lectures are understandable, and if you don't understand something, then ASK! He will answer your questions. Yes, he may be intimidating, but that's to scare off the students who could care less about the class. I got along with him because I care about my education. Do Take!!!

CLASS - EASY. STARTS OFF WITH ONE PARAGRAPH ASSIGNMENTS. MOVES ONTO 5 PARAGRAPH ESSAYS (MIN OF 20 SENTENCES) - WHAT GETS BETTER THAN THAT. ok he is a very easy teacher you will actually learn alot from taking this class! the only problem is that he randomly calls on people when we are doing a class exercise. and if you dont answer correctly he makes you feel like a fool!

Easiest teacher ever! He even encourages you to write simple sentences! Fun essay topics like, "what are ou afraid of", What do you want to be", "3 things you dislike in a friend", etc. etc. Take him! easy A! He does not look like that in that picture! He may look like he wants to murder someone, but he is pretty cool! the work is like elementary!

All you have to do is have a semi clear grasp on the english language and you'll pass. If you think he's hard, just wait until you get a transferable level class. The people that can't pass this class are either unmotivated or non english speakers. He can be mean sometimes but wouldn't you after reading hundreds of boring, crappy essays?
