Awesome teacher, pretty fun classes. Really easy tests and papers. The only bad thing is, he takes forever to e-mail you back.
Very helpful and nice . easy A . Funny stories . Very clear to understand . I would recommend to anyone . (:
Great, laid back teacher! Makes the class a lot of fun. Interesting class. Actually wish I would have waited and took the full 11 wk course with him. You won't be disappointed.
Tough grading on papers! He is one of my favorite professors though--you HAVE to take him. He makes (what could be)a boring subject interesting. I will never be the same since taking this class!
My absolute favorite teacher. quizzes were easy and if you got an answer wrong he gave the class a chance to explain why we put that answer and if he thinks it is a good reason he will change your grade as if you got it right. Is a huge star wars fan but does not like Jar-jar binks lol. Ask him to do an impression of Jar- jar... cracks me up!!!
His tests are not easy. A lot of them are short answer and I study the stuff he tells us to and still never manage to get a grade I accept. It's super boring and I don't recommend him.
He's awesome, definitely take him. His lectures aren't boring, they're very funny. You do need the textbook for this class but mostly just for vocab words. He's easy but you learn a lot. I was disappointed he doesn't teach any other classes, I would've taken them in a heartbeat.
Professor Rountree is a great teacher. Class was fun and he has a good personality. I would not say it was an easy class but if you study and write a decent paper you can get an A, like any other class
He changed the test style every week. This made passing with a good grade extremely difficult. Take his papers seriously, He is not a simple you write it you get an "A" kinda guy. If your looking for an easy class he is not your guy, However, If your in it for the experience and enjoy "nerdy" humor you will probably have a great time.
Great instructor. His lectures were interesting and engaging. Quizzes are in a different format each week making it difficult to do consistently well, but the papers are very easy and relatively low in work. The multiple xtr cred opportunities @ the end of the semester are nice, as well as xtr cred for staying full time (on occasions). Recommend!
Tests were hard, there weren't any reviews, and I was never sure what was on the test, and what to study. class was fun but confusing.
A very good Instructor, however, quizzes are in a wide variation and he intentionally words them difficultly. They are all different, and never gives a review for them. His lectures are very entertaining but he is not an easy A instructor. If you do not like to apply yourself, find someone else to take.
Take good notes, study your notes, study the chapter's vocab and you'll do fine on quizzes. The Final was the only exam and it was mild. He is a funny instructor and highly knowledgeable. His papers were easy imo. Let the writing lab review it for grammar! Could have made my grade for the ISP almost perfect. I highly recommend him for REL 2300.
He is very clear about topics. Basically all you have to know is the stuff he goes over in class are the stuff that are on the test, sooooo take NOTESSSS. He is a very humorous and fun guy and cracks many jokes. He kind of relates to the students....Best teacher I ever had at BCC.
Very helpful and a fairly easy class. Big 3-5 page paper to satisfy the golden rule. Grades that harshly. Other than the paper, it is a good class and i recommend him.
Rountree is a good person, but his methods don't work and his grading is too harsh. You are expected to do fill in the blank quizzes with no word banks after listening to his lengthy, hardly informative, and digressive lectures. There are 2 papers that he grades extra harshly. I'm left frustrated with his lesson plan and approach on things.
LOVED THIS CLASS. He is super helpful and wants nothing bu for you to understand the content and get a good grade. Works with you 100% of the time. Great professor!
He's a great professor and is super neutral on everything. He makes the content easy to understand and is funny too. The book is really not used much and all of his tests are off of his lectures. So take good notes! Great class to take.
He is a great professor and is fantastic at his job! I really enjoyed his class and I learned a lot. I didn't study but i took great lecture notes and got a B. As long as you study you will do fine! His quizzes are somewhat difficult but most are true and false. He can grade papers kinda tough but the class was interesting and he is hilaries!
AWESOME teacher!! one of the best classes I've taken. Tests aren't hard if you study. Papers are hard but plenty of time to write and edit before they are due. Fun class, very interesting, and he keeps it moving. This is my favorite class of all time, mainly because Mr. Rountree is such a great teacher. Take this class!!
Hands down amazing teacher. I went from zero interest or knowledge in religion as a whole to having developed such an interest for it that I plan to study more on the subject. Take notes, participate, and ask questions! He's pretty entertaining too :)
Rountrees class was the most interesting class I have ever had. He turned religion into 'english' and made sense of it with his awesome humor! TAKE THIS CLASS! He will have you cracking up the whole time. Quizzes and final were based off of his lectures and things he wrote on the board. Papers were okay and you have plenty of time to work on them
A great teacher and really funny class. Loves American Football and shares a lot of his personal funny stories. A must take class. Just don't miss any class and take notes.
He is a very good teacher. His class is somewhat kind of hard to get into. With his papers, they are confusing. But he gives you multiple chances to fix your paper grades. he is funny. You don't really need your text books. He teaches his own way. Highly recommended though!
I started class with an open mind and found the lecture Mr. Rountree gave to be most interesting. Highly recommend his class to those interested in seeing different parts of religion and where they come from. Take good notes, pay attention and participate, learning will effortlessly follow.
Class was not just a Saturday in the Park,You have to pay attention & take notes. You will be asked to write papers Once or Twice, but they are explained. Not using the book is such a Hard Habit to Break, but it works. I've been searching for such a long time for a class like this. Make sure you Listen & you should be fine. What an Inspiration!
I loved this class! Highly recommend. Pay attention and take notes. If you do everything required of you, you will get a good grade. Excellent class. Very interesting. I learned a lot that I will actually use in the real world.
Seriously one of the best teachers I have ever had. He teaches well, has a good sense of humor, knows the subject extremely well. I really enjoyed his class.
Professor Rountree is clear, concise, and hilarious! The first paper is a little tough but the second one is fun and also interesting. Don't bother buying the book and make sure you take good notes. Quizzes are based strictly off of lecure so if you attend and take notes you will learn a lot. Also, the guest speakers are fun and knowledgeable.
This was an great class. He tells you everything that is going to be on the quiz during class, so take good notes. He does assign two papers but only one is hard. He gives you chances at extra credit. Also, he is really funny and he keeps the class interesting.
Great Professor! Teaches the class in a way that makes you remember it. Also very funny and easy tests!! Take good notes! He gives you everything you need to know for quizzes and finals.
Mr. Rountree is a great teacher. He gives interesting lectures and helpful notes. His quizzes/exams are easy if you pay attention to the discussions in class. You will learn a lot about religion, and he has a good sense of humor as well. Take this class !!!
Super funny professor, I loves his lectures and he knew how to connect with the class, never left without a good laugh. Gives extra credit, which is nice, ISP paper sucked, MRP paper was fun to write. Tests were super easy and everything he teaches is important so write notes! He knows exactly what he is teaching and was easy to listen to.
This class was the best class I've taken at BCCEFSC. I took it almost three years ago and still think about how awesome it was and wanting to take it again. He makes the information so interesting and enjoyable, I regretted missing a class. He incorporates pop culture and things students can relate to. If you have to take it, take it with him.
So, you watch a lot of Movies, there is no MAJOR paper because your Journal Writings is what counts. This is not an "Easy A" course but he will bend over backwards to help you out. With all of my issues, any other teacher would have failed me. And yet he worked with me to make sure I pass. Take notes and you will be ok. Great class! Great guy!
Philosopher Rountree should be his name. He loves to teach. Very knowledgeable teacher. Down to earth, funny, and easy to get along with. He will joke with you and support your opinion. Don't slack off on Research, Reflection, and Journal (RRJ's). It is one-third of your grade. Like to watch videos? Take this class.
Mr. Rountree is a great teacher, you can see his passion in his lectures. He says he grades his papers really hard especially his first one, but I got a 5150 on it, and the second paper I got a 4850. Just make sure you meet all the criteria... I didn't get any help on the papers and I'm not a writer. Just pay attention and you'll do fine!
he's not hard if you take notes in class. there are six quizzes (no pop quizzes, yay!) if you do good on the quizzes you should do fine in the class. he lays out pretty much everything you need to know. he grades tough on the research paper, but he's totally willing to look over it before and help fix errors.
Rountree is a fairly good professor. When writing the two papers just make sure you follow the directions exactly and you should get a good grade. he knows the religions pretty well. but goes off on tangents. he wasn't always there to help. and i feel like more classroom discussion would of been nice. i probably wouldn't take him again.
Def the most interesting class at EFSC! Makes lectures entertaining! First 2 tests are a little hard but the rest of the tests are easy. The first essay due is very long and boring but the second paper is not hard. You will pass if you take notes. He provides many opportunities to provide extra credit. Goes off topic a bit but very knowledgeable!
Great Teacher! Grades papers easily! Final is pretty much just all your quizzes combined!
Professor Rountree is the best professor at EFSC. Easy-going, fun guy. Grading isn't tough, but his classes aren't BS. Minimal effort will get you a B, modest effort and above will get you an A. Either way, you'll learn a lot of cool stuff. Everyone should take both classes he teaches.
Professor Rountree has wonderful well thought out lectures and his ability to explain things so that you can fully understand them is a true gift! He is understanding, fair, and compassionate. The first paper is graded the toughest of the two. Pay attention to lectures and take notes and you will do well on the quizzes.
I have taken this class at least three times with different professors. This teacher is amazing. very clear on what he wants. I would recommend him to everyone!
Mr. Rountree is a good professor for World Religions. Instead of using boring textbook lectures, he tells you exactly what you need to know. He's a funny guy with weird stories, but as long as you pay attention in class, you'll pass the quizzes and get an A. Don't miss class, and turn in your papers ON TIME. Papers are a huge part of your grade.
Mr. Rountree is one good professor. His journals are pretty easy as long as you put effort into them. He has a few quizzes.. not too bad. I loved him! If you go to class, participate, and work hard on his journals you'll definitely pass the class. Pay attention during lectures as well! You will never leave class NOT learning something interesting!
Only three quizes, assigns journals, they are a must do, if you don't do them, you will not pass the class. Don't procrastinate them either like I did, else you'll be stuck up all night before the day you turn them in. Do one at least every week, there's 20 pages you have to write, subject to change. Don't stress about the quizzes.
If you want to learn and have fun at the same time then Mr. Rountree is definitely the professor for you. His teaching methods are phenomenal; one of the best I've ever had. He offers some extra credit and is always willing to help out. I would take him again in a heartbeat.
Mr. Rountree is a good professor. I wasn't sure if I was going to enjoy the course but he definitely made sure the material was understood. Take notes and pay attention! You will be fine! I got a 93% on my research portfolio!!!! I would recommend any student to take this World Religions course with him. I would take it again!
Hes super funny and knows what hes talking about!
This guy is hilarious and passionate about his job. Great professor, always in a great mood, just do all the work, take notes and study and you will get an A. There is a big project at the end, it isn't a lot of work but it is time consuming. He tells you about it the first week of class so don't procrastinate.
Mr Rountree ran off topic at times however loves what he does and it comes across in his work. The test were fairly simple. If you attend class and take notes, you will do well in his class. He provided extra credit options and all of tests were from class lectures. Plus he is not to bad to look at
Rountree is an inspirational individual. I looked forward to his class every week knowing that I would leave a more educated and well-rounded person. It's obvious that he LOVES what he teaches and his passion is contagious. If you participate and do your best you'll finish with a good grade and an understanding for the humanities.
He's a great professor, ran off topic as stated, but still very into his job. He made learning Religion enjoyable and fun. You have quizzes almost every week and have a 10-page term paper due at the end of the semester, not that difficult though. If you miss class you won't get the material unless someone else takes phenomenal notes, no skipping!
He was really great as a professor. He loves class discussions, and he is very funny. He gives a 10 page portfolio that's due at the end of the semester and even goes over a page in your portfolio at any point before the due date and tells you what's wrong or what you could do better. Phenomenal teacher.
Mr. Rountree is an amazing professor. He is very understanding, wants his students to do well and he is extremely knowledgeable. If you go to class and take notes you will do well on his tests. There's a 10 pg research portfolio due at the end of the semester but he lets you work on it all semester long. I loved his class!
My favorite teacher of all time. He really sparked my interest in religions the humanities and so many more subjects. His lectures are great and so easy to pay attention to, I love the stories he tells about his life, and you can tell he's interested in what his students have to say. An all-around great guy. I'll miss him & his class.
You can tell he thoroughly knows his field and cares for the subjects he is teaching, it is inspirational. He always seemed engaged in the class and his students. Definitely take his class you will not regret it, it can be life changing.
Mr. Rountree is a GREAT teacher. You will write a fair amount but it is not a lot at one time. His lectures are very informative and I learned so much. He is also a very nice person and will work with you on anything if you have questions. I highly recommend.
This is one of the classes that you will reflect back on throughout your life. I really enjoy his class (Night class) I was always sent home with refreshing thought and increased knowledge. Thanks for the great class!
I had Mr. Rountree for Themes in Humanities-Film and it has been my favorite class I've taken at Eastern Florida. He engaged the class in inspiring and thoughtful discussions which I loved. The movies we watched were really good and he is very nice and sociable. If I could take another humanities course with him I would.
Take notes, everything on the test he says in class. You're graded on the quizzes which are 10-20 questions every other week, and the portfolio that is turned in near the end of the semester, I suggest to start on the portfolio early on and utilize the writing lab. Genuinely cool guy, was always there at the end of class for a question or a chat.
GREAT TEACHER, Kept my interest every class the whole class. His class is the only class I have ever left and felt like I learned something each time. There is a 10 page portfolio for any of his classes but it is 10 one page papers. EASY B class. Took him for Humanities and in World Religions now. He's really funny and has good choice in films
Mr. Rountree is such a good teacher and person. His lectures are hilarious, he lets the class participate; he is very respectful to everyone no matter what race you are. I would not pass this class without his help. His test are easy, if you study you will pass.
Awesome professor. Very understanding and helpful. Doesn't ask for much, but it helps to participate in discussions. Lectures a lot, but it's usually pretty interesting. Lots of opportunities for extra credit so take advantage.
SUPER funny! Majority of the class is taking notes. He makes you do a 10 page portfolio. Hes a pretty tough grader on the portfolio so its not something you can do the night before.
He is so very sweet and funny. I overall enjoy him. Sometimes he just drags on and talks the entire time.
Mr. Rountree is the best! I always looked forward to his class due to the material he showed us. It was always interesting. Take notes when he talks and what he writes on the board. It will show up on a quiz. Pay attention when he talks, watch the videos and you should be good for his quizzes. Build portfolio as you go. Highly recommend.
Super easy class, lots of movies and pictoral art. Mr. Rountree keeps the class enjoyable and interesting. Just make sure you write your papers and youll be good.
Mr. Rountree is an awesome professor. There hasn't been a single class that I haven't laughed at least once. There are a few boring subjects in the humanities that we covered, but he does his best to make it simple and to the point. Quizzes are something you need to study for, and the 10 page portfolio is something you should progressively work on.
Mr. Rountree is the professor that really got me interested in the humanities! His lectures are fun and engaging, and his quizzes are easy if you take notes during the lectures. He gives a portfolio assignment for the semester, and I would suggest working on it gradually; it's a pain to do all at once at the end of the semester. Would take again!
The prof was super specific on how we were going to be graded. He basically lectured everytime and you took notes but it wasn't boring. There were 6 quizzes and a final. At the end of the semester you had to turn in a 10 page portfolio but he gave you chances to write less by going to an event or by doing service learning.
Mr. Rountree was an amazing person to have as an instructor for my first semester. The class is based around taking accurate notes from the lectures he gives. I always left the class entertained and informed. He is a database of knowledge and can hold a conversation on just about anything you talk to him about.
Professor Rountree was extremely nice. If you study and pay attention his class should be fairly easy. Lots of extra credit available.
He is an awesome teacher. He covers a lot in a short period of time but you will get a lot of knowledge from his lectures. He is very caring about your grades. He has two portfolios due to one in the middle and one at the end. Do not wait until the last minute to do them.
He gives two portfolios and you must do them! He cares about his students and what you guys are learning. He tries to get people to come in and speak. He is always there for you if you need him. I have taken him for Humanities also. I had him for world half way through the semester online because the corona virus.
Moved online mid-semester from COVID, and I missed it. This class was the most fun course I have ever taken! Prof Rountree is an amazing and intelligent professor, who always has fun stories to tell. He showed the most amazing films in that class and suggested other great films. The only work was a portfolio due at the end. Prof Rountree is great!
Professor Rountree is very goofy with lots of dad jokes and stories but his class was overall on the easier side. Minimal tests, small quizzes, and mostly lectures. Would recommend.
I took the on-line course this summer and it was self paced. There were 2 due dates, first paper and end of semester portfolio project. Weekly discussion boards. I learned a lot about World Religions. Word of advice is not to wait until the last minute to start your portfolio project if assigned. It is not difficult but takes time.
Prof Roundtree was great. I took world religions during COVID, and got an experience that was amazing, but different than regular classes with him. He was quick to respond to emails, and helps those who ask. 100% would take it again. Also a 4th credit option for those looking for it. Easy class in general, and is a great humanities course.
The overall class was easy, I got an A with barely any effort. He did offer extra credit for voting, however I couldn't vote and he didn't offer any alternative so that sucked. There's only 4 grades: 1) Participation in discussion boards 2) Religious Experience Paper 3) Research Portfolio (mine was around 25 pages) 4) Final Exam Essay
I took Prof. Rountree's World Religions class this past semester entirely virtual, which was very different for many of us. He's a great professor, one that wants to ensure his student have every thing they need to know to do well in his class as well as other classes. He is also very accessible outside of class. I would highly recommend him!
The class consisted of watching lots of movies/films and posting a discussion about them. Had to do a 10-page portfolio on 10 films of your choosing and correlating them to a theme. He responded to emails within 24 hours. A pretty simple class. Seemed like a nice guy though it was an online course.
One of the best Professors. I had heard about his classes before I took them because everyone just loved being in class with him. He is inspiring and a really approachable, cool teacher. I would take every class he teaches if I could plus I learned a lot AND laughed alot!
If you take this class in the smaller time frame, be aware of deadlines. There are only four grades total but that does not mean to wait until they are due. Begin the projects as soon as class starts to finish on time. This class was so informative and interesting, I feel like I learned so much; also, this professor is excellent!
Hey was amazing, DO NOT start the papers last minute. Start doing it the moment you can, it will save you a lot of time and stress.
Rountree was a great professor. He did a lot of different things that he wouldn't normally do because of COVID. He tried to make the best out of it since he couldn't do what he normally does for our class. He rambles a lot and got off topic so easily. He was great overall. DO NOT WRITE YOUR ESSAYS LAST MINUTE.
Very easy class. No tests. Weekly discussion posts, one research paper, 10 page portfolio, and final exam was two page essay. Easy grader, stays on top of grades so you always know where you stand in the class. Do not wait to start portfolio.
No textbook needed. Professor is kind and helpful. Took this online during summer, one discussion a week, very easy to do. Only thing is, there are two large assignments to be done through the semester. A paper, and a ten page portfolio. Do not procrastinate. They are easy to do once you start them.
One personal religious experience paper - watch a youtube sermon live and its easy filler writing. Another assignment is 10 pages, each on a certain topic and you choose the content, again easy filler but time-consuming. Final is 2 pages each of which you choose the topic from a selection. There are weekly DBs for the first half of the class. Easy!
Simple class, easy A if you do the work. Two small papers (one the final, another writing about a virtual religious service), weekly discussion, and one massive 10 page research paper that determines your grade. The paper is a pain, but overall, the workload is light. I recommend taking Composition 1 with or before this class.
He set us up for success with clear instructions, flexible pacing, resource recommendations, & optional Zoom meetings for questions. Class modules were not organized by week making it hard to navigate, but he always answers questions within a day or two. His prioritizes fostering curiosity, independent thought, and maintaining ethical boundaries.
Best professor I have ever had. It was philosophy and he makes the class interesting by telling funny stories and talking about real life. He's super genuine and understanding. Definitely take this class, my favorite class I've ever taken.
super easy class and interesting. his grading is very straightforward and pretty quick. 100% would take him again.
His rating speaks for itself. His philosophy class was very fun and entertaining and Rountree is very funny and charismatic. There were only two essays (both not that difficult), the final, and an attendance/participation grade. He heavily values participation.
hands down the best professor i have ever had, his personality shines extremely bright and brings tons of important insight and knowledge to the class
10/10 would take this class again. Very informative and passionate about what he teaches. He makes the class enjoyable and fun to learn.
He is a very personable guy, and a lot of his lectures, while long, are intertwined with personal anecdotes. He is easy to talk to, and understanding of extenuating circumstances, so please reach out to him. The only negative comment is that the lectures are auditory only, which is hard for me as a visual person, and there are only 3 assignments.
Took his 8 week mini summer semester and I absolutely loved it! You can tell he's knowledgeable and more importantly passionate about his subject. Discussion posts are easy, one visit to a religious service was required which was enjoyable, the last major grade was a 13 page paper but he gives a good amount of time between the lengthy assignments.
I honestly cannot say much about him because I took his class online and never once reached out to him but this class was okay. Lower rating because a 13-page paper is insane, but the class was okay. The class felt very disconnected, he didn't give much feedback and it wasn't always clear what we were supposed to be learning.
This is my 2nd class w/ prof. Rountree.Absolutely love him!He is super chill and fun.Makes lectures engaging but can go off on tangents. 10/10 recommend.Take notes, no test or quizzes. 2 papers, one religious experience(easy) and 1 research portfolio (easy but time consuming).Super respectful of the different religions, I feel like I learned a lot.
Professor Rountree was funny and caring. His class was lecture-heavy, but he made most of them interesting. Participation/attendance was important. Only a few assignments and he didn't grade harshly. He offered extra credit and brought in guest speakers for two classes which was cool. I recommend taking him for any required core classes.
he is a very good professor and is very funny. the class isn't too hard there's one paper you have to write where you go to a religious place of worship and a portfolio that you write throughout the semester. attendance is graded and as long as you take notes you will pass the final. overall a great class would take again
Professor Rountree makes this class engaging and fun to learn. The workload is reasonable, and Unstuck ai is a great tool to supplement studying. Would definitely take again!
Professor Rountree is super helpful. He lets students submit papers multiple times for feedback before the final submission. He grades fairly, offers extra credit, and makes success achievable if you put in the effort. I have an A, and if you don't finish with a good grade, it's because you didn't try to be honest.
Professor Rountree is great! He lets you submit your big paper multiple times before it's due to help you earn the best grade. His grading is beyond fair, he's always available during school hours and replies fast. Super helpful and supportive!
Professor Rountree was an amazing teacher! He is absolutely hilarious, and his lectures are a lot of fun! You are graded on an essay, portfolio, and your final assignment wise, so participation matters. However, he makes it easy to want to participate rather than being forced to. I had a great experience with his class, and would recommend!
I took Professor Rountree's class online, and the class was light for the most part. There are discussions every week, but the main assignments are the experience paper and the 10-page research portfolio. BEWARE OF THE FINAL TWO PAPERS. He assigned it on Sunday of finals week due on Tuesday. Terrible timing made my studying schedule stressful
I loved this course as one of the first classes I took at this college. I wish I could have him for each of my subjects. He gives amazing lectures and makes everything related to the real world However beware of your time and management because if you fall behind on your portfolio then you might not pass the class.
A great professor this was my second time taking him previously for humanities I love how he talked about each religion on how they would have wanted to be represented and how he gives a clear understanding each class this made it very easy to write a portfolio.
Class consisted of weekly discussion posts and 3 major papers. It did not require much work but it was still informative. The only thing that made this class slightly difficult was starting the research portfolio later than I should have. The professor was extremely nice and understanding
