PROFESSOR SLAVIN IS THE BOMB! THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE BMCC.

This guy ROCKS! He teaches you what you need to know and doesn't confuss you by killing you with alot work. He is an easy A but you have to study and know the material. An A is not hard to come by in his class if you work for it and show up for class.

This man is goooooood. He knows his stuff, if u take good notes and study then you will definately pass. He's very fair with the grading...HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

To tell you the truth, this semester Slavin was a bit confusing. Mostly because I had to study my BUTT off to pass my nursing course. Make sure that you read his handouts word for word. Must know EVERYTHING. Some professors focus on certain parts of the body systems. Slavin wants you to know the drugs, treatments on the systems. That's good 2 know.

BEST. He gives lectures, gives out notes and pamplets so you can study and he reviews in every test he gives. No surprises in the exams he gives and he gives bonus questions in every test,if you know it all its extra points in you exam. No need to buy the A&P book, everything is in the notes and handouts. I took him for Bio 425&426 got A's in both.

Dr.Slavin teaches very well. He is very clear and make every effort to explain his lectures. He provides addition materials to help his students study and understand the course.His main objective is to make sure that we understand the subject.He also has a great sence of humor, which makes it comfortable to be in his class.He is a great professor.

Professor slavin is one of the coolest professor in BMCC.Everyone recommend to take slavin but not everyone finds it easy because he gives exams both from notes and books. Basically there is a lot of study to do. Above all i lie him.

Dr. Slavin is a very considerate professor. He loves his students and tries to help. He took the time out of his busy schedule to provide us with handouts. He recommended that we do not have to get the most recent biology book. Please bear in mind also that you have to work hard in his class to get your A, because he is unpredictable.

Professor Slavin is a great professor. He makes the material interesting and fascinating. He's not a hard grader because he wants it to be about enjoying the class and getting into nursing school instead of about stress. I wish more professors were like him. I will always remember the great time I had in Professor Slavin's class.

Prof. Slavin is that rare educator who makes learning enjoyable, no matter how difficult. He is a gifted instructor. You have to study and take good notes and to succeed in his class, always re-read your class notes after every class, and rewrite them neatly if you have time that day, you'll remember somethings said in lecture to add to notes.

I had Slavin for both of my bio classes and he is awesome, he REALLY cares about every one of his students, he is very helpful, and he makes bio fun and enjoyable. i recommend him to everyone. just make sure u show up to his class ready to listen and take quick notes , write everything he says and writes and study all of his handouts= easy A

PROFESSOR SLAVIN IS NOT A BAD PROFESSOR AT ALL, SOMETIMES GUMPIE. HE CARES ABOUT HIS STUDENTS PASSING BY GIVING EXTRA CREDIT. HE DRAWS A LOT ON THE BOARD WHICH IS NOT HELPFUL ON EXAMS. Dr. Slavin is one of the best professor's at BMCC. He gives you the material you need to pass his class and makes his class lectures interesting. If you are interested in learning and NOT JUST GETTING AN EASY A, take his class you will not regret the time spend.

The greatest proffessor on the face of this earth! he not only caresa about teaching you the material but wants you to understand it and even use it to help yourself. He's always recommending something, he's patient, funny and cute. you can go wrong, make sure you study his notes and you will pass with flying colors. plus he offers extra credit !

Slavins Class is really a lot of fun, his teaching style is really great everything is on these handouts and in his notes. There really isn't much to it not alot of work or reading from the text. I am happy I got my A.

He is a very nice guy with incredible knowledge but most of the stuff he says its just impossible to remember. He skipped three chapters and that is the downside. Final is not mandatory if you are happy with your grades form the other exams he gives- big plus!!! Doesnt use the textbook at all, gves handouts for each topic. Overall great guy!

Awesome professor. Gives a lot of information. Tests are multiple choice and are straight from the information he gives. No surprises here. Keeps the class going. Great sense of humor. Extremely helpful. Register ASAP for this guy, because his classes become full before you know it.

I recommend him. He does teach well and if you pay attention you do learn. He gives alot of bonus questions which are simple so it gives you more of a chance of getting an A. I would take him again. Be ready to write like you've ever had before. He does not use powerpoint so bring extra pens and pencils.

Great professor who keeps class interesting by teaching subject matter while incorporating real life examples of disease, symptoms, medicines, etc. He also adds funny stories of his family and friends in his lectures. If you take notes and study his hand outs, passing with an A is possible. Recommend taking him for all required science courses.

This professor is really good and highly recommended. But he drives u crazy with all his drawings on the board. The best BMCC has to offer!

This is not an easy class as some of the other reviews imply--you have to pay attention, take good notes, follow his fast pace and study hard. However, Dr. Slavin is interested in having successful students, so he does provide extra credit and copious handouts. His anecdotes are funny and helpful, and he's a cool person and fair grader.

He is a great, humorous and understanding. I always enjoy his teaching. I took his two classes A&P 2 and Pathophysiology. Easy A if you pay attention to his class. I highly recommend this Professor.

He's an absolute genius. Very, very helpful. He takes the time to type out easy to understand notes for his class. Also offers extra credit & a chance to make up tests you were absent for. Just pay attention and take great notes and this class will be a breeze. Slavins also got a great personality. Highly recommended!

Wow. Professor Slavin is amazing. He emails you quickly and answers all of your questions. He is very knowledgeable and is very funny. His exams are straight forward, even though they can be very long, over 100 questions. Study and work hard. Thank you prof. u are amazing.

ATTENTION ALL NURSING STUDENTS: this is the teacher 2 take if you want an "A". STRESS FREE CLASS. No homework, No textbook, teacher hands out ALL the handouts u will need 2 study 4 test, Test r ALWAYS multiple choice, drops lowest grade, lots of notes 2 take down in class but not 2 worry because handouts have same information. REALLY COOL TEACHER!

NURSING STUDENT: take this teacher if u want an "A". However, students feel they can get by with cheating on tests. Cheat now and u will soon find out that the nursing program requires u to FULLY understand A&P 1 & 2. u will not make it if you don't know these classes. Word 2 the wise, study and don't cheat in AP because in the end it will get you.

He's a really nice guy and he knows his stuff. Bottom line is, if you want an easy A, he's definitely your guy, but if you want to actually learn A&P, don't take him. His tests are all multiple choice (with extra credit). He never uses the text, gives you all the info you need, usually doesn't take attendance, is often late. Very understanding.

Lets clear things up, this is not an easy "A" as being said. Yes,easy to obtain IF U STUDY HANDOUT, but in no way does he just give u an "A" if u don't know what u R doing. u can also get an "A" if u cheat but u will fail in the nursing program, trust me. Don't stress in having to write his LONG notes,Slavin gives all u need 2 get "A" in hand outs

Great profeesor. uses real life examples and even told us about natural remedies. he was very funny and his life stories were realy interesting. however, the way he writes his notes is a bit confusing.

Great professor...great sense of humor...i enjoyed being in his class and learned alot...he's very easy and gives you handouts and review tests to understand the material even better...his tests are very easy and gives alot of extra credit...i definitely got an A in his class...i highly recommend him

Knowledgeable,professional,always in good humor,explains well and answers all questions. Printed handouts contain all needed for tests and future NUR. Generous when grades. He's not very strict but will make you study his handouts and in class notes for exams He's late once in a while about 5-10minutes which I didn't mind since i was coming all the way from Westchester. He will emphasize on drugs and pathology which is important for nursing students. He gives plenty of extra credit on his exam. I would take him again.

Many profs. teach the same rigid & conventional manner however Slavin goes further into subjects that truly matter especially if you're major is nursing. Has no problem answering questions during & after class or even in emails. All exams come from handouts & his lectures so take good notes. Drops lowest grade. Overall great demeanor.

Easy grading , he gives extra credits in the exam , which really helps to achieve a better grade . But, he will make you study all his notes , which is more than for nursing program .

Loved his Summer class! Exams are ONLY from HANDOUTS & your NOTES. He curves. EXCELLENT lecture NOTES & study GROUP are the KEYS to getting A. BEWARE: taking good notes is CHALLENGING. We RECORDED lectures, PHOTOGRAPHED drawings, GROUP STUDY DAYLY in library 4-8 hours, including week-ends = 28-40 hours/week. All in our group got A! You can too!

This Prof will work with you, you fail only if you want to. Exams on handouts and notes he writes on the board WHICH IS A LOT. Pretty lax professor tho & over the coarse of the semester he def changed up in a good way (came in on time, kept class for whole period, harder exams etc...) anyway he is worth taking

He is wonderful. He knows his stuff he teaches what is important for nursing students. He gives a lot of handouts with everything you need to know. No need of textbook everything is in the handouts. Really laid back. He is the best professor for this subject!

he is not organized but he does teach with chalks, not reading, not reading powerpoint slides. 5 exams (at least one is take home) and drop the lowest. NO LAB which is great. Read the handout and jot down the note. you can go extra miles by reading the book

He is the best professor I ever had. He is very knowledgeable and smart. He knows A&P so well that he teaches this class without any textbook or notes. He gives lots of notes and draws/writes them on the board. I love his listening to his lectures.

You want get good grades? Take him. Hes relaxed and easy. You want to go crazy then dont take him. He makes your student life easy. His tests are simple and you can pass if u smartly study.

Professor Slavin was the absolute blast to learn from. Also, the rating below me, sadly he has retired.

3 exams, two make up majority of the grade the lowest makes up a smaller percentage. He tends to talk about random stuff at times but he's funny. The papers he hands out are important as well as the study guide. The guide doesn't cover all so always study off of the handouts as well. He doesn't drop grades so make sure you study ahead of time.
