his expectation are super high! his work from the book is actually easy but when it comes to grading he is super picky especially with his writing exam He expects you to already learn all the requirements for his class! So in this case the only thing about his class is that if your class average is low he would totally put guys down!

PLEASE WHATEVER YOU DO! DO NOT TAKE SMITH! Smith is a very educated man, but when it comes to clarity and helping his students, he replies, "I taught you, if you don't understand that's not my problem." EXPECT to be humiliated and receive no credits on every writing draft. He will allow you to revise, but relies on you to learn what he can't.

Condescending and thinks critically thinking means following HIS rule set only. He's biased on his approach and doesn't take a holistic approach to teaching you. Straight from the book, strict, follow my orders kind of teacher. No tech at all. Can't miss a day, or turn in late work if life hits you. He's hard and says it for the better, but is it?

I had the honor of being in two of Professor Smith's class; the first being in 2014 and the second in 2018. If you have read Paul Trout's "Student Anti-Intellectualism and the Dumbing Down of University" (1997), these ratings by students is its epitome. I took Ronald Smith's course online, and I have to say that was the biggest stroke of luck in my educational career. In person would have been 100x more difficult, even so we started out with around ~25 students and finished with 7. The man has become obsessed with grade inflation, often the highest grade being a low B. SKIP. THIS. CLASS.

My teacher is great because he truly cares about students understanding the material, not just finishing work. He keeps class engaging through discussion and real examples, making learning interesting. The workload is reasonable and meaningful, which helps students stay focused and motivated. Overall, the class is enjoyable and effective.
