Good teacher. Very Flexible. Very Helpful. Obviously has an outstanding mastery of the topic.
Seems like a really nice guy. His class isnt hard, and he makes it interesting. Very fair with grading and tests arent that bad. I would definately recommned him.
He was really awesome. I just have to go to class, and listen to the lectures. You can't let your mind wonder.
great teacher
Best teacher ever. He keeps you interested in the subject material. Reviews everything that is on the test the day before it. Gives a quiz about every week, but that keeps you knowing the subject material.
Great teacher! Gives about 10 quizes through the semester (they're only 10 questions each) and they're very easy as long as you sorta pay attention in class. His tests are pretty easy and if you go over your quizzes they'er even easier! However, he does give you 2 essay questions on the tests. They're not too hard though. He also does a review.
wonderful teacher
The class was supposed to be about politics, but was mostly about the Constitution instead. Still, a very easy class where all you had to do is show up and pay attention and you'll pass every test and quiz. You do need to take notes, but that's all you really need to do.
Great professor...keeps you interested in his lectures because he has a real passion for history and politics. Gives 10 easy quizzes that really bump your grade up. Just show up and pay attention most of the time and you're set. The tests are fairly simple although they consist almost solely of true/false. The 2 essays are always fairly simple.
He was one of the best teacher's I've ever had. He gives you these little 10 point quizzes that really help your grade. He reviews for all tests the day before and reviews for midterm. I would take him again if I had the chance.
Great Teacher, Answers any question you might have. Gives quizzes that help you for your test. Very Hard to Fail him only if you put no effort whatsoever
He is very funny, and easy. Just make sure you attend the class, and you should do good. Also, he doesn't teach put of the textbook, so you will never use it.
Easy instructor. Read the books, write the papers, go to class, and write good notes. Not too hard at all.
Great Professor! If you go to class and listen to the lectures you will do well on tests. His lectures are enjoyable, and this is coming from someone that has never been into politics. He does a great job of helping the class to remember the material, as he uses examples that are easy relate to.
He is great, funny and you will NOT get bored. He keeps you interested in every subject he talks about. He's very professional and did I mention he's funny? There are 10 quizzes which are easy and will boost your grade and 4 tests which come from the quizzes.
Awesome teacher, absolutely loves his subject and loves teaching it. He's very funny, and every lecture is great. Just make sure you get to class on time, because he doesn't let people come in after the starts lecturing.
Mr. Traylor is very nice but he practically put me to sleep with his lectures. The quizzes are easy and a really good grade booster but the test are very long and you have to read three articles that have 10 questions each on the test.
He's an incredible educator. He's not only extremely knowledgable, he's funny and makes you understand everything perfectly. His exams are a little tricky, but his quizzes help you out a lot. Get him if you can!
THIS MAN WAS THE BEST PROFESSOR I HAD BY FAR! Take this class! On the first day you might get freaked out when he says there will be 10 quizes but it ends up really helping. If you mess one or two up it won''t affect your grade and you can use the quizes as study guides. His tests are word for word from the quizes! TAKE HIM! you won't regret it!
He was super easy and nice. 3 book reviews, mid term and final!
hes great, the only way you can make less than a B in this class is if you dont go..
I really enjoyed this class and learned alot about our government. All you have to do is come to class and take good notes. Only have to read a few pages out of the book. He's interesting as well. Test are multiple choice and true/false. Some can be tricky but still good class. I recommend him.
I couldn't stand history but he made it so interesting and never got bored. There are 10 easy quizzes that come straight from the notes and 4 tests that come from the quizzes and the reader articles. He also doesn't believe in memorizing dates. I would highly recommend him!
Awesome professor. passionate about the subject. Just go to class, write as much as you can. He does not let you in after he starts lecturing, but i noticed he gives slack on quiz days. there are 10 quizes and i think 5 or 6 tests. straight from notes. sometimes likes to trick you with wording on tests. would recommend.
He is really enthusiastic and likes the information he teaches. HOWEVER he takes every chance he gets to insert his own conservative views into his lectures. It is really offensive and annoying if you do not agree with him. He tries to enforce his views on his students and that is not a good thing.
I LOVED Dr. Traylor. He was a great teacher and goes out of his way to help you. Make sure you go to class b/c all of the test are straight from his lectures. He truly cared about his students and I would recommend taking him!
this is not a hard class to begin with but this man makes this class beyond easy!! he is extremely nice and extremely helpful! his quizzes are super easy!! tests are online just like every other se class!i hope i can take him for my history classes!!
It was like talking history with your grandfather. Do your work and you will have little difficult making a good grade.
Dr. Traylor is super-nice and his exams/quizzes are easy if you show up for classes and take notes. He's not difficult at all. I hate political science but he actually made it interesting. I made high As on all exams, and the quizzes are easy as long as you pay attention to his wording, because he can be tricky on his True/False questions.
Dr. Traylor is an excellent professor. His class is very easy and his tests are straight forward. As long as you go to class and take good notes then you will do good. There is no final exam or midterm, only a regular test during these times on the section we are on. He is a very nice person and I thoroughly enjoyed having him as a teacher.
Dr Traylor was a very good teacher but I had issues with his weighted grading scale, which was not really explained to us until the last day of classes. I knew exactly what I had to make on my final, based on our points on Blackboard, made it with a .7959 and still was not given a B due to pop quizzes that I missed on EXCUSED absent days. Unfair
He is an excellent teacher and a great lecturer. My only problem with him is his book reviews. You have to frame your papers around questions he gives on a handout, which I didn't like. If you're a decent writer you'll get annoyed because he scratches out your perfectly valid words and writes in the wording he would use and penalizes you for it.
Dr Traylor is SUCH an awesome teacher! I am awful at history and currently have almost an A in the class. You can tell he is very passion about this subject and absolutely loves teaching. if you do not attend class you will not pass. his notes are oral and has pop quizes. I would recommend him to EVERYONE!
Dr. Traylor is the best. He makes class interesting and really makes you learn. I'm taking him again, but this time for history. Take him if you want to enjoy class, learn info, and do well. I made an A.
He is a great professor. I didn't study for any of his test and ended the course with a B. Maybe if I would have looked over my notes a little I would have an A. In my opinion easy A or B, its your choice!
Dr. Traylor is an excellent professor. He really wants you to learn the material. As long as you attend, take notes and study you're golden. He's a tough grader on the papers though.
He is the best! 8 quizzes, 4 tests, and 8ish pop quizzes. Pop quizes are easy because he only does them for attendance purposes. Go to class and take notes, easy A. Traylor is awesome and extremely nice!
My favorite professor!!! He was very easy, and all his lectures were very clear. Take the notes, it is exactly what is on the test! He also gave pop-quizzes, but they were not graded. It was just an incentive to come to class and get easy extra points! Would recommend him to everyone!
AMAZING!!! Super informative and easy, you will LOVE this guy!!
Easily my favorite teacher on campus! Very fair and will answer questions before, during, and after class. He does give "pop quizes" from time to time when people don't attend but the answer is usually on the board. When I see him in public we always have a short chat and he asks about how everything is going. He honestly cares. AWESOME teacher!!!!
Prior to Dr. Traylor's class, I had no interest in Political Science. However, I enjoy his lectures and it is obvious that he enjoys teaching! Attend class and take good notes and you're set for success! Dr. Traylor is THE best!
Dr. Traylor is the most outstanding professor I have ever had. As long as you go to class it is almost impossible not to get an A. I hardly studied and ended up with an A. He teaches like he's telling a story. I learned more in this class than I have in my entire college career. Most enjoyable class I've had. Take him, you won't regret it.
Dr. Traylor is a wonderful professor! Coursework consists of two tests, three book reviews, and scheduled and unscheduled quizzes. I learned so much in his class, and he is very enthusiastic and helpful. I'm minoring in history because of this professor!
If you have an option to take Traylor for any class at all take it. He is extremely nice and helpful. He makes the class interesting and the quizzes and tests reflect exactly what he gives in the notes. He doesn't like people to miss class though. He gives easy one question pop quizzes when people are absent. Loved his class.
Amazing guy and great class. I took it as a term class and Louisiana history was fun. Makes a lot of jokes and tells history like a story instead of just facts. The tests were all True or False but he tries to trick you on them so pay attention. Can't wait to take him again!
Awesome guy. Very helpful, easy tests and quizzes. Quizzes given randomly which is good if you attend every class
Dr. Traylor loves what he teaches and he makes you interested. He gives 8 quizzes and 4 exams, plus "pop quizzes" super easy. He gives those when people aren't in class and there is no way to fail the "pop quiz." Take good notes and go to class. Take if you want a good history grade.
AWESOME TEACHER!!! 8 QUIZZES 4 TEST! POP QUIZES EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE! IF YOU TAKE GOOD NOTES YOU WILL PASS EVERYTHING! WHAT HE TEACHES YOU WILL BE ON TEST! NO BOOK!!! TAKE HIM!!
Very good Instructor. If you like hearing interesting stories about history. He is the instructor to take. Very clear and organized. He KNOWS his information. Bring recorder he has a wealth of information. If writing notes you will take at least 6-10 pages per class. Study notes and come to class. Easy A
One of the best teachers I have taken. I took him for poli. 201 and he couldn't have made learning the constitution easier. He gives 2 quizzes before each test, but they are easy and I found them to help me prepare for the test. He also gives an attendance grade, but you have to go to every class anyway since he doesn't post notes online. TAKE HIM!
Very nice guy. Go to class everyday and you will get points at the end of the semester(Accepts legit excuses like Dr. notes). 2 quizzes before each test. Use them as study tools for test. Study and attend class and you will do just fine.
Prof. Traylor is such a cool dude. He broke the constitution down easily for us to learn. You learn the entire constitution, the way it was first written, in one semester. The only negative thing I would say would be that sometimes he either puts tricky questions on his tests, or puts something on their that he forgot to mention in lecture.
Awesome professor! Loves teaching. Cares about his students. A really great guy all around! Dr. Traylor breaks the material down for his students & strives to ensure that you do well. Go to class, listen/take notes, study the night before & you'll do fine!
Sweetest professors ever. Cares about you and wants you to do well. Attendance is mandatory, you will get -20 for missing a class unless valid excuse. 8 quizzes, 2 before each test. Quizzes are good study guides for test. True/false & matching. Asks the same questions multiple times on test. Easy class. Would recommend. Taking him again this summer
Easy class. Take notes & got to class, you will get an A if you study. 8 quizzes, 4 tests. You will learn the original intent of the constitution (not how it is understood now) and you will understand it. Definitely recommend and I'd take him again.
Dr. Traylor is my favorite teacher so far at SELU. He has a passion for what he teaches and it shows. 8 quizzes and 4 test. This class is an easy A if you study what he teaches and keep up. 100% take him
Never thought I would enjoy learning the constitution. One of the best professors I have had at Southeastern. Loves what he does and cares about his students. Go to class, I promise he keeps it interesting.
He was the best and sweetest professor ever!!! He is so sweet, and you can tell he loves history. Never in a million years would I think I would like political science. I just remembered everything he said because he makes it so easy and enjoyable. I want him to be my grandpa!!! DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!
He is an amazing teacher! He loves what he teaches and he really cares about the students! I definitely recommend everyone to take him.
I would definitely take Dr. Traylor again! 8 TF quizzes, 4 TFmultiple choice exams, 20 points for perfect attendance (can't miss at all). He explains the Constitution the way it was intended to be understood, and he explains the historical context as a story. Super easy! You never use the textbook!
I myself hate anything in the social studies department, and this class (professor) proved that wrong. His lectures can be pretty long, but he tells some amazing and inspirational stories that you wouldn't want to miss. There are quizzes that consist of 10 TF questions. Along with four exams that are mainly TF. NO TEXTBOOK USAGE! (Best Part)
He is a great teacher
Nice guy but, do not take him unless you are a history junkie or made an A in multiple related courses. You will be lost. Do not miss one day or you lose a chunk of points. Bring a laptop or recorder, you will be fatigued from writing a lot. He does not grant second chances nor exam reviews. Tough on grading, No mercy, not an easy A! Beware.
Dr. Traylor asks you to call him, "Dr. Paw-Paw." I had him for Political Science 101, and I loved it. You have to study, but make sure you take good notes. He takes points for attendance, but it can lowerraise you a letter grade. He is a precious old man, and will help in any way.
Dr. Traylor was the best professor I've had at Southeastern! I HIGHLY recommend him. He's one of the reasons I changed my major to Political Science! He was that good. Attendance is a MUST because he keeps up with it and gives you a grade for it. TAKE HIM TAKE HIM TAKE HIM.
Dr. Traylor is the sweetest old man you'll ever meet. He lectures the whole class period, but throws in personal stories/comments to keep you interested. His sense of humor is hilarious and he loves to laugh! You can tell he cares about his students. Attendance matters, you receive a grade for it! Be ready to write A LOT of notes and study!
A great teacher. He's passionate about his teachings and knows what he's talking about. His lectures aren't boring. Definitely would recommend to any kind of student.
I absolutely love Dr. Traylor. Really the sweetest instructor. He makes the class so much more interesting than what it really is. There were four exams and the final was not cumulative. It is smart to have perfect attendance because it is a free 20 point grade in the end. His class is by word of mouth, no textbook. Best class I have ever taken!
Amazing professor! Took him over the summer for A.A. History. 2 tests, all essay. Very easy! 2 require book readings, I didn't read either one and I still made an A. Just show up to class (don't be late!) and pay attention, take good notes and you will be fine. easy A, interesting topic. One of my fave professors. Take him
Great
Dr. Traylor knows his stuff and teaches it fantastically. The tests are long, but he gives two small quizzes before each test as a grade booster, which is AWESOME because most professors don't offer that opportunity. Even if you don't like history, you'll enjoy the class. There will be lots of material so study a little everyday to succeed!
Dr. Traylor is an amazing professor, but he will word the quizzes/exams in a manner intended to trick you--so pay close attention to details when he's lecturing. Also, make sure you study for the quizzes because those will kill you in the long run if you don't do well. Mandatory attendance, he seriously has an all-or-nothing 20 point grade for it.
I've taken Dr. Traylor for PoliSci 201 and 202. His class is one of my favorites I've taken at SLU. He knows his stuff when it comes to political science and is just an overall kind person. You do have to study for his tests and quizzes. Quizzes are TF and can be tricky at times. And tests are TF/MC. I recommend taking his class!
Dr. Traylor is an awesome professor! There are 8 quizzes and 4 exams, but it is broken down into sections so it's really not bad. His quizzes and tests are only about his lectures and one reading per section that will be on the syllabus. I would definitely recommend him to other students.
Dr. Traylor is an excellent professor! The classes are strictly lecture and there are no power points or study guides. That being said, he makes the lectures interesting and lets you record them. The tests and quizzes are mostly true false which can be tricky. If you go to class and pay attention, you'll be fine (he takes off points if you don't).
A very lovable hilarious guy. He keeps history interesting through his many side notes and stories. Tests are generally 100 questions. 95 questions are from his lectures and 5 questions will be from a reading assignment. Record his lectures and you'll have everything you need to study.
Mr. Traylor although a good professor HARD CLASS. True/False test which is the most terrifying thing to do. If you miss class not only will he take away points you'll be completely lost. The best thing is your quiz can work as a study guide but other then that you better take good notes!
Traylor is great as a person, but I just didn't like him as a professor. He has no organization to his lectures, he jumps around and backtracks a lot and its irritating, if you're writing notes or outlining, to have to draw lines everywhere because theres no clear timeline. His humor is a little off kilter and weird, but at least he's friendly?
Good professor. Test weren't that difficult but it surely wasn't easy. They were all T/F .
Dr. Traylor gives great lectures, and as long as you pay attention and take notes, the tests are a breeze.
All his test were true false which is hard for me, but as long as you take notes youll do well, hes very cool and nice.
Dr. Traylor is a must-take here at Southeastern! His lectures are nothing short of inspiring, and you always leave his class with new knowledge that you will remember! Although he does make you read a lot, the selections are very interesting! TAKE DR. TRAYLOR AT ALL COST
Absolutely LOVE Dr. Traylor. I have Taken a course with him for 3 semesters now. A very kind man and truly knows his history. His class is nothing but lectures, quizzes and Exams. BUT he is the easiest to listen to and knows how to keep your attention and keep history exciting. Wish I could Take more courses with him. Absolutely An 11/10
First test was easy bc I wrote EVERYTHING he said word by word. It will probably be in your best interest to record his lectures and take notes at the same time, then go back to make sure you didn't miss anything he said bc his test are exactly what he says in lectures.
One of my favorite professors so far! He lectures basically the whole class, but he tends to make them interesting enough to listen. 8 quizzes which are all true/false and usually 10 or 20 questions, 4 tests which are mostly true/false with some multiple choice. If you listen to his lectures and write down everything he says, you'll be just fine.
Ive taken Dr. Traylor three times. The BEST teacher Ive had in my entire academic career! A true gem. I cant wait to take him again!
Dr. Traylor lectures the whole time your in class. He comes off strong with his personality at first but he is really a great professor. You have 4 test and 8 quizzes. Although you will have test with some multiple choice they are mostly T/F. There is a lot of material to study and his test are somewhat hard.
The one thing that was very hard for this course was his exams and quizzes that included many true false questions. Other than that, I absolutely loved Dr. Traylor! His lectures were always so interesting and easy to follow!
Dr. Traylor is funny and a great teacher. We got 8 quizzes and four test which really have room to boost your grade. He loves true or false questions so take caution.
Dr. Traylor lectured every class, so if you do not take notes, you will not pass. He is funny and tries to help students. We had 8 quizzes and 4 tests; the quizzes can really boost your grade. There are a lot of true/false questions on the tests so beware. We also had an easy book review; we only had to answer the questions he gave us.
He is really nice and is enthusiastic about the class. However, I do not do well with quizzes that are only true and false and the tests were mainly true or false. You need to show up for the material because there are no notes on moodle. Personally, I would not take again but the class was not terrible. I simply did not like the test type.
Professor Traylor is really a really nice person. However, his quizzes are 10-20 true or false/multiple choice quizzes. HE WILL TRY TO TRICK YOU. and the exams are 70-100 questions of the same format. He changes one tiny detail of a question and it throws you off. I finished the class with a B. Just be prepared to listen to boring lectures.
Dr. Traylor is a great professor. He doesn't have any powerpoints for the lectures so you must attend class, however, he makes his class very interesting and gives plenty of examples. His test are true/false so make sure to study hard.
Great professor he really cares about his students! He's all lecture though. do not let this scare you because it did me. Just listen and realize he is telling a story and you will be intrigued also he is an adorable old man. he told us to put textbook in our sock drawer. Mostly true or false questions and has long test but quizzes help.
BEWARE OF TRUE OR FALSE. I really enjoyed Dr. Traylor as a professor, and really found his class enlightening. However, every single question on quizzes and exam is a tricky true or false questions. I saw reviews saying this and thought it would not be bad, but it is so difficult. He curved final grades by 5 percentage points to make up for it.
Dr. Traylor will keep you engaged throughout his entire lectures! He's passionate with what he teaches and he's funny too. Make sure to take good notes (especially for the online class), he can ask tricky true or false questions! If you love history I would suggest taking Dr. Traylor!
He never took attendance except on the first day. He posts all material on Moodle, but I'd recommend going to his class even though it isn't mandatory. All questions are m/c or true/false. Tests are a little difficult, but he gives very good lectures. No need for a textbook, but be prepared to take lots of notes.
He just talks the entire time. If youre talking in class, hell call you out. The quizzes have topics not covered. He covers unimportant minute topics in detail.
He does not use the book, literally rambles the entire class period, if you are not in class you will not pass. Do yourself a favor and get a better teacher because this man is pure hell
Class consists of 4 tests . We don’t use the textbook. He doesn’t give study guides or PowerPoints . You literally have to write down everything he says . Every exam is 100 T/F. It’s so difficult. I go to class all the time and I’m still not passing . It’s a interesting class , but he needs to change his teaching strategies
All he does is talk the entire time. He does not use the textbook, doesn't have any power points or anything to look at. You have to sit there and write everything he says. I'm particularly not a great learner just by listening, I need something to look at maybe even an outline, but he didn't have anything which caused me to struggle a lot.
He talks about history but unimportant stuff in detail. Nothing on his moodle. I go to class record lectures take notes and am still failing. Don’t take him I’m letting you know now. His tests are 100 questions of just true false and he writes his test to where it just doesn’t make sense.
I took a term HIST202 online and it was super easy if you watch the lectures. There is about 6, 1 hour lectures for each exam. There is 3 exams that you can take whenever you want. The 4th one is taken during finals.
Dr. Traylor is a FANTASTIC lecturer. He provides engaging content throughout the semester and often would cut us loose early once he had given us what he had wanted. Grades consisted of 4 quizzes, 2 tests, and 3 book reports. His grading requirements are easy and clearly stated, and before the exams, he outlines what he wants to see on the test.
Dr. Traylor is a great lecturer! He has engaging content and often let us go early when he had said what he wanted. The class comprised of 4 quizzes, 3 book reports, and 2 tests. He clearly stated his grading criteria and before the exams, he would cover what he wanted to see for each essay question.
