I've taken two online math classes with Professor Yates and been really happy with both. Classes are pretty easy if you keep up and there are plenty of notes and videos provided to help explain the material. There are 2 exams and a Final but he lets you bring a page of notes to each so that really helps. Definitely recommend and would take again.

Provides great feedback, responds in a timely manner. 3 proctored exams, front&back notes allowed. Final exam is cumulative. 20 questions per exam, 5 points each. Study hard and you'll do fine. PS: Elementary math is NO joke.

Fair grader. All his quizzes and exams were based on the material taught. Do the work and you will get an A! Useful stuff. I am glad I took this class. I thought that the summer online class would too hard. Professor is always in communication with the class and very helpful!

The structure of the class was very easy to follow. Weekly quizzes that lead up to 3 exams. If you do the homework and ask questions, you will be well prepared for the quizzes and exams. Professor always responded very quickly to questions, and was positive and helpful. Would take again.

One weekly quiz(open book) and three exams(1 pg notes and calculator). Each exam covers two chapters then you move on to the next two, which gives you a "fresh" start after every exam. Make sure you watch all the videos, read the text book, work on all the exercises and worksheets he gives out. He is prompt if you have any questions.

All the lectures online made everything really simple and easy to understand. There is no homework. Only quizzes and exams are graded. The lowest 2 quizzes are dropped. He provides many quizzes online or in the book to practice. If you do the work and practice it is an easy class. Definitely worth taking if you need the class.

Easy Material. Weekly Quizzes 10 quest. 3 Exams taken taken on campus 20 quest. each & make up most of your grade. Only 1 attempt at each quiz & exam. Allowed 1 page of notes front and back (write small) plus calculator for exams. Exercises in book are key & his instructional videos help a lot. New material after each exam. No final or Mid-term

The class was really well organized, and contained lots of helpful materials. Quizzes were available for a long period of time, so it was easy to fit them into my schedule. Professor Yates always responded quickly to my questions, and was extremely positive and helpful. Would definitely take again.

Professor Yates was encouraging and helpful, and gave prompt responses whenever I had questions. The book was easy to read, the video lessons were great, and the practice exercises were aligned with the quizzes and exams. The workload was fair, and this is one of the best classes I've had at CSN.

This class was really well structured, with plenty of time to complete assignments. Instructor keeps up with students via email constantly, which was helpful, and always responded quickly when I had questions. Would definitely recommend.

The video lessons were helpful and easy to understand. The professor was understanding and helpful, and questions were always answered really quickly.

Clear grading criteria. Do the practice problems and check against your answers in the back of the book and you know you're doing fine. Literally would spend 2 to 3 hours on Sunday to do lecture and quiz and study then not worry about it till the next week. Anytime I had a question it was a quick response thru email.

As an online class somethings can be a bit confusing, and as a student that has never been strong in math I was a bit unsure at first. The instructor was well prepared, clear guidance and teaching as well as how to prepare for quizzes and exams. Understanding and approachable made this a class that left me comfortable and feeling capable in math.

I was hesitant to take an online math class, but Professor Yates explained things extremely well with videos and notes, he was open to questions, and was really helpful. Also important, he was always encouraging, letting me know I could do well if I worked at it and asked my questions.

The notes and videos from the instructor made it all easy to comprehend. The videos explained and showed each step of the processes for the trickier concepts that were hard for me. I felt like I was actually being taught instead of teaching myself. Professor Yates was encouraging and able to explain things in a way that we could understand them.

Professor Yates always helped me when I had questions. He was patient and made a very positive learning environment. I went into the class scared of math, and come out feeling confident and capable with math. His teaching methods and professionalism and being approachable made the class enjoyable.

Professor Yates is excellent. The exercises in the book and video lessons helped a lot, and so did the Powerpoint slides. The class is straightforward and structured perfect. He is easy to understand, and willing to help with anything you dont understand. Anyone who has any kind of issue learning math with have zero issues with this class.

Professor Yates is really organized which makes things better for his students. He answers questions quickly and encourages you. His notes and videos in Canvas help you to understand. The schedule is nice and not too intense, and it is easy to understand what to complete each week. He gives personality to the content that makes the class enjoyable.

Dr. Yates was willing to help and returned emails in a timely manner. The textbook is great for those not pursing a degree in mathematics. Lessons were easily understandable. Everything was easy to follow, I loved the structure, and the tests aligned with what was taught. A fantastic class for students who are strong in math and those who are not.

Mr. Yates is a caring instructor whose curriculum is designed to help each student excel with the information. He was helpful and the class is designed well. Clear and concise directions and lots of communication with great tips for staying on track. Would take him again if I could.

Professor Yates sets you up for success. He allows two attempts at quizzes which helped us learn instead of getting discouraged after the first attempt. The PowerPoints are amazing and descriptive and the videos were great. He always responded quickly whenever I had questions. This is the best math class I have ever taken.

The textbook comes with online power points and quizzes each week. Yates has the best teaching method when it comes to math! I have never understood trig before this class. There are 3 exams, taken at testing center, but you are allowed to use a whole sheet of paper with notes for the exam.

Professor Yates is always available, and the structure and assignments are very clear. He reaches out with regular emails that were helpful and encouraging. The videos were a tremendous positive that helped me learn the content. Having two attempts at quizzes allows students to learn from their mistakes, and really learn the material.

Very structured and easy class to follow. Yates gives lots of good feedback and easily reached if help is needed. Plenty of notes, power points and videos to help you understand the material. You will need the textbook and will need to read it to pass. I highly recommend Yates as I'm not proficient with math and he made it easy to get an A

Professor Yates is absolutely AMAZING! I loved his class. I took his stretch class so I also had MATH95. The textbook was easy to understand with the help of his videos. The study games were a huge help for the exams, especially for the parts of math I struggle with. Professor Yates also responded quickly very quickly to any questions I had.

Have taken him twice. I am not good at math and I passed both classes. He always willing to help as much as you need and will answer all emails ASAP. He never made me feel stupid and made the content easy to understand. One test a week and 3 exams so I didnt feel overwhelmed.

Dr. Yates is one of the best Math Lecturers I have had since my high school days. He makes his class very clear and structured and put his students first. He is really accessible outside of class and responds fast. As long as you practice the material, read the textbook, and pay attention to his video lecture it should be smooth sailing.

This version of the course was one that had two scheduled meetings every week. Professor Yates made the material very easy to understand. He interacts so well with the students and make sure everyone knows what's going on. The way he relays material is near perfect. He was the best teacher I had this semester hands down.

This is the best online course I have taken in my 2+ years of taking courses at CSN. Professor Yates was very structured and detailed in every aspect. He also had an incredible approach to each module because he would touch on what may be seen as intimidating to students and show students why it does not have to be intimidating. Videos were great.

The textbook is easy to understand which helped me. Communication from the teacher each week was very clear and made it easy to understand what was expected. Also, the videos and worksheets for every topic helped a lot.

The class was fun and easy to follow, and I didnt feel rushed on quizzes. Assignments are spaced out perfectly and there isnt an overwhelming amount. It is clear that Professor Yates has put a lot of time and effort into creating it.

Professor Yates is clear with expectations, quick to respond, and reaches out with positive reinforcement. Overall I think he has done a beautiful job through distance learning and would 100% recommend him as an instructor.

There was enough time to learn each module and Mr. Yates was always available when I had questions. One of the better written textbooks Ive used and the videos were very understandable and clear. Id be happy to have him as an instructor again.

Mr Yates is a good teacher that is compassionate for helping his students succeed. The exam reviews were great, and he always replied to emails quickly. He was patient and kind, and his teaching of math has been the best experience of learning it in my life.

The book assignments, notes, and video lessons were all extremely helpful. Very well organized. Professor Yates cared about his students and he showed it. He always responded really fast. Overall he is a great professor.

This class is not in my major and does not even fall under my financial aid funds, but it is amazing. The professor did a great job. I appreciated his teaching and his kindness. I learned a lot and the lessons were very clear and not boring.

I absolutely love Ronald Yates math 120 class. He gives you everything you need materialize to succeed. If you have any questions he is readily available via email. I was never very good at math (maybe I just didnt care in high school) but I managed to maintain a 100% average. If you put in the work, you will get the results you want. 10/10

I absolutely love this MATH 120 Class online, Professor Yates gives you everything you need to succeed in class. Ive been maintaining an A average in this class with a lot of effort. Go to every single lecture, do every assignment, and ask questions. (Even though lecture attendance and homework is not required) You get out what you put in!!

Very nice. Will answer any question you have. He has a kind spirit and does not get upset with questions. Responds quickly to emails. Remote learning course and lectures helped a ton.

Only critique I have is that I did have to pay around $70 to get the textbook and enter the course but he's a v good teacher. Watch/attend the lectures and probably do the homework and you'll be good! Theres 3 tests, each based on 2 sections. A week in the class is two lectures, two homework exercises (not graded but help on tests) and a quiz!

Professor Yates is amazing! He gives u everything u need to succeed & always is willing to help u extra if u need. He was laid back as far as attendance goes but the weeks I went to class &took notes are the weeks that were super easy when it came to the quiz. The only times my grade suffered was when I skipped. I wish he could be my prof forever!

Pretty easy. Simple textbook. A chapter a week plus a quiz at the end of each. Finish with a final exam and that's it. Good professor, excellent class.

I ABSOLUTELY loved Dr. Yates. Definitely take him! I have always had troubles in Math classes and thought I would do horrible in his online lectures. Not only did I pass with a high grade, he actually made me understand and process math a different way!

The class is easy with two homework assignments and one quiz per week. If you do not do well on a quiz he checks in to make sure your okay and understand the concept. The final exam is worth 1/4 of your grade and the other 3/4 are the quizzes.

Well what can I say he is a great teacher he is a better math teacher then when I had math class in my HS years

Professor Yates is wonderful and makes math easy to understand. He is always ready to help students and answer whatever questions one may have no matter what they may be. Being able to take quizzes twice was really helpful. I believe this is an excellent strategy to help us grow in knowledge. Great professor and would take him again.

Mr Yates is an incredible professor. He is supportive, positive, helpful, and extremely well written in his explanations. It blew my mind how easily I picked up the material week after week. Mr Yates is a knowledgeable professor and makes learning math easy to understand. His explanations in the videos were very helpful in understanding how to solve problems. Took him for both MATH 122 and 123. He makes the lessons so easy to understand. The homework helps with the quizzes so do them. He provide lectures and notes, if those don't help you can email him and he will help you step by step. All his assignments connects so do them well and make sure to understand them. TAKE HIM!

Professor Yates is an amazing professor. The hw and quizzes are 7th-12th grade math. Straight forward just do the hw and quizzes weekly. If you need help email him, he goes step by step. No need to buy a textbook he provides one online along with presentations and Khan Academy. Hw is unlimited attempts and 2 attempts for quizzes.

Mr. Yates is an amazing teacher and takes his time explaining everything when you have a question. I do recommend his class. For me, I did not use the textbook cause it made no sense to me. Homework is optional, it is more used for practice. I listened to the class lecture and participated and I was all set.

Dr Yates does a great job of teaching. He always encourages us and makes us more confident, and teaches is a clear way that makes sense. He tried his best to help us in every way possible. The textbook was well organized and helpful. This course was awesome and fun.

Recordings of the class meetings were really helpful, because I could rewatch sections, and the videos on specific topics were great. Professor Yates lectures were really easy to understand, and he was very involved with the class and his students. This class restored my confidence in math and was a wonderful experience.

I no longer say I suck at Math after his class. Math just requires a bit more patience, and effort for me than English and grammar. Took MATH120 for Summer and it was a breeze. There are 4 sections; Geometry, Consumer Math, Statistics, and Probability. Each section has 1 graded homework which is very easy, 1 exam (10 questions), and 5 quizzes (5 questions each). Show up to lecture and ask questions and you will pass with him. Enjoyable time with Mr. Yates definitely take him!

Ong he was the easiest professor I've had, his class work is set up nicely and very easy to learn especially if you miss a class. If you're straight outta high school you want to take his class. He's very nice and answers all questions.

I had him for 122 & 123 and got an A in both. He was a great professor! I had web-remote, and class meetings aren't required and are recorded if work or miss a meeting/lecture. I recommend going to classes, though, he makes everything clear, allows for good communication, and provides great examples. 3 exams and a quiz are due each week on Sunday.

I have never felt that I understood the concepts he presented as well as I did in this class, in any math class through my entire education. He dispelled the notion that I had that I was bad at math, and he helped me to actually enjoy math.
