He was a great teacher, and he kept the class from being monotonous. Economics can be a difficult subject, but as long as you read the assigned materials and goto class, the class isn't too hard.

Great teacher. Learned alot. Must take notes for test, some few things from book. Rest is from few short stories you have to read in suplements. Have to know graphs & everything else covered in notes for tests. Very smart professor that is fair. Takes attendance.

Intro to bus with 4 tests. Final is really easy. Read and understand the text book (which is easy) and get an A in the class. Really easy.

Best Professor EVER.Go to class take the quizes. Read text book throughout. Remember text book and tricky quesions from it. Its all from the text book and his lecture. Take care of that and you should get easy 90's on ur test. He has extra credit too. Changed my view about Business and Econ. From all my Profs. he is the BEST PROF. EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

very easy class...everything from the test is from the class notes...there are 3 tests and easy, easy quizzes...easy A...and very interesting...lots of graphs so know those...tests are half short answer and half multiple choice/true false...

I took Social Economics Fall 2008. Excellent class and interesting topics in text. He is a great lecturer and makes the class fun. You must attend to keep up with the graphing but it is not terribly difficult. I highly recommend the class. Prof. is kind, funny, and passionate.

Only 1 textbook. $17. Amazing Teacher, really involves the class. He is very helpful if you have any questions about the exams. Charmingly sarcastic. LOVE HIM. I highly recommend this sexy professor. Don't skip class, you wont even want to.

The class is straight forward. He gives you all the information you need for the tests. Memorize how to draw the graphs, study the lecture notes, and read the chapters in the book. Easy A if you put forth effort to study everything exactly or a B if you slack off a bit. Fun teacher overall. P.S. The person below me is being a big baby. Seriously.

Great teacher. He really connects with his students. His tests are easy. Just take really good notes and attend class. He gives essay quizzes but it's easy if you read the short articles. I wish more professors were like him.

He was all over the place, quizzes were easy, the exams were hard, he did not give reviews on the first two exams but sort of gave a review on the final exam. Test consisted of SEVERAL short answer questions... I was very interested in the beginning but by the end of the semester, I lost interest; made an easy subject hard

Wasn't really excited about this class, but because of Roger Wehr's class, it made this class a little better. Textbook was very small! 2 page chapters! Pop-quizzes, and they do matter! So attendance would be smart, and he also helps people who regularly attend class. Got a high B+

Really good professor. Material isn't difficult to understand. I do suggest to take good notes and study them thoroughly esp. the graphs. It will do a world of help on the short answer section of the exams. I recommend him to all of my colleagues and would definitely take him again.

Study the notes and you will do fine in the exams, be sure to write EVERYTHING he writes on the board and to read the chapters (the book is really small and won't take you but 10-15 min/chapter) so just copy all the notes, esp graphs and make an A!

He's the reason I have to make a ratemyprofessor account. He's smart, so if your're not dont take him. No review, kinda have 1 for the final which including11 questions for the short answer part, not all of them were in there. I always got the short answer part but find the multiple choice and T/F part tricky

Ace the first 2 tests, got all the quizzes and still made a B, that means I must have done really bad on the final which's worth twice as much as the first 2 tests and is semi-cumulative, meaning everything after the 1st half of the semester and exams are short answers/multiple choice/true false. Im still depressed about that B, 1st B ever=.=

he is a great prof if you are smart, well you get the point he thinks we should know things that he knows. no reviews, if you ask any question before test he doesnt give the answers, he says it once and if u miss it you miss it. 1 and 2 test are 100 point and final is 200 i did well on first 2 test but ended up with a C. i dont recommend him.

Excellent class & instructor! Tiny book, WSJ & EVERYTHING he writes on the board. Read it, understand it (if you have to relearn it, its on you) and know it for the exams. He is VERY helpful if you ask him for his time! This class helps you understand how many of the Econ topics you studied in lower classes actually works in the real world. Be prep

very straight-forward/easy class, as long as you do the reading. the book is small, chapters are short, but he does make you read WSJ articles, which are most of the time interesting. just go to class, take notes and read... easy A. HE TAKES ATTENDANCE EVERY DAY! pop quizzes, about once a week (theyre easy if you go to class).

Biology major, I took Econ of Crime as an elective, Proffesor Liggett made that class beyond interesting. Show up to class, write down everything on the board, read the book, and use your brain. Not math intensive, but you need some common sense people; dont take if youre going to be lazy or skip class. buy the book, its interesting!

Great Professor, works around your progress and sometimes pretty flexible with your grading. He see the trend of progress. I ended up with A in the class even though I was thinking of B. Take good notes. Times goes quick in his class which means he makes his lecture interesting.

Prof. Liggett is a really cool and chill guy. He explains things well but you definitely need the book and do the homework online. As long as you do OK on the tests and do all the online work you'll be good!

He is ok. His tests are multiple choice and short answer and there are only 3. If you fail the first one but then get two B's you will get a B. He kind of curves. He has reading assignments and there are pop quizes on those so make sure you read all of those. Other than that this class is pretty interesting.

The difference between an "A" and a "B" in this class is actually reading the book. Even though he will give you everything you need to take his test in his lectures, if you want to do very well, read the book. It's not an easy A but he is a great professor, makes ECON much more interesting.

He's a great teacher and very smart. Tests come almost exclusively from notes with a few from the articles and the book. It's an economics class so you have to draw a couple graphs on tests and do a few short answer questions but he provides everything. He uses videos sometimes to change up the pace of the class. Definitely recommend taking him.

Liggett is a down to earth Econ teacher that doesn't talk over you, as is the case with many profs in that dept. He clearly explains what will be on the test and makes the material as accessible as possible. Attendance is mandatory and readings are emphasized. Read the book and pay attention and you'll do well. Tests are mixed short answer/mc.

He is like that cool teacher in high school you had that also Coached sports, laid back. Do NOT talk while he is talking, he is not a fan of that at all. Read your book. This class was full of Social Work majors and he made it as interesting as possible, knowing we were not ECON majors.

I thought this class would be easy but end the end I was just ready to get it over with. His lectures were all over the place and seemed to be more of his opinion than facts. He does not give a review so that makes te test even more confusing.

This is a difficult class. It requires a lot of studying, he wrote the book so test questions get very specific. But he is a very cool guy and curved anyone who made a 67 to a C. He really works with you and answers any questions, but I would avoid this class if you want an easy grade.

Professor Liggett is an excellent econ prof. Show up for class and take good notes. If he puts something on the board, make a note of it! He gives pop quizzes over readings, but that are pretty easy if you do the assigned reading. I would recommend him. He is not an easy A, but if you do the work, you will be fine.

Prof is very easy to follow; uses everyday "college" examples when explain graphs. As long as you takes notes from the power point and look the econlab, the test/class is pretty easy to pass and keep up with.

Awesome teacher. i actually looked forward to going to his classes. made us laugh from time to time. tests were pretty easy aswell (only if u have revised!!). i used to record his lectures because he gives good explanations. if you listen to them before test, you'll find the test easy bcuz his tests are all from what he teaches in class. This guy is really conservative with his economic and social views and treats everything that spews out of his mouth as fact. Take this guy only if you want to sit and hold your tongue for a whole semester while he tries to tell you that poor people just need to 'work harder'.

Go to class, record or take excellent notes but must read book material. He is a great professor & will help as much as possible. Only 3 tests, no homework so be mindful of amt of material covered on test, he does give great reviews. I would recommend & take him again without hesitation.

Excellent professor, probably best one at UTA. Took Econ 2337 & 3303. Makes the class very interesting and fun. No hw besides reading, mostly lectures off PowerPoint slides. Goes over everything you'll need to know for exams. I would highly recommend Prof Liggett!

Come to class and be ready to listen. The exams are not hard if you come to class regularly. He is extremely helpful with helping your grade improve if you are willing to put the effort in. Overall, I enjoyed this professor and would say this is one of the best professors at UTA.

Amazing Lecture! I didn't mind going to his class, I actually felt bad if I didn't attend. He was very clear about what was on the test. Plus we had homework, but you had more than one chance to get the answer right and if you studied off the Homework AND the lecture then you will surely get a good grade in the class.

He is very helpful, and he will bump a grade up if you go to class. He does take attendance every day, so make sure and be in class. You'll want to be in class anyway because his lectures are awesome. He really relates economics to students, and he uses a lot of visuals to help. I would definitely take this class again.

Professor Ligget was very helpful! Tests were very easy, as long at you studied his power points. I dropped this class the semester before because I was taking it with Roger Wehr and his tests were nothing like the notes. I highly recommend taking Professor Ligget!

Professor Ligget lectures were so confusing that you would wonder to yourself when he was done talking, "what was the point"? Also his tests are HARD! I was never good at economics so this class was difficult for me. Parts of the tests are designed for you to get wrong. Make sure you read the chapters in DETAIL or kiss your A goodbye.

Great teacher, lectures are interesting. There is homework for each chapter due on the day of the test. The book is helpful, but if you are confident in your note-taking skills you don't need it (you DO need the online access), he does not post notes online. Tests are moderately challenging, just study beforehand and you'll do fine - bring calc.

Awesome teacher! I definitely recommend taking him, especially if Economics doesn't really interest you. He does take random attendance so I suggest going to class and has random extra credit points. Only had 4 tests and he does a pretty good review just does give a guide. Get both books and read the chapters he tells you to and you should be good.

Write everything he says down because usually one or two things that he says aren't in the book and will be on the test. I recommend recording the lecture because sometimes he can go pretty fast on the Powerpoints. He is a great teacher who knows what he is talking about.

Liggett is a great professor all in all. I found Economics to be difficult but it comes easy for a lot of people. Liggett loves to interact with his students. He gives you plenty of chances to succeed. He is the only reason why I made a B. He really tries to help you if you help yourself. He plays music right before class which is cool!

Professor Liggett is a very nice professor, but he was just unorganized. I felt like he would skip from one subject to another. I hate economics and I truly did not learn much in this class. His exams are short questions, MC, and T/F. The exams were hard to me. He gives a brief verbal review, but thats it! Don't recommend if you don't know econ!

Econ is not easy. He is good at lectures. His quips, which are common, are reminiscent of Dad humor. He is extremely approachable. Ronnie definitely lets you know how bad young Americans have it by inheriting national debt and social security will rise by the time we are retired. A rose among thorns.

He knows his Econ, but does a poor job explaining things and is inadequate in helping the class prepare for the tests. His powerpoints are vague and unorganized and he sometimes teaches outside of the book.

He's kind of funny & there are only 4 tests and one powerpoint/report due so you really need to come to class to pass the 4 tests and the average is really your grade. I didn't buy either of the 2 books & missed only a couple of days and got a B just by taking notes in class. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THE BOOKS. He doesn't post his pp so go to class

Professor Liggett is very good. His Econ of crime class was my favorite class I took this semester. His class is by NO means a blow off, but he makes it really fun and if you are lucky he will let you use a notecard on the test. There's a lot of graphs you have to learn, so be ready for that, but the class is awesome! The book is interesting too!

This teacher is solid. He's pretty interesting, has a sense of humor, and the material actually feels like it matters. Good experience overall and lets you use notecards which is always a huge help. You have to go to class he doesn't post everything online.

Awesome professor! Lectures are well explained and good preps for the tests. 4 tests (50 questions each) are not too heavy nor tricky but read and study hard. If you have questions, be sure to ask since he is willing to clarify them. Some extra credits are given unannounced so attendance is important. Made an A at the end with little sweat.

My favorite professor so far. He teaches you everything you need to know for the tests during class time. I only cracked my book for a few hours before each exam and I did well. His lectures are interesting but you can tell his number one priority is helping everyone pass his class. Highly recommend.

Professor Liggett is great! He's very nice and will take the time to sit down with you and talk about grades. His tests are mostly lecture based but he goes with slides and usually will post them online. Reading the book does clarify a lot though. His tests have random questions from lecture like about songs or movie clips so you should go.

Mr. Liggett is a nice guy. He is very understanding of students needs and tries to work with them as much as possible. However, his class is very difficult. This class has been the easiest class I have taken at UTA, he is the best teacher for this class. He helped me understand economics and i'm not even a business major. Must attend class. If you take good notes you will do good on the final. His homework usually goes with the test so study online homework and notes and you should make an A.

He is exceptional. He really wants us to learn. He will stay back after class for even an hour to help out individuals with their problems. Just come to class and make an effort to learn. If you are there just for credit, its not an easy A class.

Professor Liggett's class was very enjoyable! His lectures are very entertaining and he really tries to add in current information and pop culture references. He also answers questions in class. I found the class easy because I took APmacro but other people felt confused and said book was helpful to them. He says the book is highly recommended.

Professor Liggett is awesome. This class is actually fun to learn about. You learn how drug smuggling, illegal immigration, gun crimes, etc. effect our economy. But note, if you are offended easily this class may not be for you. It uses statistics in a non-biased way. The proffesor is very down to Earth.

Great professor, if you communicate with him he's generally willing to work with students if they need anything. His Economics of Crime class was very interesting. Not too hard. I feel like I have a better understanding of the topics after his class which is not something I can say for every class so great job Professor Liggett.

One of the best profs I've had at UTA. Tests start out with 7-8 short answer, followed by 35 MC & T/F questions; occasional pop quizzes; 1 research project. Extra points on every test. He's really down-to-earth and genuinely interested in everyone's perspective (participation is def recommended). A class I actually looked forward to going to!

Gave almost 15 points of extra credit and will help you out some more if you rarely miss class. Tests are clear and covered in lecture. Only complaint is the abhorrent Pearson MyLab homework - I'd rather do twice the work but on paper.

I loved his class! His lectures were not mandatory, but I would advise going since there are questions on his exam that come from the lecture and not the book. I would definitely take Mr. Liggett again in the future if I get the chance. I truly enjoyed coming to his class since his lectures were pretty interesting.

Liggett is cool. There is the homework and test one has to do but it isn't too difficult. Also, he takes attendance and post the power points on BB, but you need to attend class to understand the material of what is on the exams. He gives extra credit out in class sometimes.

He expects a lot from students in his tests and the questions are hard. One has to understand the full concept of a topic to answer the questions on the test while the notes posted on blackboard are vague and does not help you. There are 50 MCQ which are very hard for a core class. His teaching ability is mediocre but his test level are very hard.

If you don't have a general understanding of econ, then you will definitely struggle in his class. I came in thinking this was a basic econ class, but he talks about the material as if you should already know it and speeds through it. All his tests are 50 MCQ, w/ calculations and memorized material from my lab book. He doesn't thoroughly teach well

Professor Liggett really tries to inspire an interest in economics. Every class is a long lecture and he walks you through the math side of the class step by step. It can be a little boring but he does his best to make it all interesting. If you skip or don't pay attention you're going to fail, but he really does his best to make it an easy class.

Prof. Liggett is a funny and cool professor all around. His knowledge of economics is really good, but was not great at teaching certain subjects in the course. I respect him a lot though. Do go to class, tests are moderately difficult.

If econ is not your thing, I don't think this is the professor for you. Liggett clearly understands econ, but does not convey the material well to students. His lectures are all over the place, and most of the time I am very confused. Tests are based on lecture/textbook, but the textbook is confusing too. Overall nice guy, but not good at teaching.

Easy class, 2 exams and the final, a group presentation over sports movies. Attendance isn't mandatory but show up during presentation and speaker days. Only used textbook for test reviews. Posts ppts online. Gives short 5 question quizzes over an article maybe once or twice a week. My 2nd time taking him as a professor.

Dr. Liggett is a great professor. If you have the chance, take him! He tells you just about everything you need to know for the exams. He's available outside of class often and responds to e-mails quickly. You can tell he's really knowledgeable in ECON. The PowerPoints are a bit chaotic and goofy sometimes, but it makes him different.

Professor Liggett is so far my favorite instructor in college. To put it straight, he gives you every opportunity to succeed. He explains concepts clearly, uses videos and engages the class. You need to use the textbook, read the chapters before coming to class, the material will make sense. Ask questions and take advantage of extra credit!

Liggett is a great professor. His lectures are clear and he emphasizes the topics you should know for the exams. Attendance is 'mandatory' but he throws in 5 pop quizzes throughout the semester to prevent people from skipping class. I've taken him twice and would recommend him for sure.

Great professor. He teaches you about different controversial subjects ranging anywhere from prostitution to drug trafficking. He even did an entire unit on breaking bad with costumes. He has pop quizzes, so be careful about missing class. He does offer plenty of extra credit. If youre easily offended, for your sake, find someone else.

Professor Liggett is very straightforward. The class is the usual with the powerpoints and you take notes. Sometimes he goes by the lecture fast, but he will post the same lecture to canvas so you can take notes you missed. Homeworks are due before the exam and the exam is mixed with simple and complex questions.

Pf. Liggett was not what I expected, you need to have previous knowledge of Economics to pass his class. He tries to make it simple by making his PowerPs funny, but Ill say a little too simple for me to understand. He doesnt explain compared to the book or hw, his tests are about 45-50q for 50 min. He offers very little Extra Credit (10 points)

Most annoying part of class was some rude, entitled, lacking classmates. Superior professor, has more character, class & charisma than dept chairs I've seen: A+

LOVED prof Ligget! He is great at teaching and related material to real world problems which makes it a lot easier to understand. The type of professor that if you do your end he will do his end of work. Some of his test questions are "what video did I show in class" so although attendance isn't mandatory it really helps because you can read the book and it doesn't mean you'll know everything on the test. He allowed for a lot of extra credit and is a very fair professor.

No prior knowledge of economics required. Professor Liggett is great at explaining topics and the homeworks help to better understand the material. Professor Liggett is funny and nice. Some of the topics can be confusing but he is always there to help. He also gives a little extra credit!

Took Professor Liggett for my 5-week summer course so my comments may differ from those in a regular semester. His exams cover a lot of material from the lecture slides, so even though attendance was not mandatory, you could miss information that would be on the exam. Lectures are quite interesting, coming from someone whose forte is not economics.

Had Prof. Liggett for ECON 3302 and it was great. In class lectures are engaging and he follows up with videos on Canvas to further explain the material we're learning. Class participation is encouraged and he gives many chances to improve your grade and answer questions. If you read the book and study, you'll have no trouble. Definitely recommend!

Loved this class! Lectures were always engaging and informative. Tests were short answer, multiple choice and true/false. Attendance was not mandatory but we had pop quizzes every now and then so I would recommend not missing class. Overall great professor, would recommend!

Professor Liggett is by far one of my favorite profs at UTA. You can tell that teaching is a passion of his and he's very knowledgeable of economics and business. This is the best econ professor you can find at UTA. Yes, your grade only depend on 4 exam+ HW(10%)... but he simply already let you know everything that will be on your exam. and sometimes, he legit throw out practice question that are 99% similar to test question.

Gave EC, curves tests, and allowed 3x5 notecards to help the entire class. Attendance isn't mandatory, but he checks it to see whether you put in the effort in his class. Lectures are helpful, and test 3 is the only one that is difficult to understand. Mentions what will be on the test during lectures. Homework on Pearson, 2 attempts per question.

Although I dislike the Econ subject, it was very enjoyable to have Professor Liggett. Although it being 9 AM made it kind of forgettable and hard to attend. Doing the HW helps a lot for exams and you do get a flashcard which makes the test more doable as long as you have the right material written down. He's pretty funny and caring for his students

He was alright, to be honest. I personally had a hard time in his class, but my grades were fine. You just have to take notes and attend. Attending class is your best bet. He does allow you to have a note card on exams; offers some extra credit; and questions on test really are based on lectures. Do what you would like with this info!

Although he sped through lectures, they were easy to understand. He takes daily attendance for extra points. There is one big group project that requires watching a sports movie. I never bought the textbook, just studied his slides and attended class and did fine. Save your money. The final exam is also not comprehensive so that is a plus.

I was never good with the graphs but overall it's a good learning environment. He takes attendance but it doesn't hurt if you don't show up, the more you show up to class the better chance you have at getting your grade bumped up since it shows you genuinely care.

I found it very difficult to take notes as he would go through the slides VERY quickly. He would skim through slides full of important information that'll be on the exam for only a few seconds before I can finish typing the first sentence. For auditory learners, he might be great but for people who like to take notes I would avoid this professor.

Be sure to take notes and pay attention to the lecture. He would sometimes point out things that would be on the test. There is a few pop quizzes for extra credit in class. Professor Liggett gives out extra credit which doesn't really help considering it's only one or two points. He's always busy during office hours and was not helpful at all. Exams are intense considering that there is 50+ questions and 50 minutes to complete. Lectures are extremely fast and does not record lectures. Takes a while to post slides.

Go to the lectures, it's all PowerPoint with notes about random things he puts on the test but he will say the words "Man that sounds like a test question" if it'll be on an exam. The exam info is very clear all you have to do is take notes on the lectures. Easy fluff class, don't forget about the homework.

This professor is very passionate about his work, which sometimes causes him to forget that we might not share the same level of enthusiasm. As a result, he occasionally skips important steps when teaching the material. It is helpful to start on your study plan early, especially since he doesn't post the homework early.

While his personality is great and you can tell he's passionate about Economics, my main complaint is that he tends to go off topic a little or spend time on a very easy topic, basically reading off the slides. If you're new to Econ go to study sessions, maybe take a longer class but don't expect too much breakdowns to understand.

Macro with Professor Liggett was great. He's passionate about economics and genuinely cares for his students. He has clear expectations and good lectures; however, he does go off on tangents often. This class is 90% MLB and NFL and the economics behind those sports, but the professor explains things in the easiest way to understand. He's an easy-going guy and is very easy to follow along in his lectures. This class is a great elective no matter what major you are, and it's all thanks to Dr. Liggett

Anyone giving him a bad rating saying his PPs are bad just did not attend class. His PPs are mediocre UNLESS you attend class. He will always point out questions in class that will definitely be on the exam. I barely had to study as long as I showed up and paid attention in class. He allowed notecards for every test except test 1.

The proff's nice but I'd say his presentation slides don't do a good job in representing what actually shows up on the exams, as long as you pay attention to both the PP slides (as questions come from there) and understand the concepts in the book you'll be good to go - he gives exams reviews where he lists how many quesions are from what chapter
