As long as you come to class and study, you will do well. Other people complain because they start to study the day before a test. Shocker, they get a bad grade and blame it on the prof.

Not sure why everyone's so negative about Mr Ramey. I have him for A&P I right now and He is hard. Not sure why every one thinks teachers should make it easy on their students. You need to study. He gives pop quizes and tests are hard. He has great outlines and lectures on the outlines and gives more info to add to outline. Great teacher.

I don't understand all the negative about Mr. Ramey. He grades on a curve, and he explains stuff you don't understand without getting irritated. He makes the class laugh, and if you listen in class,you will do well on the tests.He doesn't have patience for people who keep their cell phones on,or fall asleep, but that is a given.I would recommend.

You have to study and keep up with the class, but you will do well if you do that. Mr. Ramey explains things very well and is helpful if you do what you are suppose to.

Ramey's Bio150 is good for people needing to take bio w/ lab, but are not completely interested in a bio major. Gives copies of his slides out to follow along while he lectures. Book wasn't necessary. Allows 1 makeup day for missed tests @ end of semester. Tests are fair if you study notes. Nice guy, though not the smartest. Overall, good class.

Mr. Ramey was a great instructor. He gives homework to be done before lecture, which helped to understand it. I liked the way he explained everything. The test were a little diffucult, but ended up making me study even more.

Class is very easy. Attend class, take notes and study the outlines that are online. Study lab manual for lab quizzes. Very cool, laid back guy.

Professor Ramey is awesome, don't get me wrong his class is tough, and a bit challenging, but he provides you with everything you need to succeed. He gives outlines for each chapter, and all you have to do is understand and memorize & you'll pass. The class is very interesting. Mr.Ramey is very kind, and plus he's young so he's easy to relate to.

Great professor with a great personality. Fun in class as long as you did what you were suppose to do. Explains everything and has outlines so you can listen and try to understand lecture without having to write every single thing down without getting to think about it.

I liked the way he explained everything. You still have to study to do well, but most of us thought he helped get us ready for our other classes too, since we needed other bio.

My goal in life is to create a machine that shrinks Dr. Ramey into the size of a paperclip so I can carry him around in my pocket and listen to lectures on Biology all day long. After that, I will make him my personal assistant and ask him on a daily basis questions involving what type of socks should I wear for the day.

Ramey was pretty easy going and lectures were great. Timed seemed to fly by in class, and he tested us on what he went over in class. We had a group that would study together, and we all did well. You just have to make sure you keep up on the work. We all got to know each other and Ramey so well, most of us were a little sad to go by the end.

Awesome Professor, very laid back. Offers help when you need it. Had him for lab and it was very easy, highly recommend him for lab!! I don't think anyone in my lab didn't like him

Loved Ramey, he is so cute! had him in spring. Failed first test because I did not study, got A's and B on the others and got an A- in the class. For lab quizzes memorize the info in manual and info he tells u before the lab and you will get a good grade. For lecture memorize the whole outline and do not procrastinate. super fun class, funny guy.

I had him In the fall and he was always willing to help or answer questions if you asked. He explains everything. If you come to class and study the notes like you're in college, you will do fine.

I had Ramey for BIO 150 lab during the Fall 2015 semester. He's really funny and chill. If you have any questions, he'll answer them. He clearly explains the procedures for each lab. He has a quiz for every lab, but they're really easy if you study them. I'd take him again.

Problem with him, he makes his BIO131 lab harder than most classes because you have to know the smallest details and also are a minimum of 50 questions while other lab teachers have 25 question exams. Wouldn't recommend him for lab. Not sure about lecture.

He always took the time to answer our questions and made sure the work we did in lab was on the exam. He made sure to explain the lab before we did it, and what he emphasized was what was on the tests.

Exactly what you need in an Introductory Biology Class. He makes hard to grasps concepts easy by breaking them down and giving clear examples of each. Labs are fun and not just tedious. Everything in the lab helps your understanding of the processes. Funny, enthusiastic, and gives you all the tools you need to succeed.

The lecture and lab were a lot of work, but Mr. Ramey explained the concepts very well and was always willing to help me out and answer my questions.

The lab was a lot of work to study for every week. The lecture exams were exactly what Mr. Ramey went over in class. He is very patient, even with a group of people that didn't deserve it.

He's not bad considering I took him the spring. So there were quizzes everyday based on the labs. Read the labs and study them or you will fail and please don't procrastinate. The lectures weren't too bad either study the power-points, don't buy the book it's useless. There are also study guides online didn't know that till the third exam.

I really enjoyed Prof. Ramey. Biology can be a pretty dry and monotonous subject (at least for me), so his sense humor was definitely a bonus. I had to work to keep up, but that's what I paid for, so no complaints. Everything on the tests is covered in class. Take lots of notes and you'll do fine.

I would say if he teaches all bio courses at HFC, I will take them all with him with no complain. very knowledgeable, amazing at lecturing. highly recommended to every biology student. you won't regret taking it with him

I think this teacher is under rated. He deserves 3.8 or 4. He explains the lecture very well. His body language is amazing. He interact with the lecture. Sometimes, he wants students to engage with him , he comes to lecture in times and finally his knowledge is excellent however he like to act formally.

Took him for Bio 131. Loved his personality. He did a good job explaining the lectures and lab. Answered all of our questions. He moved around during class and didn't stay at the computer like a lot of my other professors. Those of us that came to class and studied together got good grades on the tests.

Great teaching style. I wish he taught other classes too. Took him in the spring semester, so everything moved really fast compared to the fall or winter, but I took his advice and asked about what I didn't understand in class. He took the time to explain it and answer my questions, which I didn't always see in my other classes.

Ramey made lab fun and straightforward. He explained the lab first, then let us work on it at our own pace. He walked around and helped us if we got stuck on something. He stayed after and explained the lab a few times to me when I asked him to. The exams were just like the lab book and homework.

I like that he recorded his lectures and put them on YouTube for us to watch at our convenience. My life is so crazy that this helped a lot instead of worrying about showing up at a certain time for a lecture online. The quizzes were just like the exams, which is nice. He always emailed me back the same day or the next, unlike my other profs.

He is a good professor. He knows his material and his labs were fair. The only thing you have to prepare yourself for is the lab exams because some of the material that's on the lab exams weren't on the lab activities. However, you won't find yourself in a big hole as long as you study and do your work.

Take him if you want to learn. He explained everything and answered questions. His tests covered what we did in class, and I just had to study that.

He understands what he is teaching and is great at explaining. must show up to class. study his power points and you will pass the exams. does not let you make up late homework but does let you make up one missed exam. overall, a great teacher. study your labs and you will pass the lab exams.

All the test questions come from the lectures. He has been teaching for a while an it shows. He still shows passion for this subject and this is important. Labs and lecture exams are straightforward. Study the material that is provided in the prezi presentations and lab material and you will do well.

As long as you show up to learn the material, it's decent. For homework, there was only 1 lab response after every lab, which ranged from 2-15 questions. As long as you filled out your lab manual, it is easy. Plus you get 3 attempts on each assignment. Tests were on average 65 questions, which was good because it meant you had more room for error.

Professor Ramey is a great professor, his lectures aren't boring. The details he discusses in his lectures are in depth. A relaxed, chill guy, he's always in a good mood. It should not be a problem for you to pass the class if you study your homework and the presentation slides he has posted up.

Had him as a lab prof for summer. The bad reviews are trippin! He is easygoing and explained things in a way you could understand. If you needed help he'd absolutely help you. The whole class got along with him and joked around. The work is straight forward as long as you're there for lab. You lose points on lab response sheet if you don't show up.

I loved how complete the notes he gave us were. All I had to do was come to class and listen to him explain them. I tried missing class and just studying the notes, but I had a harder time that way, so I went back to class. It looks like a lot of slides, but most of them are just highlighting different parts of the same picture.

Professor Ramey is one of the top Biology professors. He gives you everything you need to know on his Prezi (highlights key info) and has other assignments such as lecture/lab activities to help your grade out. He may have a slight sass in his tone occasionally, but it's all fun! Overall, a very straightforward teacher who wants you to learn/pass.

He's amazing but he'll remove points if you're late even if it was only 1 min, but in general he's very good and i highly recommend him for Lab.

Ramey is funny and sassy. His slides are so long and he takes forever teaching them. His lecture exams are easy, he puts all the practice questions on there but make sure to study the power points. He does NOT help that much in lab, you have to help yourself. No extra credit provided. Overall he is an okay teacher but not the best.

He is an amazing professor I recommend taking him. He provided quizzes and activities worth 30% of your grade, which can help a lot.

The class as a whole can be tedious with the material but Professor Ramey made it managable to learn. In my section we had a postdoctoral fellow that would hold weekly study sessions after class and he was great! Not only that but the professor holds office hours at least 3 times a week and will email if there are any changes. Great professor!!

BEST PROFESSOR EVER! He actually cares about all his students and he teaches more than just bio 131 he has more than 10 other classes he responds to emails so fast and grades our exams not even in10 minutes im taking him for anatomy 1 and 2 he teachers VERY good and its easy dont take bio for ur first semester and btw im dumb thats why i failed

Professor Ramey is a well respected professor. He explains topics very well. I had him for a 8-week Summer course and he made it bearable. He gives quizzes that help the grade. Would tell you what to study exactly for the quiz, impossible to get a 0. He replies to emails often and he grades exams incredibly fast ( hour after exam) 100% recommended

Im a procrastinator and do bare min to get an A. His tests are fair, use his study guides! Ex credit on all exams. If you want to genuinely learn/apply yourself/are going into medicine, TAKE HIM!

Anyone on here complaining about this professor is due to them not studying and trying to put no work in while passing. He's a great professor, his lectures are very well detailed. If you literally just listen to the lectures you can get 100% on the exams. His exams are straight forward and doesn't do trick questions.

I literally adore this professor!! His explanations are very concise and to the point, and if you're struggling with a lab he's very understanding and helpful. His exams and response sheets are also very straightforward, like as long as you pay attention during lab and take notes you'll absolutely pass

Ramey is clear, concise, and straight-forward. He wants everyone to succeed and just apply themself!! If you go to class and spend some time studying outside of class, you will be just fine. I learned so much and was actually able to retain the information. I would totally take his class again for credit and recommend to a friend.

Exams are straightforward and not tricky. He has quizzes before each lab and if you're late and someone has finished the quiz you cant take them. Decent teacher, I'd take him again. He's kind of sassy and it makes him a bit unapproachable but I guess it's just his personality

Professor Ramey was honestly not a bad professor vs all the other Anatomy professors on campus, I would say he is one of the best ones there. Weekly quizzes and in class activities. Make sure to watch the videos he provides for lecture because they are VERY beneficial for the exams. Provides extra credit! Just apply urself and u will do gd
