This is a fun and crazy class. Mr. Stanley is easy to listen to and adds humur to his lectures. Yes!!! Take his class for speech.
Mr. Stanley is so great! he is an awesome teacher!!! i would tell anyone to take this class. he goes over material very well. he makes speech fun. he has an awesome sense of humor to go along with the class. you would never get nervous when doin speeches.
I loved going to class. He's funny, and the course is fun. If this is a course you need, take it with Stanley.
mr. stanley is a ****. he's funny easy going and an awesome teacher. take his class you won't regret it.
Mr. Stanley is hot! His class was great, I loved it.
Stanley is an awsome teacher...he is so cool and laid back and he relates to almost anyone...just dont fall asleep unless you like getting random things thrown at you such as chalk or erasers.lol
Hilarious. He can tie humor into anything. There were nights where you could have sold tickets to this class. When it comes to grades, though, he's dead serious and tells everyone exactly how to improve their speeches on an individual basis. Stanley's really on the ball.
Stanley was AWESOME! He keeps every class interesting and tells you exactly what you need to do to earn a good grade and tells you exactly what you did wrong if you don't get it! I would encourage EVERYONE to take his class!!
He is very serious about grading. He knows when you put a lot of work into your speeches and he doesn't cut you any slack if you wait until the last minute. He loves to see a well prepared speech. He is VERY funny and he will do anything to help you. I recommend this class.
He is so funny and makes class fun! And he's hot so that makes it even better! Great teacher.
Very nice. Is very clear and as he is lecturing he goes "Test Question" about 10 times so everyone knows exactly what will be on his tests. He tries to make class interesting, even with extremely loud giggling red heads! He knows what he is talking about which makes it easier to learn. good teacher!
Most people will agree that Speech classes are not their favorites but it wasn't bad!! I was able to feel comfortable at the podium and learned alot on current events from hearing other's speechs. Plus he's not bad to look at!!!
Awesome
Unless his large amount of cursing bothers you a lot, I recommend him whole-heartedly.
This guy is the man. Big sports fan so I would recommend you watch a lot of Sportscenter and it will usually keep him off topic. Speeches are enjoyable. Mid term can kind of bite you in the a$$ if your not careful. He likes Southern Niss so wear a T-shirt or make one that has them on it. He will love you.
Great guy ( a young Schjott/Barker), made the class interesting and not as scary. Speeches do creep up on you so you gotta stay on your toes. He's all about class participation. Overall great teacher.
He made speaking in front of others not so scary! Great teacher! I learned so much in his class.
"hubris" very "hubris" He didn't appreciate real world experience as he did standard rhetoric, which is his so-called expertise. However, he's a good guy. His class is easy.
Funny dude!! He will make you more comfortable as a public speaker...I know I am. You will only get a B is you slip up on his exams. Worth taking!
Excellent! I thought like most I was gonna hate speech...but nevermind....i surprisingly love it!
I took stanley a logn time ago, honestly my favorite teacher. Every time someone asks me that question, stanley comes to my mind. He still remembers my face. Good times, class is a breeze
Stanley is one of the best instructors OWC has. He makes one of the most hated subjects seem fun with his easy going personality. If bad language offends you, you should not take his class.
Very funny, yet serious when it comes to using the correct speech techniques.Took the weekend class. If you work well under pressure I'd reccommend it, otherwise take the regular class. During the weekend class you have 3 weekends to deliver 4 speeches, take a midterm and final.
It takes a great instructor to make Public Speaking remotely enjoyable, and Stanley definitely does that. He's always on-time, always prepared, and always on-topic. AND, he's extremely easy on the eyes! :)

had a blast with this class
Best class I've ever taken. I enjoyed going to class and made sure I was never late. But surprisingly I learned much more then in any of my other classes too. I can't sit through a speech any more without recognizing flaws or weak points. Take this class!
Stanley is a great instructor and he knows how to make class entertaining. He teaches you what you need to know and I really recommend everyone taking a speech class with him!
Best teacher I've ever had!
Loved it!! Stanley is the best teacher I've had all through college! He makes class fun, educational. He realy relates it to his students!
HE is a great teacher....i love his class
TAKE HIM! I took him on Eglin and it was worth the drive. Easy to follow, like to keep the class interesting. 4 speeches and 2 tests. I got an A in the class. So glad I took him! He is beyond what i expected. Doesn't keep you the full time. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!! need the book though.
Great teacher, couldnt say a bad thing about him. Very easy class only have to give four speeches and only two are big and envolve research.
Great class, really enjoyed learning because Mr. Stanley made a boring subject interesting and easy to learn. Very thorough and relates well to students. Highly reccomend taking this class rather than clepping or taking at a different college.
The best teacher ever!!! very enthusiastic. Knows what hes talking about. Loves his job. Very laid back.
Wonderful teacher. Makes speaking an easy task. Teaches very relavant material. Easy, if you take good notes and take time to study!
A great teacher with an outstanding sense of humor. He survived through 4 of my speeches which will leave you in stitches. If you relax and throw some humor in you will love the class. Even though no one will ever be able to live up to my "MR. HAPPY" speech(greatest speech ever given)....his class is great!
Mr. Stanley will make you cry- but in a good way you will laugh your hiney off the entire semester. He is just amazing, he is very clear, concise and a compassionate teacher. He is also the most hilarious person I have ever met, you will definitely not want to miss a class.
AWESOME!! he is so funny, he relates to you, and he will help you whenever you need it. i had him at 9 a.m. and i did not even mind going to his class. he is very understanding, and he made class fun.
Surprisingly enjoyable class! He's funny and good looking!
He rocks my freakin world! Not to mention that the class so useful! I wish he taught more classes, I took speach and interpersonal communications and loved them both, I will miss him next semester!!!!
Great personality, makes the class very interesting.
teacher tries to make it easy. I dont like to write, so didnt enjoy when it was paper time. overall good teacher.
I loved this class and wish Id worked harder. Mr Stanley tells you what will be tested on versus what you should learn so you dont need the book but its only $30 anyway. He has a great energy that makes learning fun. I think the instruction he gives you for writing a speech will even help in english.
Speech class isn't the best class to be taking. He kept it exciting and interesting. Fun down to earth. "Eye Candy" is a plus! ;-)
Still in his class, but so far, he's a pretty good professor. If you found speech boring before like I did, he's going to change it. He makes class worth getting up in the morning for.
Very passionate about his job and it shows. Never a dull moment in speech class, didn't think that was possible! Keeps you interested and focused even early in the morning. He's a no BS teacher as far as giving you the truth and nothing but the truth. Speeches weren't as hard to write and give as I had previously thought.Great class,(Don't b lazy!)
Very enthusiastic about his work. Makes everything something you can relate too. He has a voice that he does that sort of reminds me of Andy Dick. Really funny, Humor is one of his best qualities. He is straightforward with how he grades his tests, and he is fair.
This teacher is fun and interactive. You can talk to him easily on ant subject. There are 4 speeches. The book is used best for references.
I was dreading this class!! Professor Stanley changed that immediately. He is hilarious, love his stories , love his jokes...you will be cracking up the whole time. You have to write/deliver 4 speeches...yes, there is work. If you put time into your speeches you should be fine. The tests are super easy. You will not be disappointed!
You have to do 4 speeches,he does grade pretty hard on content, delivery, time etc. put some effort into them and you'll get an A. 2tests that are not that hard he says test question when covering material. not that bad of a class he makes it enjoyable and I feel like I learned more about writing papers and speeches than English ever taught me.
I took Stanley for a fast track weekend class. He makes everything super clear and the tests are easy. He tells you what is going to be on them. You do 4 speeches. If you put effort in them you will do good. I highly recommend this teacher.
I took him for the short (three weekends) class. He was great. As long as you put forth the effert it is an easy A. Would recomend him to anyone that needs to take a speech class.
Super fun teacher. Every class was interesting and I looked forward to it. You have 4 assignments the whole class which are pretty easy. Just dont plagarise and actually try the speeches and you'll get an A. Take him if you can.
Stanley is a really good teacher! With a great personality & good looks too..lol Very helpful, he tells you exactly what you need to work on to receive a good grade. I signed up to take this class at Eglin during lunch, just to get out of work but he made it fun and interesting so I looked forward to going to it everyday. Glad I took it.
LOVE HIM! He is freaking hilarious, and makes this class really easy and laid back. I had no interest in taking this class, but he changed my mind. Just take notes, study a little before tests, and put a serious effort into the speeches, and you will do just fine!
I love him, he rules. He's very witty which makes the class a pleasure to attend. Just take the speeches seriously and you'll do fine. I highly recommend taking him.
Favorite professor ever! Professor Stanley treats his students with respect and is one of the funniest people you'll ever meet. The tests in his class are easy, but the speeches are not a joke. You will learn a lot from him if you follow his instructions and START YOUR SPEECH ON TIME. On a side note, I think I used my book once. Take notes instead.
great teacher, fun classes, funny guy...very causal style class atmosphere, a definite must take professor and class!
Class is easy as long as you do what is required of you. He is funny, friendly, helpful, and very imformative. Excellent instructor
He is a great & fun teacher! He is very helpful! His class is not boring! Just do what is asked of you (which is not unreasonable) and you should love taking his class!
Wonderful teacher! He makes the class very enjoyable. Always has jokes to keep everyone laughing, and he gives you the test questions for the two exams. He grades the speeches fairly hard, but if you prepared you will do fine. Even if you do not have to take speech, this is a class worth taking!
Awesome class. Very interesting andfun to go to. Barely any homework and great classroom discussions. Group project was a challange but if you start early it is easy. Highly recommend.
awesome class, great teaching style, very laid back, but expects you to be an adult (responsible/accountable). I enjoyed having him for speech class so much that I took his communications class the following semester...one class we stood outside and stereotyped passerbyers... Easy A if you do the work and just try! Wish he offered other courses
Awesome teacher...I hated public speaking before taking this class...now, I still hate it...but Mr. Stanley makes everything fun and interesting. Definitely recommend him for all your Comm needs.
Stanley is my favorite teacher at NWFSC. He is very helpful and nice. He explains how to write a speech well and is very good at teaching the different parts and the usefulness of writing and vocalizing a speech.
Very likable professor, lectures are always interesting. Tests only require a little studying, if any. Writing my speeches was difficult for me, but he grades them fair enough. You'll only fail the class if you miss a speech.
Awesome class. Easy elective. Simple assignments and you make lots of friends :)
Not an easy A, he skews the grading scale so that an A is like a 94% or higher. He is a fun teacher and always keeps class interesting. He grades on eye contact, so try not to read your speeches.
Stanley was amazing! I wish I could take his class again! He is so personable and he respects you as a student. He is very honest and entertaining. The class flew by!
Great professor! If you show up to class and do your work it's an easy A or B class. He does expect you to be accountable and punctual with assignments, but I consider that a pro, not a con to his class.
He was really nice. His lectures were clear cut and easy to understand. If you actually do the speeches and practice them you will get a decent grade. He was very outgoing and was understanding when the reason for not being in class was reasonable.
I was dreading having to take this class; after experiencing what an awesome professor he is, I quickly fell in love with it. Professor Stanley is a great lecturer, and he is hilarious. He makes going to class fun. If I could take him again, I would in a heartbeat! He is my favorite professor, hands down.
Two words: personal responsibility. As someone with anxiety, I hate public speaking. I still don't like it, but he eases the anxiety a bit. Stanley makes sure you're prepared for your speech, but you are responsible for writing and researching it. I hate his grading scale (8 point scale), but he is fair while he grades. Would take him again.
Ronnie Stanley is quite possibly the greatest teacher I have ever taken. He was there whenever I needed another perspective on my papers, and even offered once to take the student to lunch that could get their friends to join our Public Speaking class. If you ever get the chance to take one of his classes, snap it up!
Stanley was honestly the coolest professor I've ever had! He was super helpful, hilarious, and helped me overcome my fear of public speaking! Try your very best and you'll excel highly in his class.
Stanly is the best. His classes are really funny and interesting. His tests are super easy. He is a bit harsh sometimes when grading speeches i thought , but its all fair and he explains all of it. My biggest thing is that there where no suprises. If you didn't know when the speech was. youre either def or a werent there.. I would recomend him.
As long as your "personally responsible" you'll pass.
Stanley is hands down the best professor I have ever had. As someone who avoided public speaking, I wish I could take it again. He is down to earth, and makes you laugh the entire class. Take him if you are worried about public speaking, he will make you comfortable and successful. He lets you choose your topics. Easy tests.
Such a great teacher! Most people dread public speaking, but he makes the class so fun and interesting. Really passionate about helping students do their best and he really makes you feel comfortable in delivering a speech. He is extremely helpful, just ask. Would take the class again if I could!
He's an okay professor but he lacks empathy for his students and a lot of people that were in my class thought the same. If you don't attend his class you most likely won't pass, very strict on attendance policy. Nice guy, really sarcastic jokes sometimes. All in all a pretty ok class.
Stanley is an example of a teacher who earns your respect and doesn't demand it. Two tests-- both simple if you review notes from class. He grades the speeches tough, but fairly and gives feedback. Spend time researching and preparing for speeches one will be successful. Great teacher!
Stanley doesn't make generalizations or beat around the bush. He will hit you with facts to back what he teaches and thoroughly explains subjects and will stay after class to answer any questions you might have. Lectures are engaging, energetic and very entertaining. I plan on taking any class he teaches because it will equate to more money for me
An incredible man who cares deeply.
Best Professor at NWFSC. Funny and understanding. In class there is one group presentation, some homework, and two test. Super easy and makes class enjoyable.
Stanley is super funny, very energetic, and a really cool dude. He's very understanding of a college student. However do not expect an easy grade, he makes you work for it. He grades speeches very particularly, but guides you in the right direction and is willing to help. Just take the notes, prepare, and follow the grading rubric and you're set.
A super awesome and down to earth teacher. Personal responsibility is all it takes to get a decent grade and he makes it even easier by telling you almost verbatim what's on the tests. You'd love the laid back energy of the class and how he makes it easy for even the jitteriest of students.
I actually really loved attending this class as well as his public speaking class. Talks about real world problems and situations. Definitely would recommend for everyone take one of his classes for an elective.
Loved this class even though I hate speeches. He gives amazing lectures and good feedback. He is easy to talk to and makes speeches less scary by giving you advice. Would take again if I had to.
Stanley is seriously THE BEST. He'll tell you flat out at the beginning of the year that his class is about "personal responsibility," which is true. What I remember being graded on: - 4 speeches - 2 outlines - 2 bibliographies - 2 tests (midterm & final) p.s., if you really try in his class, he's not shy about rounding ur grade up a few points
Stanley was such a great teacher. Part of the grade is attendance, so you should probably show up. He makes you work, but what he wants you to do is clearly portrayed. His lectures were the best. He is really funny and overall a great teacher. I hated public speaking but he made the class great!
Mr. Stanley is very interesting and is good at keeping my attention. ( I cant focus if a teacher is boring) He is also a very tough grader and I wouldnt say he is very understanding. I was doing well in his class and then failed the last couple assignments over a misunderstanding. I would take him again, but he definitely makes you work hard.
Stanley is the best ever. I took his interpersonal communications class and it was super easy, just show up and pay attention, follow his rules and be respectful and you'll be fine. Little homework. Tests were open note. He's hilarious and super cool. Best prof ever
This class has been totally awesome! Not only has Stanley made the learning process fun, he also has helped every student with stage fright break out of their shell. The class itself isn't hard, all you need to do is show up, take notes, and apply them. He's hilarious too, and wants to make a genuine connection to his students.
Hands down the BEST teacher I've ever had. He's very passionate and knowledgable of the subject and made classes fun and entertaining. I actually wanted to go to class and I became a better speaker because of this class! There are main speeches you write, but he guides you very well on how to get an A! I would recommend to anyone and everyone!
Professor Stanley is one of my favorite professors, if not the best Ive had. His lectures are so much fun and he explains everything very well. You can tell hes passionate about what hes teaching and he truly cares about students. Do the work and show up to class, youll make an A with your best effort. I recommend Stanley to everyone!!!
I LOVEEEE Stanley as a person as a grader, not so much. He is the coolest professor you will have 100%. But, definitely not an easy A. Takes off points on speeches for the smallest things, seems to give better grades to topics he likes/agrees with. Overall enjoyed his class, but wish he wouldnt grade so hard. Btw, an A in his class is 93% and up.
Professor Stanley teaches really well every step of how to be a strong and confident public speaker. He provides all the material clearly on how to develop a speech and the best you can be about it. I did not get an A for my own mistakes. Take the class seriously you need to always dress properly for your speeches and don't go over.
Love this man Stanley. Hands down my favorite prof ever. Took him for speech class and love his class sm I decided to take his interpersonal class. Although our time was cut short I enjoyed every minute of both classes. I couldnt recommend him enough. Hes a fair grader and is a personable man. Put in the work for his class and youll get an A!
Arguably one of the best Professors at NWFSC. Never a dull moment in this man's classroom, and you would be stupid not to take his class. I actually got to learn in his class, and I hate that the pandemic interrupted my ability to show up and here the legend speak himself. Great man, great Professor, and a great friend. Thanks Stanley.
Stanley is the best professor Ive ever had. I looked forward to his classes every week. He really makes every student feel cared for and always makes his lectures so much fun. I would recommend his classes to anyone. I took him for both public speaking and interpersonal communication, hes really the best. Im going to miss him a ton.
Ronnie is one of the best teachers I have ever had. If taken online there is a lot of videos to watch for this class since he seems to go over everything via a video instead of making you read something. He does try to make the videos entertaining and short so you aren't bored. The class is very easy to pass as long as you make an effort to pass.
First of all, he lets you call him Stanley which is cool. He really makes an effort to get to know his students and he is absolutely HILARIOUS. There were times where I was cracking up laughing in his classroom. He's very approachable but at the same time you respect him and will genuinely want to do well in his class.
Probably the best instructor I had in my 2 years at NWFSC. I took all 3 of his classes. He is fun, thought-provoking, caring and gives amazing lectures. His heart is definitely in teaching and caring for the education of his students. I highly recommend any of his classes.
I love Stanley's class. I took public speaking with him. He's super laid back and really gets to know you. You definitely have to work for an A, but he gives you clear instructions and rubrics. On tests, he basically gives you all the answers ahead of time. If you don't mind talking in front of your class for a little bit 4 times TAKE HIS CLASS!
The best professor I ever had at NWFSC. I wish I had taken his class in person, but COVID 19 happened and I had to take him online.
I've taken Stanley for Public Speaking and Interpersonal Communication which I just completed. He is one of the most genuine professors who teaches because his passion truly drives him, hands down most thorough and all around best professors i've had at NWFSC. Highly recommend, must complete homework assignments on time and take notes!
I took this class online, 4 speeches and 2 tests. The grading rubrics are very helpful.
This class was fairly easy to pass! Four speeches total, only two being difficult. Stanley has really long and a ton of lecture videos, but honestly they are incredibly helpful. I recommend sitting through them because it makes writing your speech so much easier. Emails back fast! Caring and funny! Highly recommend
Stanley is the BEST teacher I've had at NWFSC. If it was possible to have him for every class I'd want it to be so. He's understanding, charismatic and highly intelligent. If you want to have a good semester just join his class and all the worries of your other classes will be overshadowed by the great time you'll have with Stanley!
Great professor, the lectures always made sense. Was very clear what were graded on, and attendance was 5% of our final grade. You don't really need to go to class to make sense of how to write the speeches, though. Clear grading scheme, gives great feedback on all your speeches. Midterm and final were super easy.
Best Teacher ever. Makes class fun to go to, and has a great personality!
Fabulous teacher. Not an easy class you will have to put work into your speeches and you will have to put a little bit of study time into the tests. But if you are willing to just do what he says on time you will get an
worst professor I ever had. Inflexible and difficult
You have a midterm and a final exam that are easy multiple choice. He points out answers in notes. 4 speeches that are all really easy. Don't procrastinate and you will do wonderful. His lectures are so fun to listen to and he has a great personality. One of my favorite teachers, definitely take him! I recommend taking in person rather than online.
Stanley is very nice and very funny. He outlines exactly everything at the beginning of the year, it was an easy a, just don't slack at the end of the semester :)
Professor Stanley wants all of his students succeed so he provides us with all the materials we need to succeed. The example speech outlines helped me format my speeches. The lectures were very entertaining and informative in which, he gave us the answers to all the test questions. If you meet the criteria for a speech you would get a good grade.
Stanley is great! He's very funny and you can tell even in his online lectures. 4 speeches and 2 tests for the whole class. He sets clear guidelines for all 4 speeches and grades fairly. Gives example speeches and outlines for the last two so you know what he's looking for. If you have to take a public speaking class take him!
I took Stanley online, which defeats the purpose of public speaking, but I still feel that I got a lot out of it! He's the only professor I've ever enjoyed listening to the lectures of. He's hilarious, but still very respectable. Very clear on what he's looking for and responds to emails in a timely manner.
My greatest regret about this class has been taking it online. I'm sure Stanley is a great professor in person, but that didn't translate well online. There were too many lectures, and I had to skip most of them before I wrote anything just to make the due date. Hard to follow, would recommend taking this class in person if possible.
First, he lets you call him Stanley, which is cool. SPC2300 is a class where you get to talk to classmates and really get to know them. There is a group presentation. Each group (he assigns the groups) picks a chapter out of the book to teach the class about. Honestly, a very easy class, designed to give you a break from your rigorous classes.
Professor Stanley was great. The grass grade was based on 2 tests and 4 speeches and everything you needed to prepare for the class was available since day one.
Professor Stanley's interpersonal communication's class was an interesting experience. It felt like an episode of Community and I honestly didn't learn much in the class. He structures it so students teach the majority of the material for team building efforts, which is smart, however, his remarks made the entire class uncomfortable at times.
Stanley is a very tough grader, definitely not an easy A.Takes off points on speeches for the smallest things. Better feedback should be given. I would receive a 100 on my speech outline, but receive a C on the actual speech.I had points taken off for so many things you would think he could have addressed in order for me to make actual corrections.
Great guy. Very useful class. Learn the intricacies of speaking.
10/10. love stanley
Professor Stanley wasn't a great professor for his online courses. I took him because of his high rating, but my experience with him was awful. He's a harsh grader, and hard to get into contact with. He doesn't understand that things happen outside of his class that might cause a delayed assignment. I do not recommend Professor Stanley.
Stanley is a fun but tough grader. Definitely not an easy A, but puts in clear guidelines. Unstuck ai was super helpful for speech prep. Take this class if you want a challenge and to improve your public speaking!
Awesome professor with very clear grading criteria that he gives you on day one. Only 4 speeches, all of which you choose your topic for, and you get your grade immediately. Very easy to work with if you need to miss class, just let him know in advance and you can reschedule your test or speech. He tells you every test question in his lectures.
He was super passionate about what he teaches about and he is very funny and makes the lectures very enjoyable. 10/10 would recommend.
Take his interpersonal class in person its awesome, you have 2 exams, first one is on 4 chapters from the book but is easy if you study. Second half of the semester is group projects being presented and final exam is open note, easy class and you learn a lot too.
If you have a life outside of school and you just need the credits, do not take Ronnie Stanley! He is very overboard with lectures & doesn't care about your personal life/time. He also won't accept late work, no matter the circumstances and feels that your life needs to revolve around him. He also makes you upload your speeches to YouTube. Very bad
Stanley is great! I learned a lot about public speaking and I feel like I genuinely improved. He's great about remembering and connecting with his students as well. I highly recommend this class and I suggest taking good notes and following the rubric when creating your speeches.
