Excellent prof. Definitely take this course with him. He is extremely knowledgeable, passionate about the subject, has very nice personality, and is very helpful. He is sweet to listen to! He does not use the text book a lot, but you might need it for the 2nd half of the course- after the midterm. Make sure to attend the lectures.

Despite some challenges with his language barrier, Dr. Shabon is a very enthusiastic and approachable professor. He's fair, helpful, and really funny! He also has really amazing stories from his professional and personal experiences!

Very knowledgeable and used examples of his personal life to illustrate concepts enhanced in lectures. His diversity class taught me a lot of issues in the world. Taking his policy class next semester, this should be good! He does have an accent that may be hard to understand but nevertheless his class is not difficult but rather enjoyable.

Shabon is a solid dude for sure. This class is basically how to not be human garbage 101, so unless you're bigoted or a generally lousy human you will pass this class. Most of the course content is liberal as hell, but although he has not said it explicitly, he is definitely much further left then the course material he unfortunately has to teach.

He is very helpful and patient, and won't move on until he is sure everyone is comfortable with the material. assignments are great preparation for the tests. lectures are very clear, you probably won't need your textbook. his accent isn't too difficult, but he speaks rather quietly.

Professor Shabon was very helpful this semester. I was very worried about online courses but he really made it interesting and was very helped to every student through the course material in the live stream sessions. One of my favorite professors during the term, truly stands out. Leans more toward group projects, but showcased their deep experience in the social work field. Classes felt engaging and open to discussion, which made them feel interactive, not just a lecture. They were also understanding and made the learning environment feel supportive.
