This woman is a genius! so much so that anything she says goes right over your head. There were probably 5 people left in the class and the ones that stayed finished with F's & D's!! She is extremely difficult and shows no mercy! Do Not take her if you don't like science.
She is a bit difficult to understand however, chemistry is a very difficult subject to conprehend. You must have some intelligence and algebra skills to do good. She lets you use sheets with formulas which some teacher do not. Her reviews are like the tests so they prepare you. Bottom line is you must study to do good in chemistry. Do ALL the work.
She is one of the hardest teachers that I have ever had to deal with if you're looking for one of the hardest unrealistic chem teachers go right ahead and take her, then you'll end up thinking hmmmmmmmmm maybe I should have listened to those people that told me not to
don't even pay attention to the whiners who write bad stuff about Mrs. Prasad. She is clear, concise, and you will learn chemistry, period. If you don't like doing a lot of challenging but thought-provoking work, you shouldn't be in higher education! She is a VERY nice lady.
very unorganized, acts as if she doesn't want to be in the class room. She misses steps, complains the book being poor, but does not provide extra work. Majority of class failing. Never gives any reviews and rushes thru each chapter. If two students understand concepts she continues even though others have expressed not understanding the concept.
Down right the worst teacher I've ever had. She is an intelligent person and is generally nice but she is a ridiculously hard teacher. If you really want to learn chemistry I would recomm. another teacher... one that will take the time to make sure the class in understanding the material.
I would not recommend taking this professor. She acts like the class is bothering her when we ask questions and then she asks why we are not asking questions. Her reviews are nothing like the test. She goes extremely fast in class. She reads the slides and expects the class to comprehend what was just read to us. You have to reteach yourself.
Don't take this teacher!!!!!
The worst teacher i have ever had in my life.Whatever you do DONT take her,she gets after you for not knowing the answer & seems to forget that for some of us it our 1st time learning this. Its also very hard to understand what she is saying since she has an accent. Makes you go thru many steps when its not even nec.you'd be wasting ur money & time.
very good
She's not that bad. Very organized, seems intimidating at first, but she is just trying to present to you well organized information so you can get a good grade on tests. If you are an organized person she is great because you might not even need the book anymore, just copy her notes on the board. Excellent chem teacher!!
Yes, this is a difficult class, but I don't know anybody that loves chemistry. However, she is merciful.I ended up with a B! All you have to do is study and study hard because it goes fast. And those of you saying that you couldn't understand because of her accent, you are just trying to excuse yourself.
I hate chemistry but I loved Ms. Prasad! Our class was only once a week which is a bad idea if you are an extreme procrastinator.(like me) On the other hand she was very helpful and gave extra credit towards tests. Study her notes and DO NOT skip class! Awesome lady!
First of all, i think its hilarious to see all of the bad comments for Mrs. Prasad. She is the SWEETEST professor, and actually knows whats shes talking about. She does have an accent but it is not hard to understand at all. She is amazing, but she's not for slackers (like the ppl who wrote bad about her) she is AWESOME!i wld take her again!!!!!!!!
She is a great teacher and I would take another class with her any time. She does give u homework and she will not tell u exactly what is going to be on the test. But if u do what she tells u to do u will do fine. There is a comprehensive final and it is not easy, u will have to study if u want the A. But she is wonderful. RECOMENDED :)
Mrs. Prasad is the best chemistry teacher I have ever had. The material is difficult, but she will take the time to help you understand. She gives homework and quizzes for every chapter; the homework is due on the day of the test and the quizzes are done online. This is a very helpful way to get you to study. Also there are extra credit quizzes aft
great teacher!
Best teacher in chem. She is tough, but clear and concise,. She is kind and helpful, everything a teacher should be. her tests are hard and it is hard to pass her class. But a fair and very helpful teacher. if you want to learn chem take her.
Prasad is a very fair teacher. Print out the notes before each chapter and read ahead so you know what to expect in lecture. She uses blackboard for online quizes. Test are hard, for sure, but she offers extra credit. I've NEVER had chemistry before. not even in HS. I made a B in this class and will take her for 1307.
Able to comprehend the lab directions and also explains the procedure the correct way. Above average professor.
She is an amazing teacher, the test is hard and she does grade hard but if you read ahead and if you have questions she will help you and you will do great!!! i have to admit that i hate science any kind of science but she helped me alot!!!
She is an amazing teachers and her lectures are always clear and shes more than always willing to help. But her test are very hard, even with studying and extra credit i barely managed a C each test.I wouldnt take her again, I'll probably have to retake chemistry.
She's hard! Real hard! I have studied my butt off for her exams and stressed myself out from studying to the point where I've thrown up! I feel like she didn't fully prepare me for her exams. She wants to lecture as if you are already in nursing school so it will prepare you, but she also lectures as if you know the material as much as she does.
She is tough! Prepare yourself to use your brain and think analytically. Her tests are "tricky" but that's only b/c she doesn't spoon feed you. If you apply what you learn, you can work through her tests and do well. I worked very hard to earn my 'A'. She is a great teacher. A bit fast paced, but really smart. Keep up, read and stay one step ahea
She is an awesome teacher! She is very fair and understands and helps in different situations. Great teacher, I would definitely take her again!!!
She very often confuses the formulas or explanations and make students work harder or double cuz her mistakes.
She is a great professor & is very enthusiastic about chem which made the class alot more interesting. Im currently taking her in a maymester & so far have made an A=exam 1 & C=exam 2 & the class ends in 1 week. I think an A is def. possible if you apply yourself. I mean come on Im taking CHEM w/ no prior chem and Im taking it in 3 weeks!
She is a great professor. Very engaging, very articulate and very interested. She is tough and does not give reviews. But she is helpful and really encourages you to succeed.
She is tough but fair. Just be sure to study, study, study. Her tests are pretty hard. You will learn a lot from her and she always gave us reviews. As long as you practice the problems in the book you should be ok. She does not jus hand over a good grade, you must earn it. She did give lots of extra credit though.
She is a very good teacher who is interested that students learn. She is tough but very fair. SHe is appraochable and very understanding but a C or F is possible without hard work.
Didn't like her at all. She goes through the chapters way too fast. she rushes you on the practice problems and looks at you like you're dumb when you don't understand it/them. Willing to help but she acts like you should know it already. Def won;t take her again.
IT is not fair to criticize such a good professor. She takes the time to makes sure others understand. This is college and speed is important. She prepares you for what is to come in universities.
I never saw her look at somebody like they were dumb for not understanding. In fact, she welcomed any kind of question and took the time to answer. Her biggest priority is for her students to understand and she does explain things very well, however, she is not easy and you have to work hard for your grade. She often gave extra credit.
This professor is amazing. She is great at lecturing before lab and is also very helpful when questions are asked during lab. She also went above and beyond the call of duty to help me with my lecture course that I had with another professor.
Mrs. Prasad is a really good teacher. She is a little hard to understand with her accent, but she is very fun. I took her for the Maymester and received an A, but if you have NEVER taken Chemistry before... DO NOT take the Maymester b/c it is so fast paced. You need the book for in class problems, 2 tests and the final, 9 chapters, 1 quiz per chap.
Mrs. Prasad is such a good teacher. If you don't pass it's because you are lazy. She is really sweet and is willing to help you if you take the time to go to her office or talk to her after class. She also would never make you feel stupid for saying a wrong answer. She always encourages you to talk and it ends up helping you.
Great teaching. She is very organized and offers real world examples. Great course but not for slackers/. You earn your grade and it is a hard class. So be prepared.
Prof Prasad really teaches you how to write a lab report. She is great at explaining things and for expecting students to be prepared for college. She is one of the few teachers who takes the time to really teach!!!!. But she is hard. You really have to study and do your work.
I really do think she is a great teacher. The class overall is not all that hard but her tests really force you to study. The whole subject is a memorization course so it is naturally hard. This professor really knows what she is talking about and really knows how to explain it well. She makes sure no one is stumped or confused.
I really enjoyed Ms Prasad as a teacher as she tries to keep class interactive. I definitely had to study to understand the material, but she was always approachable and willing to answer questions or clarify things that I had difficulty understanding.
I've been attending NVC for 4 years and this by far the toughest instructor I've ever taken. So much homework, so much material, she teaches as if we're going to Harvard. I wish I didn't take her. Expect A LOT of studying/memorization and tests from hell, literally! She think she's fair, but she is NOT! don't take her!
So the course is hard, she treats you like you are going to college and expects a lot of work just like college- what is wrong with that picture? It is chemistry and it is college-duh! She offered a lot of extra credit and explained problems over and over. The class is hard but not impossible. She is the best teacher out there but not for slackers
I loved her. I would definitely take her again. She is NOT an easy teacher, but very clear, concise, and direct. I always felt like I understood the material. She does go fast, though, but she understands that we are new to this and is VERY easy to approach with questions.
excellent instructor. No question is a dumb question to her. She understands the material is not easy and is always willing to. This is not a slack of class. U must STUDY.Test are multiple choice for 1305&written for 1307.Quizzes are always online open book,HW is extra credit and at the end of the semester she offers an extra credit test
Mrs. Prasad is extremely hard to understand. She goes EXTREMELY fast each chapter and hardly explains. If 3 students understand, she'll continue even though the majority of the class didn't. Issues way too much homework it's IMPOSSIBLE to find time to study!!! She also requires a paper for each of her labs. Way too much work and no time to Study!
Personally, I think Prasad is a really good professor. Yes, she may come off as tough to some people but her clarity of the material is so well that the exams shouldn't be an issue. After all, the homework is extra credit?! Can't get much better than that! only con for this class is she fell behind in her lectures & rushed a little towards the end.
A hard yet gentle teacher with a passion for teaching. It is definitely possible to get an A or B, but you will work. She gives you extra credit - take advantage of it but do not slack. You will regret it.
This teacher is horrible, very hard. She expects everything on the test to be a certain way or its wrong. And the test has nothing she covers. She covers one thing for about 10mins and thats what is on the test. Majority of the test.
Slackers as usual will complain because this teacher sets the bar high. She teaches so amazingly and expects the same standards of students. Not for slackers..those who work hard will do just fine..She is helpful, approachable, and very fair. if anyone is thinkng that college was supposed to be easy should not be taking classes period.
Had her for lab. She was very helpful in explaining the labs plus any questions we had on material from our lecture class pertaining to the lab. She does require prelabs to be turned in at the start of class unless there are questions that she graciously clarified the material and allowed us to complete them prior to starting the lab. Taking again.
HARD CLASS! You will need to put effort in and attend all classes! She does give many extra credit opportunities (including the homework). Lectures are fast paced, but she does do example problems in class. She sets the bar high, but you can tell that she really wants her students to succeed. Overall, she is a hard but good teacher!
I took the Maymester class with Professor Prasad and I do not regret it. However, it is very fast paced and you need to go to class every day! I missed one day of class due to illness, and I was behind the rest of the class! I had an A at the beginning but made a C for the semester. She is very nice and helpful but you have to study to do well!
Very, very horrible teacher. Read every single word from powerpoints and no reviews before tests. Tests were extremely hard. I highly recommend not taking her.
her labs were confusing because she would tell us to read the lab before coming to class & then at class she changed stuff completely. She isn't really helpful because my group ask for help and she didn't came. There was even a girl who cried at the lab because of frustrations of things not been clear. she does not provide review for the final
She's very, very helpful. She was my lab teacher but not my lecture teacher. I regret not taking her for lecture. It was a huge mistake. The material I don't understand in lecture suddenly becomes clear in her lab classes. She's very good at explaining things and demands your resepct and attention. Would take again.
Hardest professor I've ever taken. I passed with a high C, all others mostly failed. I failed all tests but passed because of extra credit. I'm not a "lazy" or "slacking" student. I studied very hard for this course but I think she is not the teacher for me. 75 min. twice a week is not enough time in a semester to learn good Chemistry.
This lab course requires mandatory attendance, if you miss once you can still pass with an A. Some labs are short but most are long. Final was open book. Really enjoyed her course it helped out with lecture Chem 1307.
The class was a lot of fun. She allowed cross talk on related topics. The quizzes were nothing like the exams. Were the exams were more writing then multiple choice. Highly recommend using here test prep questions. She provides most online material and not require a textbook. :)
It's wrong to generalize people who failed as slackers. I'm studying HARD but her tests are TOUGH. If this is your last semester before transferring, CHOOSE REAOCH! I wish I had. My GPA is going to take a HIT so don't risk yours. That being said, she's a wonderful teacher but think twice about taking this class unless it's you're only one!
She's a good teacher, but it's hard to understand her accent sometimes. Plus she's one of those teachers that get really in-depth, and it ends up confusing people. The tests are usually kind of hard, but she's pretty reliable when it comes to giving you help after class.
I studied every day and managed to pass with a C. She is a great teacher, but her tests are 50% of the grade and they are SO DIFFICULT. She does NOT give reviews for her tests ,and Tests aren't like the homework. Pay attention to due dates on papers. I turned a paper in 5 min late and went from a B to a low C 2 days before the semester ended. ):
Mrs. Roopa was a really good teacher, and very sweet and personable. The major downfall of the class was that she doesn't give reviews for ANY of the tests. And the averages for the tests would be in the 60's. She does give quite a bit of EC for the exams. Passing is possible if you study hard and pay attention in class!
Great professor, labs usually don't take long
She's a very good teacher and I recommend any science major to take her chem lecture class because she is very clear about what you learn, she is always willing to clarify any questions, and she is very fair about grading. Her teaching is very easy to understand, but you do need to study for her tests to pass them.
Great teacher, excellent teaching and very approachable. She has no attitude and is willing to help. is very respectful of students and patiently answers the dumbest questions asked. She does set the bar very high so if you are looking for an easy A not happening. this teacher makes you work for your grade. Study and you will be fine.
Very hard teacher, I wouldn't recommend her. Your overall grade is based on quizzes and exams that are given with out a review. Attendance is important.
LOVE Professor Prasad!! Chemistry is not necessarily an easy course but she does an EXCELLENT job of explaining everything and wants everyone to understand. She truly cares about her students. I took this course as a minimester and I HIGHLY recommend it if you have the option. It is fast paced but in many ways easier. wish I could take her again):
Ms. P was one of the best teachers i've had. She gives you all the tools you need to make a good grade. Shes very understanding and approachable. Her lectures are very straight forward. She dose move at a fast pace but if you have any questions then you need to speak up and don't be shy because she has no problem explaining to you. You must work .
She is sweet I had her for the lab! She grades easy on labs and she will help you if you have questions. Great professor!
I took Dr. Prasad and Professor Crandall Fall 2016. Take notes its for a grade. At first I was extremely lost the first day of class. I took the class just thinking it was something I had to do and in reality it was an experience. Work hard for your grade you will earn it and it will be rewarding to know the knowledge you have obtained.
Tough grader since i had her for the lab and not the lecture. Real nice and you can tell she loves what she teaches. Very straightforward expects you to do pre-lab before lab and make sure all the instructions are read beforehand.
Dr. Prasad is nice teacher very smart but took a PBL class which is lectures over videos and that was not helpful didn't feel like I learned much and I need this class for my major :/
First test was not bad at all due to review and she really helped. Next test? Most were lost and didn't understand due to going very fast and no reviews. Not many grades so once you mess up it is very hard to come back from it. Never responded to emails.
I took Professor Prasad for both Chem 1 and Chem 2 and she was amazing! I recommend her to any of my friends in town that are needing to take chemistry. Chem is a hard subject but she gives lot of examples and allows time in class for practice problems. She was very down to earth and really cares that her students understand the material! Take her!
Do not take the project based learning class a majority of the grade is based on group work. If your group is struggling then you'll see that reflected in your grades. The grades consist of 50% group work 25% test 15%homework and 10%atendance. Also there is no lecture for this course so prepare to read.
If you don't like to depend on others for your grade do not take the PBL course. You will have 2 major group projects & work with a group daily. You do have to watch the videos & read the chapters, she briefly goes over the content. Prof. Prasad was a good teacher, she loves what she does. Make sure you go to class, watch the videos & take notes!
Mostly had test and group work was considered to be a grade. She also didn't offer reviews for her class and was just expected to know all of the chapters. I would say her lectures were good, but I feel as they didn't cover everything in the chapters/tests.
She is really sweet and teaches very well. has a load voice where you can hear her across the room even outside the class room. She wants you to learn and she will help you. you do have to read for PBL, if not you can not do quizzes. test are confusing but you have group projects and labs that help. if you take her you will enjoy it but its alot of
Traditional style lecture with ppt slides that she skips thru(states wont be tested on but sometimes are), very few examples considering its a science course. No hmwk to better understand material. Xcredit assignment after, 1st exam that helped comprehend material. Make sure you read all chapter & review all ppt slides before class.
I gained a lot of respect for Dr. Prasad as a professor because she knows her chemistry. She ensures the students understand the course work through project based learning. Showing up to class is very important, as a day missed can be costly. Her method of teaching ensures we read before we come to class, making her lectures a walk in the park!
Grading is not clear... professor does not follow Her own rubrics or syllabus, do not take this professor
Let me be blunt, if you do not put in work, you will not pass. Mrs. Prasad is one of the most AMAZING professors I've ever had. You must be able to teach yourself (no text book we use K-Learn) but Mrs. Prasad explains things thoroughly, is fast paced but she will take the time to make sure you understand. Put in the effort and you'll easily pass.
I liked Dr. Prasad for chemistry. She is really good at lecturing and helps students to understand difficult concepts. She loves participation and likes when students work problems on the board. She does not give out test reviews and rarely reviews for the test so your notes have to be clear and accurate to study.
Roopa does not provide as much help as other professors do. She dont lecture enough and many students were failing/failed her course. Do not take her unless you want to fail.
Prof. Prasad is great. She does give reviews, they just entail what you need to know for the test. Furthermore, she spends an entire class period reviewing. Chemistry is hard but the use of the K-Learns, her lectures, and class / group work is beneficial. I enjoyed this professor very much, she genuinely cares about your success.
I took Profesor Prasad PBL class for the spring of 2018 and I have to say I've never learned so much in a class. She made chemistry fun and easy to learn. It's chemistry and it's obviously not an easy class and with any science course it' one in which you have to work for your grade. If you don't plan on putting effort into the class do not take it
Lots of weekly homework!!
Do not take her ONLINE class. I was expecting her to be teaching the class. It turns out she uses lecture videos from Prof. Crandall, so in reality Prof. Crandall is teach you the class not her! Furthermore she uses the Lockdown Browser for the main exams for integrity. Give credit where credit is due!
Prasad is an amazing teacher, goes super in depth to make sure students understand chemistry. If you keep up with the online assignments, the class is fairly simple. Her lab classes are 2.5 hours so if you skip you miss out on a lot. Be prepared to put effort into your assignments. Super helpful if you don't understand things, makes chemistry fun.
She is making students right now (during a pandemic) get a camera for the computer due to academic integrity issues. Some people have autoimmune diseases some have financial situations where they can't spend money on items like that. I think its fine enough to use lockdown browser but really a camera? I hope she realizes what she is doing is wrong.
I really liked Prasad but I gave her a 3 because she doesn't explain directions, the tests and reviews are nothing alike, and before tests, she has students teach the test materials. The problem with that is half of the students don't care about teaching the materials so you don't effectively learn them. She's pretty good, but maybe not the best
You will have to: A: Learn all material on your own, her lectures are not helpful, also a strong accent. B: Memorize the entire Calender: Her online scheduling is bad C: Not have any issues, Her email response rate is poor. D: Have the patience to do this for an entire semester, while worrying about your grade. Just find a new teacher.
Totally awful semester, we had two exams back to back one last exam and the final not to mention that the final itself was 124 questions. Thats total burnout, dont recommend this professor at all save yourself from a headache.
Obviously those who don't want to do the work will give the worst reviews. Those who say she has an accent are plain ridiculous. She is very organized, gives wonderful lectures and has emailed back in a few minutes. So not sure what the complaints are about! Tough class, so do your WORK!!!!! She made an online class WORK! Great prof.
the most unorganized professor. she gets ahead of herself too often and you have to do a peer review which means to grade other peoples homework.. pointless. she also made us have a third exam and a final in the same week (which was a 124 questions.) some of the answers on the exams didn't even have the right answers sometimes. avoid her class.
The class was the most organized . All modules were clear, we peer reviewed but it was for a GRADE!! and she explained things over and over again. She also curved the finals and added points to all questions that were not covered in class. The finals was long but it was all multiple choice. Do not listen to whiners. DO your work and STUDY!!!!
be ready to teach yourself, her lectures werent helpful at all. Labs will make a dent in your wallet for all the things you need or you get an F. Must show proof of you doing labs and wearing all lab gear. Shes a nice teacher but online I dont think she thrives that well. Tests are abnormally hard despite homework being easy.
Shes very passionate about teaching and will go out of her way to help you better understand something. I hated chemistry and she rounded my grade up so i can get a C.
Dr Prasad makes chemistry fun. She encourages participation and does not make you feel stupid for not knowing something. She is one of the most respectful teachers who is caring and wants everyone to like chemistry. It is not an easy class and you have to work very hard but you can make a good grade if you attend class and ask questions.
I took her fully online class. It is very organized, she adds her live lectures which makes you hear the questions others have, and she is very encouraging, She replies to emails and is very accessible and willing to help. It was by far one of the best online classes I have ever taken with clear directions.
Very clear online class. Everything had due dates and she replies to emails almost immediately. She also encourages all the time and gives amazing lectures. Gerat online experience overall. Highly recommend this prof!
Dr. Prasad was one of my favorites! She has a great personality and is easy to talk to. I really enjoyed her weekly assignments and wish I could have her for more classes! She does move kind of quickly when lecturing, but she is reasonable and grades fairly.
One of the nicest teachers. Very approachable and very willing to work with you. Understands and listens to any concerns you may have. Her lectures are great but the class is hard. You have to work, read and attend class. Tests are multiple choice and pretty straight forward but there is a ton of stuff to know. She makes the class fun and engages.
Dr Prasad gives amazing lectures. She makes the remote class so much fun! There is a lot to memorize and a lot of work but she is always willing to help and explain things over. She meets in the evenings and weekends if you cannot make it to her office hours. Great teacher, cannot go wrong with her.
I took the flex online 1405. I was afraid when I first signed up but It was really one of the best online classes I have taken. Very clear, great lectures and always replies to every email. She gives good feedback and is very willing to help. You have to put in a lot of work, weekly labs and lots of assignments but it is a doable class.
I took the most amazing online course over the FLEX semester! 1405 was fast paced but this instructor is amazing. Dr Prasad's lectures are clear and very helpful and she is so encouraging and helpful. he class was most enjoyable and the labs were a blast. It is a LOT of work, be ready but totally doable and you can make a good grade.
Dr. Prasad was amazing, I took all online flex course which required a lot of time but its doable. She gave extra credit for the tests, test are not open book. Easy and fun labs. She really cared for her students and wanted everyone to succeed, she was very understanding as well. Do not take it as flex if you are not willing to put in the time.
Highly recommend this prof. Dr Prasad makes remote so much FUN. She explains very well and her lectures are amazing. She is tough but very fair and there is a LOT of work to do but you can do it if you put in the time. Very understanding and wants students to succeed. It is very doable class since it is super organized. She sets you up for success
I took Prof Prasad for an online 1305 course and it was the BEST online class I have ever taken. Everything was very clear on what we had to do and she responded to all my questions within hours. Her lecture videos are amazing and the class itself if easy for an online course if you do work everyday. Highly recommend this prof !
Prof Prasad is an amazing teacher. Very clear course and she makes it fun. Very accommodating and worked with me often on questions I had. She gives amazing lectures and actually made me fall in love with Chemistry! Absolutely recommend this teacher!
Just got done with a Flex ONLINE course and it was amazing ,if you want to take an ONLINE course take this teacher hands down. She has the best lectures, clear course and responds very quickly. I never thought I could get so much out of an online course! Prasad is the best.
One of the best online classes I have ever taken. Clear outline and everything was upfront. The lectures were clear and she responds very quickly. She also is very encouraging and flexible. Highly recommend this teacher.
No book-uses knewton learn an adaptive learning program for homework. Discussions are "attendance" for grade. Very responsive to messages and encouraging to students. Reopened a test when I misread syllabus. A very pleasant professor and really wants students to succeed. Extra credit available for tests. Definitely would take again.
I took 1307 chem with Dr Prasad and was one of the best courses I have taken,. Everything is clear from the beginning and the remote lectures were so fun and engaging., She really cares about her students and will go over and beyond to help. A very good teacher and wonderful experience. Highly recommend.
Took the remote 1307 course and I was very afraid at the beginning, but Dr Prasad is very good at explaining, patient with questions and makes the class engaging. There are videos to watch and the whole course is laid out so it is clear. Very good course, highly recommend!
Took the Maymester online and although it was relentless for three weeks it was totally worth it. Great class with very easy and clear outline. The course is fast paced but if you do the work you can complete the work. She is very accessible and works with the student. The best online class I have taken!
I took the 1405 flex course and while it wasn't easy, it was doable. There is a lot of work to do but it is manageable. Prof Prasad is very accessible and replied to emails. The course is well outlined and easy to follow. She will work with you if you need help. Great class. Highly recommend. Just be ready to work at it for 6 weeks.
This teacher really cares about her students, She wants you to succeed, very understanding, The course is not easy, I took the Flex and it is fast and tons of work! Be ready to work everyday but the teacher makes it easy to do well. The course is clear, lectures are amazing and she is very accessible, I took the remote course and it was great.
This class will always be a lot of information and a little difficult however she makes it easy to understand and cares a lot about her students! She is super fast at replying to emails and staying on top of things. Offers extra credit as well! Classes are not mandatory but labs are! I definitely recommend going to lecture!
She responds to emails in a timely manner and is a really nice professor. Her labs are a little difficult, and passing this class requires a significant commitment of time, money, and energy. Her lectures are very informative and sometimes last for hours. Overall Chemistry is a difficult subject no matter who teaches it.
If you want a teacher that really CARES about her job and about her students, take Prof. P. She is so down to earth and so kind. She answers emails almost immediately and cares a LOT. Very patient and explains things so well. She kept the class interesting even though it was remote. offered extra credit Highly recommend this teacher hands down.
this class was a hybrid class lots of information lots of notes. expects you to know the lesson before the class and laboratory before as well. she is kind of all over the place too, her modules are all over the place. good luck. you have a midterm, a test, a lab final and a final lockdown browser is required.
I took the flex course with Prof P and it was amazing. It was flex so the course went by in a flash and there is a lot of work !!! Be ready to work and spend time but if you do, she makes sure that you will succeed. The professor is very caring and very accommodating. It was the best online class I have ever taken!
It is overwhelming with lots of materials. We need more interaction with the professor for this online class. Need to be organized.
Do not recommend! Took flex 1. Heavy workload, lockdown browser and timed for all 3 exams with NO notes, expects you to memorize many topics at once. Extremely hard to pass tests. Her expectation for tests are 60% out of 100% so the average for our class test grades were 40%. Uses newton to teach and her lectures are fast, hard to read her writing.
AMAZING is an understatement. I would not have passed this FLEx online course had it not been for Dr P. She is so caring, so enaging and helped out so much. Chem is hard no matter what semester. Gotta do the work and put in the time. She gave extra credits and helped out a LOT. I also learned a lot from her class. Best online class EVER.
Took the 1305 flex course. Absolutely fantastic course. Learned so much from her engaging lectures! She is very good at explaining, uses real examples and makes it fun. Gave extra credit option and is very very helpful. I dont think I could have done well without her quick responses and constant encouragement. Great overall online course!
I took the HYBRID 1405. We had lecture and lab on Mondays, she did zoom on wednesdays. It helped that we only had to go to campus once a week. She records her lectures on the zoom so that was super convenient if i missed class I still could catch up. We did science festival on campus which was super fun!!! The labs were FUN! Highly recommend.
Took her online 1305 over summer. Great overall class. It is a lot of work and there is a LOT to study but she has great lectures. She is very quick in replying to emails and very helpful. She encourages a lot. Gave edxtra credit. Highly recommend!!!
I took the 1307 by remote. Great class. She gives very good lectures and is very patient. Goes over the concepts again if you have doubts. Lots of recorded lectures and attendance is not mandatory. She is very caring, very helpful and wants you to succeed! Highly recommend this teacher.
I took the fully online Maymester 1105 and it was a very doable class. She has lectures on the labs and the kitchen chemistry labs are a lot of fun to do. SO long as you do the work, it is a very easy course. It goes fast though so keeping up is key but overall very good class and prof is amazing! Highly recommend.
I took the fully online Flex course that goes fast and it was really great. Prof is very available and gives amazing lectures. She is very encouraging and the course is very clearly laid out. Lots of work and studying but a very doable course. Highly recommend this Online course with this Prof!!!
I took the Hybrid 1405 this Spring and it was amazing. This Prof really cares and teaches to everyone. She is patient and goes over topics over and over again till everyone understands. She is always available and ready to help. The class was fun and engaging and labs were super fun. The class requires a LOT of work but the prof makes it so fun!
I took the online 1305 over summer and it was really one of the best online classes I have ever taken, The lectures are amazing and the teacher is very responsive replying to every email almost immediately. She has all the assignments listed and the course is very well laid out, It was a LOT of work but totally doable, Highly recommend this Prof!
Unequal grading perimeters when taking online tests with lockdown browser. Very passive aggressive in messages and not very helpful when giving advice—automatically directs back to her PRErecorded lectures from 3 years ago than answering or assisting directly. Students are often correcting her answers & never seems 100% of what the right answer is.
Her class is the absolute worst. She is test heavy as the 2 tests throughout and final count for 55% of your total grade. Additionally, she has an enormous workload that totals the remaining 45%. Three quizzes a day at points and even 4 hard assignments to do at the same times as if you dont have any other classes. This is a lazy professor clearly.
WARNING DO NOT TAKE HER! For an intro to chem class she cannot determine how she wants you to learn. Either allow us to study for big tests or BOMB us with a monstrous amount of work. BOTH ARE BLATANTLY UNFAIR. Especially when you cant even update your course to match the current semesters dates. Embarrassing and teaching classes is her side job.
You will not be able to earn the A.
She requires a lot of hard work and extra steps
Those who want easy As and hope that college is a joke will complain. The course is very well set up, the teacher is the most engaging and responds to all emails with respect. She provides excellent lectures and the course is well set up. It is a lot of work - its college! The Flex course is not easy at all because it is over 8 weeks. Great class!
Prof Prasad was a ok teacher, but a teacher that was rushing every lecture and the lavs was fun, uses lockdown browser (smh) the lectures were borning. itll take a miracle to understand the "intro" part of the course or the course itself. face to face lab and lecture and online lecture.
Professor P is amazing - super caring and engaging. The class is tough but manageable with hard work. Lectures are great, and Unstuck AI helped me ace the fast-paced course. Highly recommend this class!
I took the 1405 Hybrid- which was a super fun class. She made it so engaging and the class vibe was excellent. We did a science project that was cool. She is very caring and very energetic with her lectures. Lot of work but you have to put in the time. Overall I LOVED this prof and never thought chem could be this fun. Highly recommend!
Took the 1405 in person and it was a blast. Dr. P is very energetic and she makes the class a lot of fun. The labs were a lot of fun and I learned so much in this class. It is a lot of work though but it is manageable. Dr P encourages questions and never makes anyone feel bad for being wrong. Highly recommend this class.
Not that good of a professor. Cant understand, handwriting is terrible so you cant really understand. Everything is already prerecorded, so if you ask for help you'll never get an answer. mid at best should honestly step down.
I took the fully online 1305 flex course and it was one of the best online courses. Her lectures are amazing and she is very responsive to emails. Have to study a LOT and it is a lot of work but she makes it easy with clear assignments and due dates. Super nice teacher.
I took the hybrid class with Dr P and it is really my favorite class. She made coming to class so fun and was actually super funny too, Class is very engaging and she makes sure there is great energy in the class. She teaches very well and makes sure we can ask any question, never makes you feel dumb. It was a great class, highly recommend her.
Extremely difficult & strict with tests (Lockdown browser) and labs. For the test, you are given a zero if you do not do the environmental check well enough(feet, the whole room, and the desk). For the labs, you are required to buy all items on the 3-page doc she provides. The worst professor I have had at Alamo Colleges. Do not recommend!!!!!!!!
Watch all lectures. 30+ @ 1hr or more each. They're prerecorded, so use AI as a practice partner if you don't understand. Don't cheat on hw, the class info builds so you have to understand everything. Get a scientific calculator, pencil, & extra eraser. Do not fall behind. Labs require several days so prepare ahead of time. Difficult but fair.
In high school and previous times I had attempted Chemistry, I could hardly follow. However, Professor Roopa made the class enjoyable and would always answer any questions. She clearly wanted all of her students to succeed. You did have to put a decent amount of study time, but a lot was practicing what you may have learned. Highly recommend!
Everyone giving her good reviews is lying. She can't do chemistry right, and teaches students wrong. I called her out for it and she said I was wrong. You can't split an atom but that's how she teaches it in balancing equations. Passive aggressive, instructions unclear, short feedback that provides no benefit. Run the other way!
I hated chemistry but Prof P made it so much fun. She is super energetic, gives great lectures and makes us engage in class. I took her hybrid and it was fun. She is very strict with testing conditions though. She explains super well and is very easy to talk to. Highly recommend this class if you are willing to do the work. It is a LOT.
The labs are fun to do. But the instructions are not clear at all. The lectures tell you one thing and the instructions tell you something else. She takes points off for stupid things. Also be sure that she can see you face in the pictures when taking this lab online
Took the online course this summer and I learned a lot in this class. Lectures are the best part and she is very available via email. If you study, do all the work in this class and put in the time, it is possible to do well. It is hard to use AI in this class because she asks for work to be shown on all tests. Highly recommend.
I learned a lot from this class. She is very lecture heavy. She requires that you summarize all her video lectures, which are about 80 minutes long. She is a picky grader, good video lecture. Did I learn a lot ? Yes Is it possible to get an A? Yes, but you have to work very hard for it and pay attention to her tricky questions

Overall good professor she teaches well BUT participation matters she calls on people but it helps you be engaged and understand well. SO many assignments I think we had 100 for the semester. Her class is reasonable if you pay attention in class and ask questions. Nice and easygoing. Need to show up to labs she counts attendance as a grade.
Took as online Flex, might've been a mistake bc the online material was catered for a full 16 week course. Exams are proctored, picky grades on discussion boards, but multiple attempts on homework and extra credit at the end. She was always responsive and cared about students doing well. Would take again, just not in Flex.
Attendance is a portion of your grade. Responsible for purchasing protective gear. Mid-term is first. Rarely allows make-up labs they are 15% of your grade. Late work with a 3pt deduction per day. No extra credit! Exams are in person! Reference sheet you can print, or in the test. You need a scientific calculator. No notes, and its Lockdown Browser
