There were not very many individual assignments, there were almost all large group projects. The concept of the class is engaging. Asking questions, working efficiently in class, and having a good group can limit the amount of work done outside of class.

Super frustrating professor. The class was pretty easy, aside from the constitution. The lectures had so much reading and were also really boring. I'd recommend taking it for the credit unless you are trans as she will just misgender you in an awkward and painful way.

God-awful professor, if you're not willing to devote your life to the projects then you're not going to do well. She gives zero leniency and is incredibly vague on what she wants, then scores you very low when you can't interpret what she wants. She doesn't care about any extenuating circumstances.

Took this course online and thought it would be a simple course. Was proven wrong. First half of the term we had four discussion posts a week to reply to. No clear instruction on assignments on how we turn it in as a group, who was assigned to our groups wasn't quite clear, and is somewhat a tough grader so when it comes to group work.

Took 2 classes with her: you have to do the readings and participate in class regularly- but you still might not get an A. Its often unclear why students get the grades they get, she is not accommodating, and her class is A LOT of work. If you're interested in Con law then you'll learn a lot from her- I like her class but its not for everyone.

Super fun and engaging class! No tests at all, though a large chunk of your grade was based on randomly assigned group projects, so do be aware of that! I learned a ton while having a super fun time doing it. Really really fun class.

This teacher is patronizing, sometimes rude, and also very frank/honest. I found myself disagreeing with everything she said and the content she taught. However, she is also very open minded to hearing your perspectives. On top of that, she is incredibly good at teaching, with a great ability to structure content. Content is easy, too.

Overly high expectations and extremely hard grader. Made my experience in this class so unnecessarily stress inducing and horrible. Claimed I had used AI software for a midterm and gave me a 0 when I absolutely had not. Also has NO sick days allowed. Interesting lessons that would have been greatly appreciated if the professor had more compassion.

All of the work was group projects, that were graded incredibly harshly, despite not having clear guidelines. I recieved an 89.9% and she wouldn't round it. I was extremely sick and she would not let me make up any participation points. I emailed her multiple times throughout the term and she never got back to me once. Don't take this class!!

The Zombie Apocalypse part of this class was really fun, I felt like my group was very engaged in the work we were doing and understood what was going on. Solberg did have issues with explaining a large drop in points of assignments and calling on students in class when they raised their hands, the way she would respond to q's made you feel stupid.

ALL of the information is covered in class, if you have a question about a court case good luck getting help. The midterms are absolute torture and very minimal time was given. The final project, moot court, will make you think being the leader of the mafia is easier. No rubric was given for most assignments and no explanations for points lost.

She is very understanding of minorities and has solid lectures. She does use tophat though so sorry :(. There is a huge group project, as long as you and your groupmates are doing the work and meeting up you should be fine. DO YOUR READINGS!

She is a great professor and clearly knows her stuff but is a VERY tough grader. I learned a lot and really enjoyed her lecture/cold call format but would not take her for lower division classes or if you're not a PS major. The class is structured on court cases so there is lots of reading. Very high standards but does not give much feedback.

Solberg is amazing. She knows what she's doing and grades like it. If you want to actually learn, she will be great for you because her lectures are entertaining and the course is valuable. If you want an easy A, she is not the professor to take. The exams are challenging and her grading is a bit vague but you will become a better writer with her.

Forget that it's a "zombie apocalypse" class cause it isn't. It is a pure PS class, with most of the points coming from group projects. If you get a rough group....good luck. She responds to emails fairly well but personally not much came out of it. She can be condescending and talking to her is difficult. Overall not the worst but far from good.

From the standpoint of a BACC core class, she grades too hard. I don't care that "this is college", this is my third year and many of this assignments are easy on paper but not easy on grading. Attendance is mandatory, no makeups because "sorry this is college". Like I get it I'm not very nice either but this is a poli-sci course, not physics.

People were upset the governing after the zombie apocalypse class had more governing than zombies, but it was still fun and eye-opening. Come into lectures open-minded and willing to participate. She assigns group projects but allows you to rate your group members and handles the situation if someone is not pulling their weight. A lot of fun.

Solberg is very knowledgeable about Constitutional Law, and I learned a lot. However, her grading style makes it impossible to get an A. No person will get above a 95 for any written assignment, and the rubric for grading is incredibly vague. I recommend this class if you want to learn but don't care about your final grade. If not, steer clear.

Rorie has a unique teaching style, but if you engage with it, the class works well. The group projects can be tough, but using resources like Unstuck ai alongside the textbook can really help. Overall, it's a decent class if you put in the work.

The professor herself was decent, but her TA's were annoying and graded things somewhat harshly. Your grade can also be affected by your peers because they get to grade how you do in your group work. Overall, a terrible class and waste of time. Should not be called a political science class.

Professor Solberg seems like she's gonna be fun and have you in an easy Bacc Core class, until you discover that she's an incredibly harsh grader. All of the important assignments are group projects, and she does not include a detailed rubric with any major assignments, even though her requirements are very specific and she'll grade you harshly.
