Great
I loed this class!! Very warm woman!!! She has alot to teach! A liberal at heart, so Republicans watch out! She will help you with anythign you need help with. Do the readings also they are worth it!
close minded
she sucks, dont take her, very close minded, cant teach for here life
She does request a lot of reading and papers. But as long as she sees that you are trying and interested she will work with you. Not bad
She's very stuck on her own views, sometimes doesnt even let you finish a thought before she "corrects" you, shes asks questions, but you never know exactly where shes goin with it, very nice lady, but shes not a professor i would recommend
She doesn't care about others opinions... if you disagree with her then your wrong....doesnt explain assignments clearly :*(
Views all opinions other than hers as wrong. Horrible at explaining things, thinks you should just KNOW things. Unorganized, "wings it" and expects you to jump right on it. Feels as if she has nothing to do with everyone's lack of understanding. Droons on and on about her own interpertations because they are "what is right" HORRIBLE TEACHER
She's absolutely a great professor. Witty, knowledgeable and caring. If you do your work and pay attention, she'll go out of her way to help you. But if you come to class, put your feet on the chair, as if you were in your living room, make stupid comments, keep on giggling all night long, she has no patience for you. But then again, who would.
I dislike her. She wants you to write her papers the way she thinks. She's horrible. Very tough.. and your opinions don't count =(
Horrible at explaining things. Leaves you hanging out to dry when she wants you te explain something. pretty bad.

she is a fantastic professor, as long as you do your readings and participate in class you will do well, i am an accounting major and i would take another one of her classes
she is sooo boring but extremely easy i practically slept throughtout the entire semester didnt read any of the 100 books she assigned and still managed to get a A plus i am a geology major. bring a pillow to this class and your good!
She's an okay teacher. her assignments aren't that hard. she's not strict about deadlines. you can hand in a paper at anytime you want BUT, YOUR OPINIONS DON'T COUNT!!! so don't even bother giving your own opinions in her class!!! also, she loves to offend other people's religion which made me to hate her. i just don't like her personally.
She is an excellent grader; however, you need to do what she says, otherwise, It's over. Unfortunately attendance counts and it's 3 strikes and your out! She's a satirical lady who loves to rant. If that's your kind of teacher, then GO for it!
She is a terrible teacher. She expects you to read AND remember all the books she assigned. She NEVER gives a definite grade. Better show up to class or be prepared for a chat with her after class. She also assigned a final paper to be due on the final exam date. Can't really study because you are too busy writing a 8pg paper.
writing assignments, midterm and final (short essays), presentations, and pop quizzes...ENOUGH SAID!
too much work for a 200 lvl course. Try to avoid this class
She is not a bad teacher, she just talks to musch about her own views and you will not win a arguement with her. Also, I did not like the fact that she is constantly using religion in her examples and it's always negative. If she would just stick to the subject matter, the class would not be so bad.
This professor is one of the worst if not the worst preofessors at queens college. to start she gives you like 5 papers to write 4 books to read and attendance is mandatory. she seems nice at first but dont let her fool you. The work is not a problem but what really got to me is the lack of respect this teacher has for her students she doesnt care
Not terrible but not great either. I felt like teaching our class was the last thing on her list of things to do. She just never seemed to care. I e-mailed her a couple of times about essays and other things and never got a response. Other than that the class wasn't that hard, just make sure to read the books. I got an A-
the worst professor in the history of queens college
I don't understand why everyone else is giving her such a bad rep. Prof. Amatulli is a great teacher. She's extremely knowledgeable about western literature and is for the most part easy to talk to. Read the books, participate in class, write a couple of papers and you'll get the grade you deserve.
She is a tough Italian woman. If you take her for Spanish Lit.041 in the summer, be ready to do all the readings and homework. There is no way around it. She gives too much work. In five weeks we had a quizz,2 long papers to write and a written final exam. I got an A-, but I worked hard for it.
This professor is the worst professor to walk the face of the planet. Avoid her like the bubonic plague. She gives an inane amount of work and thinks she is a Harvard professor. Oral Presentation + 3 papers + 5 books + Mandatory attendane = Don't even think about taking this class unless you life depends on it. EVER.
This is a very interesting Professor. For the first time I learned how to read a text. It is true she expects a lot out of her students: but if she didn't I would not push myself to study more. I am grateful for her knowledge and for her caring. I highly recommend her.
Prof. Amatulli is one of the best professors I have ever had: she is demanding, but she is very fair. She forces us to think for ourselves, and to be very critical. It is true she has no patience for those who come to class to waste their time or speak on their cells, but you do your work, you participate, and she'll give you an A.
Ms. Amatulli is a very dedicated Prof. She is very helpful, always available, and she always invites her students to offer a different view of the texts. She is demanding, but she is also very understanding. If you are serious about your work, she'll give you a good grade. I strongly recommend her.
She is one of the best professors I've ever had: professional, knowledgeable, interesting, and humorous. You do your work, pay attention, and you'll be fine. She is on top of things.
Tough Professor, very demanding, but such a rewarding class, loved the required books, she may not appear to, but she notices if your busting you ass in her class, and by the last class if anything, she recognizes your hard work, if your not serious, don't read, and can't cite sources stay away..
It's pretty hard to understand what she is talking about because of her heavy accent and she force U to talk about the view and the story of the books during her class if not she will lower your grade. BTW, her class is super boring and without any interesting.....
I really don't know wat's going on in da class. Her talking so difficult and hard to understand wiv her accent.
The books she chose for this class were amazing, and her lessons just as great.
She need you to read 4 books (summer class) and write 3 papers. 2 in 5 pages and 1 in 7 pages. Actually she ask U a lot questions and I think she is teaching nothing and she is a lazy professor coz she didn't give U back the paper on time and I think she didn't review da whole paper for U. And I don't think she treats her student politely.
The most arrogant and self-centered professor by far. She is highly demanding, thinks she knows everything (even though she forgot what happened in some of the stories & we had to tell her), teaching method is terrible, expects participation when she has such an attitude, and strayed completely from her syllabus. AVOID HER
This lady is a joke, nice lady but she has no idea what she's talking about. Sure she will let students offer differing views. But on a test if you don't see something the way she does. You're wrong. She'll give everybody a nice grade regardless of whether you complete all the assignments or not. Easy A, waste of time
A very insightful professor: sweet, caring human being. Very humorous and serious at the same time. I have already taken three of her classes, and highly recommend her.
Com Lit 212 is a course on Renaissance Literature. This was such an interesting course: I absolutely loved the books Prof. Amatulli chose and, I absolutely love Prof. Amatulli's teaching style. She's very patient, and very encouraging, and her analyses of the texts are very enlightening. In this course I learned a lot about the Renaissance.
Prof. Amatulli is a great professor, very knowledgeable and very enthusiastic about the books she taught. I learned a great deal in this course, especially how to read with great care. If you don't like to read or to think, then literature is not for you. She is a great human being: this is my third class with her. I highly recommend her.
Com Lit 101W is a great course and prof. amatulli is just wonderful. This is the second time I take her class. She is very kind and very sweet, and always patiently helpful. She is also great because she makes learning fun; she craks jokes and makes you laugh. I would take her again and again.
shes a pretty nice lady but shes a bit of a hard grader. But because of her i got better at writing papers. Shes very helpful if you need it, but you need to be prepared everyday in her class. I wouldn't take her again personally, but if literature is your thing than take her.
This is a literature class so there is A LOT of reading, you will be asked your opinion of the required reading. If you are absent more than twice you will be talked to after class. The class works best if the students come ready to exchange ideas. If you are a good writer, the two papers will be easy enough. If not, brush up on your writing skills.
She was pretty good. You need to read the books and then the tests will be a piece of cake. If she thinks no one read she will call on random people to answer her questions so know the answer otherwise she will yell at you. It was a good class though, i would take her again
Professor knows the subject material very well, however is very opinionated. Three papers of average length, lots of reading. Do the reading or she makes you do write a reaction to the reading. Class is discussion style, with her talking and allowing interjecting conversation during the discussion.
she is ridiculous. expects too much. her class if boring and i sit at the window waiting for the sun to go down because i know it is over. her midterm was pointless and nothing like she said on the syllabus go accomplished int he way she said it would. she's horrible. don't take her.
HARD - she's needlessly hard, a class that is supposed to be easy going is one of my hardest classes... no point. She over analyses every sentence in your paper and is super analytical of your comments regarding the books.
Professor A, is extremely analytical of everything that involves her class. The same grade is not given for the same mistakes. 3 papers, the first 2 are 5 pages the last is 7. This is a 1 level course and compared to my other 3 level courses this course stresses me out the most.
Get ready for hell... Worst lot prof I've ever had... U need more effort in her class than any lit class I ever had.
Very good professor; very well prepared and very fair. if you study and participate you'll get a good grade; if you waste your time texting while she's teaching you'll get a low grade. This is the second class I've taken with her and I'm very happy with her classes.
excellent course, excellent prof: patient, helpful avd very understanding.
Prof Amatulli's class on Literature of the Renaissance was very interesting; the books were very interesting and enlightening. Prof. Amatulli is a wonderful professor, very knowlegeable and full of insights. She's also very caring, fun and humorous in class. I look forward to taking another class with prof amatulli.
Professor Amatulli is the reason I fell in love with comparative literature. She LOVES teaching and manages to make the material fun. I would take her class over again if I had the time. I would recommend her class. She expects a lot of effort put into her essays, exams are fair and if you go to class and participate you will do well.
A very frustrating professor. On one hand, she is a very educated woman who takes a big interest in the material and gets you motivated to learn something from the class. On the other hand, she is a very opinionated, arrogant, and rather rude woman who will not care for your opinion. So, it's up to you whether you can deal with arrogant professors.
Excellent professor; I learned a lot about literature and about writing. She reads papers very carefully and offers lots of helpful feedback. I will take another class with her. I highly recommend her to any one who really wants to learn, to write and to think.
I came to like R. Amatulli act towards the end of the semester bc I then noticed how kind she actually is. He class was a lot of work; read about 5 books (which were interesting actually), had to give a short presentation (which wasn't so bad), she forces you to participate, and a total of 3 essays were required. She is a very generous grader thoug
Get ready for hell on Earth. Seriously, take someone else. Amatulli is opinionated and vague. She forces you to participate, asking for your opinion, and then shuts you down with her own ideas. The summer class contains the same amount of work as a regular semester.
i took 5 classes for this fall semester and i would have to say that this was my favorite class out of all of them. in fact i think i would give this class the top 10 classes in my college career and im a senior. the only thing is that she doesnt hand out A's and she sounds like shes straight out from italy so she has an accent.
Professor is terrible, Pretty much wants you to teach yourself Italian from the Textbook at home. Forces you to voice your opinion than explains in detail how your wrong. Don't even think about missing a class or taking out your Cell phone(even to check the time) you will get reamed out. Take another professor at All Costs!!
I've gotten A's in every other english class I've ever taken. I'm making an A in a higher level CMLIT course that I'm taking simultaneously. She gives you a B unless you tell her EXACTLY what she wants to hear. There are no room for opinions other than hers in this class. Also, we have a final exam AND a long essay due on the same day. Be warned.
There is no room for creative expression in this class. She will only give you an 'A' if your opinions match with her opinions. She is very repetitive with her examples in class, no room for original ideas. Continuously condescending her students; indirectly or directly. She is a technophobe. Mandatory to carry texts to every class. Avoid her!
don't take her ever. she is a hard grader and forces her ideas on the students. text book is mandatory for every class
hard grader, forcing her ideas , not at all flexible
I can read italian, but I can't tell what I'm reading. That's pretty much what I've learned from this class. To prepare questions in the chapter before class so that way while in class I can to read it. Yep, and that's all we did. No learning involved. Just reading out loud in italian. This class should be called, how to pronounce words in Italian.
Must buy textbook and workbook. She is rude, condescending and is impatient. She does not answer any questions and expects you to teach yourself. Only allows one absence and deducts points from grade for any latenesses or if you must leave early. This class was an absolute nightmare. If you can avoid her- then do it.
I have taken two com lit classes with prof amatulli and received As in all my papers and exams; she is an excellent professor and human being. It is a pity she has to deal with students who don't care to learn or to pay attention. It is frustrating to be in a classroom where the majority of students waste time; college is not for them.
I have taken com lit 101 and 102 with this professor. She's an amazing professor; she listens to students and truly cares about them. She gives excellent feedback, I've never received so much feedback on my papers. I strongly recommend her. Looking forward to taking another class with her.
Almost perfect class, not because of the professor but because of students who do not care to read or to participate to class discussions. Otherwise, an Excellent class. Excellent professor. She actually makes time to see students and go over any reading material you don't understand. I will take her other classes.
I WAS a student in Prof Amatulli Com Lit 101W class: I had no idea I would learn so much about storytelling, politics and social injustice. Very interesting stuff that truly opened my eyes. She is a great human being, caring and interested in helping students. She wants students to express their views on the topics of discussion. Amazing prof.
expects students to do the required readings, 3 papers, a final and a mini project, its not difficult, you just have to try, take her and this class if you just need to knock out a writing intensive
Class was graded by 2 exams and 2 7-page papers. Participation is deadly important. She constantly complains and yells at the class for not discussing the readings enough in class. Oh and the reading... It is INTENSE. You really have to read very analytically for any chance to say something that wont get immediately and aggressively shot down.
Do your readings and participate in class and you'll get an easy A. I was absent more than 2 times, got a B+ for my first exam and paper, not sure about the final and second paper but I received an A-. The readings are fair and the discussions in class help formulate a lot of ideas for the papers and exams.
Excellent professor; very well prepared, understanding, humorous, and gives you lots of feed back on your papers. Only thing, she expects you to read, and to buy your books. I recommend her to anyone.
You either have the same point of view as her or you're not getting an A. It's absurd that the majority of the paper topics ask for your opinion, yet if she doesn't agree with it she will penalize your grade! On top of that, she is very rude, even in office hours. I ace org and get a B+ with her on this dumb elective. Some people shouldn't teach.
Very boring. Unorganized. Rude. Wastes your time by extending class longer which is unnecessary and cause problems for students with thingns to do after class. One sided mind, only listens and agrees to opinions that matches her own. Just. Dont. Take. Her. I dont know how some individuals become professors...
She isnt the best professor out there, and when it comes to class participation she cuts off students in the middle of explaining the book. I wouldnt recommend this professor to other students.
She is so rude and unclear when it comes to assignments, not understanding AT ALL! Avoid taking her!!
Lousy teaching, rude to students, very unorganized. DO NOT TAKE HER.
She is so rude and just very one-sided. She was very rude to me when I had to turn in an assignment that was late because of legitimate reasons, and she was unwilling to compromise when turned in. I was left shocked, how could a teacher disrespect another person? Avoid her at all costs. Her essays are really hard and the books are impossible.
She's one of the best professors I've ever had. I've taken three of he Com Lit classes and she's always been very gracious and helpful. This past semester, all the students in class took her other two classes. She's very patient, very understanding, and gives back very detailed comments on how to improve your writing.
Well well well. Honestly not that bad. She really wants you to read for guided discussions. And if everybody is engaging she ends up talking the whole time anyway. The things she says can be transfered right into your essay so take some notes 3 essays and 1 shorts little assignment. Wants everyone to be english major lol. Not as bad as you think
Be ready to read and analyze a lot of lectures, she would ask random questions in the class. She threats us to read the chapter before going to the class, otherwise, be ready to have a pop quiz. Remember to follow her words and ideas in your essay.
I understand this is a writing intensive class but she is simply a different level. Also the themes she brings up are fine however her choice in reading for the theme are in no way related. She requires constant participation and continuous attendance. Also if you have no clue of the texts in the bible, the readings just get more complicated.
Professor Amatulli is a tough professor but her class is very interesting. She teaches you how to deeply analyze stories and the art of storytelling. She is picky about her papers but she grades fairly. I learned a lot from her class and enjoyed her class. A fun, entertaining, and intelligent professor.
The class was fully online, and I thought this may be my chance to do well on a literature course. Alas! I was left disappointed. She clearly mentioned in the syllabus that we are allowed to drop a discussion board exercise. However, in the end, she started asking why I did not do one of the assignments. My grade dropped significantly as a result.
Doing this review before spring semester starts so you guys don't get stuck taking her like I did. She is extremely rude, very hard to participate when she always brings you down. Her answer is the only right one. Have to buy your own books. She knows what she's talking about but doesn't know how to teach. Ended class late many times. DONT TAKE!
Never answers emails. Can not accept the fact we are humans and do not know some stuff, meaning she expects us to know everything. She is trying to make it seem like she cares and wants you to do your best, but the way she goes about it is all wrong, not very understanding and makes assumptions.
The readings are interesting but, interpretations of the text that don't align with her views aren't welcomed. She's rude (especially when she's in a bad mood), very unorganized, and doesn't follow the syllabus. She always ends class late and it's hard to reach her outside of class too except for when her office hours are open. Avoid taking her.
Got scammed by other comments about her being an 'excellent' professor. She has a poor attitude and gross negligence towards her student's well being. She will come at you hard as a toenail, do not take her. She is also very unorganized, doesn't follow the syllabus.
She is disorganized. Technically challenged. Rude to students. She is often complaining - either about covid, or politics. Wastes time because of that and hence isn't able to deliver on deadlines - her own deadlines. She doesn't give any focus to student learning and put materials on bb and never talks about them because she isnt equipped.
She keeps TELLING STUDENTS to join COM LIT and doesn't accept her own flaws, her own shortcomings. This class is a total waste of time and money. She teaches philosophy (NOT ENGLISH) but doesn't follow it herself. On top of this, she is RUDE. Mostly available in-office hours. Doesn't respond to emails too. She is also technically challenged
This professor is just straight up terrible. She isn't accommodating to her students, on top of that, she is rude. Avoid taking her.
This professor does not let other students have their own opinions about the text, she has to force her opinions onto you and does not give us discussion time. Half of the class is her complaining at students and droning about her ideas on the text. Even though this is a GLOBAL literature class 2/3 of the books are written by White men.
Not understanding at all. If you don't agree with her point of view she will give you a bad grade. I don't understand why she still teaches she said only 2 to 3 students understood what I was trying to convey on the paper meanwhile there are 30 students in the class thats on her. Poor clarity, awful online support, terrible professor. Do Not Take
This professor was terrible for online classes! She forced us to have our cameras on and counted attendance towards grade. if you weren't in class you needed a doctors note. She wasted lecture time yelling at us. assigned reading homework but would make us read the same chapters in class . you could not have your own opinion of the text.
Prof. Amatulli seems tough, but she's low-key HILARIOUS and caring. If you read and highlight every detail of your homework she will love you. It does not matter how well you do on your papers (weird grader), but YOU MUST PARTICIPATE. She is truly passionate about comp lit and teaches you to love it too. Get her off-topic for a good laugh! TAKE HER
Very helpful in terms of helping with writing but prepare for harsh criticism. Get ready to read a lot before each class. If she learns your name you will get called on every class. Content during class is interesting, she's clearly passionate about what she does but will shut down/cut off any opinion or answer besides the one she's looking for.
Stay on top of the readings and participate a lot... otherwise you will dread class with Amatulli, since she will not hesitate to cold call. Truly is a kind person deep down (and very passionate) but comes off ignorant and judgmental with her comments towards students. Beware: She will try to convince you to double major with CMLIT constantly.
Just do not take her.
This professor would try to recruit you for perusing ComLit as a major but if you say "no" she doesn't take it. It's almost as if she is pressurizing you to take her class again. Her class is a nightmare(3papers)&for her finals its 5 responds with 25 line per answers&oh even better she want you to not look at the book when writing these responses.
confuses you by explaining something simple and making it seem as if it needs to be researched. Take her if you love being stressed and confused.
("Writing intensive" -W- course) 3 papers + close reading & discussion (which each take the same amount of time as a paper) Prof Amatulli is rigid in opinion/class lectures, but lenient with extensions. She gets overly hated on, but she isn't so bad. Participation in class is important--do the readings! If you apply yourself you can succeed.
A very harsh and complicated grader especially for essays. She does not hesitate to cold call on students during class and shame them for littlest of the mistakes. Its her way or ELSE. Online discussion post as final for which she expected an impractical and absurd amount of work within a very short deadline. Save yourself, not worth the headache.
Makes no sense on how she wants her papers written. She will tell you to write a 8 pg analytical essay with barley mentioning anything about the book your reading. She also says shes always available if you need help and I emailed her at least 3 times about one topic and she finally answered by telling me to look it up Terrible professor.
Only 1 discussion board and 3 essays. Don't really need to pay attention during class, because you can just go home and read specific book chapters to write your essays on. Her grading is fair, use her feedback. She gets off topic a lot and says funny things. Likes when you participate.
Professor Amatulli was extremely intimidating. She loves when you participate. She often gets off topic; most people find it amusing. Also she wanted extremely specific answers to her questions. She rarely allowed for other interpretations of the text. As for grading, she had extremely specific requirements for papers. Touch grader.
She drove me absolutely insane but I miss having her as a professor very much. Be ready to do lots of reading (it IS a literature class), and get ready for her nonsense complaints about your writing. But ultimately she is actually very understanding and caring, plus she is hilarious! Be patient with her and with yourself and you'll do great.
Got terrible grades on a close reading because she didnt like the quote I chose and didnt agree with interpretation. Claimed I interpreted the author incorrectly? Complained I didnt use quotes to support my claim, then took off points when I used a quote because I was only supposed to analyze one
The CMLIT department at Queens College has so many duds, including Amatulli. She told my class that we could make any argument as long as we could back it up. But her grading does not reflect that. She took off points for having the "wrong" stance on a text and would behave rudely toward students during office hours. Avoid her if you can.
She seems tough but is lowkey kind of funny if you glaze enough. Not as him as miceli, but very manageable. Participate in discussion if you want her to like you. She cares about you if you (appear to) care about her. Glaze is key.
Too old for this job and she grades hella harsh DO NOT TAKE
I would advise against taking this class if you're concerned about a heavy workload. The professor assigns a lot of homework, and there is a 20-page essay required. If you're considering enrolling, just be prepared for a significant time commitment.
She's a tough grader but very kind (and quite funny!). I was scared when I first saw the other reviews, but I've come to love her.
can be a little funny from time to time mostly during unusual tangents. will redirect you to tons of media she doesn't have the time to teach but rarely feels useful. highly demanding page requirements, picks apart at every tiny grammatical fallacy. 4 papers (combined 20 pages) + some extra credit + maybe a final
Prof. Amatulli is tough but hilarious. Participate actively, do the readings, and you'll do well. unstuck AI was a lifesaver for prep - use it alongside the textbook!
mean. mean. dont trust the good reviews, idk those people were not in their right minds. stay away, save the gpa. honestly worst professor ever in the whole world. Made me go through war. horrible, should be fired.
Professor is really just there to help you improve your writing skills. Grade is made up of a close reading and 3 papers. Papers length range from 5-8 pages each. Pretty fair grader and you will do great as long as you pay attention, participate and include class notes into your essay!
Her lectures are enjoyable if you're interested in literature or morality, and she often has funny or interesting anecdotes about her life. Participate often and hand in work on time. She's not a harsh grader, but she expects you to defend her interpretation. If you reference something from a previous paragraph, she won't make the connection.
Tough grader, you have to defend her point and what she thinks. Pay attention to the readings and participate.
This professor does not care about you family issues. If you don't know one thing about the lesson she says you are not paying attention and will mark you absent for not understanding something. Would NOT recommend. Only took her for a extra elective class.
She shows blatant favoritism to certain students while being dismissive of other students input in seminar. She is a very unfair grader. She doesn't fully read your essay she grades based on what she thinks of the student and her first impression of the essay. I wrote an eloquent essay for a prompt with good analysis of literary devices and got a D
If you love debate or philosophy in any way this class is for you, She is a tough grader, her feedback isn't helpful (eg: "??" "why did you put this here?") it's not specific and very hard to understand what she wants from papers. She expects you to read everything which is understandable. Her expectations are very strict.
She acts like she works at Harvard and grades you accordingly. For her assignments, she gives you a long list of instructions and expects you to follow EVERY single damn thing. Minor errors in your work will result in your grade getting dropped by a whole LETTER. If you care about your GPA avoid her at all costs.
Taking this my first sem as college student made me rethink attending. Not even lying. Please whatever u do DONT take her. I've never felt more defeated ever. She grades harshly + finds ways to prove you “wrong” Im rereading her feedback and genuinely Im still angry to this day seeing that B in degreeworks when ik i deserved at least an A-
Honestly I have no words for this professor. She was entertaining however she is VERY strict. Her grading makes no sense. She hands back grades a month after due date. You are expected to read everything however doesn't even follow her own syllabus so no idea what we were supposed to read.
If this class wasn't mandatory for me, I would NOT have taken her. if you take her, you can't write the way you want to want, it has to be the way she wants it. She threatened my class for a final 5 times bc we “didn't read” even though we answered her question, it wasn't what she wanted. Avoid if u want a good semester. The shackles are unleashed
This professor is a tough grader and pretty old styled. She could yell and all of she's mad. Participation matters the most and she will like it if you just agree to her. She expects too much from freshman's however. If you like participating humor and reading, you could take her. She is the best when she goes off topic.
She is a funny woman but I would never take her again. The only reason why I took her was because I had to for scholars. But if you have the choice AVOID! Super strict on essays and gave me a B multiple times. She is tolerable but will call your class out if you don't answer her VERY SPECIFIC questions about the book.
