Very sweet and does everything to give students the highest possible grade. She gives back the respect she gets and more than the students in my class deserved. DO YOUR HW! No quizzes, drops lowest lab and exam. Study your notes/hw and you'll ace it!
Rosa is the nicest and most amazing teacher I have ever had! She is really dedicated to her job and always willing to help a student learn. She is AMAZING!
Rosa is super nice and really helpful. She doesn't make you feel dumb for asking a question. Her lectures are really straight forward and she is very clear on what she expects from you. Great class!
I took 30 B last quarter, she is am amazing teacher. she simplifies the subject, i would highly recommend her. Its and easy A .
She is a great teacher. She really knows her stuff and is great and relaying the information to you. Definitely take this class from her!
don't know what others are talking about, she doesn't really explain things very well, teaches the subjects as if you know them already
She is a really great teacher. If you need help you should just ask her because she is very willing to help. You can tell that she cares a lot!
The class is well organized and she teaches the material well.
She is a very fair teacher. Her tests are actually really easy and takes a lot of the questions directly off of practice test. The final had a lot of questions that were identical to midterms, so you get the chance to show you learned. Rosa is very nice and willing to help, don't be afraid to ask her questions.
She's a good and helpful teacher. 4 midterms w/final, Mastering Chem HW and labs. No lab tests. Chances for bonus points You can do w/o the textbook. When you purchase Mastering Chemistry for online HW it comes with an etext when you log in but MC acct expires within a few months. Fair amt of studying but not hard as A&P. Picks up after 1st test.
WOW I did not think there were good chemistry teachers but rosa is certainly one of them. She gives a ton of extra credit and gives mock sample exams that are very similar to her exams. She actually makes it possible to get good grades. TAKE TAKE TAKE THIS TEACHER too bad she is not teaching Chem 30B as well.
She is very clear on what will be on the tests. She gives mock tests and goes over answers on those as well as the mastering chem hw. she is very nice and friendly. her lectures aren't really mandatory but she does give bonus points to those who attend. overall really nice and helpful i'd definitely recommend her!
I was terrified of Chem before taking her Chem30A class and ended up with an A+. I learned alot & actually enjoyed it. She explains things clearly, very easygoing & friendly.Barely used the textbook at all. She gave out study guides before exams that were super helpful. Also she gave me a wireless charger for my cell since we had the same phone LOL
I don't know what others talking about, and why she had a good rate on this. She is very easy teacher, however, the way she explained things not clear at all, and also the way she act is like a kid. specially with class in the morning, if u asked too many question she doesnt like it. if you dont like Chem, she makes it worse.
Professor Nguyen is a wonderful instructor. She explains things clearly and provides multiple resources for students to be successful. Chemistry is not an easy subject, but she makes the material very approachable and more easily understood. She is also very fair in that on all exams, they are problems similar to those in the homework and lecture.
The people that gave Rosa a bad rating obviously couldn't comprehend the material. She explains things in a simple manner and takes the time to ensure you understand. She gives practice tests and dedicates an entire lecture to review for exams. I don't know how you CANT get a good grade. TAKE HER IF YOU CAN.
Rosa is simply the greatest! She's young, smart, beautiful, and really friendly. Although her tests were hard, I aced this class because I put in hard effort. You earn what you put in time for! Take her forsure.
She is a very kind and helpful teacher! She is quite a pretty teacher. Highly recommended teacher for chem 25
Nice teacher. Explains labs well. Doesn't mind if you don't go to class, but her lectures do help a lot. Gives out practice exams and goes over them. Also goes over a lot of the mastering chem questions in class. If you're a quick learner, this class will be a breeze.
Before I took this class, I had no experience with Chemistry. Instructor Nguyen is very good at explaining a difficult subject in a way that I could understand it. She really goes out of her way to help you out both in the class and during labs.I would definitely recommend her to any student who's new to Chemistry.
I highly recommend for all of students who are reading this to take another instructor. She will make you feel really stupid front of the class. Also, her expectation of students are really high when CHEM 25, the class itself is for student who is new to the Chemistry. I highly recommend to look for another instructor.
She really can't explain. I've took AP chem in high school and she really can't explain the chemistry. It is really hard to believe that she get confuse while she explains and she always isn't sure while she explains too. It is easy since she do give out review day before exam and review is most likely SAME to actual exam.
Wonderful teacher. I got an A+ in her class. Before taking the course, I was not interested in taking Chem because I was bad at memorizing things. After taking Rosa's class, I felt wonderful and switched my major to Chemistry! Thanks, Rosa.
super easy A
Thanks very much Rosa! I love this teacher. She gives out a review before the exam, making sure the students who put the time to actually understand the concept get high grades. TAKE HER! Once again, thanks!
I LOVE ROSA! She is seriously so down to earth and easy to talk to, which makes the asking of questions so much easier! She's always willing to help during office hours and her reviews are very similar to the tests! Labs are easy and homework is online! Thanks for everything, Rosa! TAKE HER! :)
She is organized & clear. Fair grader; in the best interest of the students. Provides lectures notes so textbook is not needed unless you want an A. She has mood swings and pet peeves so sometimes she gets snappy, but if you stay on her good side, you shouldn't have a problem with that. Attendance is required if you want to stay on her good side.
very boring teacher especially her teaching.
not a helpful teacher, she doesn't care even if a student doesn't understand.also if you want to ask her a question she gets mad. sometimes i don't want to ask her a question even if i didn't understand.DON'T get any class with her.
She can be rude, but don't take it personally. Doesn't come truly caring about the understanding of chemistry. Could be worse, but not that great. I just didn't take well to her attitude, can that she skipped a lot of material.
I have no idea what some of these people are talking about (they are probably upset because they didn't get good grades) Rosa's class is pretty simple: put in the work and you'll do well. She gives plenty of study material (practice tests, review sheets, etc) and is just an overall great teacher. Don't listen to the haters.
AWFUL. do NOT take her. She acts like she's very willing to help, then when you ask her a question she looks at you like you're stupid and more than likely will embarrass you in front of the class. WAY to much information jammed in a short amount of time, and she goes so fast you can't get a grip on what she's saying before she's already moved on.
Rosa is a good teacher... avoid asking questions in class though - she already feels rushed, so slowing down her lecture isn't a good idea. Go to office hours instead.
Rosa is a great teacher! She explains chemistry in a way in which i actually understand. She moves through material very quickly so it's necessary to keep up & stay focused. The only negative thing i have to say about her is that she has a bit of an attitude problem, making students feel dumb for asking certain questions.
Rosa is a nice enough lady outside of class but in class she rushes way too fast and does not even let the students get all the notes down. She does not seem to like answering questions and gets annoyed (which makes no sense since her job as a teacher is to helpfully and clearly answer any questions!). Her notes in class are unorganized/confusing.
Rosa (for me) was freakn' awesome but it was not easy. Take advantage of her office hours (at the PSME center) and email her if you have a question (is very quick to answer). She gives massive EC. She does get angry sometimes (need tough skin sometimes) but other than that, she's the best. Studying is required if you want to Ace her class.
Rosa is more than willing to help you exceed --especially if you can spend time reading, reviewing the material, and demonstrate effort. Earning an A is without a doubt, achievable. After all, she truly wants her students to succeed, in which I admire as an educator myself. I will definitely will miss this class. Thank you for all you have done! :)
Recommended her for those who are in medical field majors. She is super helpful, really knows you and her class is really fun. although she takes attendances but it's not required to go to her lectures if you can study yourself. But it benefit A LOT to go to her lectures, lots extra credits and practices, exams are what she taught in class.RECOMMEND!
She has a passive aggressive attitude problem. She tries very hard to appear nice. She doesn't really know how to teach. She transfers words from the textbook onto powerpoint slides then reads the words to you. Don't recommend.
Bad grammar, speaks like a kid, sounds unprofessional. Doesn't know how to explain thoroughly. Rushes through material. Has a temper problem at times. Makes class awkward.
Don't take her for Chem30B. You will end up teaching yourself with the textbook. She will hardly help you learn anything in class because she rushes.
she isnt that bad. She gets mad easily when students come to class UNPREPARED but seriously dont take it personally cos she wants her students to be ready for exams. Shes quite strict in lab though. Her exams are quite hard. but the final is a piece of cake.
Rosa is misunderstood. Meet her half way; read before coming to class. Then her lecture can structuralize the information, further clarify, or be review for you. Have common sense to follow protocol, especially in lab. You don’t want an experiment to go wrong then wonder about the change in her mood. Keep in mind, there’s a method to her madness =)
She rushes through lecture and does not seem to have any enthusiasm in our class. Exams were not easy. She seems a bit intimidating as she kinda has an attitude among her students. I don't recommend!
I did pretty darn bad on the exams cos the exams were quite hard for me. but her cumulative multiple choice final was super easy and can be done within 30 mins. Yes she does have swing mood esp. when students don't follow instructions or come to class unprepared. No lab pop quiz though.
Rosa is one of the BEST teachers at Foothill. I took 30A & B. Her class is hard, you have to put time and effort to do well, but you can get an A. A lot of extra points through the quarter, so your grade can be improved. She's very nice, easy to talk to (sometimes moody), always available if you need help. Tests come from her study guides/notes.
Rosa was the best chem teacher I had! She takes the time to go through all of the material rather than rushing just to keep on schedule. Also goes slow through lectures so that you can actually follow along. She's always available to help and she's close to her students. Not an easy grader, but if you attend her class everyday you will be fine
great
I took her class because of the comments below, the first week of class she seemed really cool and very helpful, but the following week and the rest of the quarter, she was not what i excepted, she's very rude when you ask her questions, her responses are very snappy and makes you feel stupid. she gets bothered every time you ask her a question
She is not helpful almost at all. She can be mean and rude at times. Her grammar is extremely incorrect. She only gives 3 tests all quarter and each count for 20% of your grade. I would not recommend her if chem is not your forte'.
She is a good instructor, but her class is difficult. She will not like you if you are unprepared for labs class. Help is always there if you go to her office hours. This class is assignments galore, with homework, prepost labs, chapter assessments, lab write ups, quizzes, midterms, and a final. There will ALWAYS be something due.
In class she goes through the material well enough(theory+calculation) but when there are questions, she's reluctant to answer more than she thinks you need to know. I like her, but she can be strict sometimes. Not too hard to pass quizmidtermsexams as long as you review the homework she gives (helps a lot!). Very helpful during office hours.
Rosa has pretty good lectures as she hand writes the notes as she lectures. Depends if you like that. Sometimes I can't read her handwriting. However, she is not approachable, is snappy, rude, and isn't helpful. She makes you feel dumb. She doesn't specify her directions. Save yourself. Don't take her class... Unless you want to feel inferior.
She's so passive aggressive. She'll be sarcastic in a rude way when you ask for help. She made me feel uncomfortable and chemistry is my forte.. Doesn't even know chemistry that well. Gets stuck explaining things then says "nevermind. DON't worry about it, it's not going to be on the test."
She really knows what she is talking about and presents the material clearly. Always available to her students (I kinda lived in her office for the quarter). Comes across as moody, but its just cuz she wants to scare the slackers. The tests have similar content to the hw. Study the material, go to class, and you will pass no prob.
A systematic organized professor who presents her contents clearly. Her lectures are easy to understand, a bit too much homework but the tests are manageable. Do her worksheets and sample exams and you'll guarantee yourself an A.
This is one of the best professors at Foothill!
Rosa is very nice, she helps you understand the material a lot!
LOVE LOVE LOVE HER! she made my fear of chemistry go away, and shes one of the most amazing professors ever! study homework and practice exams and youll do fine on the midterms, i didnt even crack open the textbook!! she's one of those professors who youll be friends with even after class is over, trust me.
Rosa is one of the best science teachers I have ever had. She cares about her students so much, and is always willing to work with you to help you understand the material. I wish she was teaching the rest of the Chem sequence and not just 1A, because I would build my entire future schedules around having her- thats how good she is.
Her exams are very hard. There are at least 80% questions on the exam are different from chapter reviews, hw, old practice exams. Each exam contains a ton of questions, but given only 90 mins. Study hard and put a lot of effort don't guarantee you an A on exam because most of exam questions surprise you. If You are average student, should not take
Rosa gives you everything you need to pass the class (mock tests, practice problems for each chapter, annotated lecture notes.) As long as you put in effort to actually understand the material an A is not difficult. She's adorable and will set up extensions/extra office hours if you need it. Probably the most underrated teacher here at Foothill. :)
I was hesitant to take her at first because of mixed reviews, but she's actually really nice and very down to Earth. She makes it clear as to what's on the exam and what she expects from you during her lectures. As long as you put in some time and effort, getting a good grade is always within reach. Go to her office hours for help if needed.
Her class is not boring. She knows materials well, and she is helpful when you ask questions. However, her tests and quizzes are tough. She makes questions very complicated on the tests. Average students will fail her class. Take her if your major is chemistry because you will learn more than in the textbook.
she is a very tough teacher and quizzes and text are extremely hard. DONE take this teacher if you want to pass chemistry.
Rosa is a nice person in general, but she is a really tough grader. She gave out a study guide for the exams, but when it came to the actual exam, it was 10 times harder than the study guide. I would avoid her at all cost, unless you are really good at chemistry.
Do not listen to anyone who gives her terrible reviews.
Professor Nguyen is a wonderful teacher! She is very willing to help and genuinely cares about her students' academic success. She provides additional materials online so that her students can practice what is taught in class, which I have found very helpful! I would take her again if she was to teach any other course in the series!
I love chemistry because of Dr. Nguyen. Her lectures are incredibly organized and comprehensive. She is also THE kindest and warmest human being. So get your priorities in the right order, and youll enjoy this class!
Easy A. Must Take. She is nice and gives easy exam.
It is not too hard to pass her class with a C, but it is too hard to get an A. Respect her first, so she respects you. Ask her nicely, and she will answer u every things. I admire her strong knowledge about Chem. Most of the the time, she can answer students' questions. I never heard she said," I don't know, I am not sure, will check answer later"
She really cares about students. If you want to get good grades, you should join her office hours and ask her for help. She gives you many extra credits even at lecture, so you should attend lecture. Be ready for exams with her material. Then you will be fine.
Rosa is the best chemistry professor I have had. Taking general chemistry at Foothill, Rosa by far was the best lecturer, lab instructor, and tutor. Not only did she lecture clearly, she also explained a lot of the material in an easy way. If you still had hard time with chemistry she offered group tutoring. If you work hard you'll get an A,
Rosa gets a lil moody once in awhile but nonetheless, she is a great professor and she is really caring. Her exams are quite hard b/c they really test your understanding on the materials but she grades them leniently. Rosa is really helpful and approachable. Don't be afraid to ask for help if you need it.
She's very sweet however........ very confusing to follow and waaaaaaaaay to test heavy if you show up to every lecture and lab do your homework but do poorly on the tests you won't pass... not to mention most students learned on YouTube as her teaching style is very complex unfortunately!
Rosa truly wants her students to succeed. The material can be challenging, and the way she explains it can be a little difficult to understand at first, but she is patient and takes time to make sure everyone understands. She also sets up study groups. Labs are easy. I didn't get the textbook and I got an A without it.
Worst and hardest teacher I've ever taken in my entire life. She is moody and rude even when someone needs to ask a question when she's lecturing. Her exams are super hard, study guide is never helpful.
Chem scares people but not the way she teaches it. She makes it easy to understand and I never had any difficulty at all. She post her lecture notes online, outlines every step of each chapter, and really works on helping you understand the subject. The way she taught it I felt like I could have understood chem as a child. No textbook, fun labs
First off, don't buy the textbook...I wish someone told me before I dropped nearly $200 on it. Didn't use it once. Her tests are based off her lectures so make sure to come to class. She is very clear on her expectations and goes over things repeatedly to make sure people understand the material. Pay attention and you'll pass.
She is the best Professor I've had so far. When I took her class it was my third time (chemistry is not my fav subject) but she helped me so much that I passed. She is super dedicated to her students and she'll help you understand if you ask for help.
Rosa has been the most personable teacher ive ever had. I am now in her her Chem 30 B class because I love her teaching style. She is EXTREMELY caring of her students and tries her best to help her students. She actually cares and understands you have a life outside of class. Best teacher Ive EVER had! She is more than a teacher to me but a friend!
She is very helpful. She explained slides clearly, use different color pens to mark different key points. Very patience to answer questions. Also she knows her student's name. Get prepared for the class and labs, try to read ahead, try to go to her office hours, the class wont be so hard. She is pretty strict to the class rules, get prepare for it.
Rosa is an awesome teacher and person. She really cares about her students as individuals and it shows. She offers so many resources to help her students : class notes, office hours, sample exams, lecture slides. Give her respect and she is super cool. Don't text in class. If you are a serious student, take Rosa - you will learn chemistry.
Rosa wants you to do well in her class. She reviews material until she thinks everyone is ready to move on. I think some material was skipped, which might be a problem for people taking subsequent Chem classes. But she takes colorful lecture notes and posts them online. There is more than enough material to practice for tests.
Rosa is an amazing professor. I highly recommend her to anyone who wants more relatable broken down material. She doesn't ask you to memorize the un-necessary things (such as specific formulas, she will give you them, or the periodic table). That being said it is a large work load. If you dont take notes and read you'll end up needing a tutor.
Rosa is amazing! Makes herself available during office hours and in the foundation's lab. The textbook isn't required to pass. I would recommend taking good notes in class and doing lots of practice problems. Two long midterms and a final. She offers extra credit and test corrections. she really does everything she can to help her students to pass.
The class was not hard at all, the professor gives you all the right documents to succeed in the class. You do not need to purchase the textbook as her exams are all based on lecture. Rosa is nice to some students, but if she does not like you she will pick on you in class and embarrass you. She is super anal about things too.
Rosa is great. Take lab with her. Students that have her for both lab and lecture score higher on the tests. Dont buy the textbook- exam material from handouts. Get to know her; she will bend over backwards if you make an effort (i.e. visit her in office hours). If you ask her questions make sure you've attempted the problems first. Good luck!
Rosa is a great professor, I would definitely recommend her. She clearly cares about her students and works hard to help them succeed. She wants you to do well and will give you all the tools to succeed as long as you prepare for class and study for exams.
Rosa is hands down the best chem professor at Foothill. She provides a lot of opportunities for extra credit, her lectures are detailed, she's extremely sweet and completely willing to help you in any way necessary.
She's a gem. From the first day of class she was sweet and made sure to not overwhelm any of the students. She is good about making her lectures clear and wants every student to understand. It is not homework heavy. Tests are fair and she prepares you for them really well. One of the sweetest, understanding, and caring professors I met. Take her!!!
Rosa has good lectures and gives easy examples during her lectures but her exams are way too hard and the study guide doesnt help at all because the exam questions are much more complicated and there's not enough time alloted to finish all the questions. Don't take her class especially if chem is not your forte!!!!
I took Rosa's hybrid course, meaning I only attended lab sessions as the material is online through Mastering Chem (which is the hardest part about this class, grades super tough). Anyway, we had group exams! She gives out a sample exam that is identical to the actual exam. Rosa is wonderful. She feels for us students & sets us up to pass. EC!
Will call you out for no reason, says the class isnt all about tests yet the tests are really hard and is 60% of the grade.
I'm taking Rosa for the hybird CHEM 30A which means I will do the lecture online and go to school once a week for the lab. Lab is pretty easy, as long as you are there, and you will get the points. she delivers the lecture online, just make sure you review the materials and do the homework then you will be fine. No textbook required.
I took Rosa for Chem 30A during the Fall 2017 and she was the best Chem teacher I have ever had. Easy to understand. Go to class and take good notes on her lectures and you'll do just fine on the exams. She let us use a notecard on the cumulative final. She lets you makeup labs if you let her know ahead of time that you will be missing them
I'm doing my hybird chem 30A right now, I definitely love Rosa, she does care about her students, as a professor she wants everyone to pass but it doesn't mean that you don't need to study. She gives extra credits, that really helps most of students.
You will be fortunate if you get into professor's Rosa course. Beside the fact she is the sweetest person in the world, you will learn a lot of useful things from Chemistry, things that will help you in your career and even in your daily life. Rosa respects students, is very fair and helpful. I will miss the Chemistry and Rosa...
Mrs. Rosa is an amazing teacher, what I like about her is that she is really caring about her student and for those that have specific commendations due to learn disabilities she is really want to help you out. She uses Notability for her lecture which is amazing its very visual and has audio with it. Test aren't that bad at all.
Best Chem teacher. Take her!! Amazing structure has so many materials that would help you pass the class. Most of the work is done through mastering chemistry. She prepares you well by the practice exams. Knows what she is doing. She really cares about her students and wants the best for them.
She is amazing, organized, and is willing to work with you. Lots of extra credit and the exams/content is very straightforward. I was able to earn an A+ with moderate effort, and I still have that strong foundation in chemistry from her class. What helped for me was doing practice problems on the modules as they are similar to the exam questions.
Professor Rosa is very friendly and caring. Im sure that i will recommend everyone around me to take her class! Thanks Professor Rosa!
So I took Rosa's class a year or two ago, but I'm back to say it gave me a GREAT foundation for my current chem class. She'd work through problems in class, and then have you do them helping others around you. She was super clear on what you needed to know and her study guides were very helpful.
Rosa is an amazing Chemistry professor! She is so sweet and genuinely wants her students to succeed. She's designed her class in a way that will genuinely help you succeed. She gives extra credit opportunities and her class is very easy to follow. Chemistry as a subject is challenging, but she really does her best in making sure you understand!
Easy A. The final is optional. There are two midterms and one final. Only the two with the highest scores would count. If you do well on the two midterms, you can opt out of the final.
really nice!
expectations are clear, no curve balls. No midterm or final, just biweekly quizzes that are fairly short! All hw is completed on mylab and mastering so you'll have to pay for that service. Overall not a hard class, was nervous as I didnt really understand how it would be diff from intro to chem.
LOTS OF VIDEOS to go through, but they are the key source to passing this class. I would say that the only reason you are not passing this class is that you didn't watch her videos. Nguyen is also accessible through email or zoom meetings if you need that extra help or have questions. You can get an A easily if you just put in the time.
I lucked out with getting Rosa. She's clear about her assignments and deadlines, she's a fair grader and most importantly her lectures are detailed and easy to follow along. Her lectures were so well explained, there were times I didn't show up for class and was still able to catch up with no issues. If you're reading this Prof. Rosa - YOU ROCK!!!
There are many lecture videos to go through. But this class was very easy if you watched it all. All her labs are very easy and straight forward. She gives out biweekly quizzes and a few hw assignments. I would recommend taking this class.
I was extremely late to adding her class to my schedule, but she was really kind and was super fast at contacting me back + giving a code. Her classes aren't mandatory but she had zoom for those who did want to attend. Her lecture videos are short, very straightforward & she explains everything very well. I'd HIGHLY recommend taking her classes!!
A fun class, kind of difficult to understand especially with it being online. etc.... but overall fun class and her grading was ok.
Easy class if you follow her lecture video and practice, practice, practice. She's very organized and goes over equations step by step. You have to put in the work but thanks to Rosa, she made it easy to learn. Biweekly quizzes, all hw, assignments and labs are due at the end of the quarter, but do it weekly to keep up.
GREAT PROFESSOR! No regrets taking her course. Rosa is extremely nice and understanding. There are a lot of videos to watch, but as long as you keep up with them, you will pass the class with an easy A. Her lectures are very well organized and there is quiz corrections for extra credit.
She was super understanding the whole quarter and insanely nice. One note/question packet per unit usually about 3 pages. Units are not long. Only had 2 tests. Not heavily weighed tests either. You're allowed to miss only 2 labs but get a lot of credit for going to the labs. Labs are super easy.
The assignments & labs are easy. Even tho everything is open book, she takes the questions from online & rewords them so bad, that you can't understand what you're supposed to do. She doesn't seem to understand what she's supposed to do either. Exams are 50% of your grade & are fairly time consuming. Everything is poorly laid out & so unorganized.
Rosa was great! I hate chem but she made it where it is fun. With the exam you can make corrections for half points which was helpful. You can work with a tutor or friend as well on the exam which you can go in and out of. The only real hw are these packets that are due on the last day of class. Make sure you watch the lecture videos and take notes!
Amazing teacher & person! I was part of the in person class, but attendance was not required as the canvas is designed in a way that you can take it async. But definitely come to class because she does practically all the homework problems with you. Exams are open book, open canvas, & are encouraged to ask both classmates and Rosa questions.
This professor was very professional and caring when it came to one-on-one time with her students. Her lectures were easy to follow, and she made sure to go back to earlier units to refresh if students were having a hard time keeping up. Great class to prepare for Chem 1A, however make sure to not leave the work for the last minute.
Her Chem25 hybrid class with Melody was so incredibly easy. She has resources for you to read and has uploaded lecture content weekly that covers everything you need to know. Practice problems involving these videos are turned in for credit. Her exams are completely online on Canvas and are as easy as lecture problems. I felt confident for Chem1A.
Amazing. very very sweet teacher, she becomes very curious about how your life is going. Arrive on time for labs and keep yourself on pace for chapter reviews and you'll be good. light work, she provides food too.
Rosa is a great professor, with a very organized course. The due dates of her assignments are flexible, although I would recommend staying on top of them because the questions will be similar to the ones you will get on her exams. She is very caring, and answers questions patiently.
One of the best teacher I have every had. It's completely your fault if you don't pass this class.
I had this class online for lecture. Her lectures were relevant to the questions she asked on homework and exams. I don't think it was possible to get a bad grade in this class as she gives second chances on every assignment and offers corrections on exams. Two short assignments a week (20 min max each and can do anytime), 1 midterm, 1 final exam.
So kind and approachable. I would definitely take her again. Took her chem class during the summer and it was a bit overwhelming to cram everything in 6 weeks, but she encourages students to reach out to her if you are having difficulty. She is so sweet and helpful. Lab was fun!
such an easy class! took it during the summer. she guides you through the labs and gives examples of calculations so class takes about two hours- usually out early. homework was also easy, she provided answers, and you need to show your work. if you don't get an A in this class it's your fault! take this class if you're considering!
Probably the sweetest person out there—she's wonderful, caring, and a comprehensive lecturer. She guides people through labs, is willing to help out students with both homework and assessments, and even provides valuable life advice. She wants you to succeed, and I think that is clearly conveyed through her communication style and overall approach.
Prof Nguyen is clear in her lectures and labs. Very accessible outside the classroom, and she runs around SLI helping with physics shows! I highly recommend her. Do the work and you'll get an A.
She's so kind! She's very understanding when you're late to class, it's better to show up a little late than to not show up at all. She's a little quick paced during her lectures so try to stay focused and always always take notes!
Rosa was my first teacher back in school after 15 years, and I was lucky to have her! What an awesome teacher. Labs are mandatory, lectures are optional. I highly recommend going to the lectures tho as the homework we have is covered in the lectures, as well as the quizzes. She explains things clearly and will always stop or go back if we need.
she is very nice and kindly. i would say she is extra kindly for a chem prof. i hate chem but she made it tolerable. the labs were easy and kind of interesting and the coursework was tedious because it's chem but i've seen worse. i took 2 other chem courses with different profs and i dropped both of them, but i was able to make it through this one
Lectures were very thorough and I actually understood the material. She provides a copy of the notes she writes during the lecture, very helpful. Her labs were interesting and she demonstrates how to do them before anything. This class was amazing, and Rosa was amazing! Recommend taking this class!
Such an easy class, never had to stress about anything and she is so kind
Professor Nguyen is a knowledgeable, approachable, amiable, and supportive instructor who creates a welcoming classroom environment. Labs are mandatory, lectures are optional, and the online textbook is required. No surprise tests or quizzes. Chemistry is tough, however, she was there every step of the way to ensure that her students are successful
Rosa was my best chemistry teacher I have ever had . Before taking this class I did not think I could pass. Rosa was always kind and helpful. Whenever I was confused about something, I asked her, and she would stop and explain it clearly. When I emailed her with questions, she always replied quickly.
$70 textbook, you need it to do assignments. About 1-3 assignments per week, each takes roughly 10-20 mins. Lecture videos are about 1-2 hrs. Exams and final has 2 attempts and there are "corrections" you can do to earn half of the points back. VERY easy class. You CANNOT fail unless you choose to do nothing all quarter. Shes also very accessible!
Take her!! Professor Rosa is caring, explains labs clearly, and helps step by step if you're confused. She responds to emails quickly and truly wants her students to succeed. Her labs are easy to follow and You'll feel supported. Highly recommend!
Rosa explains the mathematics really well she goes step by step instead of letting you figure it out on your own. I guarantee you her class is the easiest ChemA class at Foothill because your main priority is to show up to lab, lecture is not mandatory (but recommended), and there was no final.
I highly recommend taking Professor Rosa. I was nervous about chem, but she made the class enjoyable and stress free. She is kind, supportive, and very understanding. Homework and tests are open note, and labs are simple with good partners. I learned so much and earned an A.
Great professor. One thing I didn't like was that my lecture class was asynchronous and my lab was in person, but during lab she would spend so so so so so LONG going over stuff we learned in lecture and then we barely have time for lab and would have to turn lab in next week. Less talking and more lab time thank you
