Homework was due online and lecture was mandatory. Would not recommend her to anyone! She makes math even more tedious than it is. She just stands in the corner the whole class lecturing giving notes and is monotone. She would mess up on a lot of examples providing wrong answers. Required too much work for a three unit class.
hybrid class homework online. a project given. three exams ,one test grade she dropps and one is a take home, no notes allowed on exams very helpful , print notes come to class and learn new material
She seems a bit shy but an okay teacher. She describes the material clearly and isn't bothered when students ask a lot of questions.
you take 4 test she drops one .homework is online and she drops two lowest scores. She lets you print her notes. She is forgetful at times. However the only thing that really sucks is she does not let us use notes . her test are hard and they do not match up with the homework. just have time to really study stats, but she coo tho real chill B.
This class was easy to understand and I felt she was very clear when giving out examples in class. The test were easy if you study the quizzes and go over your notes. I would recommend this teacher as a geometry class.
I understood everything she taught us but there is a lot of material to cover & so many things to remember. 2 classroom exams(no notes),1 take home,& the final. You but she lets you use a 1 page cheat sheet for final. She is very helpful and always stays behind if anyone has questions. Everything is easy in this class except for exams .
I actually enjoyed this class. Yes, this professor is young and new, but she has one of the most important qualities to become a good teacher; she is passionate about teaching! You have to be organized and be on time with homework and assignment to be successful in her class, but aren't all the college classes supposed to be like that?
If you take this class during the summer be prepared to work hard and don't fall behind. The class moves very fast and there is a lot of material covered. Luckily Ms. Cueto is always willing to help and encourages you to ask if you have any questions. And even though she makes mistakes here and there you can tell that she loves what she does.
The homework through Pearson really helped me to study and pass the class. Luckily, the homework can be revised before submitting so you can get 100% on them. Also, she elaborates and uses examples to help you retain it better. Tests and the final are not multiple choice tests, so you have to make sure you study.
Lecture styled course,if you take this course with MsCueto it is a good idea to look at her notes before she reviews them in class. She is strict about notation. Her tests are based on her notes, not on the book, sometimes extra credit But work outside of the class is a must to do well, more than just the HW She is VERY approachable and helpful.
Ok. Her tests are not tough but she will pin point every single error like not labeling axes and then . .. I have 4.0 gpa in math and math major and thinking to drop. You decide. She doesn't see things in color. It's either black or white.
Very approachable and caring. She will go out of her way into helping each student who is struggling with the material. Has really great qualities for a young professor. You can tell she enjoys her career and is passionate. Reading and studying the packets and modules are required to pass this class. Plus, shes quite cute.
Cueto gives clear and through instructions/will repeat as necessary for those students needing more help. 30 in-class worksheets, 6 quizzes, 3 tests, a final and project due @end of semester. Doesn't except late work or extra credit. Homework once a week and online checkpoints due periodically to help you better understand material. GREAT CLASS!!
She's a great professor. She has always helped me when I have had questions. She is very thorough in her explanations. She helped me understand stats. I would highly recommend her.
ugh! she's very nice I must admit and approachable. my main complain about her is her TOUGH GRADING, she will know a point off anything she can find, anything! NO extra credit, NO late work. Won't give you a 10th of a point if you need to bump you up to the next grade. I got a 78.92% aka C! P.S. I never missed a class or assignments.
The reviews are true, she is nice/helpful, but she's the toughest grader EVER, its not impossible to pass but doesn't have mercy when grading. its a bit annoying. It doesn't matter how short of a fraction you are for the next grade up she won't give it to you. She drops 1 test score, and 3 hw assignments. theres 1 group project, thats it.
She is very detailed in her lessons. And will help you out if you are uncertain about something. I must say though, she is strict about notation. I have done fine in her course and I honestly think there is no one else who could have taught this course any better. Study smart not hard, and you will do excellent this course.
She is a though grader. If you miss a single lecture you will be lost and wont pass the class. I will retake her class due to difficulty level and to challange myself. Many students probably will not take her again!
She is a sweet lady and very nice but yes she grades too strict and the group project is tough. I asked around about her class and half the people I asked failed with a D so if you don't pay 100% attention it will be hard to pass
Honestly just a matter of studying. Study notes and actually attempt on the homework, and you should be in the journey to an A.
Speaks clear & makes effort to explain concepts thoroughly. Sometimes moves too slow. Grades very tough every detail matters. Group project is easy. Keys; sit up front, pay attention, ask questions, buy TI-84 calculator & attend SI before tests. she put up with my antics all semester so shes pretty patient. i'd recommend her, but not an easy class.
Miss Cueto was an amazing teacher! I took her for Math 12 (Statistics) and it was an easy class! As long as you show up and pay attention you'll understand the material. The great thing about her is that she will explain anything you don't understand regardless of how basic it is and without making you feel dumb. If I could, I would take her again!
Study the notes and recheck your work for your tests. Tip: NOTATIONS MATTER ON TESTS, EVERY LITTLE DETAIL! -1 pt if you did that wrong and it adds up. Even though you understand the material, make sure you're writing your answer perfect. Not that much hw just easy to forget to do it. Explains everything thoroughly. She was great and super nice.
All I have to say is don't take her. You can't use a calculators and she gives alot of online homework through Pearson. She over explains problems and just confuses you at the end.
I enjoy classes with lots of homework because it prepares you for the test, but I feel the amount of homework assigned was not reflected in the grade (4+ hours a week at best for 10%). Also tried to teach usining youtube videos when absent. I have gotten a 4.0 every semester until I took this class, I ended up dropping. Toughest grader ever.
Shes difficult and doesnt know how to teach
Ms. Cueto is an exceptional, warm and fair professor. She's the type that pushes you but in the way a coach pushes you. To bring out the best of your ability. She's always available if things are tough and patient with you. She is the best straight shooter of an instructor I have aver had and I hold her in high regards and have the utmost respect.
Shes the nicest lady, but to be honest the class is nothing short of misery if you arent a math person. Her class is passible but it required me to spend 30 hours a week of study out of class. I passed with a C and Im so happy to never have to step foot in her class again. If you can find an easier teacher go for it.
Nice lady but lectures dry. Makes lots of simple mistakes during lecture. Grades picky with notation on tests, marks points off any opportunity. 5 hours of homework a week. Grading percent Tests and final 80, HW 10, problem of the day 10. Dropped this class after majority of class bombed test 1, took with another instructor and got an A no problem.
Shes a good professor, statistics can be a lot of work. But as long as you do the projects and hw fue online you should be good!
shes alright, but takes forever to respond to emails, she makes little mistakes on lecture always late to class, but not really hard shes whatever haha
no quizzes, hw takes up so much time and worth little to nothing. grades hard on exams, makes too many little mistakes. short tempered, doesn't have a lot of patience. you don't use the book, her pearson uploads are too messy, barely shows examples at home bc she'll tell you to "try the problem at home". save yourself time and take someone else.
I have taken this class twice and based on experience make sure you study & if you do not understand the material either go to her office hours or get tutoring! There is a lot of hw & there are three tests but she drops the lowest test score & the lowest 6 hw scores. Do the homework as soon as you learn the material & dont wait! Dont skip class!
Great professor! Clear on grading criteria and is accessible outside of class. Knows her stuff! Textbook not required. You will need an online access code to complete hw. STILL READ THE BOOK. Find a study buddy, Tutoring is recommended! 3 test, drops the lowest grade if the final one is better!Stay on top of work. Don't be afraid to ask for help.
People usually say stats is a hard class, but professor Cueto makes stats less complicated with her style of teaching. I would definitely recommend her!
Professor Cueto sets a high standard for her students and she gives you the tools to rise to that standard. Pay close attention to the details she expects on notation, it will cost you points if you overlook those details. Also, learn all of the graphing calculator functions that apply to her class. Write them down! This will make your life easier!
She is a nice person, but I agree, Her Grading is horrible, 70% on just a regular test but Lower percent for finals. Plus homework is only worth 10 percent, which its bad, you will be spending a lot of time working on homework than anything else. save your time and look for someone else.
I took her for MAT10 and I couldnt understand anything, I felt like she went too fast and wouldnt explain things clearly. Or she would explain things too much and then it wouldnt make sense. Math is my worst subject so she was just too fast pace for me so I had to drop because I wasnt going to pass. She was super nice though!
Took forever to grade exams. Paid over $100 for access code for hw and e text. Lots of hw and quizzes for such little worth. Weekly discussions were a waste of time and demanding. Gave extra credit on exams..I knew I did bad on the final and emailed her but she still didn't put up my grade until two days before I could register for stats again.
I took her twice one online and going in , I failed both time , test are worth 70% and thats not fair because her test are hard , a lot of homework but no point to it bc its only 10% overall do not take her
Shes not good at explaining makes it even harder, always has an attitude. Does everything so fast when explaining not good at all
Honestly, I have no idea where these negative reviews are coming from. I am currently taking stats now and Professor Cueto is amazing! She literally explains every single problem more than once to ensure everyone understands it 100%. She goes out of her way to help students during her office hours. Quizzes and exams are not hard at all; just study!
Prof Cueto is an extremely nice person and makes herself available to help students during office hours. She is very knowledgeable and passionate about math. She will give you as much help as you ask for. Her tests and grading can be tough, but, let's face it, stats is a tough class. But like anything else, do the work, study, and you'll do well.
I took statistics before at a different college and failed. Professor Cueto explains clearly and thoroughly. She is very resourceful and helpful. She teaches slowly and pauses for questions. She genuinely cares for us to succeed in her class. Homework is done online on Pearson/MyStatLab. If you pay attention in class the hw is not too difficult.
With this Covid 19 and all classes going to online she still very informative. she gives you the chance to improve your grade.
Rosalia is the best prof i have ever had for mathematics, she explains every problem detailed and clear. She makes algebra make sense! With everything going on she always cared and made sure the class was doing alright which comforted me a lot. Lectures are entertaining, thorough, if you need her she'll be there, grading is clear, amazing math prof!
She is extremely strict on tests/Homework. Doesnt teach all the proper criteria for the homework, so you pretty much have to teach yourself the rest. Doesnt answer questions. Never grades on time so you arent sure your current grade. only offered 3 points of extra credit, which is basically nothing! 1/10 would not recommend, huge waste of time
I took Professor Cueto during the Spring 2020 semester. Prof Cueto really cares about her students, however, she does give a lot of hw, and takes a while to get back to emails. Please study the material, because she does not do study guides for tests. Takes her a while to update grades.
Professor Cueto was brilliant. As we moved from in class to online she was very helpful. she had office hours, and would even make time for you if you could not attend those hours. She was really thorough with the work and very detailed on what to focus on for the test. If youre second guessing taking stats online, dont. You wont regret it!
I am horrible at math, so believe me I was terrified starting the semester and especially some reviews scared me, but it was worth it in the end. the tests were hard the chapters were difficult almost ended with a C. you must study and put in the work or you won't pass. need help she is willing to help you understand.
Gives too much assignments weekly and daily. Not understanding or compassionate of other things that may happen outside of school. Very unnecessary requirements during finals and tests, things like verbal exams and such. If you want to actually learn math and have a chance at passing do not take this womans class.
in the beginning I was having trouble with my access code and she didn't care when I went to her for help she wasn't very compassionate and I missed a test because I have family outside of the US and a storm hit so we went out to visit and when I told her she didn't even care to text back gives way to many assignments and shes just rude
there is excessive amount of homework, so be ready to do a lot homework and is a tough grader
The Homework is very understandable but when it comes to the test and finals is where it's graded heavy and if you miss one little thing it affects the whole score and more than likely fail the test because one may be worth only 1 point to where one problem may say it's worth 3-5 points per problem
If you want to learn math, don't take. You are literally doing work for a letter grade and not actually learning. Quizzes are every week and lots of homework, this class will be hard to manage.
This teacher expects you to do your work her way. If you get an answer right on the test and the work isn't done the way she wants it to be the whole thing will be counted wrong even if you got it right, which is unfair. There are quizzes every week and excessive amount of homework.
Unprofessional
Spending most of your time doing homework, which isn't much points and doesn't teach just assigns work
She is a good professor, her discussion post are very inspirational, so make sure you take part in that. But, one thing I don't agree with is the way she grades. What matters most is your work and has to be done a certain way or else it will be counted wrong.
This class was impossible to pass gave it my all studied took my time on my work for every assignment and still wasn't enough didn't deserve the grade I got for taking her class I hope she changes the way of teaching for the next students.
worst class
Horrible. DOES NOT HELP AT ALL AND VERY RUDE. Wouldn't help me when i had trouble getting into her zoom and test. Told me she'd drop me from the class if i couldn't figure out what i was doing. Rolled her eyes at me, made me feel even worse. Disrespectful as a person
She was so rude I was having trouble connecting to zoom and she told me I had 30 minutes to figure out the problem before I get dropped.
Do your self a favor and AVOID this course with this professor ! I would recommend saving your money and looking at professors from different colleges to take that are willing to work with there students and help them along there academic journey. She will not provide help even with attending office hours.
I took this class in the Fall, & I'm shocked by her reviews. But, I would say most of the bad reviews r from people who took the class online. I HIGHLY recommend taking it on campus. She was very helpful & went slow when teaching us the material. She went over it as many times as needed for students who had a little more hard time understanding it.
This class is not for the faint of heart, especially for those who struggle with math like me. This teacher communicates, but her pace in answering questions leaves something to be constructive. Also, she is a very tough grader. She does have room for forgiveness, but when it comes to quizzes and tests? No room for understanding.
I disagree with her way of grading. We can use a calculator, but you still have to show notes and it has to follow the formulas step by step so she can see the work...? That defeats the purpose of the calculator. And if you only put the answers, in spite of it being right, your grade will lower greatly if no work is shown...? Very harsh.
I recommend to take her class on a long semester (spring or fall), she explains every step and goes back as many times as needed. A lot of patience with her students!! Would recommend to anybody that needs/wants to learn stats, if you come for a easy grade it will not be easy.
Professor Cueto is a very caring and kind person. She is patient and her gift for teaching math is unmatched. I highly recommend any class of hers. She believes in her students and that is a gift. You must know the material but that is any math class.
She is not helpful. You have to study on your own and teach yourself. You have to show all work and if the work is incorrect but the answer is correct then you get the whole problem wrong. Would NOT recommend this professor.
Had an A all semester, but I put all Exams grades 2 days before final dropped to a D & final I did good but I still Failed.
Had an A all semester due to homework, quizzes, participation & attendance. Two days before the final she uploaded the grades for exams dropped to a D then Failed the class.
this class will have you walking in tippy toes. Very hard class.
Cueto is a kind and caring professor. Taking notes & following along is crucial in class. ALWAYS ask questions when needed. Take advantage of office hours. Practice prblms are KEY to passing the exams. If you get the answer wrong, as long as you show your work & understanding you can pass each exam with a B or better. I def recommend for Mat-9.
Worst class i've ever took. She didn't teach anything the entire time we were given youtube videos as our lectures, each lesson was a old attached video. Test were not able to be made up and wants it done her way or no way. She seemed like she hated every student in my class including me. It felt like i was teaching myself.
Tough. Scheduled zoom exams, no make-ups, no extra credit. Doesn't matter how you got the correct answer; if you didn't show the correct formula and work the way it was in the lecture, it will be marked as wrong.
At the beginning of the semester, she seemed like a good professor. I understand she has many classes, but sometimes she mixes up content from other sections. She's very strict about following the process she teaches,if your answer is correct but you don't follow her steps, it's marked wrong. She does offer some extra credit opportunities.
Professor Cueto is one of the most supportive and kind professors I've had. I was nervous about taking statistics, but she made it easy to understand. She was always patient and encouraging. Her kindness and support made me feel more confident and helped me succeed in the class. I'm thankful for her and highly recommend!!
She gives us so much hw she isn't helpful and nags you. I am struggling at home and I usually am a good at school, an A B student. She makes me feel dumb, and I have to teach myself and she just shows us youtube videos. Took a midterm a month ago on a person she still didnt grade that.
There are literally so many formulas that it felt nearly impossible to decipher the difference between needing one formula or another. I noticed that whenever I would ask her a question she wouldn't really elaborate much further so I just stopped asking questions altogether in class. No matter how much I studied this class felt impossible to pass.
Worst professor to take for stats, is not mindful of your time, she acts like it's a calculus course. Lots of hw! Normally a straight student, received a B.
