This professor is awesome! She makes the course extremely easy to understand - especially if math ISN'T your favorite subject. I took this class in a mini-term (supposedly harder) and passed with an *A*. I recommend her to everyone.

I had this professor for Fall 2006. GREAT!! She is very clear in her lectures and tells you exactly how her class will flow during the semester. Must attend class and it's 3 times a week...worth 5 credits though. She always does a "surprise" quiz before each test and it counts as extra credit for the test. Highly recommended. I got an A!!!!!!!!!!!!

Awesome teacher! She explains very clearly and also gives extra credit for the exams. The class in itself can be difficult for some people, so the tests are somewhat difficult, but she actually makes the experience pretty good. Also, she's nice!

I think that if I would have studied for I would have gotten a better grade because she is truly superb! This woman is one of the best professors for mathematics! Seriously! This comes from someone that doesn't know how to do basic math! If you want to learn and get a good grade: she's the one! :)

Ah..Ms.Alvarez.When I wasn't mesmerized by her wondrous gaze and her angelic voice I was actually learning. Her quaint sense of humor makes math class much more bearable and her teaching methods are first-class.She assigns HW which she threatens to collect but she just says so. No really, do the HW and study and you should ace her exams.Hell I did.

If you are one of those people that absolutely have a hard time with math TAKE HER! She will explain everything step by step. 4 tests, pop quizzes (extra credit), normal quizzes, and a final. Homework is not mandatory but recommended. They are useful as a study guide for the tests. Book is recommended for homework but not for class. TAKE HER!!!!

She grades fairly, and for tests I would say do your homework as soon as its assigned! Exams are not easy. She is so sweet, I would take her again!!

Honestly, Ms. Alvarez is one of the most clear and absolutely fantastic teachers out there. She truly shares a passion for teaching and cares about your grade. HER GRADING IS VERY JUST AND FAIR- she allows you to redo all homework after she locks them. She gives you the exact study guide precise for the exams. I use to hate math before her.

I absolutely loved her class! Calculus is a very difficult subject, she made it easy and clear. She reviews anything you ask her to. Your grade is based off 5 exams and 3 projects. final is optional but also gives extra credit quizzes for every chapter which come straight from the homework!

One of the best Math professors I've had. Her lectures are very clear and she doesn't mind explaining things more than once. There are 5 exams plus the final. No midterm. Best math professor in Miami Dade college. Math is a difficult subject for me but she just made it so crystal clear and easy to understand. I highly recommend her. You do have to buy the online code for mymathlab you will have access to the book on there and won't have to buy the actual book.

Yes, lots of homework, but they will help you with the exams a lot. The videos, and the study guides are very useful as well. I have really enjoy this class. She was very helpful, and after every exam she will reminding and recommending things for the next one. Everything was perfectly organized. I recommended her 100%.

Class is completely online. no deadlines for hw. deadlines are for 4 tests & one final no midterm Class is taught with mymathlab vids no book necessary but an access code is required to complete assignments. Nothing proctored. Use Mathway app and youll get an A. Since its online you don't have to show your work. Easy A but you wont learn anything

Oh my god!she is an amazing teacher.I took her for a 8 week course so we only had 4 exams,4 quizzes and a final and obviously lots of homework .At the end of the semester she removes your lowest exam grade.

I really enjoyed this class. The professor is very interactive despite me taking it fully online. She keeps us updated daily on what to keep track of and responds to emails fast. All hw is open since the beginning of semester but do have due dates. Midterm and final are proctored and worth a lot, 30 and 40%z

For MGF 1106, there is A LOT of homework, the tests are not that bad. Go over the lectures, slides, and review for the exams, DO THE HOMEWORK, and you're guaranteed an A. She is a great professor. There is 2 online exams and 3 in person exams. She offers extra credit incase you didn't score well on the exams and provides videos and practice questions. All the homework assignments are reopened near the end of the semester.

Probably the best math teacher you can get at MDC. She gives you 4 tests and an optional final exam. Homework and Attendance are not part of your grade. Her lectures cover everything you need to know for the test. She grades very lightly. She grades you on whether or not you understand how to get to the answer, not if you get the answer correct.

YouTube videos made it so much easier to understand than her slide show. Warning though, this is my 2nd math course. All math courses require you to pass midterms and finals with at least a 60% or else you fail completely
