I started the SSW Program, and the professors want us to write a lot of essays. I couldn't even write a paragraph. I had terrible grammar, but I can write an essay. My grades are very high. Also, she has encouraged me a lot. I was fortunate and proud to be her student. She accomplished even one who has no English education. She is incredible.

I have 8 courses including this class and I go to another campus so sometimes when I'm really busy, I skip this class. That's how u lose marks because, attendance is mandatory. All the assignments are done in class, mostly partner & group work. She gives out a lot of handouts, because she doesn't want you to buy the expensive Italian book.

Great experience learning a second language with prof Caruso. Just like in any course do your work and CD tend each class and youll be successful. Dont blame anyone but yourself. She is very creative and all assignments and handouts were her own materials so we didnt have a event e I buy textbook. Very caring and fair instructor.

We learned how to write professional letters and for Remembrance day we had the chance to write letters to veterans at military hospital to let them know we did not forget them and we did group scavenger hunt to find soldier boots that were worn at vimy ridge. Prof Caruso is very creative with the lessons. Each class we learned writing, speaking, listening and presentation skills that were helpful to prepare us for our career. She was always patient, caring and understanding. Very approachable and helpful! Enjoyed activities like dragons den, creating our own Ted talks videos and lip sync fundraiser.

I appreciate the way she teach the students because in these pandemic times I was confused that How will I able to attend classes but she helped by indulging the students in a lot of interesting activities, and I would definitely recommend other students to definitely grab the opportunity to be taught by her.

At the beginning, I thought this class would be the hardest, but it turned out to be the most rewarding. It helped me grow and boosted my confidence in speaking and writing. My teacher, Caruso, created a supportive space. I'm proud of how far I've come in my English communication.

I think the course itself is very demanding, but I really liked the professor. If you want a chill GEN/EN course do not take because there is a lot of work, but other than that its easy and she likes to teach! Which is entertaining.

The PIE method I was taught has been an absolute game-changer for me. It not only helped me write essays effortlessly and meet the required word counts. I am deeply thankful for the way Rose instilled these skills in me. I took the IELTS, and the PIE method helped me pass. Her teaching helped me be successful to get a 4.0 GPA and become confident.

Learning a new language takes real commitment. Prof. Rose puts great effort into making the class fun and engaging, offering plenty of resources to help you understand and practice Italian. Expect regular homework, video recordings, and writing. Active participation is key in her class. So if this isn't your priority, consider a different elective.

She is a great professor, she is very responsive and caring BUT the course itself is crazy. We're drowning in assignments every week!!!!

ProfCaruso is such a kind and caring person. Se created such a positive learning environment that made coming to class something to look forward to. I remember when we did the PIE, I was very excited to come to class every week.The PIE taught me a lot, and I know I will use it for life. I hope one day I will get the chance to meet her in person.

I'm so happy being in this course. I love how Prof Caruso teaches. I'm only two weeks and learned so much more than in high school. Amazing how she can create a great class atmosphere where we all get to help each other in the peer support activities before we do our assignments and revise our previous assignments so we know whats wrong to improve

I had never enjoyed learning a language until I was taught Italian by Prof. Caruso. She is very supportive and engaging. She tends to give a lot of homework but you will notice that your language skills are improving through it. I was surprised by how much I could understand by the end of the semester and I'd like to continue learning.
