great class, she teaches concepts that extend beyond the book. i'm an econ major so i respected what she did. if you aren't interested in econ or just want to free-ride, i don't advise you take her. A's are obtainable and there is room for error. if u r ligitimately open to learning you'll do fine. if you just want to coast and leech, don't bother

She is an easy teacher. She is weird sometimes and laughs at her own jokes but that is because she has too much coffee. She will stay a lot time after class to answer questions and gives a lot of helpful examples. My exams were not hard but I saw her other exams and they were horrible. If she thinks your class is stupid, she will make the test EASY

She is the "Rainman" of economics. She knows economics, without questions, but it's not always clear how to follow her. She's very kind, a little goofy, but genuinely wants her students to learn. There is room for error and if you're interested in improving, she's eager to help.

Summer08. Fun,interesting, and a wealth of knowledge, a truly great prof. Knows the material like the back of her hand and is so willing and able to help her students anytime, if you care about your grade so will she. I have never seen a more dedicated professor than her. To come unprepared to her class is just rude. Read the chapters in advance. You will be able to appreciate her teachings and will benefit from her vast source of economics knowledge. As always, if you invest time in a class, an A is attainable.

Professor Payan was the besttttt... she really knows wut shes talking about and really helps u understand the subject. i mean if ur lazy and dont want to study i wouldnt recommend to take her because u need to do a lot of reading and studying before the midterm and the final... but she tells u wuts going to be on the tests which is great...AMAZING

You can complain the class was hard, specially in a short term class, but don't say she was an awful teacher. She is caring and linient. She let u take late quizzes and hwks, she stays after class for hrs to hwk and waves assignmets to help u out with grades. If u didn't understand, u probably didn't put attention. I recommend her! Professor Payan was extremely helpful and if you did understand the material she more than willing to assist you and to lend her services outside of class. However she cannot teach. She speaks very quickly and can be quite hard to follow. Her tests are diffucult. The only person to get an A in the class was a member of MENSA.

Hard class. If you miss 2+ sessions, you'll probably fail, but for a studying student this is a great class to learn about economical thinking. And Payan will be the best professor (in GCC) to help you with that. Also she practically gives the midterm/final exam answers couple days later, just attend the office hours.

This is a challenging class.If you care about your grade, you will do well. In this class, you will earn the grade that you deserve. Payan is more than willing to help you if you ask for it. I learned a lot in her class. I understand economics now. If you want to really learn about economics, you should take her. I aced all tests and got an "A."

Used no textbook. Great teacher. Short Answer question at the end of the final was a lot of fun. Keeps subject matter intresting. I would take here again.

I don't understand why everyone says this class is so hard. If you pay attention and do the homework I don't see that passing the class will be any challenge. If you miss ANY class that means once a week you will be behind. The teacher is patient and tries her best to keep the class interested. Do the homework and study and you will get an A or B

Her class is exactly what a class should be, lecture then tests. The only thing is she rushes through some of the material, but i took it in summer so maybe that's why. also, she is EXTREMELY hot. wow couldn't even focus in class

Professor payan is one of the best instructors at GCC. She's really knowledgeable and willing to help the students. I took this class in summer and aced it with an A+. If you're interested in Econ and wanna learn the fundamentals which will help you through the rest of your Econ courses then I'd highly recommend to take this class.

The best teacher. She always describes the material very well.Also, she reviews the most important concept before exams. Attend every class and pay attention. Without reading the textbook you would be fine.

Shes really cool. She tells you exactly what's going to be on the tests before she gives it to you & she ALWAYS stays after class to see if anyone else has questions. Honestly she's one of the best professors I've had at GCC. She gives extra credit all the time and keeps the class fun.

STRONGLY RECOMMENDED. 1 final, 2 midterm, quiz every class (5 questions). Clear study guides. She is very friendly and answers all questions. She gives extra credit. Make sure you get full points on Aplia HW. Class seems easy because she is a good best Econ Professor at GCC

Very nice professor. She cares about her students. Prints out huge stacks of references and notes. Pay attention in class and you will do fine on the exams. Study the notes from class. Barely used the book.

Obviously a very knowledgable person in the field of economics, but this will work against you as she rushes through material, skips steps, and makes you wonder if you are even in contention for a passing grade. Offers lots of opportunity for credit but are small nibbles on a 1000 point grade scale. Be ready to fill holes with your own assumptions

As long as you come to the class and pay attention and review the materials, you'll be fine. She gives a lot of extra credits left and right.

Very funny, kind, and understanding. The class is extremely fair and upfront. Do the homework and the extra credit. This teacher actually cares and knows the subject very well. She gives you many opportunities to pass the class. This class is TOUGH but just keep up with the work and communicate with the teacher if you are confused. Great explainer

I absolutely loved her. Her extra credit helped me. I took her during the winter and her class had total of 1500 points. I got a D on the midterm which was 525 points, but by the end of the course i had 190 extra credit points, which boosted me up to an A. She also has a rule, if you get an A on the final, you get an A in the class.

There is no way you will fail this class. She gives so much extra credit it is unbelievable. Everyone failed the tests, but she gives so much extra credit even the people who didn't care got a passing grade. She is a little unorganized, but if you actually try you will do great. She makes grading errors so make sure to check the answers

Professor Payan is one of the best professors I have ever taken. Her class is very easy to pass. She gives a study guide right before every test. She gave us a lot of incentives to be in class. Professor Payan showed me she cared and wanted me to succeed in her class. I actually learned with her help and with hard work. She explained concepts that were unclear to me during lecture.
