Before I took the class I heard she was the greatest teacher ever. Now that I take the class I love her but seems like she is more interested in how you did you essays (works cited and stuff) than what's actually on the paper. She not a boring teacher.

she is an awesome teacher, of course you have to write essays in her class, but they are not on some stupid boring topic, she gives you choices and you pick which one you feel comfortable with. she is the best english teacher on this campus, hands down.

Very awesome teacher, does not put up with any of peoples BS. She wants you to pass, but, also wants you to do your work. Everybody that does her work, i gurantee you that you'll pass.

She is picky about how she wants the papers.MLA format is very important in her classes.She really stresses research, boring, but she can tell.She is always available to help. She sometimes is confusing,if you ask, she will help. Plus she is hot!

She is incredibly liberal, and subtly pushes her views on the class. However she grades super easy, doesnt ever give papers back, just gives A's if you do all the assignments and try. EASY CLASS!

I wouldn't exactly say she is easy. She makes you write a lot. She makes the class interesting by giving us weird topics, so that makes it easy. She basically gives you a subject, and a lets you go from there.Yah,she is a liberal, but we are all in college and can make our own decisions. Great teacher! She is easy, but you have to do a lot of writing. Never got papers back, but she has a method to her craziness. Learned alot, even when I hate English and writing. She made it fun and easy. She made it fun to learn and made learning easy.

Great professor. Rose just wants you to think a little bit beyond your comfort zone on issues. Expects you to read the assigned passages and talk about them in a talk circle. Easy, but you have to write the essays and come to class, but then again it is a writing class...welcome to college future Freshmen! Would definitely take again.

TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!!! She is great at working with the students if your falling behind! She wants you to do well in her class! Take her for both English's if you can!

She is an AWESOME PROF. She understands we have a life outside of class unlike other profs who load alot of work on us. She is clear on what we need to do and is very helpful!!! Anyone can take her class and pass with an A. Just do all ur work and follow the rules!!

I think she was a great. She was different, her material was different, the way she lectured was different. She told the class in the beginning of the semester she didn't believe in grades, but in what we thought. Those who didn't like her or the class were resistant to the literature: meaning it wasn't the usual canon.

She did have alot of changes, but if you read the syllabus from the beginning, it does say 'tentative changes'. She tried to make the class happy, but there were some students who were rude and made the class environment hostile. I like the books and I liked her teaching style.She doesn't like grades but she was accessible, I visited her office oft

MS. R. is AWESOME. SHe really tries to understand you, and she wants you to be able to think for yourself. She is funny, and is really all about the writing, and what your thoughts are, not about the grammar. If you get the chance take her. I am taking her again for part two of this course.

I had her for both of my writing comp classes and now multiethnic lit and i love her. She is an awesome professor and the class is one that you want to go to. this class is an easy A.

OMG she is AWESOME! She will give a writing assignment and say to come to class like a week later with it done. So we didnt have many actual classes. She is very liberal but in a good way! She loves her students and interacts very well! AN EASY A! We only had 4 writing assignments and they were easy 3-5 pages. Id recommend her for sure!

I really disagree with the person who said that its the "1000 level students who love this teacher, not the serious, 3000+ students." I am an English major & I think she is great. She let's us speak our mind and is not intimidating very approachable. The texts she chose were fantastic. Might be a little unorganized but it's not the end of the world

This is my second class with Ms. rodriguez, I love her teaching style, and the fact that she speaks her mind. she also lets you speak your mind, and makes you think. I plan on taking her again for the rest of my requirements.!!!! She is awesome

She is a wonderful teacher. She allows you to voice your opinion to the fullest. The only problem I had was not receiving my papers back from her. We never received any of our assignments back and that left us not knowing our progress. Overall, she's a good instructor. I did all the assignments and passed with an "A". WAY TO GO PROFESSOR!

I thought she was intimidating at first but she turned out great. Just don't take her at 8 am in the morning! If you do, make sure you talk a lot. She lets you voice your opinion. She never gives back papers but who cares, It's an EASY A. I enjoyed the conversations we had in class and I'm aware of the media and society thanks to her!

She is a great teacher she taught me so much, I am very happy I had a professor like her. She wrote me a wonderful recomendation letter that got me into both trinity and St. Mary's. The best thing about her is that she makes you think outside the box, and she is always there if you need help. I just wish she was teaching at St. Mary's.

I loved loved loved this teacher. Yes, she is very liberal, but she enjoys listening to opposing views and is open to debate. She will open your mind to new thinking methods and better expand your writing abilities. Fairly easy if you speak up in class, go to class, and do all assignments properly. Everyone should be so lucky to be in her class!

AWESOME PROFESSOR! Super easy, but I still learned a lot! Her grading is very lax. I missed several classes even though she has a strict attendance policy, she does not enforce it. Somewhat unorganized, but I didn't mind. Take notes, read the books & you'll make an A. Final is open book & notes!

Rose is a pretty laid back teacher and disorganized. But her lectures are interesting because she uses her personal examples or examples that students can identify with. Just hand in all your work, participate and attend class. It was an easy A.

Rose is one of my all-time favorite professors from my college career. She was always fun, taught the material well, and cared for the students. I would be lucky if I could have her as a professor again.

Rose is inspirational and amazing. I've taken three classes with her. She's very disorganized and usually doesn't grade anything until the last week of classes. But if you can look past that, you're in for a treat. She's spicy, authentic, and unafraid of tackling complex topics. She respects all students' viewpoints.

First day of class she came dressed as a professor. By the end of the week she was wearing jeans, cowboy boots and her hair down. She is hot! Second class meeting, I moved to the front of the class.

Love her class and teaching methods. If you regularly attend class and take notes you'll make an easy A. If you are confused she keep trying to make sense of it. She is extremely hilarious at times and serious to do work at others I recommend to anybody; I literally talk to her after every class to understand more of HW and cause she is the coolest

Rose is an interesting and entertaing professor. She cares about the students and is a nice person. She does curse a lot, but in a humorous way. Her class is fairly easy, but I feel like I'm learning a lot from taking it.

Great professor that truly cares about her students. She's pretty cool compared to the other professors. Writing essays can be hectic at times but she's available to help you. Highly recommend her.

Rose took over for Portillo for this class and I liked Rose a lot more. The readings she assigned were much more interesting and she had more insight on the life of a Native American. She cusses a lot but she grades very easily. Comes in late a few times but she's a very interesting and smart professor. I'd take her again.

Rose is helpful in class and outside. She gives you the freedom to talk about whatever you want dealing with the topic. People complain about not knowing what to edit because they don't get papers back but you're in 1023, you should know how to do the work cited. Stop complaining and take responsibility. She's given you the tools, now use them.

She has a layback style of teaching -- watch out if you're sensitive to cussing though, & she makes her beliefs clear, but don't take anything she says personal! I enjoyed her class a lot, & I don't know if it's because I took the new course, AIS, instead of English that I thought it was pretty easy maintaining an A; just participate:)

She's a very nice lady. The class was always very interesting. She is a bit of a difficult grader but very clear on what she wants. Theres never really homework outside of the essays. I would definitely take her again. Great class.

This professor is a great one. She makes us do group discussions and uses topics that make you think. She wants us to not let anyone run over us. She wants us to succeed.

She assigned readings but you don't have to do them. There is no final exams. Just show up to class and pretend you did the readings in class. There is an attendance grade. There are no quizes.

The papers will make you think, and she will not tell you exactly what to write about, so you need to be open minded. That said, if you stop by her office and ask questions, she is always happy to explain things, and she always takes a genuine interest in her students' education.

Professor Rodriguez-Rabin was by far my favorite professor Ive had so far. She makes class very interesting. Monday funnies are always the best. It is also interesting to hear about her native american background. Discussions were also really great. If I were taking writing comp 2 i would definitely take her again!!

A lot of work, and she takes forever to grade papers. Group presentation and final portfolio are pretty easy if you get it done. Overall good professor, and an A is easy to achieve if you put in the effort.

One of those "easy A" claases that can quickly turn to an A- B or even a C. Great professor but please do not be fooled, you need to work hard in this class.

Prof. Rodriguez Rabin is honestly the best professor i have had. She's hilarious and very straight to the point when it comes to her powerpoints. Be in class and do your readings when assigned. Shes hilarious and be ready for story time because she loves to tell stories, but they're very interesting and worth while. Would recommend. A+

If you're looking for a writing comp class that is never dull Prof Rabin is the way to go! She's hilarious and will keep you engaged in her class. Tuesday funnies are the best and the topic she assigns for the papers are relevant. However, if you're the sensitive type you may want to reconsider. Overall best writing class I've ever taken!

This class isn't easy but prof Rodriguez is definitely one of the best professors at UTSA the essays are on very vague yet intresting topics which really make you think, she is a though grader but she does help and is really caring and funny.

I LOVE ROSE!!!! She's so so funny and will always meet you half way. She's clear about what she wants from you and is willing to work with you to help you make the grade you want! I got an A in the class. You do have to turn in your essays on time but she is understanding and may grant an extension if you REALLY need it. Would take again!!!

Rose is the best!!! Honestly the coolest professor I've ever had. She's middle-aged, but relates to her students so well! Her grading criteria is pretty straightforward and there are 4 papers total in a semester. She has class discussions online and during class which require participation, so if you're shy, this isn't the class for you.

Gave us plenty of extensions throughout the semester, hard grader and has to be 5 pages or more. Shes super funny and has plenty of office hours for you if you need help. Gives you plenty of sources and gives a clear explanation of how she wants your paper. Show up to class and follow the criteria and youll pass

Rose is the best professor at UTSA. She is a realist, so she knows that life happens. However, be prepared to be graded according to how you write, she gives great feed back and topics for papers. You will leave this class a better writer.

BEST. PROF. THERE. IS. As a science major, i couldn't care less about writing, but she never made it hard or boring. Her topics are broad and you can essentially write about anything, and you always stay woke in this class. JUST TAKE HER, you wont regret it.

Rose is the best professor I have had at UTSA. She genuinely loves all of her students. Not only is she the best professor I have had at UTSA, but she is all around one of the best people I have met in my life.

She makes you work for an A but she is such an understanding teacher. She wants you to succeed. Buy the books, they helped me so much!

If you are bad at writing essays.. Get ready. She will get you into shape by your first paper. Don't slack, don't over think. Use the writing center and visit her every chance you get. CHECK THE CHECKLIST YOU WILL FAIL IF YOU MISS 1 THING!!!! She's openminded and will discuss topics that many are afraid to address. She is the best.

Dr. Rodriguez-Rabin will teach you everything you need to pass her class. She is extremely accessible outside of class - by email or in person during office hours. Her bubbly personality makes writing class enjoyable and you get to have some really great discussions. She is extremely knowledgeable and is the best prof at UTSA.

Professor Rose is the best professor in the Writing department. 10/10 take her. I recommend taking her for 1013 and 1023. 4 papers in the entire semester. If you go to class, participate, write the papers you will get an A. Her class is so chill you will want to skip class but don't.

Rose was a good teacher who is very reasonable, understanding and will help you out when you need it. She relates to her students very well and is very funny. The work isn't too bad if you do what is required. The only issue is that you won't get most of your essays till later. Couldn't finish the project since she didn't grade most of them.
