Dr. Zhang is a nice teacher. Physics is not my major so i have no interest in her class, but I passed it and I was happy. I took that class due to the requirement of the school for graduation
the class is pretty easy. there's homework but it just takes the place of having to study for the midterms. if you listen to lectures, its easy. and she is funny and goes off subject sometimes and just makes the class laugh. Very Nice!!
she's funny. goes off the subject sometimes but its interesting. goes at a nice slow pace and explains everything very well.
She is so helpful if your willing to take the time, she is also willing to slow things down a bit.
She's funny. Sometimes she tells a joke about something and she's the only one that laughs, then she says never mind and keeps on going with the lecture. She likes to go off topic and tell stories about her son and her Mom. She's a very good teacher who cares, her tests are hard but fair. She will provide options when you bust a test, just to h
She is a tough lady.! good luck!
HTW-This was a difficult class, but she was a funny teacher. She has a unique sense of humor and is willing to help the students. Just don't make her mad. Do what she asks and don't try to bend the rules. She gives plenty of x-tra credit to aid those who are struggling. I would recommend taking her.
I have had a great semester with Professor Rose. She teaches physics in a exciting way and makes the class amusing and fun while learning all you need to know about physics. I recommend you take this class!
She is an awesome, fun, inspiring teacher ^^.
Rose is very helpful. Physics is a hard subject in itself and it has been my experience that she's always been willing to go the extra mile to help her students succeed, provided they put in the effort. She's been very responsive to the class's needs and was always available to help in her office, no matter how simple the question.
Her class is very difficult. She does not believe in babying her students and she will often refuse to help if she thinks you can do it on your own. Despite this she is an awesome teacher. She makes you think for yourself. Also, she is very funny.
I wish her lectures used more chalkboard and less PowerPoint. Other than that quibble, she is a fairly good teacher. Do the the online homework and read the book if you want to pass. General Physics is HARD; expect to work if you want to pass.
Rose is a very nice person and a funny teacher. She overuses power-point, but she says she has some sort of skin reaction to chalk. If she went over it in class, she won't help you anymore. She just says to look at your notes which is useless if you are having trouble understanding what is in the notes.
Rose is tough on her students because she knows that they are capable of success. She will not give you all the answers and you will be required to think. Reading is a MUST! The only problem I had was the lectures not fully connecting to the homework. She gave a lot of definitions, but didn't work out equations as much as I would have liked.
Rose is by far the best physics professor at CSU Stanislaus. The people that rate her low are the ones not trying in the class. The class is extremely difficult that's for sure, but if you give it some effort Rose will pass you. SHOW UP TO CLASS!!! The tests are hard...but she is by far the most helpful teacher and a great person...very funny!!!
Dr. Rose is a great prof. Her classes are difficult but if you study and ask questions you will underhand the material. This is not a class where you can study the day before a test, you have to stay up to date with the material or else you will be overwhelmed. Going to her office hours helps a lot. Great professor but you have to be a great studen
Dr Rose is great. She knows what shes talking about, and she really tries to make sure you understand. The material is hard, but Dr Rose makes it easy to understand.
I love the fact that Rose is very laid back and doesn't mind joking around to lighten the mood. My only suggestion for improvement is to go over more example problems rather than definitions and figures. I tried reading the book, but found that it would confuse me more because it did not correspond to lecture.my advice:perfect attendance & tutoring
I can't believe she is as old as she says! She looks great! Although the material is tough, she is a great teacher that is willing to help and stop whatever lecture she has planned to go over questions that we have. she really wants everyone to pass. She is very lenient on her grading and offers a lot of extra credit. I am so glad I got to meet her
great teacher, very helpful, will help you anytime. Truely cares for her students. Just show up to class and you will be fine. Must put in work for an A.
Rose is a really nice lady and loves physics! She wants you to do well and offers daily quizzes and extra credit to boost your total points for the class. The exams are difficult but she allows you to have a note card which is helpful!
Learned alot and very intersting class.
Physics can be a difficult subject, but Rose is very helpful in class and during her office hours. Her notes are clear and she gives good examples. She also gives plenty of extra credit assignments. Each class period, she gives the class the opportunity for questions. Send her an e-mail with a homework question and she will go over it in class.
Rose is a good teacher she I helpful when you visit her in her office hours. She gives plenty of extra credit. And she has a good sense of humor and cares about her students
Dr. Rose is awesome. The is a class for seniors so she expects you to act as such. Do your work, attend class, take notes and you will pass. If she wanted you to fail she wouldn't offer the amount of extra credit and tutoring sessions prior to exams. Physics isn't a class you can just show up to on test day and pass. I loved this class!
challenging&fun! She does not hold hands for math portion but provides tools for you to figure material out. Email her & she will go over it. Exams-hard but provides an opportunity for students attend a workshop to prepare &allows a note card! Slides make it clear what to study. Extra credit& many quizzes to boost grade up. She cares.
the class is difficult no matter who it is taken with, but she is helpful with answering questions and really cares if we are doing well.
She really cares about her students and her class. At times she is hard to understand but uses a microphone to help us hear. She will have her good days and bad days. On bad days we have harder quizzes in class and on good days we have nice and easy grade boosting ones. She really does give students lots of chance to succeed.
Physics was hard, the class was hard and it requires lots of effort and dedication. Rose was a decent professor, she tried to help as much as possible and offered many opportunities for extra credit and short easy in-class quizzes to help boost up grades. She tries hard to make sure that everyone is succeeding.
This class is a challenge, but Dr. Zhang's witty sense of humor and detailed class notes helped me make it through the semester. Dr. Zhang allows (rather, requires) each student to be mature and responsible in her classroom... she is definitely not for the lazy, novices, or freshmen. Her ability to reply to e-mails also helps.
Rose is an excellent professor. She wants you to succeed, and will do everything in her power to help you do so. Some people may have difficulty in her class at first because of her accent. Once you get used to it though, you should be fine. She has always been nothing but helpful and kind to me whenever I go to her office hours for help.
The class is pretty challenging. Attendance isn't madatory but it really is necessary because she gives quizzes randomly. HW is all submitted online&you have to check that website often or you may miss a quiz or extra credit assignment.
She is a very nice teacher. Class is a bit hard. However, she is willing to help you. She also gives extra credit.
Dr. Zhang is very helpful and a great teacher. She works hard at helping her students understand the material and also works hard to give her students lots of opportunities to earn a good grade. She is very understanding of students who are unfamiliar with physics and does her best to help those students earn a passing grade! Dr. Zhang is great!
Great teacher with great lectures. Lots of extra credits for student to have a chance to improve their grades. I recommend this teacher to everyone. She takes time to answer any questions.
Physics is a hard class But Rose does a pretty good job and explaining thing. She is willing to answer questions. Provides study session before exams. Offers lots of extra credit. She is pretty HOT! If you study for this class its not to bad
The class requires some background in physics. It's easy to follow along with her power points and the book but be sure to keep track of the sections you're covering because not everything is covered. It's a lot of information all at once so don't fall behind. There's constant hw and quizzes online and also in class quizzes
Rose Zhang is super nice, adorably funny, and she has the ability to make the classroom pretty fun at times. That being said this is a Physics class so it's going to take some work to get some of these concepts down. My advise Read the book, take notes, do the homework ahead of time just in case you get stuck, and don't miss class, she hates it.
Makes an effort beyond duty to motivate students. You will learn physics (among other useful things) and have a good time. In the interest of full disclosure, I need to say that there is no way to fail a class taught by Dr. Zhang. Unless you work the night shift (55+ hours a week) and carry a full time student load, you should do fine in class. ^_^
I'm not a physics major and this class is difficult for me. The homework is not bad, but the tests are excruciating. Professor Zhang does give a lot of extra credit, which has helped. My main complaint is that she basically repeats her powerpoint presentations word for word. If I had wanted a class like that, I would have just read the book alone.
professor was very helpful in every way. excellent teacher for this course.
First few sessions it was a little hard to understand her, but you get used to her accent. She has a good understanding of the subject and makes it amusing as well. Make sure you study hard and pay attention because the tests aren't easy and gives quizzes quite frequently as well. Overall I think I would recommend her, she is pretty hot as well.
Science is my weakness so I found this class very challenging. However, Rose gives many opportunities for students to raise their grades through easy in-class quizzes and many extra credit assignments. Her in-class lectures were sometimes unclear, so read the book for further clarification. Nice and motivating teacher, though.
Fun class she is very nice
Attendance is important! She gives out easy pop quizzes, which is nice and also helpful. Sometimes it is hard to understand her but read the textbook and you will be fine. Overall, she is a good teacher.
Attend class for pop up quiz. Is a nice teacher, but when answering the questions or solving the problems, needs to slow down step by step. Rushes through lectures and not clear on subjects to study for tests.
I had energy and matter, that is helpful for me.
Key to sucess in this class is attendence. Sit close, she seems to help those more than others. Read, Read, Read. She doe make the class fun, but at the same time course will require lots of outside time.
She is a nice person, but I think it would be helpful if she worked out more mathematical problems in class, because that's what gets you the most on the test. You have to be in class and writing notes and paying attention to do good in this class. Looking over your notes, and practicing the homework questions again, and study sessions really help
Upper-division GE. Very helpful if you come to every lecture.
You need to have some physics in high school or lower-division class. The instructor will give a lot extra credit assignment.
I have had the professor for two semesters. Physics is hard, but she is good.
Take How Things Work with her. It is fun and you will like the class.
Used WileyPlus for homework and quizzes. We had in class quizzes as well. Exams were alright. Ask questions if you don't understand something, she will try to explain. Easy going teacher. Pretty nice.
her quiz's can be kind of difficult, but her study sessions are well worth it=)...I like the fact that she gives extra credit and is ALWAYS willing to help you with homework problems as long as you e-mail her prior to the due date. I have taken other physics professors and by far she's the best:)
I aspire to be half the person she is. The end.
Very helpful and humorous professor. She walks you through the more difficult homework problems in class and offers excellent study sessions that have improved my test score from D to B. You should show up to each class because I found that the book cannot stand alone and she gives pop quizzes often. Watch for online extra credit quizzes as well.
Physics is a hard subject, but Dr.Rose makes it interesting.THE CLASS IS UPPER DIVISION SO SHE EXPECTS YOU TO ACT AS SUCH.Excellent instructor for this class. She uses powerpoint(learn while writing,so you can always go back to your notes not when instructors spend the lecture talking),short videos(helpful forvisual learners)Attendance is important.
Professor Zhang always explains things clearly and does not move on to the next topic until she is sure that everyone understands the information. I have enjoyed her class. She is funny.
Mrs. Zhang is a fine teacher. I personally don't like the online homework. I think it should be considered a hybrid class since half of the class work is submitted online. Also, I wish everything we learned before a test was on the test. It's hard to learn a section and than not be tested on it until the following test.
Dr.Zhang is a very fun professor. I like to go to her class. Her lecture and PPT is very helpful. She doesn't require attendance. I learned a lot from her class. She is a good professor.
You must attend every class to insure you don't miss a quiz (no make ups allowed). I wish she had gone over more homework problems but she does offer a lot of extra credit.
Dedicated teacher!
She led us to know what physics is all about. Very inspirational!
Very detail oriented, eager to help students.
She was the best teacher I have even had.
A lot extra credit :)
Her explanation for physics is crystal clear.
I have struggled from the beginning with this class. The only thing saving me is she has given several extra credit opportunities. If not for that, I would definitely be failing even though I do all of my homeworks and quizzes. Her accent is difficult(but not impossible) to understand
Very educational and inspiring. You need to have calculus before this class in order to do well.
Dr. Zhang is a great teacher and will keep you laughing during every class. Although the class is tough she makes an attempt do whatever it takes for each student to succeed. There is a great deal of extra credit offered for those struggling. If you put forth the effort you will pass the class.
At first I was very confused by this class. But after a few weeks I realized that if you go to class and listen to all lectures you will do fine. You must put in the work to receive your grade. She is very very helpful if you go to office hours and really does care about students. offers lots of extra credit. I would recommend taking her class!
This class is very difficult and she refuses to answer questions during class. She will not give you an updated grade so you do not know how you are doing in the class. There are a lot of quizzes given during class as well as the tests. Extra is given quite often and she does have a good sense of humor but this class overall, is very difficult.
The class is not the easiest, however if you attend class and study hard you should pass the class without any problems. The professor is at times funny and that makes the class less stressing. Great professor!
You can find out your updated grade anytime by going to her office or email her. She is very nice.
This class is hard. Attending class makes everything a little easier also quizzes and homework assignments are useful. the only thing that i dislike is doing the quizzes and homework assignments in class because it is hard to keep up with the times. Overall this class is great and the professor's sense of humor makes the class a little interacting.
I like this professor but she doesn't provide examples on the homework and doesn't explain how to do it. She just does power point notes.
Great sense of humor, but the class is hard. All quizzes & hmwk are done online, and is hard to keep up with at times. The exam results are not encouraging when you get back results way below your expectations, even when you're doing okay on your quizzes and hmwk.
Very funny & helpful!
She is willing to help by hold long office hours. Her lectures are well prepared and grading fair.
She is willing to help by hold long office hours. Her lectures are well prepared and grading fair. My level of interest in physics has increased after I took my first physics class with her.
This is a physics lab class. She gave detailed introduction before each lab session and was very helpful during the lab session on instrument as well as in using Excel to plot experimental data. She was so dedicated to students' learning. Thumbs up!
This is my second physics lab class under her. She gave detailed introduction before each lab session and was also very helpful during the lab session. My interest in lab increased after my first lab with her and I did even better on the second one.
This is a class for non-science major to get a taste of how physics plays role in many daily-life experiences. Her teaching was both entertaining and enlightening. Wish there are more classes like this.
Extremely smart, she knows what she's talking about. Her lectures are informative, just make sure to take notes! Do not underestimate this class!! My only major complaint is that the homework is online and if you are not sure of how to solve a problem, the site will not explain how to solve or even give you the answers sometimes.
She is wonderful. Take her for the F1 GE. If I had more math background, I would definitely take more class from her.
Hard, fun, and extra credit
I took the class because it sounded interesting and turns out it was! This class requires a lot of notes via powerpoint but she covers everything you need to know for the exams. Very entertaining class, would recommend to anyone interested in how things work. :)
I was scared before taking the class because I didn't have Physics before. But the result was not bad if you do all the homework and attend all the classes. I like her teaching style. Hope I will get a good grade.
She made physics possible for me. It's a great learning experience.
She is very intelligent and totaly dedicated to students. I would definitely recommend the class to all science majors.
She certainly made physics approachable to someone with entry-level knowledge in physics. Her lectures were always well prepared and office door open after the class and before the exam.
This physics lab class was made fun and educational due to the professor's well thought-out lab manual and active on-site involvement. Definitely a worthwhile learning experience!
I was suspicious about this class before signing on. But right from the first chapter, she made every subject, from weather to hot balloon, from elevator to rocket, so interesting. Great teacher!
Great professor! Always willing to help. Makes you feel comfortable and does her best to make you "love" Physics unless you really don't want to.
Always has lectures prepared and ready to go over course material in class. Homework is sort of challenging. Lets you use a 3x5 card for the tests.
I was hesitating before signing on to the class. But professor's knowledge and enthusiasm towards the learning of students led my way through the semester, and I felt it was a good experience and quite a success for me.
The class is easy if you use common sense and real life situations. She allows you to use a 3x5 notecard for every exam.
Teacher is hard to understand but she does try hard to make everyone understand, if you need help "ask her" I wish I asked for more help. She lets everyone use a 3x5 card. We also were allowed to have a tutor session (take advantage of it!) I have taken her twice, but she has a taste, I just struggle on tests. Who ever takes this class should do ok
I enjoyed Dr.Zhang's physics class very much. She did a wonderful job in lecturing and assisting students with their homework problems. Well first you need to email her prior to class so shes can look at the problem you are referring to. she gives pop quizzes to help students increase their grades. She also organized Study reviews thathelpedstudent
She made this class almost painless for me. You can for sure to get a decent grade if you work hard enough and follow her instruction.
Rose is a teacher who truly cares of about the success or failure of her students. You will not slip by unnoticed in her class, and she will take a personal interest in your success. Her lectures are not boring, and she makes even the most complex concepts seem easy. If you can take her class, do yourself a favor and sign up!
This class is not difficult if you study and do the homework. It helped that the physics club offered tutoring sessions. I recommend you attend those. Dr. Zhang is a knowledgeable and funny professor. She is fair in her grading and gives extra credit, take advantage of that too. Great professor overall.
This class is manageable if you study, do the homework, pay attention in class (for after lecture quizzes), and if you take advantage of the extra credit. Also, take advantage of the tutoring the Physics Club offers before exams. Dr. Zhang is very knowledgeable and very funny. I enjoyed her class.
Dr. Rose is an amazing professor. She only cancelled one class, which I didnt mind at all. She really cares for the students and puts them first. She made the class extremely interesting and is very funny. I came into the class dreading Physics; however, i am leaving with an appreciation of physics thanks to Dr. Rose.
Professor Zhang is very helpful when you go to her. She is willing to work with you and cares about her students. She is extremely intelligent and knows what she's talking about. She gives a lot of extra credit which is helpful in a difficult class like this. She cares about what she does and she is willing to help all students.
This class is hard by itself. but Professor Zhang is an excellent teacher. She explains things very well and really wants her students to suceed. So Read the book attend the class and do homework! Class is passable!
Love the examples given and makes class interesting.
Great teacher! Funn, too. She really wants her students to succeed and works to explain concepts thoroughly. Go to class, do the reading and the homework -- you'll do well in the class.
I took Dr. Rose's physics course back in 2003 and I still keep in touch with her today. She is eager to mentor students and watch them succeed. In addition, she teaches with energy and enthusiasm which made the class very interesting for me! You are very luck to have the opportunity to be taught physics with a high caliber professor. Good Luck!
Very intelligent and challenging professor
My interest in physics has increased greatly after I took this class. The professor's approach to the subject was well defined and her effort in helping students to learn almost unmatched by others.
Rose is excellent at what she does. She is easy to talk to when you have questions. I don't necessarily think that Rose is a hard teacher, but more that this course is a hard course.
This class was great. I enjoyed the topic of thermodynamics and Rose knows a great deal about the subject. She did her grad work on superconductivity.
I took this class back in 2008 and at the time I was a chemistry major. After this class Rose asked me to consider changing to a physics major. She really sparked my interests in physics because I will graduate at the end of this year with a B.S. in both Physics and Chemistry.
I couldn't decide between any of the sciences for a major. Rose's class and teaching methods and guidance were so helpful, I was able to conquer undergrad physics with ease. She is amazing!
let's just say that Rose is the best!!! Don't agree just look at her ratings, she is the highest rated teacher at Stan and has way above average rating :) She makes physics bearable for those who are only taking it because they have to. Extremely helpful and very easily approachable. I wish there were many more instructors like her.
Going into Physics was my worst nightmare, but Dr.Rose made me like Physics. We spent time in class on material in class that translated into the exam and she was very supportive. She works every way possible to see her students succeed in her class. She is dead on funny which made class enjoyable to go to. It was my fave class last semester!
She's a great professor. Somewhat quirky, but that's what makes the class enjoyable. She knows what she's talking about, and is willing to answer your questions. Go to class! Random in class quizzes given. Even if you never had physics before, this class isn't too bad. If you can take Phys 1500 alongside this class (they reinforce each other)
She is an okay professor, but not great and I don't get why many of you consider her knowlegde as part of a teaching method. Of course she knows a lot, she has a Ph.D. but I have doubts that she teaches well. Except of a few, most in our class did not get good grades on her exams nor know the material better; which explicitly shows how good she is.
This online class is not easy not because it's online, but because of the subject. She gives the due dates of all the assignment and quiz on the syllabus. If you follow her instructions, and don't miss any assignment, you would be fine for the tests. You should take it.
Very few physics classes have been taught online so far because of the difficulties in the subject. Prof. Zhang's innovative and diligent teaching style has made this class a thrill. You would be fine if you follow her guidance every step of the way, and be diligent.
Interesting class taught with great clarity and discipline, well organized and easy to follow.
Quite interesting class, and it's the first time I ever tried taking a physical science class online. The professor's clear instruction and real-time interaction with students have made this challenging subject manageable and even interesting. I would definitely take her online class again.
I'm not a Physics major however I enjoyed this course thoroughly, especially Physics II. All thanks to professor Rose. She's extremely helpful and funny. She wants her students to succeed but that doesn't mean its an easy A course. Students must work hard and Rose will always be there for support.
Although I am sure she is a great professor, taking this class online was anything but helpful.
I'm 100% positive that the good reviews on Rose aren't done by students who have taken her. I had her for hybrid. She was NOT quick to email back & didn't read what I wrote based on her answers. Her syllabus does give correct dates and if you do the HW and EC you should be able to pass. Don't expect help from her.
She gave clear explanation on concepts, provided ample examples for many hard-to-understand problems. I enjoyed the class although it's quite challenging.
The class is quite inspirational for those who want to have a grasp of physics. She is a caring professor who strives to help every student.
She gave well-prepared lectures, held regular office-hours, and is dedicated to helping students at all levels. Definitely recommend this class.
Interesting online class. Prof. Zhang is dedicated and she is always there to answer your questions, even during weekends.
She is a great instructor and she cares about students deeply.
It's fun to learn the real-life stuff, and you can learn from this class if you follow all the readings and assignments. She is dedicated and always an email away when you needed help. I did enjoy the class.
Knows her stuff, cares, gives 2nd chance sometimes. Expect a quiz if some people are absent. You will began to notice patterns in the class such as... - Late most days and if on time, lecture still starts 5-20 minutes after class start due to side stories or setting up mic/overhead. - lectures extend past end time and rushed at end.
She is the best professor I have at Stanislaus. I will take her class again. Physics is not an easy subject but she makes the class fun. I cannot wait to see her again in the spring.
Awesome! She is just an amazing instructor! I hope I can have her for future classes! I am a Computer Science major, and taking How Things Work for GE-F1. I would like to take her class again! Tips: following syllabus, and don't miss homework, quiz, and extra credit.
Love her students. Fun when lecturing. Insperational so I switch to Physics major last term.
Dr. Rose is a stellar professor, one of the best I've had. General Physics I and II do require effort, but if you work hard to learn the material, she will help you master it. Her lectures are well-organized and definitely worth your time, as she will often cover problems that display central concepts. She prepares you well for later courses.
While I was at CSUS, Dr. Rose didn't often teach Upper Div courses, but did teach Thermodynamics. If she is teaching this course, absolutely register for it. This was definitely one of the harder courses I've taken, but her presentation of the material (lecture, assignments, and online discussion questions) helped me understand the abstract topic.
Dr. Rose Zhang is a great professor and she deserves all my respect. She does the most to help her students pass a very intimidating course. She's an extremely friendly person. There's a normal amount of work as expected from science classes and you have to demonstrate you earned your grade. Do this and you'll be fine. You will enjoy the class!
Rose is by far the best teacher, professor, and mentor I have ever had. She not only cares for you academic well being, she strives to help you and genuinely cares if you understand the material. Not only inside the class room but outside, she is an outstanding professor, I can go on and on so to sum it up she is just an all around great person.
As long as you give an honest effort and sufficient time this class is easily passable. Like the rest of the physics department, Dr. Rose is usually always helpful outside of lecture hours. By showing continuous effort you will earn her respect and stand out of the common rabble that take the lower-division science courses.
Rose is a very smart and great professor and is probably the best Physics professor on campus. That being said, Physics is very difficult and requires alot of study and practice outside of class. Be sure to take advantage of every extra credit opportunity she gives you (and there are alot) and show up to every single lecture or you'll fall behind!
Rose is an excellent professor but Physics II was a very difficult class for me as it features alot more conceptual curriculum than in Physics I. Be sure to do all of the homework and read every chapter while also doing the practice problems. Also be sure to take advantage of her extra credit opportunities!
Professor Rose is an amazing person. Not only does she help students pass but works with you in order for you to clearly understand the material. Some exams were a bit hard for me but once I asked her for help, I understood it better. Pay attention and show up to class and you will pass. Don't be afraid of her and ask all the questions you want.
Dr Rose is a great professor and overall mentor. She is always there to help for your classes and offers study sessions for students. She wants you to succeed and it is up to you to do the work and study hard for her classes. Also be sure to do extra credit! It really helps!
Rose is a great professor, but she does have thorns. Come to class, participate, be respectful (stay off your phone), do the homework, ask questions and have fun. She tries really hard to help everyone who asks her. If you show her that you are willing to work, she will take notice. Don't be afraid to ask for help and participate. Her class is fun!
Rose Zhang is one of the toughest yet caring professors you could learn under. She is more than willing to help and guide you, but you need to work to succeed in her class.
Rose Zhang is a great professor and a great person! She has helped me so much, both academically and personally. She genuinely wants her students to succeed, so she is always there to help. As for lectures, she teaches at a good pace, not too fast or slow, and she will always give a thorough answer when questions arise. I highly recommend Rose!
Physics is not always an easy subject but she makes it fun and enjoyable to learn. It is always up to the student how they do in any class and this class is no exception. put in the work and you will do great
Rose is a wonderful professor! She truly cares about her students and sets them up to be as successful as possible. She gives you tons of extra credit opportunities and help with the homework. Loves to crack jokes in class and keeps the mood lighthearted through the heavy material. If you have the chance, take her class, its worth it!
How Things Work is a straight forward online class. You'll only see Dr. Zhang 4 times during the course unless you visit her office. Read assigned reading, watch the videos, take quizzes on time, take advantage of ALL extra credit and you're in great shape. She gives out chocolate candy when each test starts. Also allows a 3x5 formula card on test.
Took the hybrid course, but we are only required to attend first day and in class final. Offers plenty extra credit and posts examples on the online software to complete the homework/ quizzes, and two exams. Email response is quick and quizzes and exams all based on homework questions. Only issue is software is older, set reminders for assignments.
Great Professor gives extra credit
I was not excited to take physics, I mean who really is? I studied for the first exam and got a 75 I didnt really study for the last 2 exams and I failed them. I did well on homeworks, quizzes and extra credit. I got a C in the class. It is possible to get a better grade if you study and can retain all the information. The final is ch 1-10
She doesn't teach. you meet once at the beginning and she goes on and on about herself. She doesn't even go over basics or how to do the work. Then, you only meet for exams and optional study groups for the final, where she talks about herself some more. You have to teach yourself & memorize the online questions to pass. Do not take her.
The Hybrid version of this course is the way to go! There are a couple quizzes every week and a 15 question chapter test at the end of every chapter. The questions from the chapter test are exactly from the quizzes, so make sure to write them down. Same for the exams. Just remember the quiz questions (it gives you the answers) same for exams!
Took her online course, asynchronous. There is zero student to teacher interaction. Everything was done via WileyPlus. Read chapter, check posted PowerPoint, hw, repeat. Quiz at the end of each chapter 2 test. Everything is multiple choice. Hw, quizzes, and test are all the exact same questions so take note of that. Many extra credit opportunities.
Will not use school's Canvas. Makes you pay $70 to access her Wiley Canvas instead.
Easy class. Never met Professor Zhang due to no teacher-student interaction. 3 weekly assignments after those there is a test and extra credit. No zooms.
