Roseanne is a great teacher! I hate writting papers and i hate english. She made it fun in a way and took me every step of the way. If you do the work and don't slack you will get an A with no problem. She is there to help you. She is funny and she loves what she teaches. Take her !

Shes not hard--its just a lot of work--not hard work--but a lot of work--shes a pretty easy grader as long as its your own work--shes nice--enthusiastic--interesting--not very organized but thats the fun--if you like reading and writing papers--take her, if not--take an easy professor.

A great professor if you actually want to learn to be both accurate and creative in your writing, she defenitly grades based more on the student's personal improvement than on the technicality. She knows how to get everyone involved and is very helpful and attentive to student's needs. One of the best !

OK first off, she's hot! Now to the other important stuff. All you have to do is write 3 essays at least 2 pages long. The course is set up so after each essay is written, you edit it and print out a final copy that goes into a portfolio folder that gets turned in at the end of the semester. You also need to write up 14 journal entries. Easy A!

ROSEANNE IS A VERY HELPFUL TEACHER. SHE MADE THIS MONDAY MORNING CLASS FUN AND EXCITING WITH HER ENERGY. I HATE ENGLISH, BUT I PASSED BOTH 121 WITH R. GAINES AN "A" AND ROSEANNE WITH AN "A". SHE WORKS WITH YOU AND HELPS YOU TO GET AN "A" ON YOUR PAPERS. THERE ARE 2 PAPERS FOR THE SEMSTER 1 (5-7 PAGES) AND 1 (8-10 PAGES).

One of the best teachers I have ever had. I actually loved to learn in her class. She's one of the very few teachers whose class I don't mind getting up so early for. Highly recommended.

Roseanne is lots of fun and NEVER runs out of energy, like the energizer battery!!! You will learn so much in her class and have a good time doing it. She never fails to bring humor to the classroom. She will make you laugh!! She also uses every means necessary to teach each student. Overall, she's a very caring, awesome woman.

She's the greatest! I took her class after returning to school after a 17 year break and now I am going to be going full time at GCU. She got me motivated, thinking and moving. She is an amazing example of what a teaching is all about. : )

I've taken Roseanne for Amer Lit, World Lit, and Engl 122, she is an awesome professor. She's got such spirit, and an enthusiastic vibe you can't help but be interested in the things she professes. I love her to death, definitely take one or all of her classes, it will be an experience that will change your life!

Never in my life have I ever come across a teacher who actually cared more about what she does than Professor Alvarez. Taking World Lit. 2 with her is more than reading books and writing papers. She'll open your eyes to so many new ideas, many of which you simply won't get in other community college classrooms. ANYONE will benefit from this class.

Most amazing teacher at BCC. Who cares about Early Amer. Lit.? you will when you take her class. No tests, but papers and there easy, mid-term and final, all cake! She's really cool and she knows like we have lives outside of BCC! Would recommend her and take her again. Don't take if you don't like reading!!

Honestly, shes a cool lady and stuff but as an English professor...not so much. TONS of work! She says that she knows English isnt your only course than assigns work as if it were. Doesnt really explain things well. Great person...not such a great professor.

Makes you want to do the work, and I can't say that about many teachers. I always wanted the easy out: copy/paste bs topics, the way I expected things to be bc of past experience/teachers. She didn't let me have the easy way out. Roseanne encouraged me to pay attn to what I wrote, and how I was learning, and I have NEVER experienced that. Amazing.

I have got to say that Professor Alveraz is really cute. Overall, she is a well respectable professor who actually trys and keep you in-tune with the subject matter being taught. She lets you be true to yourself and lets you open your mind to new meanings upon life. Great teacher to take if you want to learn something new and exciting.

Took this class online. It was very easy and the material was interesting. Bought the textbook before the class started, but we didn't need it (she provided links to everything). There was no personal communication with her but I am sure if you e-mail her she will reply. No tests!

Definitely makes class fun and is a great class even if you are quiet, you will end up talking to everyone around you. Discussion is a must and if you want her to like you and get to know you, share your thoughts!! She doesn't put anyones thoughts down. We read about 8 novels and they all inspired me. READ THEM don't slack and don't be a cheater

(Online Class) Prof. Alvarez is such a sweetheart! She gave us all the material to do excellent work and was SO understanding about the hurricane and us not having power. One writing assignment per week (paragraph) and a total of 6-7 papers (2 to 3 pages) Really great class! Probably will get a 100% on everything if you hand it in on time.

I highly recommend Prof. Alvarez. She is extremely knowledgeable and her online courses are very fun. Every week or two you work on new material and the way you learn is not though the textbook. You mainly read online readings and watch short clips after you post to the discussion board and write your journal like a review on the module. I loved it

her lectures are hands on and personal. she makes you think about issues you never knew existed and then you have to write 2-3 pages about how you view the topic. grading is an easy A. after each section you have to explain what grade you should and why and she takes the grade you gave yourself and her grade for you and averages it together.

I loved Roseanne! Not only is she a sweetheart, but she is also an amazing teacher and person. Her class is discussion and writing based, but it forces you to really reflect on issues you may not be aware of. Hand the writing in on time and read the passages assigned and you'll get an A.

Roseanne is one of the best professors I've had at brookdale. She makes her lectures interactive, interesting, and fun. She is very passionate about what she teaches. She cares a lot about her students and always ends class early. No tests, only small three page papers and self examinations. I 10 out of 10 recommend her and would take her again

She is, by far, one of the best professors at Brookdale. Very passionate, always available, extremely helpful. I took the Women's Studies course, and I can tell you that it actually has changed me. It's extremely refreshing to step out of the robotic limbo of your typical GE courses. If you want to actually LEARN SOMETHING, she is the one to do it!

Professor Alvarez was awesome. This was an online class. Instructions were crystal clear, dates were posted far in advance. She was fair about everything and gave plenty of time for revisions. Expectations for all assignments were clearly outlined. Fantastic professor!

I took this class online. The class can be a bit challenging especially online but if you take the time to do the work you will be ok. She was great with answering e-mails, grading, and leaving e-mails. I also took her Humanities, 129 class, online as well. If you do the work correctly, and on time there is no reason why you shouldn't pass.

She is a great professor. You will probably be out of the class before time is up. Class is fun, and entertaining.

Roseanne is absolutely wonderful. She is very easygoing and lays out the whole semester so students know exactly what to do and when. Conversations are fairly informal, so participation, which is part of the grade, is easy. One group project. Textbook and supplemental readings are engaging. Roseanne is also funny and will likely inspire/inform.

Professor Roseanne really cares about her students. She makes the class as interesting, contemporary, and applicable as possible. Lots of required reading, but in turn, grading is self-evaluation. Do the readings, write thoughtful essays, and participate during discussions. You'll deserve and get the A.

I took this class in the spring of 2016. Because of Prof Alvarez and this class, I was prepared for higher level course work elsewhere. The coursework was intimidating and difficult at the time, but the experience was invaluable. I wish she taught grad classes somewhere.

Prof Alvarez is so knowledgable and so cool, I want to be like her when I grow up! She gets so excited about her course materials so do her a favor and return that energy, she'll appreciate it. She's a true academic, so don't skip on your work. If she sees you're passionate about something related to class, you reap the benefits.

Professor Alvarez was amazing! At first, you get overwhelmed (Don't panic!). She challenged me as a writer, made me think outside the box, and I am a better student since I took her course. DO YOUR BEST, she doesn't put grades in at all. I didn't know any of my grades until the final grade was posted. However, she gives GREAT feedback. Take her!!!!

Professor Alvarez is absolutely amazing! She challenges you, expands your mind, and improves your work ethic 100%. There's a lot of writing/reading involved but the reward of the grades and feedback is so worth it! She's also very kind, compassionate, and really accommodating! The best professor Ive ever had. Gives very specific instructions on all assignments so you can do well. Gives great feedback that pushes you to do better. I lived for her feedback because it is inspirational and kind. Uses prompts and assignments that allows you to focus on things you are interested in. Professor Alvarez is a model for all profs.

Prof. Alvarez is sooooo incredibly amazing. She is passionate about everything she teaches and made the class so much fun. I will say lots of reading and writing assignments, so be prepared for that. But she is not a hard grader and will help you along.
