Very hard and strict teacher, don't even think about turning in anything late, or out of format.

I thought she was an awsome teacher. And a really nice person. I found her class to be really easy, and if you had a problem she was willing to help you.

really nice teacher. pretty boring sometimes but she tries to make it fun. she helps you so much whenever she can. she only gives 5 essays in the semester, and if you follow the guidelines, they're really easy. plus she'll peer edit them for you before you turn them in. she was a great teacher.

Amber is an excellent teacher. I took the class online, and she always responded to me quickly. The literature is interesting, and she does require you to write five papers. She does not except late work. Also, she does expect the papers to follow a certain format or you will failed the paper. I do recommend taking her class.

Amber Turner was very helpful as a professor. She cares about her students and will go out of her way to make sure you succeed. Show interest in doing well and she will extend the same attitude back. She's funny and make class enjoyable. Watch movies outside of class because she'll always ask if you've seen anything good lately.

I'm taking her English 1B class now and I think she is a great teacher. She keeps class interesting and is an easy grader. Pretty much, if you do your essays on time and follow the instructions you've got a B...put in a little effort and boom..A! Great teacher. STRONGLY RECCOMEND!

She is great, really wants you to learn. At first I wasn't doing so well, but when I came to her concerned she recommended sending in my work for feedback first. I ended up getting an A in the class and enjoying the overall class.

Super nice and helpful teacher. Lets you turn in your papers early and she will basically tell you what to change to get an A on the paper. I hate writing but got an easy A, just put in the time to write a nice paper, turn it into her for a stamp of approval and you're golden! (took online class)

Awesome teacher! I took her online english 1B class. Fairly easy class. You have to write a lot of papers, but she gives you plenty of time and gives out specific prompts on what she wants you to write about. Grades quickly and gives very helpful responses. She lets you turn in papers early and she will tell you what you need to fix to get an A. :)

I agree with all the positive feedbacks here. I am currently enrolled in her online writing class and it's true she's super nice and so helpful. I have an A so far in this class. I recommend students to take her. No final or midterm. Just a lot of writing but she gives you a lot of time to write them and she will help you get an A. :)

I took her English 1B class online and it was great! As long as you put some effort into your essays you're pretty much guaranteed an A. The reading isn't too interesting but the easy grading more than makes up for it.

Took online, super easy A. 3 interpretive responses (2-pg essays), 2 research papers (4-pg), and one free essay (2-pg). No homework assignments, just weekly participation on discussion board. I got 100% on every essay and did them all the night they were due. Missed like 4 wks of DB too and still got an A. Easy easy easy A. Super nice too!

This class is probably the easiest class you will every take. She has you read quite a bit but she gives you the time to do so and she understands that your life does not revolve around her class. Her in class quiz's are easy just read. If you have any questions about her papers just ask, they are not as bad as I thought. She made class fun.

Very helpful teacher but is a hard grader. I would not recommend this class to full time students. You'll have a lot on your plate.

I was so pleased with her teaching. Even though this class was on-line, she was very quick to respond to questions, as well as very willing to read drafts of papers and offer feedback so that you could turn in the best possible paper. I would highly recommend her

She was engaging, easy and quite helpful if you needed her to be. This class requires a lot of work, but if you actually do it, you will be most definitely rewarded in the end. She is more than willing to offer outside help and is an extremely nice and relatable person

LOVE LOVE LOVE Amber!! I had her for both of my English classes. Never have enjoyed English so much. She is MORE then willing to bend over backwards for her students and help them succeed. I wouldn't have wanted to take English with any other professor. She is AWESOME! So sad I won't be having her class after this semester.

I loved this class! This class was really easy. You have discussion posts every week and a couple papers but she gives you feedback on them if you send them in early. I would totally recommended this class. I will definitely be taking her 2b class!!

Awesome teacher! Really friendly and easy to approach to. If you want to get a A, go to her office hours and ask for ideas and help for your paper before its due and plus you can message her paragraphs through canvas to see if you are writing your paper correctly. If you get 100% on all of your papers, you get a chance not to write the final paper

Easiest class ever. Reading is required, but I passed with an A without reading the books. Gradesbare based on essays. she does not read your essay and just gives you an A for meeting the page length requirement. Class is really boring, but a great gpa inflater

LOVED HER CLASS! Her content in her syllabus is great! Basically, the class consists of weekly discussion posts, five 2-page essays, and two 4-page research paper. I've always thought I do bad on my essays but she'd give great feedback and I get me paper back with a perfect score! I will take her ENGL 1B class this next semester. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Loved this class! Sylabus is very clear about assignments. Not much extra creditr BUT she excepts work early. I took a summer course so had a essay a week due. I turned in each essay at least a day or two early to get feedback. Then corrected for an easy A! At my table, 3 people had 100% who turned in early. The one girl who did not had a B.

Even though she reported me for plagiarizing, which was an honest-to-God mistake (a sentence and she didn't give me a chance to correct it!), I'd still have to say she's a great teacher. It made it hard to get an A, but I still did it. Any time I needed help, she helped me and made things 100% clear. Also, GREAT feedback helpful for ENG classes.

She makes the class totally doable and makes your expectations of each paper really clear.

I took this class ONLINE in the summer. Consisted of 8 essays ((4) two page essays and (4) four page essays.) Some of the reading is tough- poems and that sort--kind of a struggle to write 4 pages about a poem sometimes. She gives good feedback and wants you to succeed. It really wasn't too bad. Just bust out the essays and you'll be fine.

Took her during summer session. There was a paper a week, and maybe three quizzes the entire class. She always gives clear instructions for papers and is super helpful in reading over your rough drafts if you need. She never gives homework that just seems like busy work, all of it actually helps with class and doesn't take too much time to do.

Amber is such a great English teacher! I took the online class and so we had weekly readings and discussion posts a paragraph long. She assigned 4 2-3 page papers and 2 4-5 pg. research papers during the semester. She will look over your papers if you send them in early and give you her feedback and when you make the changes you'll get a 100%!!

Prof. Turner is amazing at what she does. She really knows how to run a productive and clear online course. I had an easy time with the class however there is a lot of work. You do not need to read any of the course materials, just look through and understand before doing the work.

I took her online class and I loved the readings and the discussion posts. She allows you to send her your papers before submitting and will tell you what to correct. If corrections are made you will get full credit. She's awesome!

Lots of reading tho not all too boring, at least IMO. Discussions every single week with at least one reply to another. There's quite a few papers, as long as you write about what she asks for its easy to get full grade. She offers extra credit which is great because I was able to skip the last paper of the term and still get an A. Great Professor.

Such a great professor! She really wants to help you succeed in her class. She gives really helpful tips and comments. I took her online class and she responds to emails so quickly and answered my questions thoroughly. There was a good amount of reading but if you do it early on knowing when the discussions are then you will do great!

All I can say is that I LOVE Professor Turner! She is the sweetest teacher I have had so far at Sierra College. She is so helpful and informative about what she expects. Do the readings/essays/discussion boards, put an effort in and you will do great!!!:)

I loved taking Professor Turners class. She offers so much extra help, and will even let you send in your papers early so that she can let you know if anything needs to be fixed. I got A's on all of my papers! The discussion posts are fun and not hard at all. Overall, one of the best professors I have ever had. I would HIGHLY recommend her. :)

Amazing professor! Clearly explains assignments and provides grading rubric. Also, provides a list of assignments & due dates the 1st day of class. The reading material is interesting and thought provoking. Her lectures are informative and creative. I cannot say enough good things about this professor. You have got to take her!

One of the best teachers. Yes there are essays and discussion board questions but that's the usual English class. She has clear expectations and will work with you if you have conflicts with deadlines etc. Do the work, read the books (easy reads), and loads of analytical essays.

Hands down one of the best teachers I've take in Sierra. She cares on how you're doing and gives you amazing feedback. I'm taking her online course, discussion posts and the interpretive essays are from the reading, so prepare to read a lot. She's very understanding and I'm defiantly trying to have her again in my upcoming english classes!

Take this class if you want to pass with an A. I took it online and it was the easiest class I had all semester. Just get the assignments done on time and you will pass easily. She is also extremely nice and will reply to emails quickly.

I loved this class! The reading assignments were never that hard but in order to pass you have to read and understand it. Participation is key, be sure to respond to the discussion posts/classmates. She posts your homework in advance so there is always ample time to complete. Even with missing a writing assignment/discussion post I still got an A.

Awesome professor! This has been my second class with her, and she is just phenomenal! Clear instructions, great feedback, answers all questions, and grades quickly. LOTS of reading, but it's all great literature, so the work is pleasant. She also posts supplemental videos to help understand historical and analytical context - trust me, it helps!

This class was pretty easy as long as you do your weekly essays and reading. I took this over the summer and I liked that you were able to send your essay to her for editing and she would tell you what you would get and what revisions would need to be made. I got a 100% in the class because of this.

I took Eng. 30B this semester and passed with an "A". There are many writing assignments, but provided you put in a good amount of thought/effort you are *very* likely to receive an "A". She grades easy; she is just looking for content and adherence to the prompt/rubric. Take Eng. 30B with Amber if you are an English major, you will really enjoy it

We all know that one English teacher we all hated, right? Instructor Turner does not fit that mold - she'll make you enjoy the subjectmatter! I took this class over the summer and found the instructor to be caring, and put alot of effort into her teaching plan. Rubic for grading was one of the best I've encountered.

Professor Turner is wonderful! I can't say enough good things about her or the class. I took it online over the summer and it was the easiest class I've ever taken. There's a paper due every week along with two discussions, but she will let you turn in a draft ahead of time which gets you 100% pretty much. The books are good too. Take her!

Really loved Professor Turner! Interesting material to read and write about. If you just do the HW you will pass with an Easy A. She has great feed back and has videos that further explain the papers. She is super caring and responsive if something comes up and you can't make the due date. Highly recommend her for English 1B

Professor Turner has been by far my favorite English teacher. I have ALWAYS hated English and she completely changed my mind about that. She gives great feedback and gives you the chance to fix what you did wrong. She also hands out a good amount of extra credit. If you stay on top of reading and your work, you'll get an A!

Professor Turner is awesome! This class had lots of reading (to be expected of a literature class), but she never made it feel like you were drowning in it. She gives clear instructions, good feedback, and is always available for questions. Overall, there was quite a bit of work but none of it felt unnecessary.

Easy Grader, flexible with due dates ( If you have a serious reason as to why you turn something in late). She let me turn in 2 papers a day late due to working a full time job and didn't take points off. I turned in a paper that wasn't due yet versus the paper that was due, she changed the due dates for me!!!

The best English Professor I have EVER had! So caring and always willing to help and is very understanding. There are weekly discussions from reading (easy). There are 8 papers. Four(500 words) and Four(1000 words) with the last one being optional. Her instructions are so clear, you will have no problems. I Got 102% in the course from extra credit!

The best. I was still 6th on the waitlist, I emailed her and she let me in the class. I wish I tried less hard bc she's such an easy grader! It's just your opinion all the time so anything works. Interesting topics. Weekly short readings and discussions. Super relaxed on papers, write your interpretation- get full credit! She gave me extensions too

Prof Turner was a great English professor. Her class is VERY easy. Almost too easy. She gave great feedback on the papers and answers emails very quickly. She's very caring and understanding. Since she already teaches online classes, she was prepared for virtual instruction. Highly recommend, especially if you struggle with English.

I was originally taking this class in person but transitioned to online halfway because of COVID. The in person lectures had group work involved every week that counts for points (10) so you dont wanna miss class. You just go over a chapter assigned that week. Theres 8 essays total. I really enjoyed this class. Online & in person.

Spring 2020: An absolute gem of an English professor! So incredibly caring and wants her students to succeed. Made me realize poetry ain't so bad. Disability friendly! There are not enough words/space to explain how truly amazing this professor is! After taking her class you will fall in love with English courses!! I can't recommend her enough!!!!!

Professor Turner was one of the best English professors I've ever had. She has weekly discussions as well as papers or responses about twice a month. There is quite a bit of work but that's how it is with every English class. SUCH A FAIR GRADER! I never got less than 100% on a paper and I put in minimal effort on some. Very nice and understanding!

I absolutely loved Professor Amber. I wasn't confident in my writing thanks to a previous English professor at Sierra. But Amber was SO encouraging and LOVED my writing and ideas. I received an A in all of my writing assignments. I despise reading but actually enjoyed the course readings. There is a lot of extra credit if needed. Highly recommend.

You will not regret taking her course! Her lectures are great and she cares a lot about participation, which makes the class easier tbh. She assigned 3 essays in the course and her discussion posts are very easy if you put the effort and work in. The stories we are required to read are interesting as well. She really cares for her students.

Genuinely my favorite teacher I have ever had at Sierra. She is so nice and actually cares about her students. If I forgot an assignment she would always message me and ask if I was alright and if I needed extra time. Her class progresses naturally throughout the semester and she really has you prepared for essays before they are due.

Professor Turner offers constructive and respectful feedback for every assignment. Each assignment has a clear prompt and task for you to follow. Prof. Turner is inspirational and considerate of you as a student and a person. The workload is light-moderate. I highly recommend taking any of the courses she offers.

Amber was very engaging! She requires a textbook but will search for free physical/online versions, so don't get the textbook right away. Her class met in-person for a lecture, but a majority of the work was online. She didn't assign too many assignments at a time, and was always willing to be lenient with you and your working speed.

Professor Turner is the best! She's great to talk to about assignments gives out paper handouts and posts digital copies for students. You will need two books for this course but they aren't heavy reads so it's overall a great class but don't slack off.

Turner is a great professor and personally i got full credit for every single assignment, but i never read the book. Just read her lectures and you'll do fine. Usually 1 discussion board+1 assignment every week, You build on 1 essay throughout the whole semester and that turns into your final paper for finals week. Overall easy class great teacher!

What a marvelous Professor, she took all my worries away. She has an excellent content for the course, always available, no need of a pass peer, you will get reply to your emails within minutes!! Her content covers every possible help one could ask for, clear and transparent guidelines for an assignment, no complications at all. Go for her!!!

She was great! Fair with her grading, responded quickly, course load wasn't overwhelming, and all assignments were used to build on the final research paper. Interesting writing topics, so researching and writing the final paper was super easy! She graded everything quickly & left thoughtful feedback on all assignments. 10/10 would take again.

Prof. Turner was amazing. Definitely a good amount of reading/writing, but that's to be expected. She gave amazing, detailed feedback and always graded quickly. Responded to emails in a kind, helpful way, and always responded quickly. I actually felt like a more confident writer by the end of it.

I took Professor Turner's English 1A class this past summer. While my grade wasn't the best, that was entirely due to my procrastination. Professor Turner is easily reachable and provides thorough feedback on all assignments. You can tell she cares about her students and creates a positive class experience, despite the class being entirely virtual.

Great English teacher overall. She also provides rubrics which are very helpful when trying to write for the grade you want to receive.

Professor Turner is such an amazing teacher, she's very laid back and is easy going on assignments. She understands people have lives so she goes light on the homework. Took her 8-week class online and it was pretty easy. As long as you actually look at canvas and do a decent amount of work you can pass the class without breaking a sweat.

Cannot describe how great she is. As long as u turn stuffs in, u will get full score (my case) try to show up to get 15 points with some easy works. Flexible just talk to her. 3 essays for whole semester. 3 midterms, 3 reasponse (everything can finish within short period). Recommend her, trust me. Easy reach out and relax within her class.

Simple class with rather simple group discussions and class work. The hardest part of her class was creating an essay about a topic and trying to hit the page number goal, but if you're picking a topic that you like or you can ramble on about with some research then you'll be fine. Kind and amazing teacher.

Be prepared to attend every class. There are worksheets (easy, mostly just to gain your participation in the class discussion) every class period. My grade dropped from an A to a B largely because of my attendance. She does however accept late work. Grading criteria is clear, she is accessible, and understanding. Lots of room for creativity!

I hated English so much in past years of school, but when I took this professor she's a true blessing from God to keep my GPA. I never earned an A in any English course from high school. Her great feedback made me felt motivated to do well in her class. The majority of her class is super chill and nice grader. Strongly recommend to take her.

Very fun class. Very little work in my opinion, all of the textbook content is covered thoroughly in class. I took a hybrid course consisting of two 1:20 classes a week and an online module that was very engaging. I very rarely had homework. The essay topics can be hard imo but she will work with you to get ideas and side by side on concepts.

Professor Turner was great! So nice and her class was very easy. All we did in class was small worksheets for our attendance that were very easy and outside of class the homework was not difficult. Essays and writing assignments were very easy and most of them we got to pick our own topic in a way! I definitely recommend her as a teacher.

There's honestly ZERO need of taking a support class if you take this professor. She's literally the best professor in the English department at Sierra compared to other English professors. You've got to take her!
