Tough class but Rosemary was able to help everyone through it. She gives good lectures and loads of homework. Do the homework and you shouldnt have a problem getting a good mark. One thing is that she rushes through the first half of the text.
Easy class but the teacher was very disorganized and many times couldnt do simple math, not a good thing if your an accountant.
Awsome Teacher, help when needed, gives easy quizzes and exams to help you get through the course.

She's awesome, funny and actually knows inside out what she's talking about. Exc. prep for lectures and cram sessions rite beside exams. Great sense of humor that makes 3 hr lectures delightful and informative.

If you want to get a good mark in this course, you will have to learn to teach yourself. This course is not that hard, but this teacher makes it hard. Easily gets confused, and makes lots of mistakes while doing examples. All those nice comments, i believe are done by Rosemary herself.
Don't take 4199 with her, she is very bad, no example and unfair test.
Yes, she is easy professor, because she tells you what you need to study for the exam. Yes, you can get a good grade. BUT, do you really learn anything. NO! This teacher gets confused very easily. she treat her students like they are in grade 1. you will get sick of hearing d for debit, c for credit

A very time consuming course. You need a lot of time to read over the text/memorize/understand the material. Its only easy if you have accounting 11/12 background or you are only taking 1 or 2 courses. Not so easy with a full course load in my opion. But she does provide hints as to what is gonna be on the exam.

Her exams are really easy but on the other hand, teaching is not so efficient. Getting an "A" in her class does not mean that you will do well on 2nd yr accounting b/c first yr. is just more like memorization and 2nd yr is concepts in real life. Easy going professor, lots of hints.
She is great,but speaks too fast in class that you can't get what she said.She gives lots of hints for exams, do her assigned hw.But she also request definition questions,luckily you don't need to study whole book for final...

i pretty much self-taught myself by reading the textbook and doing her assigned questions; however quiz/midterms are based off the textbook, so there are no surprises. can't mark properly though, because she'll take 2 marks off something that should only be 1/2 marks off. also talks too much, as if we're so interested in her class.

Rosemary is one of the best profs at kwantlen, shes soo helpful and always there to help you out. I was taking acct 1210 the second time and she made the class soo fun and she makes sure that everyone does understand the stuff and does alot of excercies and class. Her exams are really easy and shes always encouraging u to do better.
WoW!! Learning accounting from Rosemary was one of the best things I did in my life. She made me like accounting. If you are willing to learn , she can make this course from super hard to super easyy!! I took this course before and didnt like it at all but after I took it with Rosemary I love accounting.
Very helpful and super easy tests. If lucky enough, you might end up getting to open book quizzes worth 4% of the total mark. yes, that's what I said - Two open book quizzes worth 4% of the total mark. If you fail with her as your teacher, either you didn't study a single thing or you're a complete moron. Take her..Really!!!
Really good teacher. Easy tests. Best teacher for entry level students. Doesn't get easier than this provided you attend all the lectures.
This is a very challenging class. You have to be able to think at a very high level. You cannot simply memorize with this prof. She forces you you think beyond the text and lecture notes. She is very helpful but expects a lot. If you can survive this class you will learn a lot
She does not teach you at all and expects a lot from you. I didn't see any differnce between her class and taking corresponding classes.
Super nice and friendly & genuinely wants you to succeed. I came into the course with no acct background and did very well in the class. She made the midterm more difficult and the final easier to take some of the pressure off during finals. If I had stayed at Kwantlen I definitely would have taken her classes as much as possible.

Please don't take her. I agree that she's extremely rude and sarcastic. Maybe she can teach, but she will bring you down physically and mentally. She is saying brutal comments with smile and laugh. Please don't take her.
Her tests are pretty straght forward but shes really picky at marking. If you have one extra line in your balance sheet she will deduct marks for it... ive had accouting classes before and ive never had a teacher that deducted marks for that. She is very picky about spelling to. Where in accouting not english class.

Annoying. She's not a great teacher, read the textbook, do the homework, and study. She tells uninteresting and irrelevant stories all the time. and can hardly teach the content. Exams are fair but there is a ALOT to study and most of it wont be on the exam, M1:20% M2:20% online hw:10% final 50%
This is an accelerated course so doing the work and keeping up is a must. That being said, Rosemary is very clear of what she will bring on the exams and the questions are always straight-forward - no trick questions. Take good notes, do the practices and you can get an excellent grade
AWESOME TEACHER. MAKES THINGS REALLY EASY TO UNDERSTND. TAKES EACH CHAPTER VERY SLOW. WILL DEFINITLEY TAKE ACCT 1210 WITH HER. DO PRACTICE QUESTIONS ON WILEY PLUS THEY WILL HELP
Terrible. She goes through the notes very quickly and before you can write them all down she rips the overhead away. She tells lots of irrelevant stories and has different methods then the text book that make her notes confusing. If you have never taken accounting before don't have her as a prof. I had to teach myself half of the course material

Rosemary was a good prof IF you attend class. I would not have been able to pass if I had not attended. She is very clear with what will be on the tests and homework is a lot but it is bearable.... you just have to do it. Not a prof for someone who wants to coast through the course.
Tests are very easy. Go to class, do the wiley plus, and do the assigned homework before each class so you can check if you are doing it right. Nice lady, and an easy class to get a good grade. Seriously, if you didn't get a good grade, you either never went to class or didn't do the homework. Super straight forward
This prof is honestly useless. She goes through everything way too quickly, she goes on and on about her irrelevant stories, she should be a comedian, she laughs too much for no reason. She gives out a lot of homework, and if you dont attend class you're gonna fail the exams no doubt. Im retaking this class with someone else, she didnt help one bit
judging by OLD reviews of her, she was at one point in time a good teacher. As of 2013, she rushes through everything and is not clear at all whats to be on the exam; It's a complete guessing game. Believe me I studied HARD for all the tests and did terrible because she does not let us know what exactly to study for. Don't recommend.

I studied really hard for tests but failed tests because she was not clear. She teaches as if you have already taken Acct before. STAY AWAY!!
WILL DRAG YOUR GPA DOWN! she's very unclear when explaining things. No notes given. If you miss a class you'll miss a huge chunk of info. Very disorganized and tests are hard. Doesn't tell you what's on exams and won't answer your questions. But she's a very sweet lady!
Useless class and requires quite a bit of work such as quizzes, midterms, group project and s final exam. Quizzes, midterms and final are straight forward. HOWEVER, she believes memorizing word for word from the notes is 'plagiarism' and will report you to the dean.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH HER. She goes through material way to fast, doesn't explain things properly, and won't even answers questions for clarification on a test. Questions on the test were not explained in the class, you are expected to know what to do and teach yourself.
She pretends that the course is very tough but it isn't. Just read the book (which is a draft written by her and has a million mistakes.) Memorize the important terms, etc but make sure you NEVER QUOTE HER WORDS FROM THE BOOK. She is always looking to find students who "plagiarize" and will either hurt your marks or report you to the dean.

Read definitions out of the textbook, uses an overhead, does not use a powerpoint (although using wiley plus...), -only phone calls allowed- no emails, STRICT ridiculous enforcement of no cellphones in class -not to be SEEN & reminded at EVERY start of class and after breaks- I feel like I am in high school again. Deadlines for homework are random

If you take school some what serious and attend every single class, pay good attention, and take solid notes, this class will be a breeze for you. Online assignments have unlimited tries, so do it until you understand every single concept. If you understand every angle of the online questions before the exam, you'll fly through the exam.

To me she was not a clear lecturer. I think she gives much too much Wileyplus, and as much too much I mean it's hard to keep up with if you have 4 other courses. She is not very considerate during tests and will not clarify a question even if you do not understand. Overall I don't think she is good and I give her a fail!
Worse prof ever. She is literally ALL OVER THE PLACE. She'll read out the textbook and tell you to flip back and forth. There is no powerpoint or notes even. She scribbles things on the overhead while flipping through the textbook. She doesn't teach anything, you pretty much have to teach yourself
She's honest, straightforward and caring. It's an accelerated course with a 50% final but she really puts an emphasis on "focusing on what you know". Don't expect power points and extensive notes - theory is learned through the application of exercises and examples. Textbook is a must, attend every class, complete online assignments regularly.
First time I actually got an A+ . Wasn't really helpful outside of class but tests were super easy, both mid terms got 92% + . Would take again!
Recommended for sure for Intro to Fraud class. Her lectures make you understand the concepts. She gives lots of examples of real world and her experience. I would take her again for other accounting courses if i can. Put in effort and you will earn an excellent grade and learning.

If you show up to class, you're guaranteed a good grade. She tells you exactly what will be on the midterms and final, so there are no surprises. I will definitely take her again.
This class is accelerated but it was pretty easy. I barely cared for this class and did the online assignment last minute and ended up with a B+. She explains concepts in class, give example sheets like a balance sheets that show the formatting and and how everything should look, and tells you if it will be on the exam or not. Shes a good teacher
Shes good at explaining chapters and what will be on the midterms. She is very nice but when it comes to questions she will only answer it if everyone is in the class. She has her email and phone number provided but wont answer any of it. Only questions in class and sometimes she wont answer them because she thinks you should know already...

For acct2293 you won't find a better professor than her.
Treat yourself better, avoid her
Rosemary is an excellent accounting teacher and doesnt use extremely hard and difficult terminology. She basically dumbs things down for students which is great for an accelerated course, and she doesnt expect you to already know the subject matter. Understand journal entries early on and youll be fine.
You are expeced to know much of the material yourself. Exams consist of essay questions which I think is in the students' advantage because she marks it very generously.
Very rude professor , does not explain anything. Save your money and time, she doesnt do anything but cringey comedy. Save your GPA , dont take it
Henriksen begins the semesters by stating her goal I to make a dreadful topic as simple as possible for her students and she continues on to deliver exactly that. Yes, it is a difficult class and therefore you are both required and expected to be present and put in work to achieve the grade you desire. I would highly recommend her for this subject!
Her goal is to take this difficult accelerated class (ACCT 2293) and make it easy to understand. Lectures are easy enough to follow but because this class is so difficult you need to put in the hours after class to learn the material. I highly recommend you complete the online homework. Spend 4 hours every week outside class for an (A).
Rosemary does make this course as simple as possible. Always follow her requirements and memorize them because she is specific. She will give you the details at the beginning of the class about what will be on the exams, so be on time! You do need the textbook as she goes through questions with you in class to study later. I highly recommend her.
Shames & humiliates students in front of the class if they ask a question in class after asking students to ask questions. Gets on a tangent with it too and will shame them for 5-35 mins straight. Don't ask questions for your own safety. 50% of grade reliant on 1 exam. Acts 'wine aunt' friendly, but quick to berate & single you out. Otherwise ok
This class is a very independent class, a lot of the material is self-taught. WILEY plus provides the perfect study material for exams, exams tend to be easier than the assignments. Make sure you do them!! She also requires you to be in class via BBB. (No participation marks though)
All my accounting classes have been taught by Rosemary and she's really nice and her classes are passable. You have to buy the online textbook and program that the course is through which is an expensive mandatory added cost. I've taken 2 of her courses and I would take a 3rd.
rosemary is a good prof. i would attend lectures as they aren't recorded & assignments can be somewhat difficult & took me some time to complete but the tests are just like them. final isn't cumulative and each test (3) are worth 30% each so make sure you know what you're doing. assignments are due a day before each test which is a plus!
Practice makes one perfect. Not a difficult class for accounting students as long as you understand the concepts. Really easy to score a good grade in this class.
Class is just solo problem-solving with minimal guidance from the prof. She admits accounting's dull but doesn't try to liven it up. Missed chance for epic finance tales. also, gives 20 min breaks in an online class? for what
This is my second time taking accounting and her class is very fair in comparison to my previous professor. Exams are very fair, you're allowed a cheat sheet. Listen carefully during class because she hints at what will be on exams. Very passionate about the course, tries to make it fun and feel less overwhelming. Participation quizzes every week.
Professor doesn't do much to engage students in this solo problem-solving course. though she acknowledges accounting's dullness, she misses chances to liven it up. Unstuck ai was a helpful study tool.
It's accounting, so boring as expected. But she's a good professor who explains everything pretty well, do the work ask questions if you need.
