I had Dr. Hubbard for Principles of Chemistry. The course work was not too hard, and she is a very good teacher.
I had Dr. Hubbard for two semesters in a row. I found her very helpful and interesting.

I loved her chem class.. it made a lot of sense and she taught it extremely well!
She is a great teacher. She gets off topic a little but explains the concepts quite well. Her exams are easy if you just study the notes she gives out during lecture.
I learned very little from this Professor. She barely taught anything in class and would go completely off topic.

This teacher is all over the place on her lectures goes on her own tangents at times. Unclear when explaining things and her tests are not very easy at all. I would not advise taking her.

This was a hard class,but very informative. I learned a great deal. any A&P class is hard, lots of information in great detail. She knows her stuff, you just have to take good notes and stay on top of everything. I would recommend this teacher.
I'm not a bio major. What a crappy teacher. Rants on about nothing and can't write a test to save her life. Notes given are not consistant with tests. Beware and take someone else, shes horrible
she is an awful teacher. she goes off topic and her outlines do not match the test material, plus they are really confusing and messy. Bio is hard enough, students shouldnt have to teach it to themselves. I did well in the class only because i had to read every chapter, make detailed notes and teach myself. its not right. we pay money to be tought!

I think Dr. Hubbard is misunderstood. Yes, the class is hard, but its Bio...do you expect it to be easy? When I needed help, she was more than willing to stay after class and I also went to her office for extra help when I needed it. Show up, take notes, read, study and study. The tests are pretty tricky.

Dr. Hubbard is very misunderstood. Most people to go off saying how horrible she is probably never even made an effort to get help from her or even get to know her. Her classes are very tough but if you actually ask her for help, she will help you out. In her class, you actually have to work to get an "A"

I think Dr. Hubbard is a pleasant person, but her class is honestly least likable class i've ever taken. I am a biology major and i work very hard for my grades. I do not think this class was fair because her questions are very indirect, she purposely tricks the students, whereas in her lectures she is very vague as to what you should study.

Shes a nice teacher but is not very clear with her teaching or her questions. If you work hard enough and get good grades on her quizzes, she will take that into account and make sure you end with a good grade if she knows your trying. She gives a lot of extra credit points.

SHE'S AWFUL. Not helpful at all and is extremely unorganized. She is extremely rude. There is a quiz every class and almost half of it is information she had never gone over in the class prior to it.
So I read all the previous comments, and they are all awful. YES her class is hard, but why are you in college then? She does not take attendance but you have to go to class in order to do well. We had a small quiz every time we went to class, so you have to review your notes the night before the class. Doing well in the class is not impossible.

This is my worst college experience so far. Hubbard is a lousy teacher: she is incomprehensible, disorganized,and confusing. In addition, she is rude like you will not believe.
Endocrinology was my favorite class! Hubbard tells funny stories and relates what you're learning to everyday life. She references the textbook figures and graphs in her lectures, and I found reading the book helpful. Her exams can be a little tough, but they're fair, and if you pay attention in class and take good notes, you should be fine.
What can I say? I failed her class and now I'm retaking it. Does not use power points and she is on ten year. She assigned quizzes every week and it's poorly written. Ya... she is the only teacher that teaches this class and on top of it, we were 58 people in a classroom. Bleh
terrible teacher... i learned NOTHING from her. Doesn't give you anything to study from and just rants the entire class. you literally learn nothing and you are bored out of your mind.
I had taken Anatomy and Physiology many years ago with Dr. Hubbard. She was a very tough teacher and could scare you to death if you let her, but give her a chance and she will help you a lot. I left that class knowing what I needed to know, and was well prepared for my nursing classes! I think she was an amazing Professor.
Dr. Hubbard is an amazing professor! She is so funny and always has interesting anecdotes to add to the class that have to do with what we are learning. Make sure you read the text book for endocrinology, because all her lectures are based on this. Tests not too hard. She provides very helpful outlines, use them! Wonderful professor,a staple of MU!
Confusing and confused. You don't learn anything and you die of frustration. She also takes pleasure at being rude to people. Stay away!
I have a few things to say to those of you giving Dr. Hubbard such bad ratings: 1) you probably didn't study hard enough for her class; 2) you most likely did not read the textbook; 3) you mistook Dr. Hubbards' dry humor for rudeness/sarcasm. She seems intimidating, but she is actually very nice once you get to know her :) Plus she is super smart.
Absolutely awful teacher. She made the class a lot harder than it needed to be. She did not explain things well in class, was not available. Her tests were horrible! Not very well written. Some of them is material that was not covered in class. She is difficult to understand, confusing, boring, and especially rude ... avoid her.
Dr. Hubbard is horrible. Very mean and does not like to help students at all, old teacher left mid semester so class got stuck with her,Test very hard, and she adds on extra points to "help" students but no one does well on her tests. IF YOU TAKE HER, MAKE SURE YOU STUDY at least 5 times a week for this class. TRY TO AVOID TAKING HER!!!
Hubbard was really sweet. Must take notes during lectures, she gives a lot of information, but there are no powerpoints. Study for quizzes, they are really hard. Also does not remind you of when things are due, but she doesn't mark assignments down for being late. She does like to give extra points.

This class is not difficult. So far, there hasn't been a question on a quiz that Dr. Hubbard hasn't mentioned in class. The class moves quite slowly. That being said, she is difficult to meet with outside of office hours and does tell a lot of stories in class that are related to the topic.
Professor Hubbard is a great teacher. I know many people want power point presentations but just because she doesn't use them, doesn't mean you're doomed. She will repeat things if you ask her, will see you in her office for assistance. A&P isn't an easy topic so you DO need to some to class, listen actively and ask questions.
RUN...RUN as far away as you can!!!! Horrible professor!!!! Class was full in beginning of semester, but her lectures are utterly useless... she does NOT post notes online and flies through handwritten notes...by the end of class there were MAYBE 15 people sitting in class... none bothered going to class anymore... completely USELESS professor! The Honest to God Truth: Dr. Hubbard is a great teacher. She teaches the material in class (as boring as her lectures may be). But her weekly quizzes are what will kill you. She includes questions which she doesnt even mention in lecture! She tries to be helpful but unless you read the textbook along with her lectures, you will not pass this class.
I was pretty interested in this class before I took it but Hubbard totally killed that. She is often disorganized. Classes are frequently confusing and lack direction. She is also rude and hostile.

One of the best professors I've had. She's old school so there are no power points but she does explain things thoroughly and uploads pictures. She will assist you if you need help and is VERY respectful to her students. My interest in bio sky-rocketed after taking her class. You do need to read the textbook and study if you want to excel.

Boring, confusing, and frustrating. I changed my major after taking this course.
She is an impressively smart woman, but you will need help outside of the classroom to pass. Don't wait until the end of the semester like I did. Her office hours and review sessions are a good opportunity for extra help, and even extra credit points on the final. It's just unfortunate that her lectures get sidetracked.
Passing? Forget about it. If there was another professor that taught this class I would of taken it in a heartbeat. Hubbard is impossible to learn from and her lectures are pointless in attending. You'll never know your real grade and her quizzes will KILL YOU. Be prepared to want to rip you hair out by the end of the semester.
Hubbard is very old school but she's honestly one of the most intelligent people i've ever met. A lot of us have so much respect for her even though we struggled very much in her class. WEEKLY QUIZZES ARE WHAT KILL. The extra credit weekly study sessions are very useful. She's a great person and would be a wonderful advisor!

This class was the reason I gave up my dream of being a nurse. I failed so hard that I never wanted to take that class again. Ever. Ever ever. And I'm not the only one, either. Pick another teacher if you value your mental health.
She's not that bad. She's old school and doesn't do ppts but she's always willing to help. GO TO THE WEEKLY STUDY SESSIONS! They'll boost your quiz grades. Show up to class and take good notes AND study them. Hubbard will always do her best to help. Tbh, if you struggle with this class, good luck with the program. It doesn't really get any easier.

The lectures are poorly organized; the instructor is often disoriented and confusing. Personally, she is extremely rude and often outright hostile. Do not take this class unless it is necessary, it is a real ordeal.
I know two students who gave their dreams of becoming nurses because of this instructor, I am sure there are many more. She is a calamity. Avoid her like the plague.
Everything Dr. Hubbard discusses in lecture are on the quiz. Strongly recommend office hours. She is very willing to help and explains all topics thoroughly during office hours. Very possible to pass her class with a B or above
She is the worst. Her lectures never relate to the topic. Her notes don't make any sense. I had to basically teach myself from the textbook, which she doesn't use in class. If you have to take this class don't chose her.
Hubbard wants you to understand the material and not just memorize it. In that sense she is fine, but her weekly tests were supposed to be based off of her lectures and there were questions we never went over in class. Her quizzes were confusingly worded and she doesn't help out with her grading. Her lectures were confusing and she's intimidating.
Professor Hubbard wants to help her students. The best way to pass her courses is to go to her office hours. You can never say you never learned anything in her class.
Quizzes are barely relative to what she spoke about in class. I studied all my notes from her lectures and they didnt help at all. Her powerpoints are useless . And there are quizzes every thursday, she makes them out of 40 at the end of the semester and drops your lowest, but that didnt really help at all. Sucks bc this class is required :(
Professor Hubbard's BIO160 class is quite challenging, but the lectures are worth attending. Using unstuck ai alongside the textbook proved helpful for exam prep. Overall, a demanding yet rewarding course.
The new biology is totally different from what she studied seventy years ago. she is totally overwhelmed. she is most of the time confused and disoriented, she repeats and contradicts herself constantly. She is also rude and mean.
A lousy teacher and a total failure as a scientist. she would not last one semester at any other college. She is also a bully. Stay away from her.
