she was very mean. made students cry. didn't applaud my speech. always had something negative to say.

Great summer class. Covered lots of different types of speeches. Prof. Prisco was really interested in everyone's work.
she will give you a good grade if you write a paper on a subject that she likes. if she doesnt like the subject, expect no more than a b-at most. she very often is too quick to judge people as well. and she is too interested in art for her own sake. too many papers on art...
Well, i think everyone said what I want to say...She's a mean lady. Avoid her at all costs! I know I have.
Be prepared, show up, study hard, and pay attention! She responds really well to these things. I thought she was a really good teacher even though she was tough.
this lady is WICKED AWESOME! shes very nice, helpful and tells you a summary of the book before you take the test. Very nice lady and loves her craft a definate good teacher to have.

you know at first i thought that she was a decent teacher...thought i was going to learn how to imporve my writting in her class but i was wrong..all she talked about was MURAL ART if i wanted to learn about art i would of taken an art class..she is very rude and i was taught nothing by her.no help!
She has class favorites, usually girls, if she doesn't like you you're screwed. I did well, deserved an A but she gave me a B. Try to get on her good side, she can be mean.
didnt actually teach us much about making speeches, just gave you feedback after. was miserable when she had to actually teach, but when speeches were being presented she was fine. don't get on her bad side, and for the love of god don't wear a hat in class!
I think i might like this class, but I hope I don't like choke during a speech!!!
I was in the class for 2 days. I wrote the essay and totally don't belong in fundamentals, someone messed up my placement test obviously. I wanted to meet with her to figure out what to do, but she wouldn't do anything and told me I needed to buy the book.

omg she was so mean and didnt care whether you actually found her intersting or not. The class was terrible and the second day half of the class dropped it.
She's just all over the place. She tells us to follow her Syllabus and then dosen't follow it herself. just frustrating
She was fair but completly boring. Her classes were a total snooze fest.
Prof. Prisco tends to be overly political and liberal at times and focuses a lot on art, but if you follow her easy instructions and the course syllabus, you should earn an easy A. Just respect her and show her that you want to learn. Talk with her after class or in her office! Just don't show up to class unprepared and without your homework.

I did not like this women at all. All she talked about was mural art. So many papers due! I think she was thinkg she was teaching Comp II. She is very rude and boring. She has attitude and SCREAMS at students who ask questions. I would not even tell my worst enemy to take her! If you don't understand something, she thinks your a fool.
I thought Prof Prisco was a wonderful teacher. How could anyone put her down when she just about gives you an A. I guess none of you complaining retyped your assignments. How easy could that be!

Out of 30 of us, only 9 finished the class. Don't even bother siging up for her class.
Everyone who stayed in Prisco's class passed, but I'd say 60% dropped after midterm grades. She talked about Hurricane KAtrina a lot. She's definately bipolar or something, and she also favors, but I can't complain, b/c I was one of her favorites. But if you don't bs, you'll at least get a C. Also, you get to redo papers!
A bit weird with issues/movies, but she is an easy A. You have to do the work and show her some effort, duhhhh! Retyping papers is a plus. Like someone said, if you just follow her instructions and show her that you are a good, hard working student then you will EARN an A. I found the students who complained the most were lazy and feared work.
My major problem with Prof. Prisco is ger clarity. Many people in my class leave with a feeling of confusion and uneasiness. Papers that would have gotten a B in high school only get you a D or C. She needs to loosen up and realise that this is only junior college.
Well the class started out with about 30 students. Presently we're at a solid 10 students. I wrote an essay and re wrote it... this will be my 4th time now. When I showed her what I have been trying to say all the time I asked if all she wanted me to do was to restate my thesis. She then said "If you dont get it by now you never will" nuff said.

Atrocious. This lady didn't teach our class a thing in the few of her lectures I attended, and I dropped the class after she had the audacity to scream at me about my handwriting for christ's sake. I'm in my late 20's and balding and this lady is teaching me like I'm a 14 year old.

She was not a fair teacher at all. She was evtremely unorganized and had to ask the class what she was doing that day. Never followed the syllabus and essays hardly made sense. She automatically picked favorites, and even as one of them I disliked her. She seemed to have something against males and her grading system was horrible.
whatever you do avoid any of her classes!! She will make your semester a living hell.
Hey, what's with you guys? Professor Prisco is excellent! Sure, she's strict but after you've had her writing course you'll be able to ace all your papers in other courses. I want to tranfer to RIC and really needed to work on my written skills. Anyway, it's well worth the effort. I'm taking another course (literature) with her this semester.

I am being very honest when I rate this professor. I am an A student and this women was an awful teacher. She was completely unorganized and was constantly canceling class. We started with a full class of 30 and ended with about 10 people. I managed to still get an A but no one ever knew what was going on. Do not take her.
As a student of 1 college, 1 university, and one community college I can honestly say that this is the most difficult and cold hearted teacher around. She is very intelligent and teaches desent and she grades fair. but she treats CCRI like it is Yale and is never understanding of any situation. I would not recommend her to anyone.
I took a writing course at CCRI to get it out of the way. (CCRI is way cheaper than other places.) For Professor Prisco's class you need to show up on time, study for quizes, and handed papers and stuff in on time. On time matters a lot. She's good about letting you revise your work. I didn't have any problems with her. We were fine.
I got the highest grade in our class and I got a B. It was kind of a bummer.
Mrs P was a tough teacher but she was very helpful and understanding. I never had an issue with her. She is a very smart woman and knows her game. She is a throwback teacher but we need more like her she makes you earn your grade. I took her for Oral Comm and it was a great class.
ok so if you want to make your life hell this is the class to take! i recently took her class and all she wanted to talk about was world war II and nothing else.Most of the students would be lost in her lectures, and by the time the semester was done at least 20 people dropped it. i do not recommend her at all!
Terrible... wastes our first 3 classes because she can't figure out how to get a TV working. Then on the fourth day she assigns 10 papers due in 4 days. Doesn't follow her syllabus and always keep us in class till the hour... we have other classes to goto you know!!
This course was good and I learned alot. I'll probably take another course with Professor Prisco next semester. No complaints - wish I could say that about my math teacher (whatta nut job).

She has us reading and writing alot of different stuff. I'm getting into it.
I liked her teaching style with the movies/ clips, essays and very helpful.
She is a tough teacher and can be somewhat overboard with her expectations. I had the highest grade in my class - a B. She was nice to me and complimented my writing, I just think she can be a harsh grader. Her lessons were also confusing at times, she forgets what she assigns when and it can be stressful. She is overall okay.
She gave lots of chances to re-do work. Writing isn't what I like to do but she was reasonable.
Wasn't sure what to expect in a course with tons of writing. But it went o.k. Professor Prisco made the course pretty interesting.
Ok, So i have Prof. Prisco Sping semester 09, she is CRAZY! She spends more time talking about WW2 than anything else. The she goes on some kind of rampage and assigns 5 papers at once. The she forgets what she said to do and when they are due. Don't take this professor unless you wanna go crazy!!
I took College Writing in Spring 2009 and got an A for the semester. In Professor Prisco's class I can't get a grade better than a C. Disorganized, lazy, always has attitude in her voice when you ask a question. She refuses to proofread your whole paper. You have to pick which page you want her to proofread. Your classmates proofread them. Not fair
Oh BOY! we started with around 30kids byt he the first day 5 left. by the second wee 2 more were gone. by mid smester we had 14. Youhave to write a research paper. make sure you really research it because she won't let you swith topics. she looks at the clocks a lot. she does not want to be there is very rude and withdrew 9 the last week of classes
Took Intro to Lit and Composition I with her. I think she is very nice, however she is quite disorganized. The only very challenging assignment I had with her was to read Shakespeare's Hamlet in 3 days. Nearly impossible if you are not into his writing.

useless, i took her summer class and she always made us stay the full 3 hours, cares nothing about the content of your work only the grammer. Made us hand write in class essays, i have dislexia she ridiculed my paper and then told me i had less then hour to rewrite it on a computer, i rewrote it on the computer and she gave me a D. dont take her.
Tough but fair. I really enjoy her. She clearly is a very intelligent woman who has high expectations of others.
First of all, she didn't show up to class twice and didn't send us an email prior. She told us the wrong room number one day and didn't apologize for having us run around in circles. Her teaching method is sloppy and she's unapproachable when I had questions. A subject I truly enjoyed was ruined and I've had enough of her disingenuous assertions.
She is the type of professor you want to avoid your throughout college. Her teaching style is old fashioned, and even if the content of your paper is extremely good she will take a million points for little grammatical errors. She is pretty tough when it comes to grading ... DO NOT take her class if you suffer from anxiety or get stressed out easy
This professor is very old fashion. When she grades papers and you this you done the best job, with her she is very strick with grading. She makes ALOT of corrections, even if it makes sense. She is a very tough teacher, in both good n bad ways. If you want to take this course n not have to worry, stress or have anxiety. STAY AWAY from her.
I never learned how to write in high school and Mrs. Prisco taught me how to do it this summer. She is tough but o.k. We had plenty of times to rewrite so we could get better grades on our papers.
This professor is not helpful at all. Ask her a question and she will belittle you and tell you she already told you the answer. She canceled class frequently and would never send an email to let you know. She is a hard grader and seems to have no interest in her students unless you suck up to her.
I took two classes ith this woman and received two A- because she liked me. I learned how to research and use MLA, I guess that's what I went to class for.
she actually does not teach. she gives your essay after essay and expects you to get a A right away. no rough drafts where she corrects them like normal teachers.
Professor Prisco is a tough, but fair teacher. She is old fashioned as well. Her class is fairly easy to pass as long as you do the work, make an effort, and attend class when it is required. For her classwork we mostly read and reviewed short storied, took occasional tests, and completed about three essays.
old, rude,very very dry. lots of essays graded mostly on gramatical issues. brings up her children and friends and their well-doing, often off topic.
I didn't like this class . She was a hard grader and she expected to much . She also was always having us write a paper of the same topic. Every class we would never understand what she was saying or doing .
The only gripe I had with Professor Prisco was that sometimes she would deviate from the syllabus and then forgot. There were some classes where we wouldn't know what was due or expected until she arrived at class. Otherwise- excellent teacher. She'll make you work- but as long as you're organized and want to learn, you'll be fine.

There aren't too many papers to write, and they aren't hard. Make sure you study your grammar, though because that's what she mostly grades on rather than the actual paper's material.
This is a Literature class so yes there was a lot of reading to do. You do multiple little quizzes after each group of stories you are supposed to read so if you aren't doing the reading then your not going to do well. The class can be very dry and boring and put you to sleep.
I don't recommend taking her composition class at all. she is not approachable and her class is dry and boring. She assigns a lot of busy work and the essays she assigns are based mostly on boring topics and she is a tough grader. She only allows 3 absent days so if you skip a class you probably won't pass.
Had to take her comp class as an intro english course. My god, the reviewers are correct. Unfortunately, she is not sharp in her old age. She goes off on tangents constantly in class, not really teaching us anything. She is confusing, gives too much busy work and I really don't think I learned a thing in her class. Can never stick to the syllabus.
Be prepared to write an essay every week. Assigns grammar homework but forgets to discuss it. Then gives you a grammar test and expects you to know grammar rules she never went over. The essay topics are real simply though, even lets you write your paper again, no matter what grade (even an A-). Very dry and boring humor, sometimes even rude!
In high school I never learned how to write a research paper so I'm super glad Professor Prisco taught us how to do it.
In the class I totally improved my writing. She is old school but now I know how to do a paper so worth it. Not worried about how to write any more. Wanted show my boss I could dogood so get moved up. He needed proof I could read and write better than before. Getting raise.
The first class I had her. At first didn't really enjoy her but near the end she seemed to have gotten nicer and more understanding. Lectures were dry at times, did a few essays which is heavily focused on grammar! Shes stricter on grammar, and also gave grammar worksheets that were sometimes confusing. Overall she was ok for the course
The second time I had her she seemed wonderful, even better than the first time. She was nicer and seemed to be in a happy mood almost all the time and that really helps the class. There was a lot of reading to do but is expected for a literature class. Overall she was a delight to have once again and it was a comfortable class!
Very old schooled teacher. If you respect her, she will respect you. Do lots of grammar work sheets. Do a bunch of essays which are graded heavily on grammar. Talks for majority of class, but gives time every so often to work on essay in class. Lets out early quite often which is nice. Cracks a few jokes here and there and is really nice
She's a pretty tough grader and the exams she gives are usually about 100 questions and they're difficult if you don't pay attention and read what she assigns you. She is very nice and respectful though as long as you do the same.
Took her class and struggled through the whole semester. She is not clear in what she expects. Her syllabus only says when assignments are due with nothing saying how they weigh on your grade. I feel like I learned nothing because she assumes you already know the material. Some of her essay topics were not very flexible either. Will not retake.
I took Prof Prisco for Comp I. She gave out a million difficult grammar worksheets, never taught us anything about them, just gave us the answers. She's obsessed with the Japanese Internment and all our papers were about it. All the quizzes were 100/150 questions about very specific grammar facts.
Like other students have mentioned in their reviews, she is a very old school teacher. Was let down after pouring my heart into papers and only receiving a C because her grading is so weird. She also picks favorites which is so unprofessional especially in college.

One of the worst classes I have taken. Prof Prisco is one of the worst Professors I have every had if not THE worst! I do not struggle with English as a subject but if I did I do not think I would have done well in her class. Gives no instructions, horrible guidance, does not like to answer questions and is just rude. Grading system is unclear.
The worst class I have taken. She does not explain what the assignments are and there is nothing to follow as an outline of what you are supposed to do. Her grading is weird and it is very hard to understand what she is looking for. It got to the point where I stopped trying to get an A and was just trying to pass the class.
She is very unclear with what she expects when giving assignments. She assigned a quiz the first day of class and never told us where to access the quiz. I emailed her SEVERAL times and she responded not once. The frustration led me to literally drop the class after a few weeks. She has got to be the worst professor I have ever had.
Beside her assigning assignments and not explaining what to do on it she pretty good and does five you good feedbacks
Great teacher. Just do the stuff that would (and should) be normally expected by a professor and she'll work with you, help and grade you fairly.
