Rosemary is sweet, but unfortunately she's not very helpful in the mandatory lectures. Came into the class terrified of public speaking but she made me so comfortable. Such a pleasure to be around and actually made class enjoyable. Not too much homework. 4 speeches to do. Only tests are the midterm and final which I found answers on quizlet for. You really don't need to buy the textbook too tbh, didn't use it once.

This class is a seemingly easy class as it is just Comm 101 but this professor makes you not even want to improve on your speaking. She grades and critiques things that shouldn't matter in public speaking as they are things that can't be changed. She also does not check her email or communicates with students well.

I wanted to learn a lot from this class, but I think I'm gonna be more worried about keeping my grade up than actually learning from this professor. 1. The syllabus is 15 pages long, and stuff gets repeated over and over. 2. Her organization is hard to follow, stuff due for certain assignments that won't be worked on further for weeks upon weeks.

Professor Vohs is by far one of my favorite professors so far at WWU she is such a caring lady, and her accent makes it so much more fun to listen to what she has to say. She does everything in her power to make you feel comfortable giving speeches while also giving you great feedback to help you grow. Would highly recommend

Professor Vohs was nice during the quarter. However, I feel this class has some aspects that did not sit right with me. There are two projects in particular being stories about your personal life, and stories about family history that I found to be extremely invasive. You should not have to provide such information, let alone be graded on it.

This class is a LOOOT of assessment. Gathering books and media to evaluate, having to write 700 word discussion posts every other day with 5 discussion responses, on top of video performances, peer assessments, etc...Also, she is a tough grader. I found the content of the course to be fun, but it's a VERY demanding class.

Professor Rosemary clearly cares a lot about the well being of her students. She is very animated and fun and honestly she just expects that you care about course etiquette. Show up on time, turn in the assignments, go to office hours, just show that you care about your education at all and she will love you. My favorite course from myfirst quarter

My first professor that I had in my college career, but will definitely remain as one of my favorites by the time I graduate. Very inspirational, amazing storyteller, and genuinely cares to get to know you. Would love to take another class one day.

COMM 101 is a course I think all freshman should take. I had the section class with Rosemary and the once a week lecture with Sephanie Gomez. The lecture was simple, take notes from the powerpoint slides she shows. Then there is about 3 quizzes about public speaking that are pretty straightforward. You get to choose the topics you speak about!

I'm sure she's a great person, but Mrs. Vohs is one of the most passive-aggressive teachers I have ever had. if you miss a day you will probably fail, and she is not flexible with her grading/ assignment submission in the slightest. She is also impossible to reach via email, even at the expense of your grade, and when she tells you to email her.

Rosemary was a hard grader when it came to speeches. I understand that there needs to be deductions when you don't meet certain criteria but knocking someone down 10% for going a minute over time is overkill in my opinion.

Granted, With Professor Rosemary Vohs, I was in a very easy seminar course for an interest group. So, the workload was light, but I know that no matter the class you're in, Rosemary will make it incredible. She is passionate, charming and hilarious, truly one of the most kind-hearted teachers I've ever had.

Rosemary is great, super kind and funny. If you apply yourself, you will get the grade you want in this class. It's not hard, just go to class, and put some efforts into the speeches. Act like you want to be there, and you'll do fine.

*this is for PSEC309 which is formerly known as EDUC309* Professor Vohs is really nice and very considerate if you miss an assignment/need help understanding something, etc. However this class is sooo much work. If you're looking for an easy GUR this is not a good fit. I have done more work for this class alone than my others combined.
