lectures are somewhat helpful if u read the book before, and after. when asked questions in lecture, she makes u feel stupid. heard she made a couple girls cry during office hrs. started being nice when her job was on the line.
by far the worst professor ive ever had... i hate her with a passion
By far the worst teacher I have ever had. She has the most unprofessional manner in dealing with her students. She is very sarcastic, rolls her eyes at questions, calls students remedial, and also said "Bite Me" to one of her students. I hate he
At first the class was ridiculous, but I have to give her credit, she slowed down, and explained things better. Ive never found her to be mean or sarcastic, ive had a good time in the class
She was always condescending towards her students if you asked questions in lecture. She'd make fun of you for not knowing the answer. Definately the worst professor I've ever had!

Horribly painful course that should not be taken unless necessary.
she is the devil...enough said
Not a very helpful teacher, mean, not helpful. I learned more from the teacher aide. She went to fast, talked down to students, called them stupid and generally was rude. i ended up with a B but i think that was because of the tutor provided by the school

This class is ridiculous...not because Georgiadis doesn't try. I have to admit that she has made solid efforts to help us learn. However, she just doesn't have it. She does not know how to teach at all. I feel like this class is another high school class. Homework, Popquizzes, etc.
I HATE THIS WOMAN! Her lectures are boring and irrelevant. I don't like chemistry and she made it worse. I think everyone in the class does the daily crossword instead of notes. She sucks and is boring. I'm very sorry if you have this class.
I've never liked chem to begin with and thought that in college I would enjoy learning it. Absolutely NOT!! She's a horrible teacher and makes the easiest thing sound so difficult. She seems to hate students and teaching, why is she a professor then???
While lectures are hard and unclear if you visit office hours she is a very nice lady and will do almost anything to clarify things. The tests are clear and very fair. If you do the homework and take the quizzes the tests are usually directly from them. NICE!
Don't bother going to lectures ~ it doesn't help ~ makes easy concepts seem hard ~ mean in lectures ~ TF is bad as well ~ what u expect to be on the test won't be on it ~ i sugest to learn from the book + get a tutor or a smart kid to help u ~ u do get to drop 1 test ~ avoid this class if u can ~
AFFUL class/professor. Unbelieveably hard. She did make some serious efforts to help us and make the class easier, but she is just NOT professor material. She's too smart to do intro to chem. Couldn't explain things. Got nicer as time went on, though, ok in office hours. Study quizzes for tests.
While the material is tough, and lectures can be confusing, she is extremely kind and helpful. If you go to office hours, she explains material extensively and you will do well. She is a very smart lady and willing to help, but you definitely have to seek her assistance.
She doesn't make sene in lectures, gives more homework that she can grade, is not prepared for class, and does not lecture in a coherent way. She is under the impression that pchem is the only class that everybody is taking.
Don't expect higher than a C.
As a person, she is friendly, but as a teacher, she is horrible. She shows up to class 15min late. Her lectures barely skim the meat of the material. Everything that is learned is by the text and not her. She leaves her mathematical derviations half done and skips to the next part without explaining the jump. She just cannot break the concepts
It seems that she is well known on campus for being a horrible teacher (banned from teaching CH 171?) so now we got her. The class is, of course, absolutely ridiculous. She cannot explain anything in a coherent way. Her lectures are only about things that we "don't have to know". If at all possible, do not take any class with her.
BAD! Her lectures are terrible, and she complicates easy material. Disorganized (she showed up 10 minutes late to our midterm) and unable to teach. If not for the AWESOME help of ROB HARRIS, I'd just stab my eyeballs out. Take classes with Harris- can't recommend him highly enough.
Horrible teacher. Not much to say that hasn't already been said - she manages to complicate things much more than needed when she explains them and her entire lecture seems to be one long run-on sentence. If you're in her class, expect to learn everything from sources other than her lecture.
CH109 is hard enough as it is, but she makes it even more difficult with her estoric lectures. She makes the simplest problems hard and it's absolutely frustrating. To make matters worse, she seems equally as lost as the students half the time. I am a BMB major but this first chem course has forced me to rethink my major.
People expecting her to spoon feed the material to them should not take this class. She seems uncertain about her teaching style, but if you read the chapters she's an effective teacher. She's very helpful in office hours, and takes questions whenever you need help.
All I can say is WTF.... and why did our chemistry midterm involve WWII ?
This woman has no ability to convey information, lead a team of teachers, or create effective assessments (tests). In other words, she is totally unqualified for this position. Her ignorance and complete apathy towards the quality of class is astounding.
It is very obvious that she knows the material she is teaching. Yet, it seems that she has a hard time "watering down" her intelligence to a level that the students can understand. Her lectures tend to "wander" from point to point, rather than traveling, a straight logical path. Big on real life application and history.
Not nearly as bad as everyone makes her out to be. If you actually read the material and keep up with studies, you'll be able to understand the lecture much better. Her lectures could stand to be more organized, so you can get lost if you haven't been keeping up with the reading. Far more helpful on a one-on-one basis, so go to office hours!
HE SUCKS~ not worth taking her class. Try as hard as possible to avoid her! She is terrible at lectures, gets confused and explains it incorrectly. At times she asked the students to remind her because she was confused. Go to lectures because she sometimes gives pop quiz and attendance, if not for that .. dont!
Please, just dont take the class. She is the worst professor I have ever had in my life.
Hey, hey, here's something ... y'all ever heard of READING THE BOOK? (that goes for some of the idiots that have posted earlier). No, she's not the best prof in the world .. but she knows her****. Read the material, go to her office hours and Rob's (or whoever your TF is) and yout will get a REALLY EASY HIGH A in this class. Class recommended
Her lectures are incoherent. Read the book and go to office hours, it's the only way to learn the material. Go to lectures for possible significant announcements, but you probably won't get anything from them otherwise.
prof. rosi has taught me that "chemistry is magical". she stares/ smiles at all her students in a creepy way and we have a tally system for how many times she does this, i'm winning. she has the gift of making whole lectures of students fall into a stupor while teaching nothing. reading the book helps if u r literate, but she wont b/c rosi=poop
Ok first, she had some bad lectures some ok lectures and some good lectures. Overall she isn't that bad. She cares about the students and went to a lot of work to make CH109/CH110 better. She just needs a little practice with her lectures to see what works and what doesn't. I definately recommend going to lectures because they are helpful.
she knows more than God about physical chemistry. make sure you study your @ss-off and attend every single lecture. she is very nice and will help you. lectures are deep, so make sure you brush-up on your quantum mechanics!
I am sure she is a good person, but she is definetly not a good professor. Her tangents and unorganized lectures make following the material difficult. She never seems to get her point across. Favorite lecture: a student asks, "What are you talking about?" Her response: "Exactly, what am I talking about?"
The class has a rep for being tough, Georgie has gained a reputation for being extremely incoherent, and sitting through her lectures (particularly quantum-related lectures) can be borderline hellish. But remember: you are in the same boat as 160 other kids (think curve), and with some sweat you can EASILY pull an A-.
She's not super bad, but the lectures can get confusing because she likes to talk about the topics in a different order than the book. Discussion and Office Hours help a lot. She also curves to a B- so if you read the book and do the suggested problems its really not to hard to get a B or A.
She is pretty much an awful lecturer-- just read the book and your understanding will increase manifold. Her tests are fair but they aren't breezes-- in all likelihood you'll mess something up that you know by heart. Don't get a false sense of security from her curve, it's generous, but not THAT generous. Oh and your participation grade COUNTS!
I like Georgie - her lectures can get confusing, as she does go off on tangents. It's really down to the TA for clarification, and even that can get tough. I really didn't work too hard and I made it with B (I did well in lab). Do the HW problems to understand material - use book! They have (and use them) plenty of office hours - good person though
This lady is the most boring and useless professor that I have ever had. She just rambles on about nothing that has anything to do with the subject matter and puts everyone in her lecture to sleep. She is horrible at explaining things and gets annoyed when people ask her to clarify things. If you can avoid her, I would definitely suggest it.
Her lectures are all over the place and pretty much impossible to follow. She likes to focus on one thing for an hour and another for two minutes. The class would have been a lot harder without a good TF. Be prepared to put in a lot of work outside of class. All in all, she is crazy but her class was fair.
Either you will get her teaching style or you won't. Even if you do, some lectures will just be hopeless. The Blinder book is useless at times, so make use of the McQuarry and Atkins books in the library. Exams aren't too hard, but she's vague with her grading.
Worst professor I've had at BU thus far. Lectures are useless and people don't show up. Because of this, she once gave 4 pop quizzes in a row. Tests are straight forward. Probably because she can't come up with harder problems. You will question whether she knows what she is saying. Elliot is a god and Georgiadis is as far from one as possibl
She is a terrible professor. She feels the need to remind you what day it is every single class as if you showed up by mistake. She constantly makes mistakes and doesnt seem to know what is going on. She actually said that many of the students would know more about what she was lecturing on than she did. Avoid her.
Avoid taking a class with Georgiadis at all costs! Chemistry is my favorite subject, but i absolutely hated it this semester because she was my professor. She is extremely disorganized, her lectures are useless, and she seemed like she had no clue what she was talking about. Her tests are also very unpredictable and the format was always different.
Worst professor ever. Lectures are very disorganized and often times she needed help from the T.F. to clarify concepts in lecture. Make sure you understand everything in the chapter. She was pretty good with telling you exactly what sections were going to be covered on the test.
The most arrogant woman you will ever encounter. She has no idea what she is lecturing about. I had to correct her during lecture four times, and I was one of the quiet ones.Office hours are useless-took her 45 minutes to explain ONE problem from the exam b/c she kept making mistakes solving it. May the lord be with you if you take this class.

She had good intentions, but in execution she is a poor teacher. She understands the concepts but can't really teach them in a way everyone understands. We rushed through material to cover more, but that means we didn't learn it in detail and had to teach ourselves the material. Even the TF would get frustrated with her explanations.
Terrible professor. She thinks that just because she has a PhD she can teach. She puts really esoteric questions on the attendance quizzes such as "what is the name of the statue in this chapter?" It's a chemistry class! AVOID
Ok... honestly, maybe if she could do simple math, I could tolerate her a bit more. But the fact she expects so much out of us and CANNOT even do the damn TEST problem without making mathematical errors left and right says a lot about her. Also make sure you go to discussion, DeSensi will be a savior, and WILL be the reason you pass the class.
I don't recommend this woman. She comes off as very condescending and unhelpful. Not much of a lecturer, either. Going to class is useless, but I recommend attending because she often gives quizzes to check for attendance. Her tests are fairly straightforward, just remember to attend discussion and find time to practice problems before exam.
Georgiadis is a horrible teacher and incredibly arrogant!! She has no idea what she is saying and her lectures are useless. She is late to class and sometimes doesn't even show up. Beware of frequent pop quizzes. Just do all of the HW problems and you will survive her craziness.
i never thought a woman like her could become a professor. she constantly makes mistakes, her lectures are disorganized, and her voice is painful to listen to because she's so arrogant. however, a few times she's been surprisingly reasonable about grading. the lectures are not very worth going to, except she often gives annoying quizzes
So we got our second exam back, average was a 40...Standard deviation of 26. She blamed the low average on us!
This professor is an absolute mess. There are no other words to describe her. Not only can she not teach, she can't even read her own notes. What kind of Ph.D professor can't write a properly balanced equation? She covers basic concepts in class but gives complex exam questions. Not worth it, not worth it at all.
Well she gives me hope, if she can become a professor, then I can become anything I want. I've never seen a Ph.D make so many mistakes in my life. Not only can she not write an equation properly, but she can't even explain concepts properly. In class, simple concepts are taught, on the exam, beware, there are only 5 questions.
Really good at explaining physical chemistry during office hours. Problem is she cant teach general chem. Uses the word "you" too much in conversation. "This is what YOU did wrong...This is what YOU dont get or what YOU are doing wrong" which makes you feel stupid. Dont take her classes.
RUN AWAY FAST! DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSORS CLASS! She is so incredibly arrogant and condescending that she makes you want to die just so you dont have to hear her voice any longer. She does not know her stuff and cannot teach. She makes mistakes left right and center. It is safe to say she is a terrible teacher.
Wow i dont need to say much because every comment is dead on. I think she is a nice lady but makes the topics more confusing and its pointless to attend class but required. Everybody in the class was dumber after listening to her "teach".
I had Georgiadis my freshman year. She was a pretty terrible lecturer, but her exams were easier than Elliot's. Regrades often resulted in extra points. I accidentally missed an exam once and she was kind enough to let me take it, which I really appreciated.
Do NOT take her lecture. First of all she is really dumb. Yet, it is remarkable how condescending she can be. She is very rude to students who answer questions incorrectly. If it weren't for the mandatory lecture quizzes, I would not go. I would recommend taking 109 instead, because 101 is tedious with too much pointless homework and bad professors
This professor is inconsistently helpful. She often makes circular descriptions that seem to contradict each other. Often appears unprepared due to many mistakes with examples. Severe trouble with technology. Look for another lecturer if you can. Abrams is very entertaining but class is difficult no matter your professor.
She's a wild woman. Gen chem requires a lot of work but she's not as bad as many people think. The online HW is the most helpful tool and missing a lecture here and there won't destroy your chances at doing well.
She is crystal clear in her lectures. Helps everyone. Will take her class again the next semester.
DON'T CHOOSE HER ANYWAY!!!!!SHE IS THE WORST PROFESSOR I HAVE EVER MET....
She doesn't get to the point oftentimes when she's talking. She loves repeating herself even though people understand the first time and ends up confusing others. She sometimes doesn't understand your questions. She tends to go really slow in lecture and goes off on tangents which get annoying and boring.
She can often be contradictory when she says your answer's word choice is incorrect and then uses the same words later. Having learnt most of the material before, I personally didn't feel too lost. However, her lectures can be repetitive and confusing. She is not great at explaining simple basics, but very good at the quantum stuff.
Terrible lectures - gets very behind so you won't cover as much material as other sections which is a problem both in your discussions sections on tests. Can't stay on track or answer questions clearly. If you don't do something her way, she doesn't think it's right, even if you got the right answer. Clearly does not want to be teaching gen chem.
She was not the best at first, and confused the whole class many times but she ended up improving but still not that good.
She is the most horrible teacher I have ever had. She cannot teach, and usually has no idea what she is talking about. She stops mid sentence because she realizes that what she is saying is wrong. Do not take her unless you really have to.
Worst professor ever, doesn't explain anything just expects you to know the topics.
honestly the worst professor ever. Talks to fast and often confuses herself. Doesn't finish half of her sentences. Not clear about anything
Because the course was on instrumentation, her specialty, she was really into it, knew a lot, and was very good at explaining the concepts. The tests weren't bad; they were just what was covered in lecture. Being a lab class, the work was in the lab reports, which weren't that bad, and the labs weren't bad to do either, rarely taking the full time.
She is very knowledgeable, just not capable of explaining anything. Every time I went to lecture I felt like I unlearned things I had previously understood. My advice: don't listen to her and you will be fine.
She is a very smart lady but does not know how to dumb topics down for her students. She gets flustered all the time & derives formulas wrong. She is not afraid to call you out in class & embarrass you. Less than 50% of the class gets the clicker questions correct. There are about 530 students in the course in total & only 66 in HER lecture.
Though she occasionally made missteps and had trouble explaining things, she was quick to correct her mistakes. Always there for extra help and extremely dedicated to helping if you go to office hours. It's a tough class and a lot of the blame for people's difficulties falls on her.
The professor can be painful for students who feel like they have a good grasp on chemistry but students who struggle with the subject seem to enjoy her teaching style. She struggles with technology in the classroom and this can hold up the lecture.
Has a talent for making simple concepts difficult. I suggest you make friends with the tf and live in office hours. It's sort of like cheating because you're not doing anything on your own, but that's the path you need to take to do well (especially if you didn't already learn most of it in high school.) It's even called 'hard work' around here.
If you're taking CH101, be sure to find a professor that knows how to "dumb down" the subject a little more. AKA, I do not recommend her as a professor for a subject as complicated as chemistry. She makes many mistakes, consequently confusing students and IS NOT helpful at office hours. She's a nice person, but not the ideal professor.
I hate this class and mainly because of the way she teaches. I would recommend any other professor. BUT DO NOT take her. I had one class covered by professor Dill and I learned more than I ever did in all of her classes all semester. This course has so much work. She's a great person but a horrible instructor and educator
You'll see a lot of comments on here calling her a bad professor and I don't understand. I truly loved her as a professor and I am taking her next semester again for ch102. She pushes you to work hard but in the end it's worth it because when tests come around you know all the material. I think most people don't like her because she pushes students
She teaches very linearly, it's as easy to follow as chemistry can be, and she's funny! I have never once fallen asleep. She does not make fun of students for asking "stupid" questions, and tries to answer each question to its fullest extent. She explains concepts and starts students off before asking them to try and work through a problem.
She gets a bad rep. Is she the greatest professor? No. However, she does do a decent job of explaining concepts, if you pay attention. She tends to use verbal responses and hand motions to explain concepts, rather than drawing on the board; this is why some people do not like her teaching style. But she's just as good as Dill, if not better.
Awful teacher and rude at office hours.
Good researcher, ok person, terrible prof. Problems with tech (mics and powerpoints) plagued literally every lecture, answers questions with questions, doesn't finish half her sentences, often says things that are incorrect and only realizes when called out. Maybe if you love chem and you're great at it you'll love her, but for anyone else-DON'T!
She is not helpful at all. For someone who had credits for this class but still chose to take it anyways, I had difficulty understanding the things she taught. Very poor, not suitable to teach a complicated subject like chemistry.
CH101 is already a hard class but Georgiadis makes it even harder. I had to watch other professor's online lectures during the whole semester so I could understand the material.
DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS. Especially if you do not have a strong chemistry background. Plus office hours do not help.
I'm a freshman and barely hanging on, enter this prof who takes up the whole lecture to ask two quiz questions and then not even bother to explain how she got the answer, following that she takes up the remainder of the time to explain or "talk about" some trivial/easy subject like the shape of a molecule...
The lectures were hard to follow and left me even more confused than when I got there. I went to office hours and was told I was going to fail (I guess she was right lol) also can be a little rude/condescending when helping.
CH101 is hard no matter who you take. Georgiadis isn't the best professor, but she's completely fine. Most learning is done in discussion, and lecture is mostly to explain concepts before you apply them. She's completely acceptable, and I would rather take her for CH102 than Dil. You have to try to get a good grade, which people don't like.
Some people are gifted teachers and others aren't. Professor Georgiadis is a strong example of the latter. She is an incredibly intelligent woman, but cannot teach for the life of her. The reason she is a teacher at all, much less at BU, escapes me. She absolutely cannot explain things, is never prepared for lecture, and is overtly rude to students
most professors will say that "A" leads to "B". Prof. Georgiadis takes her students on an adventure; she will go from "A" to "G" to "R" to "X" to "Z" and back to "H" and then to "E" and maybe you will get to "B" if you are lucky
Georgiadis is caring, never condescending, super funny. She sometimes struggles with technology or makes mistakes during lectures, but is quick to correct them. CH101/102 is hell, but its not her fault. Will sometimes literally give you the lecture quiz answers and will try her best to explain difficult concepts to you outside of class.
I had Prof Georgiadis for both semester CH101 and CH102. She was a lot better during CH102 because our class was smaller. She actually took a lot of time to explain topics and i agree she will help you a lot with the lecture quizzes that Dill makes. She works better with fewer people, so if youre struggling, go to her office hours.
CH 101 is hard and she doesn't make it any easier. I had her during the fall semester and eventually had to drop it and retake it during spring. Nothing changed in my study habits but I went from almost failing to getting an A-. The difference? The teacher. She's intelligent she doesn't present concepts well and often contradicts herself.
Personally failed almost every single discussion quiz and got a 37% on an exam and still ended up with a C+. She isn't the best at explaining things, but if you go to her office hours she will try her best to make you understand a topic. If you don't naturally excel at chemistry it is important to use every single office hour and resource available
You would think that having personally designed this course and teaching it for years, Georgiadis would be an amazing lecturer - unfortunately, she isn't. Avoid going to her office hours - she'll just trap you there for hours, making sure to subtly belittle your intelligence. She gets angry at you for following the TF's instructions as well.
Absolute worst. Can't teach for her life. She teaches CH109 Prelab and is supposed to prepare us for lab. Instead she rambles on for the 75 minutes about anything except lab. She had talked about Greek olive oil, unrelated chemistry, and things way over our head. She uses TopHat which counts as participation, so go to lecture. Would not recommend.
Also had her for CH109. Still terrible. Georgiadis does not teach in prelab and obviously does not communicate with TFs, the grading is so unclear and unfair. Never any feedback provided. Go to prelab in case there are TopHat questions, which is a program she can barely use. And don't go to office hours she just rambles and makes you feel stupid.
One of the worst classes I ever took. Class average was always in the 40's. She told us she can and will fail us. She did hold office hours but was rude to students. At the end of the course she did curve grades but very stressful and learned almost nothing!
CH303 is the most frustrating, disorganized class I have ever taken. She does not effectively communicate assignments which always leads to much confusion, there is no syllabus, and lab procedures are often not uploaded until less than an hour before the start of lab. The one plus is that she is very flexible about deadlines and extensions.
Horrendously disorganized. It's a day before my final and we still have no syllabus. She expects you to read her mind and know that she uploaded something up to the cloud. When you ask questions during lab, the answers change constantly. This is both the worst class and worst professor I've ever had at BU, and I usually do well in chemistry.
Really disorganized class. I liked the material taught in CH303 a lot I just wish it was taught differently. The lab skills that you learn are actually useful for getting internships/jobs, and the class isnt really hard at all... just annoying
Condescending and rude. Inconsistent with grading. Goes on 45 min tangents about simple questions. Will keep you in OH for hours. Does not know how to work technology. Lectures are boring and irrelevant. Labs are long and repetitive. Expects students to turn things in on time while she cannot do the same. More like a 4 credit class than 2 credits.
Honestly, I have no clue what the point of this class is. The worst organized class I have ever been in...
Just don't. I still do not know what this class was for. It is utterly useless. Super disorganized and did not teach anything.
Worst of the worst Unprofessional associate professor asking students to be professional
WORST professor at BU. Never gives feedback. Her labs and lectures are very disorganized and unprofessional. All gradings are by preference and without any rubric. She is rude and condescending and never responds to emails. If you are Asian, don't think about taking this course. RACIST. CHEM department needs to examine her behavior in the course.
The worst professor at BU. Disorganized labs and lectures and unprofessional teaching behavior with serious racist actions. Never give useful feedback. Her grades depend on her preference for students. No matter how hard you work and even though you follow all instructions she said, if she dislikes you, you won't get a fair grade. Chose CH354,301.
The way she explains concepts and grades things doesn't make sense, but the grades usually work out in the end. My best advice is to ask a lot of conceptual questions about the lab and material because her grading seems to be more generous when she knows that you somewhat understand the material.
Makes you feel awful for having the audacity to ask a question. Her pre-lab lectures were long and often didn't really relate to what the lab was ultimately about. If you have a chance to have literally ANYONE ELSE as a lab TF, take it and thank me later.
Rosina's class can be a bit disorganized, but with some effort it pays off. unstuck study and ChatGPT were lifesavers for study prep. Stay engaged, and you'll get a solid grasp of the concepts.
She was the only one in our lab section overseeing and would take extremely long coming up to students and I was nervous to even ask her a question in lab in fear of being wrong. Does not explain concepts well. I would 100% recommend finding another lab professor because this will make chem more miserable than it already is
I enrolled thinking Keying Chen was going to the teacher and was horribly wrong. From day one she has had a passive aggressive attitude, and many of us feared asking a simple question.
Georgiadis spent on average 30min yapping in the beginning of class. Not that helpful during lab, she would be angry at people asking her questions.
