I love Bro. Baron. He is really passionate about what he teaches and it really shows when he gives discussions. All you have to do is go to class, listen, and do a journal every two weeks to get an A. He also offers 75pts of extra credit. Amazing teacher, amazing man.

He has a great perspective and really gets students excited and encourages participation. It's impossible to fall asleep in his class or ever want to skip. GET THIS TEACHER!!! This guy is the biggest G ever. He always taught with the spirit, made his lessons so funny, and loved to tell stories. Some class periods seemed like they were a good 60% stories! It is not hard at all to pay attention. And his stories aren't just meaningless ramblings; they all had a special meaning and purpose to them. =)

The work load isn't bad at all, and the assignments are very helpful and helps you understand the scriptures better. Keep up on the reading and do the assignments and you'll be sure to get an A+ in the class as well as a stronger testimony! He's AMAZING!

I had him for Ethics & logic. Coolest teacher ever! Very smart. Hilarious. Fun as heck to argue with & totally doesn't mind us arguing & questioning his knowledge. Logic you need to do the homework to do well on the test. You can argue back points. It's not an easy class but it is possible to get an A. Ethics is tough too. But I recommend both.

DO NOT MISS A SINGLE ASSIGNMENT! He does not do late work period, no matter the reason. Great Teacher though! Very Brilliant. 2/3rd's way through the semester and still haven't had a test or quiz, but assignments are weighted heavily. Be prepared to get grilled if you say something stupid.

brother baron is a former jew so he knows his hebrew pretty well. the class is not a cake walk like other religion classes. your actually learning how to translate the old testiment from hebrew into english. make sure your able to put as much energy and time into this class as you can. i really enjoyed it and brother baron is a tov tov tov teacher.

if you have already taken the hebrew I class and did well this class is fun. there are no vocab or grammer quizes just translating. but do not take this if you have not taken rel301H. if you do you will fail. the H stands for hebrew not honers.

He is an incredibly funny teacher. There are a few hard assignments every so often, but as long as you keep up with the blogging, and the assignments, it is a very easy and relaxing class. He tells a lot of fun stories related to the topics we talk about. If I get a chance, my next semester I'm taking the second half of Book of Mormon from him.

The easiness level is what u make it. There's practicums, & scripture journals: great assignments where u get out exactly what u put into them; he lets your feelings dictate how u do the assignments. There's so much potential to learn and grow in his class. I'd recommend any class by him for, for I'd take any myself! Only class I wished was longer.

He knows the scriptures like the back of his hand, and understands the gospel like you wouldn't believe. His classes are my absolute favorite to go to - they NEVER get boring. FD Capstone was great. I learned a lot from Bro. Baron, not difficult if you are okay with participating in class and doing some research. It is a very constructive class. He has some issues with grading, I think because TA's do it all.

Oh my goodness. I loved Brother Baron! Each day I left his class feeling like I really got something out of it. I always felt good and ALWAYS learned something new. He gives projects every 2 weeks. Some may say they're hard, but you just have to set aside time to do it and in the long run, you're getting more out of it anyway. Take him!

Brother Baron is certainly knowledgeable. The class is taught like a graduate level course (all class discussion), the rest is made up of papers, readings, and writeups. For the philosophical enthusiast, this class would be completely delightful; however, if you're not too keen or familiar with philosphy, then the class may not be for you.

I felt like class was stand-up comedy session at times. Great guy, but I didn't feel like he had very many points for us to take home each day- like things he was actually going to teach us. He knows a lot, but the class discussion was way too open and often took us on lots of tangents. I would recommend another teacher, but he's a good guy.

Baron is an engaging teacher. Get into the subject of the class and you'll do absolutely fine. He's fun to butt heads with and will respect any opinion as long as it's well thought out. Teaching is his life, not just his job. Remember that before you start to come across as not caring about the subject. I've never felt more respected by a teacher.

Ross Baron is a fantastic religion teacher. His class was fairly easy, which was nice for a two credit class. He is very good at making students feel comfortable and in getting the entire class to engage. He is one of the most fun teachers I've ever had. He does go into pretty deep stuff occasionally.

This is one of the best religion teacher I know anywhere, he has the best insights, very respectful of students, loves his job and makes you laugh all the time. Take note his attendance is VERY strict policy and his assignments can be a little over the top hard. but still worth it for what you gain.

At first, I did not like the way Brother Baron ran his class, but after about a month, I got used to it and now I thoroughly love going to his class. Capstone is interesting, but it's only interesting if YOU comment and Brother Baron makes a big deal out of participating because that is exactly what a debate-type class is...you need to speak.

Mr. Baron is an excellent teacher! Dont take this class if you want to be serious because you will laugh every time! He uses interesting life experiences to get you thinking and start discussion. Cases are applicable real life situations. Easy A.

Brother Baron's Ethics class was my absolute favorite of my first semester of college. It wasn't a class I necessarily "needed" but the one I learned from most. He initiated learning by discussion, listened to our opinions and individuality and really helped us progress as our own people. I recommend a class from him no matter the subject.

Taking Book of Mormon from Pres. Baron was the best thing I could have done for myself at BYU-I. He teaches you how to love the Book of Mormon and how to study it in ways you've never thought of before. This was my favorite class out of all the classes I've taken at BYU-I.

The textbook is the bible. It's wonderful that he is so knowledgeable about the scriptures and brings in interesting insights. He allows students to share what they've learned, and the homework helps to strengthen understanding of the New Testament. He's very friendly, helpful, and super funny. I would love to talk another class from him.

Brother Baron was an amazing teacher with insights that I never thought of before. As long as you do the readings accompanied with the daily questions and come to class, you will get an A. No tests, just a couple of papers that require thought and effort. I loved his Book of Mormon class and would recommend him to anyone.

Bro. Baron is great at lecturing and keeping the classroom dialogue moving. He is very intelligent and has interesting tidbits of knowledge to add to the subject material. He has an amazing capacity to retain the material and expects the same of his students. There is always a reading assignment and homework due before class.

I absolutely love his classes. The homework is fairly easy, really just need to be prepared for class discussions by doing the reading. No real testsquizzes. A lot of every day application in his teaching. He is also really quite funny.

So much fun and energy in the class its my favorite class that I have ever taken!

Great teacher. The lectures really get you thinking deeply about gospel principles. He assigns 3 papers through out the semester that require some effort and you will have reading assignments before each class. Beware: You need to read all the gospels and you don't read them all as a class . (40 additional chapters on your own time)

Ross Baron is an excellent teacher. His ethics class opened my understanding of the world. You will not be disappointed if you take it. The class is extremely fascinating. The class is heavily centered on discussions. Do the reading. Think. Participation is huge. This class may challenge some of the assumptions you've made you're whole life.

If you are here for and easy A, don't take the class. If you genuinely want to learn, then I would say this is a must take before graduation. I didn't study as much as I should, and my grade suffered for it. But had I done all the work, I would have done well. He is very specific in his expectations, and very strict with them. He is a fair grader.

Bro. Baron's ethics course is pretty intense, but really good. It's not easy, expect to do some heavy reading of original philosophical texts for each class, but he leads excellent class discussions. He provides all those readings, but you'd better read them.

Brother Baron is a wonderful person who has so much knowledge about the gospel, but I was actually disappointed with his Teachings of the Book of Mormon class. Every class period was made up solely of student discussion and very little direct teaching from Brother Baron. I take classes to learn from the teacher, not just the students.

Knowledgeable and truly filled by the Spirit. There wasn't a single class period in which I didn't learn something that touched my heart. The class is mostly discussion-based, but if you don't like to speak, don't worry you can sit back and listen. Pre-class reading, assignment, and post. His goal is to help you learn and not to give busy work.

Absolutely amazing. The best religion teacher I had at BYU-Idaho. He cares about the doctrine and doesn't put any focus on superficial applications. He speaks with power. He gets to know his students. He is also funny and entertaining. You have to participate, but it's overall easy.

Writings of Isaiah was an amazing class! You will have an assignment do before and after each class and then an end-of-the semester- paper (an easy one!). There were no exams or quizzes! Bring hard copy of scriptures because he does not allow electronic ones. I highly recommend him!

I've taken four classes with Bro Baron, and each one has been an awesome experience. If you want to develop your testimony and deepen your understanding of the scriptures, take one of his classes.

Bro Baron is hands down in my top-five-faves at BYU-I, and I've taken from a lot of professors. He's so knowledgeable, very humble, passionate about the gospel, loves college-aged kids, enjoys questions/concerns, and promotes honesty in his class. You HAVE to go to class to get a good grade, and don't procrastinate School of Prophets assignment.

Brother Baron is the best religion teacher I've ever had! He is so good at inviting the Spirit to class and directing a spirit filled discussion and is so funny! Class goes by so fast, I enjoy it so much. I have learned so much about the Gospel this semester, I wish I had more religion classes to take because I'd only take Brother Baron!

I've taken as many classes as I could from Bro Baron because HE ROCKS. He knows the gospel inside and out, and loves it too. He loves his students and respects them. Discussions are rich if you do the prep, and he is really great to meet with personally and ask questions of. If you can, take a class from him. He will enrich your life!

Bro. Baron is awesome! He's so good at both managing the class conversation and inserting his own super insightful (and often mind-blowing) comments. I love that it's not just a lecture from him, but a real conversation that focuses on the students. And he has such energy and excitement for the gospel, it's infectious!

AMAZING! Brother Baron has been my favorite religion teacher ever! I never missed a class and that is saying something. He is very insightful on all topics. I go to class excited to learn more about the gospel. There is an assignment before and after class that just allows you to prepare and reflect on the topic. TAKE HIM!

Gave out one lecture assignment and a "ponder" assignment twice each week, for a total of 4 assignments , all around one or two paragraphs each. Attendance is factored into the grade, so it is mandatory. Also does a "practicum" project which includes keeping a journal for two weeks. The religions classes here are pretty much what you would expect.

Brother Baron has been my favorite religion teacher of al time, including seminary, which he used to teach. Hes incredibly qualified for the job. He answers every singe question to the best of his ability. Stays after every class to answer questions from lined up students. Lectures are incredible and always inspire me. I look forward to his class!

brother baron is a great teacher, he's super funny and makes his lecture the best part of my week. the only bad things are that 1) there's a loooot of homework for a religion class. and 2)gets into really deep doctrine sometimes/says some stuff that doesn't make a whole ton of sense. other than that, I loved him. discussion based class, it was fun

This man is a legend. Easily the most interesting religion teacher and always brought good examples and experiences to class that helped us connect with the learning. I always felt he cared about me and all the other students as well. He's a god guy who is incredibly intelligent and who is very inspirational.

Dr. Baron is currently teaching at the BYU Jerusalem Center. He was an incredible teacher. I never left class not feeling enlightened. He is so intelligent & discusses the biblical Hebrew which makes learning deeper. That being said, his tests were super hard & you had to study a lot to do well. Overall, Dr. Baron is amazing & I loved having him.

It does not matter what class you take from Brother Baron. He is AMAZING. I have taken many religion classes from him because I have felt like I learn more from him than I have ever learned on my own. If I could self-title I would be a Baronite! He has helped open my spiritual eyes and understanding. He truly teaches by the Spirit every class.

Brother Baron's lectures are phenomenal, attendance is mandatory but I always wanted to go to class regardless. There is a reasonable number of assignments and reading so you will need to set aside time outside of class, around 3 hours a week, for other assignments.

Love this guy! Super funny and really inspirational lectures! Hes so nice and he teaches things in a way youve never thought about! He has a prep reading assignment and its not hard at all! With the prep is a quiz stating if you did it or not! Easy class and amazing professor. Take him already!!

attendance will kill your grade and that sucks but other than that I have NOTHING bad to say about him. He will help your testimony in Jesus Christ grow no matter where you are at spiritually. He's not here to promote his personal agenda like other religion teachers. He has amazing applicable real life stories. He truly cares about the individual.

Brother Baron is GREAT! He's energetic and genuinely cares about what he is teaching. He is very knowledgable. There are assignments before every class which were easy but it took maybe 1-3 hours for me to complete. No reason at all not to take him.

Brother Baron really cares about his students and bears strong testimony every class. You can really tell he loves teaching the gospel and the assignments required for his class are never busy work--they are designed to help you learn principles that you can really only learn from your own personal study. Take his class!! You won't regret it.

Br. Barron is the best professor I've had at BYUI. I took Hebrew 1 and 2 from him. His stories are incredible, he will build you up, and he will teach you a lot. Taking Hebrew from him is a fascinating and life-changing experience. The class definitely requires some work, but if you're willing to do your best he will work with you! Incredible!

Please please please take Brother Baron! He is the most funny and intelligent religion professor I have ever had. He loves to tell stories and have really constructive discussions in class. He is super funny and also very very spiritual. The homework is easy but will take about 45 minutes every class.

You can tell that he is passionate and has a strong testimony of the gospel. He is so funny and still makes class spiritual. I would reccommend him to anyone looking for a good teacher!

Brother Baron is an amazing professor and if he taught all required religion classes you already know I would take him for all of them. He was raised Jewish and speaks Hebrew so he has so many awesome insights in his Old Testament class. His work isnt busy but to me it strengthens my faith in the Savior. Definitely take his class!

LITERALLY TAKE ANY OF HIS CLASSES HE IS AMAZING!!! I got there on the first day of school and I met 4 people that day who had taken him before at least once or twice. He cares about what you have to say and expands on what you are saying. He is actually hilarious and helps you understand the gospel in such an amazing way. 10/10 recommend!!

This has been the best religion class I have taken. The homework is light, I honestly feel that has helped my testimony grow more. No essays, Just answer a short questions before class. My testimony hasn't been stronger. Brother Baron explains things so well! If you have questions he will email you a list of resources or help you. He is unbiased.

I graduated from institute almost three times - so have taken DOZENS of religion classes. Brother Baron competes for number one of all the teachers I've taken (compared to 30). He is EXTREMELY knowledgable, calls every student by name, and most importantly brought the Spirit into his lessons. You will not regret taking from him.

Brother Baron was the only teacher I've ever had and then asked what classes he teaches the following semester just to make sure he was my next religion teacher, he teaches his lesson super clearly and with a tasteful amount of humor to keep the class engaged.

I took Brother Baron's Hebrew class. The class was difficult, he really pushed us, but I have never learned more or liked a professor more. He has a way of teaching that helps you care about the Old Testament in a way you never have before. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!

Brother Baron is so amazing! He is literally my favorite professor and I am taking another class from him. When he teaches, he makes the stories and doctrines come alive! He makes sure everybody understands what he is explaining and answers any questions you might have. He tries to get to know his students personally and cares for them.

Ross Baron is the absolute best professor at the BYU-I campus. He's amazing at his job and finds a way to spark the spiritual spark in you.

He's amazing! He strives to bring the spirit and is the most humble and kind person. You can tell he cares about each of his students and wants them to grow their testimonies. His readings and assignments are easy/enjoyable and class discussions are lively and enlightening. Honestly the one class keeping me together this semester. Highly recommend!

Brother Baron is awesome! Really funny guy with lots of great stories. I wasn't a fan of all the reading because sometimes it felt like we were turning the scriptures into busywork :( I enjoyed our discussion style in class and the classmate participation, but I ended the semester wishing we'd spent a little more time studying together in class.

Brother Baron always brought the spirit and made me think outside of the box. I absolutely loved his class and it wasn't hard to keep up in. If you do the pre class assignments and show up then you'll get an A.

Absolutely amazing! Class was difficult since you're translating a dead language, but Brother Baron will explain things and most of the class ends up being discussion about doctrines and how one word could translate different ways and what that would mean in English. First teacher to make me want to audit a class, just so I can learn more from him.

His classes are pretty entertaining compared to most other religion courses. He seems to have an issue with exaggerating stories to make them more interesting. Overall, I would definitely recommend taking his classes.

Lectures were very entertaining, he's great at asking and responding to questions. He converted when he was like 20 from Judaism so he has a unique perspective and is a master scriptorian. No tests, just some readings and two reading reflections a week (200 words) so not bad at all. Attendance is necessary.

Literally the best professor ever! He is hilarious and has amazing insights towards the Gospel. There is homework every week but it is not bad. Attendance is required but, you don't want to miss the class anyway it's so good.

I loved this class so much!! The class time felt like a big guided discussion and you could ask any question ever and he always had the best answers. The only assignments for the class was that you had to write a 200 word response before every class and 2 easy papers throughout, there were no tests or quizzes. Definitely take him!

Professor Baron brings great energy to the class. If you engage with the material and attend regularly, you'll do well. unstuck study was a helpful study tool for me alongside the textbook.

This was one of the best religion classes I have taken at BYU! Professor Baron was funny, engaging, but also super spiritual. Workload wasn't too bad, just some readings before class and a little write-up about them. No tests!

He truly knows his stuff and always brings the Spirit with him. I participated in some of the greatest gospel conversations of my life in his class. Discussions are meaningful and inspiring. You have to be there in person every class period, unless you have a university excused absence. You wonʻt regret taking this class if you actually show up.
