He makes class interesting, and when its interesting its very easy to learn. He prepares you well for the exams and nothing is hidden. I learned so much and had a great experience too.

Ross was a great teacher - I wish I'd had BIO 101 with him. He has a very funny way about him - makes remembering information easy when he links it to something funny: Vortex of Doom, anyone? (Part of the Krebs Cycle, for those of you to still take the class.) I would HIGHLY recommend him to all!!!!

In my two years at wcc Ross has been hands down my favorite. His witty humor and abilty to relate some fairly complex subject matter to simple real life situations make learning in his class a blast! My favorite quote from Ross was "I like to think of pinecones as little dens of love".

Strayer is the "G." Warning though, he talks about a lot of sex in his class, like some animals having orgies... HE is very easy, funny, frank, and cool. I RECOMMEND ANYONE TO TAKE HIS CLASS, EVEN A CATHOLIC.

One of my favorite teachers EVER! He is hilarious and makes good use of his humor in class. Bio would have been dry without his personality and his jokes. I took a second bio class just because he taught it. Easy tests, great times! GO STRAYER!!!

Highly recommended!Easy-going, great sense of humor, very helpful, accommodating & friendly.A talent!Wrote WCC's BIO 101 lab manual. Missed a lot of 9AM lectures due to what I think was a family problem, but always had a great sub (Kandace Rickard). I heard he never missed 12:30 lecture though. If Strayer is full, take Brad Metz or Kandace Rickard.

Ross Strayer is an awsome instructor, class isn't hard, test are just like any other Bio class though. Very eay class, he explains well. No homework other than studing for the test. I strongly reccommend him.

Ross is a great teacher! Before I took his Bio 101 class, I had no idea what I wanted to do for my career, but now I'm sure I'm going into the science field....he makes learning so much fun....and I can honestly say that I've learned something new everyday!

hes one damn hot teacher. absurdly good. the best science teacher you will ever have guaranteed. his lectures are very comprehensive, always related to test material, and almost impossible to fall asleep in. side note: he says sex a lot. i recorded about 50 times in one lecture, though im sure i missed a few.

I have thoroughly enjoyed his class, averaged better grades than expected, and actually learned a lot more than anticipated. Ross is easy-going but thorough in his teaching and most helpful. Great sense of humor. Makes this class as interesting as possible. Uses power point but always talks about slides and doesn't read from them. Labs with him don't take the full 3 hours. He's a great instructor!

I love this man - if you hate Biology and are not good at it, you HAVE to take it with Strayer. I always hated any type of Science, but Strayer makes it SO exciting. Even if you're good at Bio, take it with him. He is SO entertaining.

Ross is pretty much the awesomest teacher I've ever met. I was mildly interested in biology before I took this class, but never very good at sciences, and he made it SO fun and fascinating and easy to understand. Not to mention he could've been just as successful as a comedian. You gotta watch his subtler expressions, he's freaking impeccable.

Ross Strayer has to be one of the best professors/teachers I have ever had. He makes the class fun and funny. He makes you love biology and want to learn more. I wish there where more people like him teaching, especially in K-12, I think our kids would actually love going to school!!

Amazing teacher, he put me in this almost trance that made me want to pay attention, made me LOVE biology, he's an EXCELLENT teacher. I think he's the best teacher at WCC. Warning tho if sex bothers you, he does relate everything to sex. . .so dont take him, I love the way he teaches, his 'free gifts' :-D

You will pass this class. If Science is not your "best" subject, then Ross Strayer is for you. He makes learning Science fun and relates topics to everyday life. Tests, labs and reports are easy. No tricks, very straight forward. BEST Science instructor hands down!

STRAYER IS THE SINGLE BEST TEACHER I HAVE EVER HAD! He brings the material to life and actually gives a new fun light to a topic that could easily be super boring. I, going into anesthesiology and the way he showed the material was new and fresh other then reading straight out of a book. It is easy to retain the information from lectures as well.

HE IS GREAT. hilarious, clear. the lectures aren't mandatory, but the labs are. the lectures are very helpful, and minimal notes are needed for an A. also, he's sexy.

This class was the best! I was not into biology at all and now it's my major because of this man. He makes biology so much fun and easy to understand really difficult and obscure processes. And yeah, he's a sexy dude. Old school rocker, very nice!

he is good at teaching and making everyone understand the material but he does not care. if he says you can do your presentation at a later date (its the final) dont listen and do it on your assigned day because he wont let you do it on the last day! he lies!!!! so just follow the due dates assigned and you will do fine. just dont trust him

He's a pretty good teacher overall. Soft spoken, sit close so you can hear. Tests are right off his slides and study guides, pretty easy to pass if you go to class. He's interesting to listen to, amusing at times. Likable guy, decent teacher.

His teaching tactics are theatrical. He uses the lecture as a mere vessel in which to pass on instruction through soft spoken subtle humor,kinda like how we use pancakes as a vessel in which to obtain a substantial amount of real maple syrup.numerous times I could of applauded,i settled it with a giggle.take him,keep the cutie pie employed!

Best teacher ever! He keeps you entertained and interested throughout the course. A surprisingly easy A course, just do the work and go to class. I never even opened the text book throughout the semester. Save your money and just peek at your neighbors.

Mr. Strayer is amazing! I don't like Bio that much but he made everything fun and interesting and relatable. He is beyond charming and so funny and sweet, he makes me laugh everytime he laughs. Very encouraging and humble. Take him he is a great enthusiastic teacher!!!

I hate science and Ross made me love it! I am shocked not only by how much I learned in class, but more by how much I retained. Best BIO teacher EVER!!!!!

Though Ross has a sweet sense of humor, wants only to be outdoors, and definitely knows all the bio info. But ... he will frustrate those who are expect "dependability" and "professionalism" from teachers. Ross doesn't care about that! Nor due dates. But what he DOES care about are fun and interesting ideas involving natural life, and adventuring.

Great teacher! Makes biology fun. Don't buy the textbook(need the lab manual). You need to show up for the class to fill in the blanks for his PowerPoint slides. Take good notes too. Study Guides have most test questions.

Attend class, fill in the lecture powerpoint notes, study the self answered study guide, you're set. Strayer is a really nice guy and took the time to help me with anything I needed. He doesn't talk loudly which is helped by the microphone, but sit in front if you are hard of hearing. I was actually able to learn, even for a subject I hated!

I'm still in the Bio 101 class, but Mr. Strayer is so awesome I had to give him a rating! He understands people are busy and makes it easy to pass his class if you aren't blowing it off constantly. He knows most of us just need a Bio class for graduation so he tries to make it interesting. He thinks reciting from Powerpoints is boring and so do I!

He is so easy! Also kind of oblivious but makes great analogies when trying to teach you the microscopic level of biology.

HE is a good teacher. He is really laid back when turning things in and before the tests, he has practice quizzes which are really helpful.

Great teacher, I was not into the subject but he kept me entertained. Just do the practice quizzes and you should get at least half the test right just by knowing them!

I enjoyed this class. He is very quiet, and hard to hear, but I still enjoyed it. I took this class later at night, but it was still easy to follow. He uses Powerpoint slides, but uses a lot of metaphors and examples to make things stick in your mind. And he also makes a few funny jokes. He always puts the answers to the lab up at the end of lab!!!

I really liked Mr. Strayer. He makes class more exciting by adding jokes. You have to take notes and pay attention in lecture, there are only three tests (including the final). He gives test questions for you to study before every test which are very helpful. I would take him again.

Mr. Strayer is a great professor! He wants to help anyone struggling but you also bring forth the effort as well. DO THE TEST REVIEW. Majority of the test questions will be there. Don't buy the book, we didn't even use it.

I needed a lab class to graduate and was hesitant about Biology, but I have to say Mr. Strayer is a great teacher! He's very nice and is flexible to those with other obligations. There are only 3 tests (including the Final). He gives you Exam Reviews to look over, DO ALL OF THEM! They will help you! Do NOT buy the textbook, we NEVER used it.

I had been dreading taking this class and Professor Strayer made it interesting, understandable and pretty enjoyable. If I had to take another science-related class, I'd hope that he was teaching it.

I took a 6 week Bio course with him, which means this was a 15 week course crammed packed. We had 4 hour lectures, but he made them completely painless. He is so funny and relates the topic with everyday things that are easy to remember. If you struggle with science but need to take it, he is the guy to take!!!

Ross Strayer, I have a lot of things to say about him but only 300 characters:( He is honestly one of the best teachers in all my years of being a student. I've never knew how much I liked biology until I took BIO 101 with him. He's literally the best! He's so nice and if you study the reviews you will get a good grade. Take his class!!

He's really funny and great at explaining complex concepts. He also was very encouraging when I wanted to learn more biology than the class taught. He can be your friend if you want him to be.

Stayer is awesome. He will help you any way he can so you will pass or get the grade you want. Labs were always short and to the point. Lab tests were open book and we were able to work with our partners. Tests were easy as long as you study with the study questions he provides. Never once used the book. Got a B because I missed some labs.

The first class I took at WCC, he was amazing professor that made me stay there. He lectures were understandable, easy, and fun. Labs were always fun to come too. Test were easy, if you showed up to lecture you were going to pass.

This man is an absolute legend. He is extremely smart, and and is very patient when students ask questions. He makes some great jokes, and he is lenient if you are sick or cant make it to class. By far the most painless lab I have ever taken as well. Probably the best Bio teacher in the school.

Relaxed class, the lectures can be dry and Ross isn't the most animated, but he can be funny. He's great about answering questions, but don't expect replies to emails. The lab was extremely easy and you won't be there the entire time, an hour at the most. Hardest part would be the exams, but he gives study guides and if you study, you'll do fine.

Strayer is hands down one of the best teachers I've ever had. His lectures are great and he is really good at explaining things and inspiring wonder in the world of biology. He's funny, knowledgeable, genuine and approachable. Show up, pay attention and take notes and you will pass this class. Labs are a sinch. Highly recommend!!

This guy is so funny!! I loved going to his class! He is extremely flexible&gt; I turned my assignment one week late and he accepted. Sometimes his lectures get dry but come one its science. Easy A. test are a bit difficult but he gives you questions that are on the test. and he gives you objective on which you can make your own study guide.

Dr. Ross is an excellent teacher; he makes all things very simple and you really learn the material. He tries to help you get the best grade possible. He is funny in lectures and on his test. He is AWESOME, and caring! Just follow his objectives and you get an A easily.

Strayer makes it easy to pass. His lectures are content heavy so I never needed to open the textbook. He adds funny stories and though his lectures can be dull sometimes, we almost always get out early. Take Strayer if you can!

Very informative lectures, I really did enjoy his lectures. He has a lot of hilarious ways to apply biology to every day life. Some students don't like the fact that he has more to say than just what you need to study but that's what made the lectures so interesting. I wish I could absorb all of his knowledge, he is an awesome professor.

Good professor, but ask questions in person because he does not respond to emails. Lectures are nice, tests are fairly easy. Make sure to do the study guide he gives you and he gives you test answers the class before the exam. Very funny and also laid back, labs are fairly easy as long as you work with someone.

The best guy ever, my man is hilarious he be cracking jokes all through the lecture. Lab is easy AF and wouldn't take more than 30 minutes to complete. He is an awesome teacher and dude!Dont need book, just his study guides with objectives. Just study those and you will get an A. He gives you (15-25) of the actual test questions in class. Funny, kind, and goes out of his way to help you perform well. Take him for every class you can; you'll be glad you did.

If you're not a science person this IS the teacher for you! He's funny and keeps it real and easy to understand. Only required to attend two lectures but I say GO ANYWAYS everything you're going to need to know for the exams are discussed. USE/FOLLOW his study guides and there's no way to fail. He's a great guy and wants you to succeed!

Does a great job of keeping the information in lecture exactly what you need to pass the test. Pay attention in class and use the given study guides and you will be fine. He also very ease to listen to.

Professor Strayer is an amazing guy. Very funny, very knowledgeable, teaches biology in a way that sticks with you. He breaks down topics better than any science teacher I've ever had. Class isn't mandatory, lab is. So you don't have to stress about being at class. But it's worth it for the knowledge and the laughs!! Use the study guides for tests!

Overall really chill professor that loves what hes teaching about. Showing up to class helps with labs, but you could probably manage even if you dont show. Take notes in your lab book for lab tests. Pretty lenient on test dates. Tries to make the class enjoyable for everyone!

Lab is mandatory, but class wasn't. Really enjoyed his lectures and his labs were not hard at all. Definitely one of my favorite professors!

He's one of the best bio teachers I've ever had. He made it easy to understand the material and how to do the labs. He understood if you couldn't finish something that day and gave you time to finish it. It was clear what needed to be done and when.

Took his Bio 101 class virtually and it wasn't too bad. He is nice, lenient, and understands if you have any technical issues at home. I did not really pay attention during the lectures because they were very long and boring to me but managed to pass with an average grade! Highly Recommend if you do not like science.

I thought he was a very nice teacher! Lectures aren't mandatory, but labs are. Most of your grade will be tests and lab assignments along with two lab tests, but it wasn't hard at all as long as you keep up with your work!!

He is a great professor as he knows that most people taking bio101 arent trying to major in it. He made everything applicable to life in a way, and was very intriguing. It can get boring because he goes off on tangents and forgets hes lecturing but he is so fun, happy, easy, and understanding. He is very organized and grades very fair. 100% take.

Absolutely knows his stuff & knows the answers to your questions. Isn't a dry lecturer. Teaches material using relatable explanations that are understandable & easy to follow. Tests are intense, so you should do his very generous study guides & listen to the lectures. Material is really interesting. Probably my best prof out of 4 years.

The sweetest guy ever, his lectures weren't long and boring and he posted each one to BB when he was done teaching. You do get points for going to his online labs but you don't have to go to the lectures which was nice. If you pay attention and do the lab you will get a good grade but you can definitely still pass the class if you don't do the labs
