Straight forward class. Very enjoyable.
The class is really interesting but some chapters could be confusing. She is always there to help so make sure to email her. It's a lot of work. Get ready to read. If you are not interested in art, you will hate this class.
The class was terrible. Her syllabus was completely unclear. She was mess with the grades! Terrible class ! Avoid this class!!!
Inputs wrong grades all the time . Gives a bunch of assignments a week as if she is the only class you're taking. the fact that I ended up with a C in an art class tells you how harsh she grades.
This teacher is pretentious, her class is basically silly. She gets potential good material and transforms it into a blob of confusion. It is hard to follow her syllabus and she gives an immense amount of useless exercises and tasks that really don't teach anything. If this teacher represents the quality of professors at FIU, it is a bad sign
This class was very confusing at times. There is a heavy courseload, and you're expected to read a lot. I felt that, even as I did almost every assignment, I was still scraping to get by. The best tip I can give you is to keep an eye on your grades - sometimes she won't input grades for something you've done.
Took this class and from the beginning I saw trouble. The first was an adobe connect session that she schedule mandatory and docked points if late ( thank goodness I was off work already and not fair to people who were working). Does not care if you have issues and post so much information that its a nightmare to sort and read to understand all.
Teacher that gives assignments that ar very easy. Her test are online at home and you can look up the answers. Very simple class.
Class is easy but she is a mess. She uses blackboard but the way she organizes the material is all over the place. Folders inside folders and she uses different fonts and colors to announce things which makes it hard to read. However, its an easy class. Live chats are mandatory and she does give extra credit.
Her canvas page is a complete mess. I had to take all the assignments and organize them myself by due date. Besides this, the class is super easy, just read/skim the book and do the online homeworks and quizzes and you'll get an A. She does give extra credit and there are two live sessions, but they are recorded so you can do the homework any time.
Everything is on quizlet if you do not want to read the text book. She uses the textbook heavily and you need to purchase it if you do not want to do all the course in the two week free trial of the book. She's really nice and very lenient with grades on discussion posts.
This professor should teach every other professor how to run an online class. She gives constant feedback, reminders and is always available to communicate. She also has the clearest curriculum of any professor I've ever seen. You can literally finish the entire class in just 2-3 days. You need to get the interactive textbook but it's worth it!
Homeworks and exams are online. Easy A, if you complete all assignments on time. 2 weeks two do assignments. All submissions are on Sundays. She gives extra credit for everything.
Easy class. Every assignment is open ahead of time so I finished the class weeks before the end of the semester.
Extremely time consuming class, plan ahead of time to complete assignments. YES, she opens ahead of time, but its not extra time because of how much she gives you literally need all the time you can get. Basically like 10 assignments per week, idk, but she gives a lot of extra credit as well, so . . .
Worst class Ive taken
confusing class
Terrible experience. Makes class harder than it should be. If you can find another course or instructor, go ahead so you don't have to deal with this amount of stress.
Don't enroll in this class. Save your GPA!
If youre looking for an art class look anywhere but here
There are so many assignments, that you can barely focus on other classes. There are drawing assigments what she takes so seriously that my grade went down a lot because of it. Do not take this class if you want to enjoy your semester or you want to focus on other classes!
I took this class thinking it was going to be a breeze and because it was a UCC.. Wow i have never taken an online class that gives more assignments then this one. The professor is super unorganized and everything is all over the place. minimum 10 assignments per week due, we have to do doodles and drawings and they are graded very seriously.
More work than chemistry. She has very unclear guidelines and REFUSES to explain anything via email for an online class. When I ask why I didn't receive a better grade, if responded to at all, I get "read directions" over and over again. Insane amounts of homework, hour long videos. Never take her. She is a terrible professor who I regret taking.
These recent ratings are from people who complained in the group chat all the time instead of doing their work. I was in the same class and it was VERY easy. Yes there is a lot of homework, ALL of it is easy! The exams and quizzes were open book! She gives extra credit like crazy, so if you don't like an assignment you can still get an A.
Teacher was very unrealistic with assignment time frames. Work load was extremely heavy for such a low level course. Did not learn anything, more like consumed so much information and then had to regurgitate it in order to pass the MANY quizzes ans exams within such time. If you have tech. difficulties, you will get a 0, no help. DO NOT TAKE.
If you have an issue and try to contact her, she will tell you to ask somewhere else, as in Technical help in the programs. The class itself was not bad if you distributed the work throughout the week evenly. Do not leave for last minute. If you had a question about your grade she will tell you to read directions and never specify. Atrocious.
Class can seem disorganized at times. Lots of assignments, but plenty of time to do them. She posts work, and then you have practically the whole month to complete them. All the assignments are very very easy. Test and quizzes are half your grade but are open book. Lots and lots of extra credit so you have to be lazy or trying not to get an A.
Too bad people use this forum to bash teachers they don't like instead of being fair, so others can make an informed choice. The class was one of the easiest I've taken at FIU. There were a lot of easy assignments, and easy tests. There was plenty of time to do them all. My GPA went up. Take the class, you wont regret it.
Many people failed to do her assignments that she gave us weeks ahead of time. Only thing i recommend is not waiting until last minute to do all the work but half of you are already gonna do that so good luck :)
There's a lot of work, but it's not hard at all. She gives you weeks to turn in sections of work that could be done in few days. Don't start the homework the day it's due, follow the directions, and this class will be a breeze. She'll let you turn in late work, but deducts pts depending on how late. She gives plenty of extra credit, too!
Professor Roxana Corradino honestly was amazing! I would take another class with her. I'm not going to lie, you have to work for your grade in this class but it is very easy if you have the right tools. You don't need the book but you do need the access code to be able to do the work in this class.
Lots of assignments but they're easy & open book. Lots of extra credit available. Assignments must be unlocked (complete current task to unlock next.) Easiest class I've ever taken. Read syllabus + follow module order. Professor Corradino cares and sends reminders so students can complete their work in time. You won't fail if you just try.
Terrible teacher, too much useless work that won't teach you anything. On top of that you have very little time to complete.
This professor isn't organized, her online course is messy and her grading criteria isn't clear. She does give a lot of extra credit, and responds emails fast. Nonetheless, I was overwhelmed by the amount of POINTLESS work for the short amount of time we had to complete it. She's also VERY STRICT with deadlines. Take another professor if you can.
DO NOT BUY THE TEXTBOOK. you only need the online connect code. This is a HYBRID COURSE. its listed as in person but its NOT. professor is caring but is hard to understand and gives A LOT of work.
Corradinos class was fun, although she gave a lot of homework. Her class time was interactive activities, the homework was a lot of book work and worksheets. The class I was part of was not interested in the course material so whenever Corradino had any interactive activities no one would participate. Dont take this class if you dont like art.
Gives A LOT of pointless work for a six-week course. She will make make you work your butt off if you want a decent grade. The good thing is that she is kind, responds quickly to messages, and gives extra credit opportunities. If you are looking for an easy Global Learning credit, avoid this class.
The work load is ridiculous. The class is not hard at all but it can be very tedious, she is very unorganized and it can be very frustrating if you are new to online classes and is just learning how to navigate canvas. This is my junior year and I am used to taking online classes and I was very frustrated with her. She also adds work as she goes.
She is very unorganized and does not pace out her due dates, so you will have 13 time-consuming assignments due on the same day. I would not recommend her at all. Everyone in the group chat for her class also agrees. Another thing is that she is a very tough grader. No matter how good your assignment is, she will find something to give you a B- for
If you want to be stuck with hours upon hours of homework each night then take this class! More work than all my other classes combined. She is also terrible at giving instructions and making due dates clear
Avoid at all cost! Trust me and save yourself the trouble, very unorganized and ridiculous amount of work. She also changes due dates unexpectedly for example she'll give you an assignment with an original due date of the 15th and then changes it to the 13th. I've dealt with such an unorganized professor in my entire college career, i'm a junior.
This lady is just ridiculous. Look elsewhere and save yourself time, unless your trying to spend your entire semester focusing on her class solely.
Extremely unorganized with a ridiculous amount of coursework and no sense of coherency when it comes to class policies. Save yourself some precious time and energy and NEVER take this class!
she gives such bulk load of load which is very unnecessary for that class
If you need a globallearning course & plan on being a full time student this semester, do not, I REPEAT - DO NOT take this class. Workload in this class will consume you & all the freetime you have. SO many small assignments. Professor has no regard for students' lives outside this class. Her lectures are unorganized & she does not follow syllabus.
I got an A in the class and I still wouldn't recommend.
The worst professor and worst class I have ever taken. This class and the instructor are both simply awful. Too much busywork, something so subjective and open-ended as Art is a rigorous, structured thing in this course. I like art but I hated this professor and course.
I took this professor online, and although the class and subject material are very easy. She would give you no time to get assignments done. She would give a two week period for 8 to 10 assignments, meaning if you were diligent you would still have one assignment per week. Time consuming class and she would spam my inbox constantly.
This is by far the easiest A you can get at FIU and I'd still recommend you take a different class. I can't emphasize how confusing the requirements are for this class. She added both Spring A and C to the same calendar so you never knew which due date was yours, she BOMBARDS your email with contradicting messages every day. Avoid.
The course is an easy A, as long as you do your assignments. But she is a terrible professor, she does not care about her students, she gives no extensions (even when I had no computer access to do a test because of moving during corona) and sends like 10 announcements a day that SERVE NO PURPOSE besides cluttering your email.
Do not, I repeat, DO NOT take this class unless you have time on your hands. She assigns anywhere from 12-24 assignments due every week, where some, individual ones, take hours to do. They're all easy, but incredibly time consuming. She's a nice professor but the amount of work she assigns is absolutely unnecessary. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!
She gives WAYYY too much work. She was assigning so many assignments per week and all she did was lecture the entire class and it was honestly just a nightmare.
The professor is a nice lady, I can tell that she worked hard on the class and was excited to teach it. But NO ONE has time for 2+ hour zoom meetings which were optional but we had to watch the recording to do the work. I did none of the zoom assignments but a lot of extra credit so i got 87%. Would not recommend, way too much work for an art class
Shes a super nice lady and funny! I loved her lectures, you really learn a lot. However, she gives about 4 assignments per week, most of them are really easy and can be found online. Super fun class, I recommend her. I took her Summer B
I had to drop this professor because apparently if it is not her way, it is the highway. She likes everything done a certain way and if you dont like it, well that sucks. Her materials seem to be included, so thats good. But this class is a joke really. Easiest class only to be made hard by her.. DOES NOT MAKE ANY SENSE. Horrible. 0stars.
Professor Corradino is one of the kindest professors you'll meet at FIU. The class is pretty flexible but you definitely need to do your work. There is group work but it isn't too intense. Corradino has a lot of knowledge and experience so it's good to have someone who KNOWS their field. A good amount of coursework but it is entirely doable.
she makes everything difficult for no reason. lacks rapport with students which makes it hard to talk to her & results in not being helpful whatsoever. feels like you cant share anything with her because she is uptight & takes everything seriously. doesnt care about students grades & assigns lots of HW using Connect MHEd (not a reliable source)
Professor RC has to be the most difficult person I have met in my 5y of UNI. This class is easy, but if you need any type of assistance from the Professor, she is useless. Has serious trouble connecting w/students and needs everything done in a professional manner (cannot express yourself to her about anything, she wont care) *DO NOT TAKE*
One of the nicest professors I had at FIU. Class was honestly really easy and the only reason you would fail is if you didn't turn in the work on time or at all. The class was interesting to take and taught me about a lot of different art forms. She likes things done a specific way ex: only blank white paper. but it's not too much to be upset over.
I would not take this class.
Honestly, there is a lot of work for this class, but it is very easy and doable. Theres also a lot of extra credit opportunities and she is super nice! The lectures are long, but entertaining. If you need help, just ask her and she will do it. I would take her again, easy A but requires effort. I took her summer B
From the very first day I could tell it was going to be a LONG semester with this professor. First, she had an almost 3hr zoom meeting that was overloaded with confusing and contradicting information. The format of her canvas course was so difficult to navigate. Overall, the material was easy to learn, but the prof's demands made it unbearable.
Professor Corradino is amazing! She makes her class entertaining and it was one of the first 3hr courses I've taken that passed by very quickly due to her great teaching and involvement in activities with the class. She only asks for you to turn in your work on time, but still offers a grace period in which you could turn in the assignment!
This professor's canvas is just terrible. She is very unorganized and attaches wrong rubics to wrong assignments. One week she says one chapter then in another assignment she'll say another trying to reference the same chapter. The book hw is alright but the group project takes the whole semester. It is tedious and not interesting whatsoever.
a lot of homework and assignments. uses an online textbook. you NEED it. all of the assignments are based on it as well as extra credit-- a lot of studying on the online textbooks. one large group project throughout the entire term. very annoying class to take tbh. but if u do the work its easy to pass.
This art history class is very Interesting. There is a lot of activities and extra credit, which are not difficult but they are time consuming. She likes everybody to show up to class. She helps a lot. You have grace periods to submit your assignments. Her canvas is not too well organized. You have to do 2 group activities.
Way too much work for a 6 week course - I understand it's supposed to be condensed but anyone with a full-time job or even a modicum of responsibility will have a hard time keeping up with this teacher's rigid and chaotic structure. Massive headache for no reason, and good luck with the group projects if you do have her.
Nope, never again...The professor isn't bad, but the group projects will give you a HEADACHE!!! It's as if your grade is based off the involvement of other people. And the projects aren't even easy, they are complicated. This class wouldn't be so terrible if there weren't any group projects.
The assignments were very tedious and pointless. She also sends about 100 announcements a day. would not recommend
Mrs. Corradino is an understanding, kind, and passionate art teacher who genuinely loves her job. Failing is unlikely as the work, though heavy in the 6-week timeframe, is simple and open book. She's great, making me want to retake the class and learn more about the diverse meanings of art. Take her class! You won't regret it. 10/10 must try again
I have no idea why Professor Corradino has so many bad reviews. She was a funny teacher who did in fact have problems with Canvas but made sure to address them properly. I would take again and do it all over again. Please beware of lazy people writing up these reviews this is an art HISTORY course... you have to do some work.
I took professor Corradino on summer B. The class consisted of a podcast project which was recorded on zoom, homework assignments which are online and tests which are also online and can be done at home. Lots of busy work but overall not a bad class.
I have never been more irritated with a professor than I have been in this course. She is the least understanding person you will ever have as a professor. Even if you have a LEGITIMATE excuse for missing absolutely anything, she will deduct nearly half points for the assignment. There is no need to be THAT strict over an elective course.
I've take this class during fall b, so it makes sense that there would be a lot of homwork from it. She's passionate on what she teaches. Many students did not know this before going in, but we are required to record a podcast episode in groups of 3, due around the end of the semester, the podcast episode is supposed to be 20 minutes long.
Absolutely horrible professor and worst experience in a class I've ever had. 100's of canvas announcements and pointless assignments due on the same day. Would rather be homeless than take her class again.
TAKE MY WORD AND DON'T TAKE HER CLASSES EVER. Failing a requirement course is hilarious. And she is not passionate about teaching or art history but torturing students. Other passionate professors don't teach or grade like her. May God give some happiness in her life because she has to stop taking her hatred for life on her students.
Second review I'm leaving b/c shes truly THAT horrible. Can't even keep up with everything she assigns, is currently failing me on a project my group turned in on time because she's getting me confused for not being in that group despite multiple emails and screenshots/emails proving turned in, said okay then forgot again and won't let me proceed.
The class itself is easy, however, the professor is such a pain. She is super unorganized. One moment you finish the assignment, the next she takes it down and puts in a new assignment. I took this class online maybe it is different in person, but if you are online do not take this proffesor. Also so much work for no reason.
The class is not hard, but the teacher gives so much work she doesn't even know how much she is giving. So many of her assignments I did and she took them down for some reason. Then I had to do a different assignment same chapter that didn't relate to the other. She is not a good communicator gave me attitude a couple of times. DO NOT TAKE HER!!!
Please stay away from this course! The amount of frusturation and stress. This Professor has caused not only I. But also classmates, is too high to ignore. The format and organization of this course is HORRIBLE. The assignments are spread over THREE websites. With one of them having issues. And Professor Corradino is neglectful in putting grades.
Was passing with an A the entire semester. Final textbook assignment comes and I get it done days before its due. Wake up to my grade at 60 and a 0 on said assignment. Showed proof, no budge. Had to finish with 70 and now the class didn't count towards a credit, and have to possibly retake it. Insanity. Don't take her. Find someone else.
I have NEVER written a review on a professor before and I've been in college for about two years. For starters, she ignores almost EVERYONE'S emails. Secondly, she gives a TON of work all due at once for no reason at all. Thirdly, you have to navigate THREE different platforms that you have to pay for to do her work. GUYS AVOID HER AT ALL COSTS!!
WORST TEACHER YOU COULD ASK FOR. She gets mad whenever u sent her emails and responds with an attitude.
Shes so messy, gives so many assignments that she loses track of how much busy work she assigns, gave on the first week of class over 30 assignments for the summer course and is slow in responding to concerns and even cancels extensions for no reason. And if you dont complete extra credit tasks, it harms your grade and docks points.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!!! This is an extremely time consuming and difficult class. Unless you are majoring in something in art, this is not a class you want to take. She gives an INSANE amount of reading with extremely harsh deadlines. She is impossible to communicate with. There are so many websites to use and keep track of. DO NOT TAKE!!!!!
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS EVEN IF ITS A LAST RESORT!!!! She will stress you out like no other teacher. She DOES NOT respond to messages through canvas and when she does, she does it with an extreme attitude like no other. I have stayed up till 3 AM doing her assignments and that with great time management skills. This class is not for the weak. DO NOT
Taking this class in summer and the amount of work is INSANE I'm currently doing her work as we speak and its 1:08 AM the work is UNBEARABLE I would rather stub my toe every morning then take her class again This class will drive you insane PLEASE avoid it at all costs I wouldn't wish this class on anyone I'm so close to a psychotic break
BEWARE!!! DO NOT TAKE FOR THE SAKE OF YOUR SANITY!!!!!! she gives SO MUCH WORK FOR NO REASON!!!!!! She assigns multiple assignments every week and I've had to pull so many all nighters. I'd rather eat the dirt off the bottom of my shoe than take this class again. Please save yourself and take another class to fulfill your credit.
Do Not Take So many assignments that are impossible to complete in the alotted time unless you do multiple all nighters Ive never met a more impossible teacher in my whole life Some assignments are so complicated you couldnt even complete them if you wanted to Please stay away I wish I wouldve but I didnt so now im suffering in the middle of summer
The amount of busy-work that she forces us to do in such little time is so comically absurd that I wasn't even angry. I've seen this before in other teachers. This is not how you teach. It's embarrassing that people still "teach" like this. Don't take this class or this teacher. Your time is more valuable than anything she has to say.
Dont take this class. She made me consider dropping out of FIU entirely. Has no empathy and is very condesending.
On the first day of class we had about 20 assignments to do and she wants you to work on her assignments all day everyday with like 0 breaks. She's not helpful at all and the outline of her course is messy. Do not take this class. I had to call the department head and settle for an INC grade and makeup work in the fall!!
I've never seen someone so petty and passive-aggressive. I recommend not one soul take this class it'll make you reconsider your decision to go here. The bookwork isn't too bad but the group projects the killer, often giving me or other classmates problems. Im telling you sniffing bath salts and Sneako's farts would be better than this course.
This class was fairly easy the tests and homework are manageable however, I would not recommend this class. The teacher made the class more difficult then it had to be often being unresponsive. Additionally when she would respond she was often a bit passive aggressive and would tell us to not contact her with questions. Overall the class was fine.
She's literally the worst. She has beef with another class after us for no reason. She is literally super petty and aggressive to students and other people who aren't in her class. Never take her class. It's a beginner art class it shouldn't be hard to understand her. DONT TAKE HER PLS!!!
This has been one of the worst classes I've ever taken in four years of college. It's an elective and it is treated like a core course. The professor has no respect for students who work and go to school full-time. Every week there 20 homework assignments plus a 40 to 50 question exam. The homework are not easy and require you to work in groups.
If you have a life outside of an Art appreciation class, do not bother.
I would not recommend taking this class. The professor was often unresponsive and passive-aggressive. Assignments were overly demanding, with unclear deadlines and little support. However, Unstuckstudy was a helpful study tool that made prepping for exams more manageable.
Not accessible outside of class but stacks assignment on assignment. Half grading was based on group projects. If your team never reached out to you, good luck! because you cannot complete it by yourself and there is no other option of completing that assignment. Other assignments were 2/3 or more hour long movies/videos and answering questions.
I would not take it again.
Extremely inefficient. Wants you to plan everything for your group project essentially in front of her even while in an asynchronous online class (like planning Group Zoom calls in discussion posts). Most of your grade is a group project. Do not take her.
She's nice but teaches a lot and there's no breaks in the 3 hour lecture, does group projects but doesn't really explain, its an easy A
Gives unclear instructions, 20+ assignments a week, and has a terrible attitude. The professor will not help you with anything. If you have a full schedule, this class will not help at all. The work isn't hard, but it is very overwhelming. I took a mini sem. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE IT. TAKE ANYTHING ELSE. ACTUALLY SUCH A WASTE OF TIME.
People who would say "Don't take her" are likely the same people who would take ceramics for an easy class, but would do nothing in that class and still complain about how hard it is. The prof is passionate and friendly. She gives extra credit constantly. Her hw and exams are easy. Podcast project is easy to handle if you have good teammates
