I loved this teacher. Everything was clear, intresting, and very undertandable. He goes out of his way to make things intresting and learnable. He was extremely helpful with questions, and he also had a sense of humor (which always lightens a class;) ). I would reccomend him to any student, he's the best teacher I've had at this CGCC yet.

Dr. Schiesser is an amazing teacher. He is witty, comical and overall makes the class fun and entertaining while still sticking to the basics. Get ready to diagram! I would definitely recommend him.

Great guy, wonderful teacher.

This guy is fun to listen to and he is extremely easy to talk to. He taught me all kinds of things. Things that really matter. I wasn't a straight A student then, but he always treated me like one. I'll never forget what he did for me on the day of the field trip. He'll always be my friend for that.

Dr. Roy was really helpful and friendly. Instead of Final at the end of the semester we got to go on a field trip to Lost Dutchman Park (Apache Junction, Az) it was so fun finding rocks, hiking for classmates, and take notes of characteristics of different kind of rocks, and when you get married he can help find which ring is real, price/quality.

Hilarious! Very George Carlin like with the timing of his jokes. Interesting class it changed my life.

Took Dr. Roy for GEO 101 and GEO 103 Fall '09 and am taking him for GEO 110 and GEO 111 Spring '10. Dr. Roy has been my favorite prof. at CGCC and I wasn't even interested in geo. I'd recommend him to anyone, he is the best! Got an A+ in both classes, super easy but you actually learn.

I have a HUGE crush on this man. Not to mention, I was never into geology until I took his class. The field trip is great, the discussions are better and his anecdotes are priceless. You will definitely be smarter after having taken any of his classes. He's got some smart people in there, too. They are all fun.

Dr. Roy is a great professor!! His stories and sense of humor really keep the class interesting. I would highly recommend this professor! The only reason I got a C is because my course load was pretty heavy this semester. Okay, I kind of slacked off too.

WOW! I have only been in his class for four days and I am floored... Best Teacher ever! There is no way I have enough room to say how amazing he is!! Take it even if you don't need it, one of those teachers that makes a difference and changes lives... just chat with him. I have never learned so much from a teacher, I've never retained so much.

Roy is a great prof. with an active interest in helping you learn the material. He does not let you slide by this class doing nothing, so pay attention and read the book, ask questions in lecture and take a lot of notes. You will be fine.

Roy is a great teacher! He REALLY loves rocks.. ALOT. You never need the book but you do need the lab manual for all the labs. I recommend him to anyone taking GLG!

Tells very funny stories!

He was the most legit professor ever. I'm taking more Geology classes just because of this man, though I would have never even thought about it before him. He goes off on hilarious stories, and rants which make the class so much fun. I would definitely recommend, as long as you'll attend and actually pay attention.

I loved his class! I have recommended him to several people and want to take another class from him. I had zero interest in the subject before his class but now I often toy with the idea of getting a degree in Geology. The book isn't needed but I read parts of it and it definitely helped me on the exams. Super nice guy! I loved to talk to him also!

He has a lot of passion for geology and explains the material very well. He will work with you to help you succeed. Tests are hard. You have to be very good at memorization to succeed in this class. There is a field trip and it will dramatically help your grade. Labs are easy. Excellent teacher!

Love Dr Roy. He's hilarious and a great professor, he knows his stuff for sure. I found his tests easy, but I pay attention and actually study. There is only one assignment (other than studying for exams) the entire semester, so that's a plus! Taking his GLG 110 course in the fall & I can't wait! Easiest science class out there, best professor too.

I had him for GLG 101 and 103. He is one of the best and easiest teachers I have had at CG. Take good notes in the lecture and show up for the lab and you will great. He does no homework and his tests are like the notes you take exactly.

Roy is the funniest professor I have ever had. Not only is he hilarious, but he is also a genius and teaches with passion. He's a no BS kind of professor. He doesn't try to trick you or manipulate questions. He's down to earth and real and having him as a professor for summer school was a blessing.

He is a very good teacher but his language is too off colored for my standards. He'd be perfect besides that.

Roy is an amazing teacher, funny as hell, down to earth, and very clear with his teaching. He makes stuff funny when it would usually be boring, and can appeal to a young crown which is great. His tests are though VERY tricky if you don't have the book or study prior. If you study hard you'll be fine, but don't show up without opening the book.

Amazing, enthusiastic professor. Easy class and makes you somewhat interested in geology. If you need a science credit, take this class. 4 exams (just read notes you take in class) and one powerpoint presentation (you don't actually need to present). Never used the textbook, but did need the lab manual.

Dr. Roy has been my favorite teacher at Chandler-Gilbert, and I've had a lot of great professors here! Roy's class is great, read the book and show to class and you'll have an A on the exams. As long as you do your work and pay attention, he helps you out so much. Lab was super easy as well. *ROY FOR PRESIDENT!!*

The material is not necessarily easy but he makes it as simple as possible and is very clear on what he is testing on. Should be a relatively easy A for anyone willing to put in the effort.

Dr Schiesser is an awesome professor. He is oddly funny and he teaches with a lot of passion so lectures are pretty interesting. His class is strictly exams that are pretty tough and one project so i HIGHLY SUGGEST studying often. He teaches a lot so missing will definitely hurt but as long as you engage and study, you'll be okay.

Roy is the best! Seriously. Had no idea how interesting this class could be, but I am so glad I chose to take it with him!! He provides great lectures along with whiteboard notes and he is absolutely hilarious! I always told him he reminded me of Jeff Goldbloom! This was a geological disasters class. It was interesting, and engaging. Schiesser has a unique way of getting the class to participate. Tests are tough, but he is a fair grader. This will challenge your perception of the earth.

Literally Dr. Roy has been the best professor i have ever had up to this point, he is not only very well respected by his peers, but also his students . When my college carrier is over it will give me much joy looking back and being able to have had such a great teacher like him self .I learned so much from his class and would highly recommend it.

Roy is a great teacher he explains everything in great detail and he is funny which makes the class more interesting. His Big tests are hard but if you put some effort into studying you will do good. If you are ever sick just send him an email and he will understand and he will let you make up your homework.

He takes a subject that most people would have little interest in and really makes you care. His lectures are far from boring and he answers questions thoroughly. He's a no bs kind of guy which is great. If you pay attention and do the study guides you should have no problem getting a desirable grade.

Professor Schiesser is a great Geology professor. At first I had little interest in geology, and wasn't sure what to expect. Mr. Schiesser tells it how it is, plain and simple. He is very good at explaining how geology works, and has a lot of interesting insights to the issues that relate to geology. I recommend Mr. Schiesser for you Geo courses.

Favorite teacher ever. I had to take this class during summer and he definitely made it worth it and fun! His lectures were super interesting and he interacts a lot with his students and helped us out as much as possible. Would definitely take him again if he offered other classes! & he's super funny! & extra credit available. Super interesting!

Roy was hands down the best teacher I have ever had at Chandler Gilbert. If you need a geology course you'd be silly to not take his class. He explains the content extremely well using mostly pictures and diagrams that would not have made sense any other way. He is always willing to answer questions and is very clear what's going to be on the test.

I took Dr. Roy for my Summer GLG class and he has easily become my favorite teacher in those 5 weeks. He was by far the most entertaining teacher I've had, and very enthusiastic. The "lectures" are actually fun because they aren't your traditional boring PowerPoint presentation, but rather he tells it like a story with drawings and such. Take him!

Amazing teacher. Super easy with tests,grading, and projects. Makes the class super fun and interesting. You won't fail at all if you just show up to class, pay attention to lecture and do good on tests. You don't do homework which is the most fun part and you can still pass with a good grade definitely recommend this professor for Geology.

However, he does expect you to pay attention. His exams are relatively easy if you just listen and not be on your phone. One of the coolest guys as a person as well!

Roy Schiesser is a good teacher for geology. He will teach you everything you need to know. His tests can be heavy and a bit difficult, but as long as you study you'll do good. Everything he teaches you is in the test and he always gives hints to what is on the test

I took Professor Schiesser for GLG 110 and the lab GLG 111. He is the best professor I've ever taken. GLG 110 is lecture heavy with one giant project that is extremely easy. He takes attendance at random. The GLG 111 lab is also easy, attendance is mandatory &amp; he takes it every class. No tests for lab. I would take his classes again in a heartbeat!

Roy is actually the best professor you can take at Chandler-Gilbert. He's not from around here... He's literally one of the funniest professors I've ever had. His teaching style is so extremely thought out its amazing. His class is not hard at all if you show up and take notes on his lectures. Attendance is not mandatory but SHOW UP!

This was the best class I've ever taken &amp; the best professor I've ever had. I found the content extremely interesting &amp; I enjoyed every class so it made it easier. There are a 3 large tests, a couple of pop quizzes done to monitor attendance, and one large project that is very easy &amp; done throughout the entire semester. You must read &amp; take notes

Dr. Roy is amazing! I totally thought that this was just going to be another boring science class. Dr. Roy goes above and beyond to ensure that the class is entertaining and we are able to stay focused on the content! Best class I have EVER taken. If I could, I would totally take it again!!!

The course was not easy but a good proffessor teaches. I learned more from this course than I did in any other classroom I have walked into. He teaches about stuff that is occurring in the real world for example the minerals making up the technologies of today where are they found. The subject of geology became so incredibly interesting. Phenomenal

He made my morning class way more enjoyable than I thought! He presents his lectures with amazing scientific facts and always adds a little sense of humor as well! GLG102 had a lot of difficult material and reading, but the way the class is organized makes it easy to learn. Also, the field trip is really fun. Take this class!
