Lectures are OK. Easy class if you are an independent learner. If Roy would be willing to change a few things about his teaching methods, this could be a great class. He is hyper(!)critical of written material. Doesn't care to motivate students. I was reluctant to challenge myself, because Roy would rather see perfection than interest and effort.

the grading system was C was a B, B was an A, etc. did not have to be in class since the material was online. you can get a good grade but it's not really worth it. his feedback didn't really help and he would reply by saying some really questionable things.

I took this class online and I'm thankful for that, this class seems so much harder in person. Online it wasn't too bad, just watch the lectures and take the quizzes. He's very knowledgeable on the subject, but his lectures are much longer than needed. Watch on 1.5x speed, trust me. Overall if you know the content this class shouldn't be too bad.

I want to start off by saying that I don't have anything against Mr.Baur but I really wish he would change the way he teaches his classes. This class was very lecture-heavy and only featured quizzes and tests. This makes it so if you pass you pass if you don't, well pray for some luck. Material for learning is also hard to find making studying hard

He somehow enjoys cursing in his announcements, albeit much less frequent than students, but far more than the average instructor. Very blunt in grading, especially on free response questions, so get ready to get graphically berated. Don't bother with the readings, the quizzes and tests are only based on lectures. Rude in response as well.

Had the worst experience ever. Don't ever take a class with Bauer!!! Class is solely based on quizzes and tests, no homework. Quizzes and tests are really hard as he makes the questions very confusing and often seems opposite of what he said in lecture. Very hard to get a good grade on the short answer because he believes everyones a bad writer.

Would take again

Professor Bauer was such an inspiring professor. The way he engaged with the world was truly inspiring, and he always stood up for what was right. I hope future professors will strive to be as passionate and stand to make a difference in their community the way Prof. Bauer did. Truly inspiring.

Professor Bauer's class is a roller coaster. The lectures can be rambling and the quizzes/tests confusing, but engaging with the material and using tools like unstuckstudy ai can really help. Attendance is a must, and the workload is heavy, but the content is interesting if you put in the effort.
