He is a tough grader but not impossible. You write alot of essays but they are only 250 words. He gives you what to study for the exams and if you do the readings the pop quizzes are easy. Wiley plus helps alot. He lectures with the light off so drink your caffein or take this class when you are most likely going to stay awake. I enjoyed this class

Fontaine makes it very clear what you will be tested on if you visit Plato everyday and print the Key Terms list. There is also an optional Supplemental Instruction to attend once a week for an hour where you get Chapter worksheets and answers. As long as you read your notes before class, always attend & give effort a B is manageable.

I enjoy Dr. Fontaine immensely. He's very intelligent & his lectures are interesting. There is assigned reading for every class along with chapter key terms to learn. He assigns essays directly related to the upcoming test which allows you to grasp the concepts better. He loves pop quizzes-keeps you on your toes. Studying is a necessity!

WORST PROFESSOR! He is a very nice man, but does not know how to teach. He does not grade right at all. He does not give you the right materials to study. He also mumbles when he gives lectures so you cant understand a word he says. I would advise anyone not to take him.

Dr. Fontaine is a great teacher. He posts power points and key terms on plato every week to follow during lecture. His exams are multiple choice. He advises that you go to the SI (supplemental instruction) every week to gather those materials. The woman in charge of that is great as well. She hands out chapter packets that really help for exams.

Expect a weekly pop quiz and short essay, but neither are very difficult. His tests can be challenging but he gives you all of the terms you need to study way in advance and that's all you need to study for the exams. If you can sit up front because he can be hard to hear but he is very nice and pretty entertaining.

Nice guy but all around awful teacher. He mumbles, studders constantly and will randomly yell just for the heck of it. Never clear on what kind of questions will be on the test, is not willing to give extra help. Be prepared to just sit in class and listen to him ramble while wondering where your thousands of dollars are going.

He's a good teacher. I have to say, I'm probably the worst student he has. I don't really show up, most of the time I am late, however I have been keeping up with the book on my own and have been doing well. Every class period is a lecture, he does give "pop" quizzes but if you keep up with the readings you shouldn't have a problem.

Great prof, but he can mumble, so sit as close to front as you can. Has weekly 1 page papers that are great at reinforcing concepts/applying them to the real world. Breaks down each chapt. into 2 or 3 classes & posts ppts, so print them out before class (3 slides/page) & use them to take notes on what he says. Final essays are written out of class.

Gives you a paper with 70+ terms and expects you to know the definition and an example of each term for the test. The tests are super tricky and make you second guess yourself. Also, there is about 2 pop quizzes every week worth only 5 points, but they add up. You also get a paper to write due every week.

As long as you show up to class, do your essays that are assigned on Plato and look over notes before class, you should be fine. I highly recommend taking notes on your own time, and just listen during class. Also, the day an essay is due, youll most likely have a pop quiz.
