One of the best teachers I've had. He's totally funny and knows everything about business and marketing. You hardly need the book and the quizes (if he remembers to give them) are multiple choice and totally easy if you pay attention.

Took his Advertising class last semester and LOVED IT! Currently taking his Marketing class and LOVE IT! Roy is knowledgable and makes every experience awesome. Majority of teachers today aren't like Roy, and they need to be.

The main reason this class is so fun and interesting is because of Roy. He clearly knows and enjoys his subject and does a good job of teaching it. I think he's such a good teacher because he knows marketing inside out and so he knows how to market his classes to his students.

I like the promotions management class. Everyone has fun, but it should be a 4 unit class. If you are taking any other classes, be prepared to work! You can also put this on your resume, it's a win-win situation! He's a little guy, but he's cute.

Excellent Professor! His enthusiasm for the subject in entirely addicting. Roy's knowledge of the subject is astounding. Attendance is a must, grade drops after 4 absenses... Also, reading the text is extremely helpful. The exams are easy if you pay attention in class & do the reading. *A highly recommended Professor in ANY of his classes.

Totally awesome teacher! One of my favorites, keeps the class informed as well as fun. Very entertaining guy, I learned a lot from him, I will be definitely be taking advertising with him. Not a professor at the JC more in the Marketing Business and he does this on side, I think and I agree that more teachers should be more like Roy.

I am a marketing major and loved this class. he is a very entertaining lecturer. very funny. You should definitely read the book, because he bases his lectures on examples that back up the text. There is not a lot of work, i think we had 2 quizs and then a large project at the end of the semester. I loved this class.

Awesome teacher with real life experience. In another life he could have been a stand-up comic. Must attend class, reading textbook is necessary for tests, but you don't bring them to class. 2 or 3 homework assignments per semester. Easy and tons of fun but you still learn!

Roy is by far my favorite teacher at the SRJC. He's really funny and his lectures are enjoyable. He goes off on tangents a lot, but they were entertaining. If you read or pay attention in class you will get an A easily. Only hmwrk is reading and one project at end of semester. If you're interested in Marketing at all I highly recommend this class

He is incredibly funny, full of sense of humor, most of his jokes are made to deliver lessons, so you'll learn in a fun way. Not trying to exaggrate but your purpose to go to school is just to get in his class and enjoy whatever he feeds you.

His class was basically the morning comedy hour. Even if you're retarded you will pass the class and have a good time. He's a slick mofo, but still a gentleman thru and thru. I messed up big time in his class but if you're a Business Major you'll fit right in.

I love Roy's classes. He made me intrigued by marketing. I took 2 more of his classes this semester. He is informational but direct and he has great skills as far as reaching the individual student. Class participation is truly enjoyable in his classes. He still looks like jack from will & grace though.

This class is so much fun! Super lax teaching style but you learn so much. I hated marketing going into this class and loved his classes so much I ended up taking all of them and switching my major to marketing/advertising! A chance to take this class shouldn't be missed, you'll love it.

He has a great sense of humor! His teaching is humorous that helps make great examples to remember. Never a dull moment. Textbook is important to read, some notes, and test are fair: U read the book, u pass. All his examples are from his job as a marketer, so he knows his stuff.

I almost dropped the class the first week because the professor's vocabulary was unnecessarily crude - it was distracting. F-bombs left and right. Once I got past that, the content was current, relevant, and interesting. Lectures ended up being entertaining. Very easy to get a good grade if you show up for class.

Entertaining, informative, wakes ya up in the mornings, haha. Interested in hearing everyone's POV. Easy exams (if you COME TO CLASS and read the chapters) & a project (fun) near the end of the semester. Would definitely take a class from him again!

Go Roy! You can tell from the first day of class that this is a divergent genius. He loves what he's doing, and brings a lot of comical and creative energy to class, which is mostly looking at goofy ads. Too easy; I felt he could have assigned us more creative work to have taken more out of the class. Textbook used like twice.

This is my second class with Roy and I am in love with this program! He is a real marketing guy and is super passionate about what he does. He expects you to read the textbook, but I didn't. If you show up to class everyday you get the most out of it and can be prepared for the three tests and the project at the end of the semester.

Awesome professor, he is a really down to earth, understanding, fun teacher who really involves everyone in his class. Just go to class and do the homework (not like there are more than 2 or 3 assignments all semester anyway!) and come up with some good creative ideas and you will be guaranteed a good grade. RESPECT HIM he will thank you for it!

DOESN'T TAKE ENOUGH TIME REVIEWING STUDENT WORK. The T.A. grades virtually all the quizzes, and Roy only skims over the final exams. I know he's a busy dude, I just wish he would spend more time looking over some of our work – his word and feedback means more to me than any other teacher I've ever encountered

Roy's BAD 10 class is incredibly easy, but also informative. He teaches you a lot of stuff you couldn't learn from a textbook. The class consists of reading quizzes on the textbook, a book review, a stock project, and a final. I found all of these to be straight forward and easy, and would recommend his class to anyone. Also he's hilarious.

I've taken several of his classes and have loved all. He is the reason I have stuck with my major (marketing). I'm actually excited for what lies ahead in my career thanks to his lectures. Not only is he a great speaker but is hysterical as well, be prepared to laugh HARD.

Hilarious dude, and super easy class. The textbook is a must since theres weekly quizzes for every chapter (true/false and multiple choice) There's two easy assignments which make up 40% of your grade and a final which is in the exact same format of the quizzes. He also gives out a detailed study guide with page numbers to study which is great.

Roy is an excellent instructor and won't waste your time with textbook regurgitation. He expects you to come to class with the textbook reading done, so he can use class time to apply (far more interesting and useful) real-life applications to what you read. He has sharp wit, keeps the energy flowing in class, and assigns a reasonable work load.

Roy is a great teacher! He makes learning fun and participation in class just makes the whole class environment friendly. Show up to class on time or you'll miss the quizzes. There is one book report and a stock market project, neither is graded harshly. Sit in front of the class and participate!

Super fun, hilarious, makes me consider switching to marketing major! Highly recommend! You will need the textbook because he has daily quizzes based directly from the book. Quizzes are ONLY given in class, so you have to go every day, yes the count towards final grade, but they're very easy, just read the chapter review for "quiz prep"

10/10 would recommend. Roy is no doubt one of my top favorite instructors. He is far from a professors and more of a business man. With that being said, he uses personal experience to give examples to his students, which I much prefer than learning from the book. Overall, great man and great class.

Gattinella was awesome! I had him for my class online this spring. The daily discussion were always easy to follow and correlated with the textbook. There was a free online text book that we used, which was extremely helpful. The only that that bothered me about him is that he never responded to my emails.

He's an engaging professor with interesting lectures and lots of knowledgable background. Didn't necessarily need to take his class for my major but he opened my eyes to aspects of marketing that make a business successful. Reading is pretty optional since there's no pop quizzes on it but read before class to participate. Favorite class!

If you decide not to take one of his classes you have the ability to take, you are missing out on the best teacher you will ever have. Roy makes everything interesting and just hilarious. Every class period is like an interactive stand-up act based around brands and the ways they use marketing. Can I take this again??

Roy is absolouty hilarious. You dont really take notes in his class but you still learn a lot. I cant remember if I actually need this class for transfer credit but Im taking all of his classes regardless, hes great. Id say the book is needed for tests if you want to get an A. The class is an easy A if you pay attention and voice your self.

It is nice to have a teacher that really inspires you in the field you are interested in pursuing. When a person is not meant to teach, it can interfere with the motivation & intended course of the student. His teachings are direct, educational, and entertaining. Gattinella is a phenomenal professor. He is a very interesting guy and lectures reflect his extensive knowledge in the business realm. The exams were not too hard for me. They required some studying and last minute review for me to do well on them. This was one of my only classes that I enjoyed going to.

Roy's class does not pile stress onto your life like many other classes do during the pandemic and online school. He's qualified, very funny and easygoing, and really cares about his students. You are lucky if you get to take his class.

bmk57,59,50. I opened the reading once and only since i missed a class. The books helped my classmates but he goes over the reading everyday so take notes and you will be fine. In the 8 week classes there are 10 assignments worth 10 points each so do all of them. He is political but makes the class fun. First time i was not falling asleep in class.

I took him for BMK50, BMK57, and BMK59. He was how I expected the class to be. Very understanding and easy, especially as someone who took bmk50 as the last class of my marketing certificate so I already knew everything we were learning but it was still interesting and felt like he explained his points well through the activities.

Prof Gattinella is a blast - his lectures are engaging and he makes the material easy to understand. Using unstuck AI and the free textbook really helped with study prep. Overall, a great class that's worth taking.

So hilarious and his class was engaging. I loved how passionate he seemed while teaching the lectures. He tries his best to always engage with all his students. Also quickly responds to emails and gives opportunities to better your grade.
