Rambles alot, not a good stats teacher, he know more about farms than stats

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS! he teaches about health related topics, and then assigns homework! basically, you have to teach yourself. the quizes are pointless, yet the whole 2 tests arent that bad

he gets soooo off topic and doesnt teach. allows notecards on tests and they arent that bad b/c he is kinda dumb and makes his tests dumb...take him if you dont mind teaching yourself and learning NOTHING

CAN'T TEACH! Go to the stat. lab in burruss for Mr. Cunningham if you need help. You'll probably fail the tests because he is not helpful at all. Boring, too. Try not to get him- very frusterating.

not very helpful. Bad teacher, too many pointless stories. If you dont mind an F then by all means take his class.

he does not teach stats at all but rambles about everything else under the sun and then laughs at his "jokes" frequently. anything you learn from this class will be what you teach yourself, so if you have to take it with him, save your $$!

He's awful! he rambles on and on and on...and he makes no sense! He laughs at his own jokes, and doesn't explain anything well. It's easy if you have a stat course in high school, but otherwise it's hard to keep up, since he doesn't explain anything.

A nice, adorable old man...but likes to hear himself ramble on about random tangents and laughs at his own jokes. Doesn't teach material...students learn strictly from the book and classmates.

worst teacher ever, does not teach at ALL and soo boring. go for it, if you want to teach yourself everything.

hes a very nice old man, but horrible teacher. class average on last test was a 50. everyone fails, and he doesnt really care. dont take him unless you have a knowledge of stats before or want to teach yourself everything

he laughs at his own jokes, sweet old man but can't teach. very unclear and doesn't know how to explain problems, don't take this class... if you want to repeat it.

If you take this class be prepared to teach yourself. There are "Pop" quizzes once a week that are only two questions, and are fairly easy. Tests are really hard and long but he says he curves the grades if everyone does bad.

HE CANNOT TEACH AND DOES NOT CARE. He says that he curves the grades at the end possibly, however I wouldn't rely on his numbers..haha..teach yourself and you'll be straight otherwise fail

I've NEVER had a hard time with math until this class. You must be able to teach yourself the material since he just rambles about whatever is on his mind. Tests aren't too bad, but there's not really a point in ever going to class. He is a really nice guy though, and eerily resembles Santa.

HORRIBLE teacher, possibly the worst I've ever had! He does not teach but maybe 20 minutes of every hour, and spends the rest of the time either counting cars out the window or going over homework on the overhead (and his handwriting is not exactly legible). This man should STOP TEACHING.

oh roy .............he trys to be funny but isnt he trys to help you and explain but cant basically hes worthless....just laugh at his jokes. be prepared to teach yourself. switch if you can.

RUN!!! Unless you are some kinda genius in stat, I am awesome at math and still got a B in the class. He doesnt know how to teach, although he is a nice guy. His tests are impossible to get higher than a B- on.....RUN

He is a very nice man but a HORRIBLE teacher! He is hard to follow and understand in class and he beats around the bush when you ask questions. His test are very hard and he grades even harder. I would not recommend this professor!

i learned more about statistics in high school. quizzes are a waste of time, tests are difficult, sporadically collects homework for grading.

only take this class ifyou have taken stats before. you basically have to teach yourself from the book because he doesnt really teach anything. if you have questions he'll answer them, but you still have to teach yourself.

If you can teach yourself or go to the math center you'll be fine. His tests problems are always from homework- so if you go over all the h/w problems, youll be fine. The true/false and multiple choice are the hardest part- confusing. Quizzes in class but not mandatory attendance, goes off on tangents in class talkin about random things ALL the tim

I did well in calculus and took this as a major requirement, and ended up dropping. He doesn't teach - and once, when someone asked a question about the homework he told the student to go to the Math Resource Center. Beyond boring, talks about nothing all period. Take another professor or be prepared to waste your time.

He's a really nice/sweet guy, but he doesn't teach at all. He never checks your homework problems, but it's a good idea to do them because thats where a few test questions come from. He tries to answer questions, but just ends up confusing you more.

He wasted too much class time when I took him. Talking about the NCAA Final Four for 15 minutes doesn't help you learn the material. The only way to do well in this class is to teach yourself the material and go to his office hours, a lot. He's a terrible professor.

Stay away from any courses he teaches. He's a nice guy, but he feels it's more important to talk about his life than Math. He doesn't even know the material he's trying to teach,and then tests you on this very same stuff that he has no clue how to solve. How do you expect your students to pass the tests when you can't solve the questions yourself

I am an A student and I got Ds and Cs on the tests because they were not fair at all. He does, however, curve the tests and gives a lot of extra points at the end of the semester if you've done the homework problems. I ended up with an A because of it. Boring but sometimes bearable. Talks about himself a lot instead of teaching.

he looks like santa clause and all he does is talk about the old days.i went to class sometimes and didn't pay attention and did none of the homework and ended up gettin a B by teaching myself cause he's no help.he curves the test and gives you a notecard so they're not that bad but class sessions are horrible

What ever you do, do not take his class!!!He does nothing but talk and tell stories all that time. He will assign homework problems and expect you to know what to do w/out explaination. Then when he give test he takes off for the stupidest things. If you need this course as a course requirement, take someone else.

doodled when i went and got the highest grade in the class. he's freaking easy. unless you've never taken stat before, then you might fail if you don't self-teach some things. cause he doesn't like teaching, he likes telling stories.

he's a nice guy, but his teaching skills are horrible. going to class was dreadful. his tests were curved beyond belief, but they were still extremely hard. you have to do all the hw/take notes (bc it helps at the end) and be prepared to self-teach yourself. an

he cant teach. he talks about random things: gambling, his kids, car accidents, etc. you have to teach yourself or go to the math center. DONT TAKE THIS CLASS. and the tests are not relevant to what he talks about in class.

Heatwole is a nice guy and he definitely knows his stuff. But he's way past his prime in teaching and his class is very difficult. You have to teach yourself which is not easy because the text book used isn't the best at explaining. But keep up with your work or else you'll fall behind, making the class more difficult then it already is.

I didn't learn anything in this class, but if you know how to teach yourself from a textbook i guess you will do well. Takes attendance but i didnt loose points for hardly ever showing up. Hard to follow...i slept so much. If you have to take him, do it later in the day.

If you have taken stats in high school I would say take him, if not take someone else. He does not teach at all, but if you do the assigned problems you will be fine. All of his test questions come from those problems and an 83 and above is an A!! Overall an awful teacher but if you already know statistics you will be fine.

Everyone says he is a nice guy and he is. But if you want to get a good grade in Stats DO NOT take him. He rambles on all class about useless information that pertains only to his life. He does not teach anything thats not directly from the book. he does curve his entire grading scale but grades so strictly it doesn't help do not take if first time

Nice guy, but would be better as a grandfather than a professor. He always goes off on tangents about nothing and when he does teach, it's straight from the book. I end up teaching myself more than I learn in class. I gave a test back to get a question looked at; he gave me points back, but took off more for a question he "forgot" to grade. AVOID.

only reason why i would recommended this professor is because of his ginormous curve. I literally never paid attention in class, just studied for each test the night before and taught myself everything. He gives pop quizzes but you can make them up if you have an excuse.

Roy's a nice guy. BUT he doesn't teach. I took stats in high school (and it was a legit class) and I'm only doing okay in Roy's class. Get out if you can class is beyond boring. Only take this class if you can teach yourself from the book or had a really good stats class in high school.

Heatwole is not a good professor. He curves so that the university won't notice that none of his students understand the material. Teaches straight out of the book, on the rare occasion that he's teaching. If you want to learn something, get a different prof. Really nice guy, but he is not a good teacher.

Okay....Heatwole is a nice man....sweet old grandfather but to be completely honest, he cannot teach. Maybe 80 years ago,he could have done a could job. But he is way too old now. He wanted to help during office hours and he did his best to reward effort but I did not understand the material AT ALL. I somehow got a B but he saw that I was trying.

He is a good guy and will go above and beyond to help you, IF you force him to. Although his classes were not helpful and he really struggles to communicate the information. I took stats in high school and was still completely lost majority of the semester, after reteaching myself everything i somehow managed to pull out a B. take at your own risk.

By far one of the sweetest profs you will ever have. Although attendance is mandatory, he is very understanding and rarely counts you unexcused if you let him know you'll be absent. The material is VERY confusing if you've never taken stats before. He likes to read straight from the book. He is willing to work with your schedule for exams :)
