This is the best professor we have ever had. We took all his science classes and we enjoyed every minute of them. His life stories are priceless and he has an answer for everything. We love you Santa!!!!!!!

Great professor! Dr. Mason is the most caring person ever! In the year I was with him I never saw him angery or upset once. He explained things in a way that was very easy for me to understand (he relates everything to life stories). Dr. Mason is very easy. If you don't care about learning, you won't have too, but you will still get a good grade - just donate blood and watch a couple of movies. I wouldn't take his majors classes, I was afraid I wouldn't learn enough to succeed in upper division classes. Sorry Dr. Mason... You're nice, but I value my education too much.

He was an awesome instructor. He expained everythng to the fullest because he wanted his students to be sucessful. The class was hard but he made it as easy and interesting as he could.

Online summer class - this college's BEST online teacher! All others need to learn from him. His two assistants are very helpful also. Dr. Mason is excellent at responding to emails and makes sure that you understand the topic. Wonderful teacher - this college needs a LOT more like him!

I took the biology online class last summer (05), and it was the smartest thing I ever did. Dr. Mason and his assistant are thorough and extremely quick at getting back to you. Dr. Mason is the best teacher of all time. He made bio more interesting and exciting. He had the funniest stories. He knew everything about biology. I'm currently taking bio 115 fast trac online and he is GREAT! It's a ton of work but him and his assitant are very sweet. I don't know if it's just because of the holidays, but they have been pushing back the assignment due dates to give us extra time (they say its an early Christmas present, but I'm sure they would do that in Spring semester too)

Mason is def. a very special person! He is ALWAYS upbeat and positive. If your having trouble with anything he is super helpful and there is NO reason why anyone shoud get less then an A in the class b/c he provides pleanty of extra credit and addition help..made lect. intresting and his stories are HILARIOUS! I took his animal behavior class, and it is really easy, you dont really have to attend class, but you should because he tends to pass out all the exams and projects in class, we had three take home exams, and four reading assignments, as well as a final project. He is really understanding and hes always in a good mood.

I took his animal behavior class and it was pretty easy. There is a final project which requires you to go to the zoo, write a paper, and make a presentation,towards the end of his class you might be a bit busy.You dont have to show up all the time but you should because that is when he passes out all of the take home exams.

I took his class online and it was easy. test were open book and the labs were easy as well. The bad thing though is that there is a test every two or three days. But i highly recommend this instructor. I am glad i took him for online. I would take him for my next course.

Dr. Mason has got to be one of the best teachers at Mt. San Jacinto. He made biology interesting and his stories are really funny. He's very laxed with due dates of assignments/tests and he gives you 3 times to take a test. He gives LOTS of extra credit, too. Go to class, do the labs, you'll absolutely LOVE his class!

His T.A. was there more often because of his family problems, it was a great class and he was a great teacher. Took the 8week course online, it was fast paced. I loved how the due date schedule was there and we could see what we needed to do. The tests can be taken multiple times, so find ways to save the answers from your first tries!

We are only half way into the semester but so far he's been absent for 2 weeks worth of class, which is upsetting b/c our class really likes him. He's got a great personality that makes you want to learn whatever he is teaching and he makes the lectures fun. I will be taking him for my other bio classes. Hes also very lenient with hw and such

Dr. Mason was great! The class was fast paced, but he gives you all the due dates way in advance. He gives mult. choice tests & you can take them mult. times for the best grade. Print your test results so you can use the answers for the next attempt.

easiest class i have EVER taken! all of the tests are online and you have a week and three tries to take them. i pretty much never went to class and still got an a! Dr. Mason is the jolliest and happiest person i have ever met! he is such a sweet heart and super helpful!

The first thing you notice about Dr.Mason is his infectious smile. Anyone can see that he truly has a passion for his field as well as for teaching. He isn't very strict but he is very knowledgeable about science and is able to clarify anything you might have a question about. I would recommend everyone take Dr.Mason at least once. :=)

I have taken Dr. Mason twice now for both his ENVS and BioL 115 classes, and he is by far my favorite prof. at MSJC. hes helpful, nice, and makes the subject interesting. He loves what he does, and whats you to love it too. his bio lab class has alot of work, but he gives so much time to turn it in and get full credit the dates dont matter.I recomm

Easiest class ever! There are 4 tests (all online including the final) and you have to go on 2 out of 3 field trips and do an assignment with them. It's pretty interesting too and Doctor Mason is so nice and funny!

The best professor ever. He really cares about his students and wants them to get excited about biology. He has more energy than my three year old granddaughter. The class and lab work are substantial. However, if you show up and do all of the work there is no reason why you should not get an A.

Took Biol-115 online - short term class. There is A LOT of work!! You will spend hours a week doing the assignments/labs. The work is very time consuming, but it's all very do able. I have no interest in science and received an A. Tests can be taken multiple times and a good amount of extra credit offered. Recommend this class!

Dr. Mason is hands down awesome. Took him for the honors seminar as well as BIO-115H online. Bio was a lot of work, but it was fairly easy. Dr. Mason tries to make sure everything is explained. He's a super cool guy with a passion for science, and is always willing to work with his students.

Wonderful professor! However be warned that this is a very difficult course with a lot of reading, writing and lab work. There are 1 to 2 exams each week, weekly outside journal reading on top of mandatory text book reading, a field trip and weekly DB postings. Just stay on top of your work and you WILL do well! This class is super simple. You must attend 2/4 field trips but do not even have to go as long as you fill out the worksheet pertaining to the trip. 3 online tests and then the final. This class is super easy and Mr. Mason is the nicest guy around. Take the tests that have multiple attempts and you'll easily get an A.

Dr. Mason is a very smart, kind man who loves to have fun and interact with the students! The class is pretty easy and his tests are online and open book. He is easy to approach and he keeps the class interesting and fun!

Dr. Mason is without a doubt one of the teaching greats. His absolute passion in this world is teaching. This course has weekly group labs, no homework, 4 field trips (observatory, botanical garden, zoo and aquarium), and 3 take home tests with 3 attempts each. Super easy class, with one of the best instructors. You can't lose.

Dr. Mason is really down to earth and easy going. He has a great sense of humor and is full of funny stories about his life. Unfortunately, this semester, he said he is having an "easy" class for us and he doesn't lecture much. Every day, he comes into class, puts on a video from Ted or Youtube and he lets the video do the lecturing. Very boring.

This isn't an easy A class. Weekly schedule is discussion boards, 1-2 test, writing assignment, 1-2 labs & readings. I wouldn't say this class is hard just a lot of work. You get 3 chances on each test. The writing assignments are easy 300words min. Labs varied long, short or movie. Gives Extra Credit.

I love Dr. Mason he is passionate about teaching sciences! I previously took him for environmental so I had to take him for Bio. It was honestly an easy A. Lots of online work (easy) but if you do it all you are guaranteed an A. Allowed to retake tests and extra credit is available which is a bonus.

Dr. Mason is amazing and compassionate. Most important thing is being on top of assignments, especially labs. Do as much as u can and u'll pass his class. He gives 2nd opportunity to retake exams. Probably one of the best instructors in my opinion. Highly recommended.

You can take the exams up to 3xs; you will get the highest grade of the 3. Took a minute to grade assignments - I took his hybrid full 18 week class.

I took him for the 8 week online course. A LOT of work: 2-3 labs week, 2 exams, a reading assignment, and discussion board per week. Make sure you get AHEAD in your work because if you wait the last minute you will become overwhelmed. it's a lot but Dr. Mason is a great instructor who wants to make sure you excel in the class and get a good grade.

I took the fast track for this class (8 weeks) and this class was super easy. All of the assignments were super easy and as long as u do them u will get an A. The assignments can take up a lot of time especially the labs. Don't get me wrong though, this class is super easy and u'll get an A as long as u do something. Tests are easy A and online.

I took the fast pace 8 week class. The labs are easy but there are a few that take several days so make sure you read the labs ahead of time. Writing assignments were easy, discussion boards easy, and tests were easy. Missed 2 labs, 2 discussion boards and still got an A.

Dr. Mason was by far my favorite professor! I took him summer 17 and I am now on my 5th semester at MSJC. He is very understanding and he responds to emails latest 1 day! Easy A!

Dr. Mason has amazing enthusiasm. His Plant Biology course is fun. I took his course Fall 2017. This class is an easy A for a non science major. Just show up every day and do your lab work and you will get an A for sure. Dr. Mason also schedules really cool field trips which he gives you 100% for attending and are waited as much as exams.

Professor Roy Mason has to be one of the coolest professors I have taken at MSJC. I took a 8 week fast track BIO-115 class with him. I did not anticipate just how hard it would be to take while working and playing on an athletic team. Dr. Mason was understanding and was easy to communicate with via email and canvas. I would recommend his class!

This was an online short term. This class had a lab so there was A LOT of work but that is not a reflection of the professor. Dr. Mason was awesome. He's hilarious and always responds to emails fairly quickly. His grading isn't bad but you do need to fill all labs out fully to get a good grade. Tests are fairly easy and help balance the grade.

Dr. Mason was a great teacher. Yes, there are labs, and tests, and discussion boards, but its to be expected. This was the most clear, well explained class I've taken. For every lab there was an announcement and a little joke or story which i enjoyed. I had something come up once, and he was very understanding. Easily best professor I've had.

Absolute favorite Professor! I took his class last minute and it was actually wonderful. While the class itself may need you to try at least, he gives plenty of time and support with assignments. This professor defined my first half of the fall 2020 semester. I was struggling with my classes in general and he went beyond his scope as a professor to give me extra time to complete assignments. After the class ended (it was a short term class) he allowed me extra time to finish by giving me an Incomplete. I made it out with an A. Great guy!

I took his 8 week class and though it is a LOT of reading and work he was extremely kind and understanding. His due dates were more progress suggestions than strict grading deadlines. I normally hate biology but this class was pretty nice. There wasn't much interaction with him but his chapter intros were always entertaining.

HANDS DOWN THE BEST PROFESSOR I HAVE HAD SO FAR!!! He is so caring and makes class enjoyable and fun. He emails back very quickly usually with an hour or 2 or even quicker. Zooms office hours 4 times a week. A real Gem!! I would take him if he was available for every class and every subject. Easy A!

Took it online, there were NO lectures, just read this and answer this question (quiz). Super easy. The labs were watch this and answer these questions type of format. He accepts late work so don't sweat it BUT don't wait until the last minute. I learned a lot in this class and def recommend.

While taking him, I went on vacation! Little did I know, France FORBID'S MSJC hahaha! I was able to email him and let him know and by the grace of God, he let me catch up on everything when I got back! He does not mark down for late assignments! He's the best! He also offers extra credit! Super accommodating and understandable!!

Dr. Roy is great. Workload is heavy for an 8 weeks, but still manageable. Due dates serve more like suggestion dates, however it is best to follow the dates as closely as possible. Gives multiple opportunities for extra credit. Class is very passable if you have the discipline to stay on top of your assignments. It is very easy to fall behind.

I'm not much of a science person and was nervous heading into Bio-115 but Professor. Roy is such an amazing professor! He is caring and actually made Biology interesting! His assignments are easy and understandable a week usually consists of a DQ, Quiz and a lab! I highly recommend taking his class!

He is not a tough grader and even though I took and 8 week class which means a workload everything was manageable and if not you can always ask for help. He is amazing and I will always cherish him.

This professor is SUPER good! I DEFINITELY recommend you take his biology class, I was scared at the beginning as this class has a Lab class in it and I am currently in the fast paced class and it is honestly easy. The semester is almost at its end and I currently have a good grade. They also offer lots of extra credit, so take advantage.

Dr. Mason had a lot of personality in his online set up and announcements. He had quite a bit of extra credit opportunities and was easy to get a hold of. I would definitely take a class with Dr. Mason again, I had very little direct contact with him, but the way he had everything set up was so full of personality and I thought that was cool.

Professor Mason was amazing! The class consisted of 8 discussion boards, 12 multiple-choice exams based on the textbook (3 tries), and 9-10 (mostly multiple-choice) labs. Gives ample extra credit and there is no midterm. There is no official final just the last exam based on the final chapter of the textbook. Overall very easy class!
