a class act. fun, entertaining, and well-read. best prof to date.

Roy, don't take bad comments seriously. U are the best.
The class is a waste of time and money...I have yet to learn something of use.
Those stories .... specially the one about his dentist ... show you his passion
Roy i think I love you!!
Sweet & helpful. Always looking for ways to relate situations. Love him. Thanks
this dude is hype.. truss me and take him.. makes the course very interesting!
One of the best...fair teacher that knows what's up..
Excellent lectures and useful, practical assignments. Roy's great.
Very fair and understanding. Has a good sense of humour
You are the best Prof at Ryerson. You are great in every way!
likes to rush, but is very clear and funny. makes the course interesting!!
very good teacher!!! You actually pay attention in his class!
Make the course very interesting. Funny guy!
This guy is awesome. He teaches very well, and very funny.
Amazing teacher. Makes you want to come to class
good teacher...u can actually pass the tests
Roy Morely is the BEST prof, he is xtremely funny n pure motivation for learning!!!
clap, clap........lol......awesome Prof....REAL FUNNY....great comedian...clap!
He is the fairest professor ever. He cares about his students, and UNLIKE OTHER PROFS he goal is not to fail the stupid people, but to make sure we all learn something.
Wow, wasn't expecting instruction of this calibre at Ryerson. Morley has excelled in every aspect of the job. Good job.
VERY VERYYYYY COOL!!....makes University life experience so much more interesting!! YOU'RE THE BEST ROY!!!!!!!!!! CHEERS!
Nice Guy!! Tooo Funny!
Take his Class. You will love it. He has my vote as the prof of the year. He will go as far as to teach you on how to get a job. Roy we all love you.
amazing prof! he is there for the student just tell him what you need and he will give it to you. man, he even pampered me with herseys kisses! thank you for a great year.
great!Nice!!!!!!!!!!
One of the nicest guys around. Always adheres to the student's needs. Too bad Marketing isn't my liking. If only every prof was like him...
OMG...one of the few BEST profs at Ryerson. Helps his students adn always there.. and alwasy gives us Hershey's... ROY... YOU ARE AWESOME!!! really nice guy... CHEERS!
Student from the MMPA...Roy is the best! He's a lot more than a professor!
THE GREATEST GUY, PROF WHATEVER YOU WANN CALL HIM...his test are thou all MC...i didn't get the mark i deserve in this course BUT i still enjoyed his class
Wicked teacher with amazing hookups, be nice to this one and your set for life!
Ryersons got a gem here!
Difficult to follow lectures as he wanders and goes off topic frequently. Misdirects students with test information. Inflexible and never admits he's wrong let alone can make a mistake. I won't take another course with Morley!!!!
Great course, great class, great prof - what else can I say. Try to take this class with Roy Morley - you will thank yourseld endlessly later.
Totally SUCKS!!
He is an awesome prof. Very helpful, makes class fun and interesting.
THE BEST PROF AT RYERSON!!!!!!! If he wasn't...I wouldn't have made it to the 8:00 class every monday aha
man this guy rates himself here.. he is soo bad u will FAIL!!! forget D u will get an F and not learn anything
By far the worst prof I have had at Ryerson Talking Textbook, No Industry Experience, No Insight, Seems to dislike students, Extremly lazy, never can admit he is wrong even when proven wrong. I have seen this site up on his laptop, he definelty checks it, and probably votes for himself. The Worst!
He's got some charm, but swear he's trying to vent his anger that he can't control people chatting through class by screwing you over with some marks when you least expect it. Doesn't make his own notes, tests.. Watch out for assignment. Class always ends early.
Intriguing

What a sad story. Roy has no industry experience whatsoever. What can he teach us? Time to retire. Nothing to say, nothing to contribute. I feel I've been taken. This has been my worst experience in Ryerson to date. Avoid Roy at all cost!
A very laid back prof. Not the hardest of courses, but you need to enjoy marketing to enjoy this type of course...many will think this is the biggest wait of time. But surely a GPA booster.
Godddddddd. This guy doesn't know what he wants and his project is pain in the ... What can I say he is wired.
Worst Prof!...He is not clear in his explanations about what he is looking for in the major term project (not to mention it being overly exhaustive!!). He will kill you on the assignment, avoid Roy if you can!!!
Professor of the highest order. Completely / greatly gifted in his ability to teach the most advanced material. If your taking his course you're in for a treat (hold on to the end - it gets better and better).
Contrary to what others may say I thought Roy was a great teacher. Im not sure what else there is to expect in an Intro to Marketing course it's always going to be a textbook course. As for industry experience I think Roy has had plenty, I take it those who rated him poorly never showed up for class 1/2 the time and werent able to hear his experi
In surfing onto this website I was shocked to see any negative comments: During my enrollment Prof. Morley was the most exceptional: Having been in the post grad workforce now for 12 years his teachings have been very benneficial to my successes. I highly recoomend any course with him.
OMG . . . wow . . . just awful. Time to retire. What an attitude. Same old boring stories. Rude to students. No industry experience. What a waste of time. Probably the worst experience I've had at Ryerson. I didnt't get a thing from his lectures - avoid this guy. He thinks he knows something - guess again. BAD NEWS!
A truly disappointing introductory course - Morley added no value to the text; no wonder the attendance dwindled over the semester. I found his marketing stories to be entwined in his personal life and showcasing his most recent purchases (condo, t.v., etc). Surely he can stop using students to boost his ego!
These ppl must be very stupid..Roy is the best prof I've had @ Ryerson! He is very educated and inspirational..I learned so much about marketing. You def. need to work your butt of on the project (50%) but you'll be fine! I got an A+ and basically read the chapters before his tests..soooo easy!!! Very nice guy.. a must for marketing students!!!
STAY AWAY. he thinks he is better than all of us. i hated marketing for a good 2 years because of him, took a chance at another course, and realized how good it can be. now i have taken 4 more, but he ruined mkt 100.
Good marketing prof with great sense of humor. Just do the readings and the tests will be easy. The project is hard but well worth it by the last class.
awesome teacher... probably the best marketing prof. Just read the text for test cause there a joke straight from the book... the project is a bite harder but nothing to worry about .. easy A
Inspiring,Knowledgable,Approachable,Caring & VERY educated. In top Ryerson profs league. You study at home and come to class to apply knowledge 2 real life situations.Get what you give with him but he's not demanding. Its refreshing to have such a great prof. Just be respectful and be quite in his classes. He's always willing to help and listen. 200%
Easy prof, easy class. 2 tests and a project, with no participation marks. Grab the handouts and study the book and you will be good to go.
Course not difficult, however what he requires in the assignment can be vague. Although slightly disorganized at times, he is a very nice guy. Sound knowledge of the textbook during midterms will increase the chances of a good mark.
Sounds like this prof comes on hear often to talk about himself. He is a great man, and the course tests are an easy A+. But, he tends to give advice and then forget about it. Vague when marking assignment worth 50%. Had to take his class for a second time. So... enter at your own risk.
The exams are easy, but the group project is a lot of work. I recommend you find a good group. Roy is an Ok teacher, but the book is a better resource.
As the course was entirely based on a major project, there were no lectures. Dr. Morley is a very nice guy and fair. Although his advice can be vague, students should take it upon themselves to ensure that the final project is FULL of concrete plans with justifiable numbers to support recommendations. Details are vital.
To be honest they should create a course called "All about Morley", because 90% of his lecture are about his stupid stories. Trust me you are better off teaching yourself. Who said that professors with a PHd could teach any better than a professor without one? it is obvious that this guy can't teach and should retire.
Dr. Morley is a nice man. The problem is that he stopped trying to teach long ago. He doesn't use the text book and gives very vague instructions often which contradict themselves. When you get a report back he will explain all the things you did wrong even though none of these things were stressed when you asked him about them.
He's a great guy and an easy marker. Just FOLLOW his instructions, if you do that-- then you'll have no problem getting an A.
this guy is awesome. lots of fun stories and personal experiences to back up the text. not the clearest about what needs to be done but seems like a nice fair guy!
he's awesome!
The best prof ever!!! i love this guy!
Best prof ever hands down. This prof actually cares for the student and wants to make things easy for the student.
Great prof! He will do his best to help you and give bonus points wherever possible. He wants everyone to do well. Class itself sucks though. Text is full of personal opinions of the author and half the stuff is made up. Assignments are poorly designed but Roy has no control over any of the stuff they give us.
Honestly one of the best profs Ryerson has to offer in the marketing department. From the start to the finsih he has jokes for days and keeps you entertained with valuable industry insight. He is very reasonable if you have a problem, but make sure you attend his class and get to know him first hand. I got the feeling that he truely cares.
Awesome professor. He is very understanding, funny, and keeps you interested (most of the time) during class. Definately made my first marketing class a good experience. However..the new online textbook isn't that great.
The best prof ever had. He is very helpful and is funny. TA is soo hot.. Love you Yaman
Best prof i could ever ask for, but too bad he doesn't teach hard courses like accounting or stats, honestly i seriously wish he could be my prof for all my courses, everyone if you happen to have Roy as a prof, DON'T drop the class no matter what
No Comments
If you get him, don't drop him. NO MATTER WHAT. Best prof at Ryerson without a doubt. Incredible human being.
Best prof at Ryerson. Incredible human being. Never drop his class because you won't get anyone better.
He is a good prof. Very fair and cares about the students. Tests and assignments are a bit hard though. Never a dull moment.
Professor Morley is smoking hot... if you are in to older men. He's also funny, smart and extremely helpful. It's worth fighting to get into his class.
Roy Morley. A god among men.
MORLEY IS THE BEST PROF AT RYERSON EVER. I wish he teaches other courses like accounting stats etc. Although he never made question in midterm and finals..which is really hard...but he tries his best to BOOST everyones mkt gpa (Y)
He's a very good professor. Yet midterm was hard..hope the final isnt hard!!!..YAMA is a good TA but doesnt give assignments back on time.:(..
BEST PROF EVER!!!!:D totally agree YAMA said he's going to give our assignments back on saturday where is it??..im so tired of keep having to go on bb to check if its there..its been a month now..
Attention all first year students. Make sure you take MKT with Roy. Down to earth prof. He makes it so easy and is funny. Mid term is hard and assignments are worth it. Overall, show up to class, learn something and you will be fine. I wish he taught year 2 and 3 courses.
Morley knows his stuff. Going to class is like 2 for 1 deal. You get to learn something and he is like a stand up comedian. Great sense of humor. TA is very helpful. Better than the other profs teaching 100 - take mkt 100 with ROY
BEST PROF EVER!!! He is fair with the markings of assignments. Also he teaches in a very clear manner. Yet mid-term was pretty tough..hope the exam is not as tough as the mid-term.
studying for the exam is a killer!!!..the text is sooo boring. Better suggestion for next year, they should get rid of this online textbook!..ROY please dont fail anyone!!!
he is the best mkt prof!!..suggest you take him. He will do his best to help a student out and is very considerate. BEST PROF SO FAR AT RYERSON!
TAKE HIM!!BEST PROF AT RYERSON!..He is so caring and he is really funny. Does his best in helping students out when needed and I only took his class after my friend suggested it. Im telling you, do whatever to get this prof!
HOPE THAT HE WOULD BELL CURVE THE FINAL EXAM MARK...IT WAS REALLY HARD...)=
He's really easy..but midterm and final was really hard!!! I really hopes he bell-curved the exam too!!!
You cant just say he's easy..the exam was really hard. My friend who has a hard prof got B+ while I had this man and got C+. Dont judge profs they differ from person to person. Hate this old man.
Best proff at ryerson period. Maeks more than fairly and responds to emails so fast. i dont know what every1 is ****in about exam was sooo easy had top gun questions on it ended up with A-. to bad hes leaving to France best proff at ryerson
one of the best prof at RYERSON EVER!!!!!!!!a really good hearted prof!
simply one of the greatest professors out there
This guy is a gem. if you experienced problems with this man it was definitely your fault and certainly not his. Take a class with Roy and you won't regret it.
A genuinely nice guy. He's something else. Him and his TA are set on no one dropping or failing the course. He's a bit of a kook. He's just an all around nice guy. Tests are really easy straight from the book. Marks easily as well on presentations/assign. Wish his lectures weren't as dull but on a plus you don't need to show up to class for an A.
Roy is the man! Class is boring as hell because he reads through his slides which you can do yourself on your own time. His lectures are hilarious, however. Great all around guy. Dedicated to the success of his students. Much appreciated!
Wow, this guy really cares about his students. He is the funniest prof at RyeHigh, but still gets the contents through.. He should be running the marketing department with his smartness... Take his class, attend and you will get an easy B
This dude is awesome. I look forward to his classes. I go through my boring day with my other profs and then this guys class is pure educational entertainment. He actually makes you want to learn something...lol
Proff Morley has a unique characteristic about himself. He will make your life easy with giving you sample test questions and an easy project. You will learn from this proff. Also, he will teach you how to get a job.
If you came on here to see if Roy's class is worth it, then you will only get on answer. YEsssssssssssssss.. easy, interesting and important enought that you will remember after you leave the class.
All you need to know about Roy is that he's the best prof you will ever have. Nothing else. Take his class and enjoy!
What is there to say? The man is a living legend. He's probably the best prof you'll ever have in your life. Smart, really funny, and he cares immensely about all his students. What you will learn from him will be useful in all aspects of your life. Take him and enjoy. He’s the epitome of a human being.
Roy is a professor you want to meet. Walking into the first test, you think its an easy A but the multiple choice is a challenging one. You learn a lot. The TA Yama Niwand is cool as well but its hard to get that A+ ever if you work really really hard
For those students wanting a good grade - take Roy's class. What a charismatic Prof..Makes you wonder why he is not running the department.. Hepful, and him and his TA will give you what you need to pass with a good grade. Hard to get an A, but worth it. Rather be in Roy's class than to listen to another geeser talk nonsense at Ryerson.
Roy makes me want to come to ryerson.. I wonder where he was trained - the rest of the that boring school should learn from this guy. Makes you laugh, teaches you and encourages you to do better in your career through tips and his life experience... you will get a good grade if you follow the text.. peace
He is one of the best lecturers I have ever had at Ryerson. He makes the class interesting, tells humorous stories and relates the real world to the course. He is not only a great lecturer, but he is extremely nice and funny. Not enough professors are like him, he makes going to lectures fun and worth your time. The mid term was long, but fair.
Roy is a really nice guy. He definitely knows a lot, and has been in the business for a long time. Unfortunately, the class is EXTREMELY unorganized and orders are confusing. Takes forever to hand marks back and blames it on large class sizes (I have tons of large classes and get grades back WEEKS before him). Enjoyed the course, though.
Professor Morley is an outstanding professor and human being. He is consistently helpful, encouraging and kind. He would GLADLY give you an A, if you do the work that deserves that mark! His course changed my life for the better, and there is a reason why his classes are always full! PS his GA Yama is equally amazing! Thanks Professor Morley!
Roy is great, clear and interesting lecturer, but, the course has changed a lot. Firstly, the class has a final exam now. Secondly, the assignments which are common sense and basic as can be are marked brutally. How can the class average be lower than a C for an assignment about your dream job? Disappointing to say the least.
Roy is a great guy and professor, but the low rating I am giving goes to the class/structure. The two projects are marked by the TA, who marks them very unclearly and gives unclear feedback. You don't know why you got the mark you did even though you followed the outline EXACTLY. The mid term and final are MC, but all of the options sound correct.
Class has been going ok so far. 2 tests and one project. Test is right out of the text. project seems simple.. Prof is funny as hell, wakes me right up. Don't use your phone. TA is hot, seen him only once though.
One of the best marketing profs at Ryerson, period. He clearly loves teaching, and keeps everyone engaged with his awesome sense of humour. His tests are not easy, but fair. Read the book, and use the online study guide and you'll do fine. Also, make sure you attend the last class; he gives some great tips on finding a job.
Most kind enthusiastic professor ever taken at Ryerson. Starts the class off with a joke and really tries to get to know his students. Focus on slides. If you get the chance to, do the online quiz. New textbook this semester.
Fantastic prof! Teaches concepts through anecdotes and real-life experience, conducts a very organized and structured class. 2 tests and one project (all 3 were MC). The textbook used is very easy to read as well. Roy is also hilarious and genuinely cares about students. Take this class!
One of the best MKT professors. Makes class interesting and engaging. He really cares about his students and is one heck of a person. Would take another class with him in a heart beat!
Curriculum consisted of Two tests worth 40% each and group project worth 20%. He's an easy market. Tests are fairly easy. However, read your textbook. Most of the test content are from the textbook. He always finishes lectures an hour early.
He is very flexible and easy going. Do the work required and show him some respect, and you are good to go.
Great teacher, interesting lectures, is there to help you even if it is not course related, wants to see you succeed! Will definitely take another course with him if he has anymore. PS. Thanks for letting me borrow textbook :)
Amazing prof that shows he cares about students. He kept on mentioning in first class how he read people say he cuts his class early and that was false. This guy always cuts class 2 hours in. All in all, very practical and applicable course to the workplace.
One of the best profs ever!
What can I say, one of the best at Ryerson. Cares about his students and his tips on getting a job are incredibly valuable
Really nice guy, cares about his students and is always there to answer your questions. Is very clear on what he expects for the group project and the two tests are from the textbook. The material isn't hard as long as you go to class & read the textbook. One of my favourite profs!
Roy has been my favourite professor so far! He tells really interesting stories that help you remember the material and he's really just an interesting man in general. Very helpful, has a whole tutorial on how to do a job search and made class interesting and fun to attend. His power point slides are really good too
lovveedd him, he is an easy and hilarious prof. barely attended class ended up with an A. Never used the textbook once.
A wonderful and hilarious prof! Lectures are casual and engaging, with a lot of real-world examples and applications. Roy has years of experience in various industries so he adds even more value to the course and overall learning experience. He also gives great advice and tips about searching and securing a job. Read textbook for tests.
Great guy. Says a lot of funny stuff. You will learn a lot from the class. Easy going and an easy mark ! Highly recommend!
One of the best profs and will make the class worth your time. The practical knowledge you will gain from him will be worth more than the credit itself. Not a difficult class but you definitely need to do the work and go to class to do well. If you're looking for guidance in your career path this is the best class you could take.
Amazing Prof and human being. Cares about his students and their success in the course. I would take a course with him again in a heart beat! TAKE HIS CLASS, YOU WILL BE SO HAPPY YOU DID.
Great professor, easy to approach and willing to work with students. Class is based on very few things so be prepared to study
Amazing professor, literally one of the nicest people I have ever met. He's willing to help out his students, and wants to see them succeed in his class and life. Tests are based strictly on the textbook readings, but are fair. Would take another class with him any day!!
Amazing human being, very well respected. One of the very few profs that actually cares about the well-being of students. Class is strictly based on the textbook, so you don't really need to attend the lecture (but you should). Lectures are fully based on real life experiences that will teach you more than what you will ever learn from a book.
Best teacher I've ever had. If you can, take his class!
Roy is one of the greatest, most caring, inspirational role models you will ever meet in your life. The man just generally cares SO much about us, and is really funny and respects us. It was an honour having such a knowledgeable and great prof at Ryerson. The course of MKT504 however? Could use some revising as textbook based heavily (80%).
He is a good prof, definitely recommend anyone to take his class. Not only are his classes easy, but he is a good professor, who will teach you a lot. Really helpful during office hours as well.
The prof himself is caring and truly wants you to succeed in your "sales" life. BUT in terms of the course, he does his own lectures. Test are purely driven from the books Test Data Center. So he has no clue what's going to be in the exam. YOU HAVE TO READ THE BOOK (cover to cover). Coming to lectures otherwise is not necessary.
Proffesor Roy is one of the best at Ryerson.. he helps make the textbook content easier and since both tests are entirely from the textbook, attending his lectures will help you study and Roy's amazing teaching approach will not make it feel difficult or long
I currently have the pleasure of being a student in MKT504 taught by Roy Morley who is a fantastic professor. How some students can be so confused/unappreciative baffles me. He is very clear and concise with his instructions and outlines and answers all questions students may have. I highly recommend taking any classes taught by him! +great humour!
He is by far one of the best profs I have had the pleasure of meeting while at Ryerson. He was nice enough to take case studies off the midterm so people could buy the cheap 1st edition and is even letting me write my midterm in his other section because I have one before across campus. He is also hilarious and I plan on taking his other classes.
He has a lot of experience and is knowledgeable of the course content. He has a positive, humorous lecture style. many relevant stories and examples to highlight course concepts. Attend class, do your readings, ask questions and you'll do well. He cares about his students and is reasonable.
Honestly, I went into this class thinking this prof was one of the kindest & although he is caring, he's also very passive aggressive & rude in his emails. Not approachable when it comes to assignments, & easily annoyed by small things. Embarrasses you in front of the class for "chatting" when you were just asking for a pencil. Easy course, but no.
Roy is hilarious and caring. Very knowledgeable and humble about his exp. Tests are directly from the book so STUDY. Makes the course fun by adding in his humour and I appreciate that. Sends TONS of emails to his students to clarify & answer questions. Genuinely cares about student success. Take him & you'll learn life lessons along w/ MRK content.
As a human being, his empathy levels for students is the best, no other professor like him! Amazing. But my one problem is the project, majority of the marks are from A10 & B10 but the explanation of it is quite confusing. He covered it in class but wasn't able to attend due to various tests that week & the next class asked a question & got denied
Roy comes across as a very caring, professional, and knowledgeable individual. His lectures were straight from slides which were straight from the online textbook database meaning buying the textbook was a waste. His lectures are not useful in the sense that he goes off topic a lot and doesn't cover all the topics. Walked out learning nothing new
Nicest man alive! He will go out of his way to accommodate. Two tests (40%) that were all M/C. 1 Assignment (20%) Everything is straight forward, if you just skim through the textbook you'll do VERY well. Class is optional. Do NOT buy the textbook new, its a waste of money.
Roy is one of the most genuine professors at Ryerson. He cares about everyone and treats you as a human being rather than just a students. He's a real English gentleman. The two tests, which are 40 percent each are based on the textbook, but Roy does cover the content. The assignment is straightforward. He's very funny and cares about everyone.
The nicest man at Ryerson. Cares about students and treats them like human beings. He cares about the topic and is funny during the lectures. The two midterms and assignments were fair. Roy is a gem.
As a third year, I feel that Roy gets it. He won't read off from slides. He only reads the ones that need more emphasis. He'll tell stories and interact with students to keep the mood up. The man is a gem.
One of the nicest profs I have meet. As a 4th year student Roy shows you what a good proff is supposed to be. He is very informative and knowledgeable. He gives you real life advice and not the Ryerson "script" that all the other proffs do.
Amazing professor, really cares about his students and is very very down to earth. He truly wants you to succeed and won't teach you stuff that isn't necessary (or as important to know). Look out for his jokes hahaha
Had the chance to take this 723 and MKT504 with Roy. He's a great guy, and very funny lecturer. He will make you purchase the MindTap or the textbook which was my only complaint, you'll need it to achieve a decent grade in the course.
Amazing professor really cares about his students. Gives you hints on what will be on the examsExams are very straightforwardHe genuinely wants his students to do well For the final exam it was supposed to be on chapters 1-15 but he thought that was unfair and made it only based on the last 5 chaptersHe even cut out 30 questions to make it shorter
Best prof ever
Such a funny and sweet man. Has very realistic expectations from students, try to attend class because he hints at important content for the tests, and study from the slides and textbook and you'll be good.
Just an overall fun guy. Really cares about his students, and takes your feedback into consideration when creating the midterms/finals. Although he breezes through lectures, if you do your readings and take account of examples in the textbook, you will get an easy A in the class. Ps. Final exam had at least 20 questions revolved around "Gaps"
Very funny guy, he is very caring towards students. He mostly gives examples in lectures, you don't have to go if you buy the textbook are willing to read it, but I would recommend going, it is not a drag. The grading criteria seems very clear. Easy textbook course, read the slides and textbook and pass. Great experience with Roy, would recommend.
Roy is a great guy, and a great professor. He is very kind and you can tell that he genuinely cares about his students. During class he may go on tangents, but he tells many interesting stories about his life that are really fun to listen to. His exams and assignments are both quite fair. He's a gem. Thanks for the great semester!
Best prof at Ryerson. Cares about you and gives the best reality check! He will tell his experiences in class and enjoy class with you! He is genuinely a good person with a lot to offer to his students!
Amazing professor, 10/10 would recommend he is such a caring and sweet person. Will go above and beyond the course curriculum and will try his best to get everyone to pass the class. Highly skilled and knowledgable about service marketing and friendly, approachable, and fun! Great semester, glad to see around Ryerson again!
Both of his sections this term did very poorly. In class, he would read off publishers' slides, and shush people for talking (even if they were talking about course content). After majority of people did poorly on the first test, he still told us to not drop it because we can improve but most people did not. And, there really is no room to improve.
Roy is a gem and is super compassionate. I emailed him, asked him questions on things I was unclear on. I put in the effort. You do not magically get a B or A in any course, you have to work for it. Roy actually never reads off his slides rather he takes the content from the slides and tells real world examples so we can remember!
Roy is funny and entertaining as a professor. Has many stories to tell and tries to relate it back to the class lectures. Teaches what you need to know for the real world instead of just teaching everything in a textbook. Course is easy if you just read the chapters and pay attention. Always looked forward to his classes!
A really nice guy. Will do well in the class as long as you read all of the chapters in the textbook since he doesn't really go into depth in class, kind of rushes through the slides with emphasis on important ones. Spends most of the class telling stories and relating course material to real examples. Still important to attend class though.
He is a nice person, but very vague when giving instructions on what he wants for the project. You have to read the textbook because the lectures are dull and he does not cover everything.
Roy is such a sweetheart! I cant get over all the rude responses on here from students that obviously are not willing to put in any work. During the pandemic he offered up his PERSONAL cellphone number for us to contact about class or merely for support. I attended every lecture for his engaging stories that make me laugh. Favourite professor.
Great professor! Really cares about his students.
Great professor. One of the only professors that truly cares about his students. Students who dislike him are lazy and are unwilling to do any work.
Don't listen to any of the negative comments about Roy. He's a great prof who cares about his students. I had him during the covid experience & he was nothing but communicative with us. He told us exactly what to do for the assignment and gave us an extensions. Ppl were mad cuz we got graded on 1 test & 1 assignment, next time study!!!! best prof!!
I dont understand the negative reviews .... this prof is 100% the most helpful prof throughout this whole pandemic.
Professor Morley is simply amazing. Now, does he send a lot of emails and announcements that make you feel lost after reading them, YES. But if you're in University you should know how to read and figure it out. The COVID-19 situation did change the way this semester is graded and its not fair but there is nothing he could have done to fix it.
ROY IS AN AMAZING PROFESSOR. I genuinely enjoyed attending his classes every week, and these negative reviews say a lot more about them than it does Roy. He has been extremely supportive throughout this entire pandemic, and I'm so grateful to have taken this class. DO NOT LISTEN TO THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS.
Overall Roy has been an amazing prof for MKT723. Throughout the pandemic, he has continued to update us and remained cool. Hilarious lectures!
This professor is very caring. I spoke highly of my part-time job when answering a question and the following weekend he visited my workplace to tell upper management what I had said. MAKE SURE YOU READ THE TEXTBOOK.
Roy is a great professor, and an even better person. He makes lectures enjoyable by telling stories and keeping everyone engaged. During this pandemic he has still made sure to keep everyone up to date. Easily my favourite professor at Ryerson thus far. Do not look at the negative reviews, and look at all of the positive ones!
One of the best professors I have had all semester. Professor Morley has one of the best personalities and makes his lectures engaging. Not sure why he is receiving bad reviews. He is extremely accommodating and works hard to ensure that everyone is kept informed.
One of my favourite profs to date! Super accommodating and through his lectures as well as notes, it's clear he puts in the effort to make sure his students succeed. Would take any future classes with him! Don't understand the need for negative reviews, I couldn't find one thing I disliked about this class
Roy's an amazing lecturer - class fun is & he applies the text to real life examples. His guidelines are vague and that makes it difficult for us who like to follow things to a T. It's hard to understand his personal emails, but that's probably because he doesn't give "straight" answers - very open-ended. Very informative about COVID-19 guides.
Extremely wonderful professor! Roy constantly keeps his students updated during the COVID19 pandemic and replies quickly, sending out emails to keep us fully informed about the project. He is so considering, sweet and caring of his students. I've enjoyed his lectures very much this semester
Dr. Morley is absolutely an amazing professor! He genuinely cares about his students and wants everyone to do well. I highly recommend you take his classes. I would definitely take more classes with him.
I'm disappointed in the slander that Roy has received. Roy is an excellent teacher if you care to listen. His lectures are very informative and his humor makes the lectures engaging (although he does repeat the same jokes from time). He relates the lecture content to real world concepts which help. Criticism: goes through slides too quick sometimes
Roy Morley is an awesome professor. Classes always seemed to go by quickly due to how enjoyable his lectures really are, this made me look forward to his class every week. He not only makes his expectations clear, but will respond to any questions you have in a timely manner. You'll likely leave his class with a smile on your face.
Roy is a nice and very caring professor. He really tried to help students during Covid-19 crisis. He even gave us his phone number in case someone is very stressed and want to talk. His lectures are nice, and he jokes a lot and tells stories relevant to course content. I would recommend him.
After COVID I kind of lost my appreciation for him. We originally had two test and a project that made up our grade. The project was supposed to be 10%. He refused to make the second test online so now its worth 50%. It's a really vague project and he even told us students have a history of doing bad on it.
Prof. Roy Morley's outline said no technology and I looked forward to that. His lectures are very engaging as he talks about many different real life stories and connects back to theory. I always looked forward to going to his class. I wish he continued teaching online. It would have been fun and knowledgeable for students to attend.
His classes are very engaging but, he does mention to read textbook just like every other prof. Textbooks are helpful as you will come across questions that he will clear up for you in class.
Professor Roy is a very respected professor. He is very caring, his lectures actually teach you concepts and the way he teaches he is really nice and straight forward. I just wished he carried on with test 2 online like other profs locked D2L during test time. But, overall a great prof 10/10 would recommend him
Go to his classes and talk to him. He is a very knowledgeable person, and he will help you make connections in real life. He goes above and beyond for his students. COVID-19 has been a tough time and he is has been very reachable. Textbook is a must in this course tho. Understand the theories it will help you in life and in the course.
Professor Morley is a real gem! Took his class because of his good reputation and I don't regret it, definitely surpassed my expectations. He has so much care and concern for all his students and really tries his best to help everyone out. Great lectures, relates concepts to real life examples and stories! Highly recommend, and would take again!
Professor Morley is by far one of the best professors I have had at Ryerson. His lectures are informative and educational. His expectations and guidelines are clear. If you take the time to put in the work you will receive the grade you deserve. Professor Morley is not only a great professor but an even better person.
Everyone posting insanely nice comments are just trying to suck up because someone told the old guy to come on this site and read reviews. He sent out an email whining about it and even is trying to get the school involved. So take caution with these positive reviews...
His teaching is pretty solid. He does his best to help students. I wouldn't trust the positive reviews below. He sent multiple emails crying about 2 negative reviews. He forced a student to remove one, and he reported the other one. People just feel bad that he's crying over them, and I wouldn't take them as an honest reflection of what ppl think
Decent prof!
Roy is an extremely kind hearted, and reasonable guy. He truly goes out of his way to help you out. Lectures were kind of difficult to be apart of because he was not very energetic with his vocals and actions.
Skips through lectures and jokes about wanting to go home early. Might as well be an online class, you have to learn on your own. States he wants a 5-10 points per section on reports then says there is not enough detail. Does not provide feedback on assignments because "too many students" and he tells you to look at updates on d2l when questioned
Dont believe the great reviews, he complained about a student writing a bad one and people feel bad. Lectures are pretty much non existent, he would only do a few slides then call it. Through Covid he make no attempt to go online and expected students to learn on their own, which you had to be learning on your own cause we weren't in lectures
Professor Roy is honestly the most understanding, impactful prof that Ryerson has to offer. I would truly be this man's friend. If you ever have the chance to be in his class, DO IT, you won't regret it one bit. Professor Roy is extremely inspirational and helps you see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Dr. Roy is a professor of excellence. He has a great command of the marketing environment, which makes his lectures more interesting as he gives examples of real-life experiences. He makes the learning environment a welcoming one for all. He is extremely personable and thoughtful and the students love and respect him.
Extremely caring and compassionate to his students. Made taking this class during COVID times easier for those that are struggling. A true gem.
Professor Morley by far is the best professor I've had during my undergrad studies. The way he cares for students and other faculty members is something I've never experienced before from other professors. He sets you up for success and answers all the questions you have. I 100% suggest you take him in any course he offers.
Roy is by far the best prof I have ever had. He is constantly puting the students first. I have never met a more caring person in my life as he goes way beyond the call of duty for his students. He is a man with lots of experience and it really shows. His lectures are always entertaining and many students enjoy attending his class. Love him.
Roy was an awesome professor to have during the pandemic. He actually cared about students' mental health and wellbeing during the semesters and took away assignments/quizzes to release pressure. Noah was the TA and was also amazing! They were easy to contact, helpful and fun!
Aside from being an amazing prof, he's a real amazing guy-- probably one of the best profs i've ever had. Cares so much about his students. His lectures are informative, easy to follow, interactive, etc. I HIGHLY recommend taking Services Marketing or any course that he teaches. You won't regret it .
Roy is very considerate. He understands the stresses student go through. Not to mention, the class content is pretty interesting! I wish this were done in person though! Either way -- take this class.
Professor Morley is the best prof at Ryerson! I have never had a prof as kind as him where he really shows that he cares about his students and makes sure we can approach him at all times! His lectures are super engaging and incorporate his personal experiences which I find memorable when studying for the exam!
Roy is really nice and actually cares about his students and their lives. He was one of the only profs I've ever had who sympathized with our hardships and understood that we are very stressed especially during Covid. Roy makes virtual lectures so engaging and entertaining, he deserves a raise!
Fantastic man and genuinely cares for all students. Wants everyone to do well and will not bell curve grades. Told us to use pdf version of texbook so we wouldn't have to spend any money. Always available to talk, regardless of it is course related or not.
Roy is the best prof I've had throughout my four years at Ryerson. He understands his students and offers support through difficult situations they may be encountering (which is something that not many profs do). Roy makes his lectures fun and engaging. I definitely recommend taking this course with him!
Roy is an ABSOLUTE LEGEND! He is one of the most inspiring professors i have had in my 4 years at Ryerson. He takes his time to connect with his students and loves to communicate with them. I wish him the best and hope he's doing well after contracting pneumonia.
Roy is one of the best professors I've had at Ryerson! He's super caring and is always there to support his students. The lectures are not mandatory, but are very informative as he gives his students real-world advice and explains concepts very well. This pandemic has been tough, but Roy has made this class very easy-going. He is great!
Roys kindness is refreshing to see in a professor! It is clear that he genuinely cares about his students; he is always offering a helping hand! The course being a breeze is merely a bonus.
Absolute Legend. Such a great human being. The class wasn't so content engaging, but I enjoyed being around Roy.
Such a great prof and class! I recommend to everyone if you can get a class with him then do it! He is an extremely fair and caring professor and just want his students to do well. If you listen to the recordings, go to the lectures and read the textbook you will do super well!! great professor needs more like him!!
He saw the reviews from last semester (F20), and updated it for this semester. He truly cares for his students and listens to our opinion which i really respect. His class is easy and he makes sure to go over everything so the tests arent difficult. I would gladly take any other class he's teaching- I wish more professors were like him.
Course was not too difficult at all. I didn't learn as much as in other classes, but it was very nice being in Roy's class. Roy is truly a pure soul - he is kind, caring and inspiring. Amazing person.
Roy is an amazing prof that genuinely cares about his students. He records his lectures and posts them through google drive, and has a one-hour discussion during the scheduled lecture. His lectures are straightforward & easy to follow. His tests are based solely on his lectures and slides. You will not regret taking him as a professor. Easy A!
Professor Morley is easily the most caring prof. I have ever come across in my 4 years at Ryerson. The tests were fairly easy (plus they are open book). Taught us a lot about life and the job market. I was always happy to attend his lectures.
He's amazing! Super understanding of University work load and just a really sweet guy.
God bless this man. Super understanding, caring, kind and always responds to e-mails within minutes. I wish he taught more marketing classes!
The material is boring. Roy will honestly tell you that the material is boring. But he tries to make your life easy. He's one of the nicest profs at Ryerson and is very caring of students. Short lectures. Mainly reading from the test and doing multiple choice questions. It's easy.
Roy seems like a nice guy, but he is very touchy with reviews. Beware of what you post. He sends out emails dissecting every bad review he gets on here which is kind of weird and off-putting. He is an ok professor, nothing special.
