Terrific professor. He takes as much time as is needed to explain assignments and due dates. He always pitches in when students or groups fall behind. His exams are structured but you can do extremely well if you follow his notes and handouts. You will definitely learn something about yourself in this course.

I came to Centennial College after having completed a degree at the University of Toronto. Most of my professors at U of T were fine but none of them actually engaged the students in real life situations. When I took Professor Savia's course, the atmosphere was amazing. Not only did I learn about Global Citizenship, I also learned about society.

Professor Savia is a terrific teacher. He can motivate the class to do things by treating us with respect. He can also turn on the charm. He is very fair with marking but hates students who are always late or skip class.

Only one thing I can say: Professor Roy really cares about everyone's success. He is very flexible with assignment due dates and doesn't mind if we ask him questions that have nothing to do with the course.

Here is what I have learned about Professor Savia. He is considerate, very articulate, student centered and often funny. He expects everyone to attend class and attendance is taken each week. If you follow his instructions and complete the assignments, you are almost guaranteed an A. The exams are a bit tricky but he provides an excellent review.

He's a very fair professor and a marker. He made the class much easier than expected. He is always thorough with his explanations and has a great of sense of humour. He's always willing to assist and give answers to students if needed and also, he does not make you feel intimidated at all.

I hated this course from the beginning. It was a required course for my program and I put it off as long as I could. Professor Savia made the course smooth and the assignments were very manageable. The course is a complete waste of time but the professor is awesome at teaching and making students feel comfortable.

Professor Savia has been the only instructor who treated me like a person rather than a student number. He has been genuine and his expectations are very realistic so long as you follow his instructions. Of the six course I took last semester, his was the most interesting and my final grade was an "A". I like his teaching style!

The professor is a decent person. He is knowledgeable in his field and is exceptionally articulate. I am giving him a 'thumbs up' because he is the only teacher who talked to each of us about our career ambitions and his promise to succeed in the course.

Roy is a realistic teacher. He avoids the B.S. and gets to the facts. At times he uses the subject material to provide real life examples. He is an easy marker and his lectures are interesting. I would definitely take another course with him.

Professor Roy is a good lecturer but at times he can be long winded. Lately he has been including videos and group work which makes the course more interesting. For a liberal studies course, Professor Roy is excellent. But I feel that he needs to reduce the amount of time he spends on lectures and focus more on in class assignments and group work.

This professor is an easy marker. There are three reflection assignments and a major essay for the course (not to mention a final exam). It's a lot of work for a liberal studies course, but if you complete all the assignments and hand them in on time you will get an A. Most of the material in this course is easy to understand.

I just completed a course in Global Citizenship: World Hunger. The professor is a very knowledgeable person with a terrific personality. Easy marks if you complete the assignments. The essay assignment is relatively easy to ace so long as you follow the profs guidelines. He takes attendance every class and gives extra credit if you are always there.

Professor Savia doesn't hesitate to give full marks on an assignment. I received 2525 on an essay. I normally don't get more than 2025 on my assignments. He was generous with a few of my colleagues as well. It goes to show that not all professors are the same.

GNED 500 is a mandatory course at Centennial College. I was told by my friend to look at Prof. Savia's profile on rate my professor. He has the best overall record of all the faculty at Centennial. I took his course this semester and was pleasantly surprised by how helpful and courteous this professor is. Prof. Savia really knows how to teach!

If you are stuck taking GNED500 make sure you register in Professor Savia's class. He's probably the only one at Centennial College who will make the experience fun. Everyone else sucks.

GNED 500 is Centennial's signature course. Actually, it's nothing more than a course in diversity and inclusion. You can learn this in any sociology course. But Professor Roy does a decent job of making the assignments and discussions interesting. He lets you speak your mind and gives you every opportunity to do well.

Basically, you show up every class you are guaranteed an A. The way Roy structures this course is that you never have to do any homework and everything is done in class. He is a very easy marker and very open to any questions. So yeah, take this class if you want an A, but make sure you attend his classes though.

Roy is an excellent teacher but he doesn't like students who skip class. Attend all the classes and you will do well. The assignments are easy and he provides you with the test questions before the exam day.

Roy is an excellent instructor. On the very first day, his introductory speech was really inspirational and motivational. He is extremely clear when teaching and he is always there to offer support for any help you may need. He really opened my eyes to the outside world, and the many issues it has faced in the past and continues to face.

The instructor is a wonderful person but he expects everyone to participate in the assignments. You can get an easy A if you attend class. Otherwise you can fail this course if you don't participate in the major assignment and presentations. He is very fair to everyone but is not friendly to those who always skip class.

Professor Savia is a terrific teacher and his expectations are not demanding. He gives bonus marks on assignments and discusses the exam questions in advance. But he gets angry with students who continuously skip class. I really enjoyed his class and would recommend to others to take his course.

I have to agree with a few of the posts on this web site. Professor Roy will bend over backwards to help you score an A as long as you attend class. If you skip class, don't expect to pass. I received an A only because I was present for all of the in-class assignments. He is a really nice guy but only respects those who attend class.

He does not assign any homework, as all assignments are done on class time. But the best part, he provides you with detailed feedback. In PSE, this is very rare.

All of the assignments were explained in detail. If you had problems with the assignments the professor sits down with you and actually helps you write them! I would not have passed this course if it wasn't for Professor Savia.

Roy is the best professor ever. He gives a lot of example and explains to your understanding with experiences as well . 49 He engages his student which gets you so interested in the course for he is good at what he does.

Roy is an excellent professor. I like the way he uses real situations to describe subject matter.

Roy gave me every opportunity to do well in this course. I didn't like the course material very much but Roy made the entire course straight forward. I was already holding an A before the final test. He really is a great teacher.

Amazing!

He posts all of the stuff online, and as long as you read the notes, you should pass. However, I did go to class and he managed to inspire me about a subject that I went in not caring about at all. Overall super funny, intelligent and thought provoking lecturer.

the assignments are easy as long as you participate in group and individual assignments. most students receive an A.

I just completed this course and the only thing left is the final test. It has been a real interesting course and professor savia has been caring and very encouraging. He is compassionate and inspirational. The other professors who teach in my program should learn from him.

I really enjoyed Professor Savia. He is a straight forward and fair instructor. He is also very generous when it comes to giving grades. A few of the students in my class didn't do their assignments or show up for the presentation. You have to be really dumb not to take advantage of Professor Savia's generosity. The assignments were real easy.

He's a great professor and a great guy. Really understanding about deadlines. I'm an engineering tech student and HATE general arts and science classes, but it's an interesting genre to begin with and Roy manages to make it even more interesting. You can tell he truly loves what he does.

Great instructor. Will bend over backwards to explain things if you do not understand. I would strongly recommend taking his class.

The semester is over and Professor Savia was ill for the last 3 classes. I wish he was with us until the last class. He is awesome and caring. I held an A grade all the way until we were replaced by another professor.
