Very easy to learn from and makes class time fun.

For an 9:00 am class, she found ways to make math fun. She creates these different types of math dances and tells corny jokes. You have to make sure you does the correct hw prob on the board and she solves the prob correctly. Pre-calc is a hard class but she is always willing to stay after class to answer any questions.

she's awesome. as long as you do the hw regularly and ask questions on anything you don't understand, you should do well in the class. she's really helpful and will explain anything you don't understand.

Ms. Furmuly is an awesome teacher. She is very down-to-earth, young, and sweet. Straight-forward and clear, she's knows how to explain things so that you will understand. There are 10 quizzes (3 problems each)and pop hw collection once in a while. Also 5 exams that she gives you a review study guide for and it makes you really prepared.

Wow... the people below have no clue at all. She thoroughly prepares you for continuing on in math. She does not offer Mickey-Mouse tests. She's fair but demanding of you. If you cannot survive this class, good luck trying to get pass higher math classes.

AMAZING professor. Explained Math 245 and helped me, a journalism majoring math idiot, nail a B in one of the hardest classes I've ever taken. Put in effort, and she will reward you. Try to "breeeeze through," and you will regret it.

She's really nice and helpful. I took her in math 115 and math 125. Her tests are kind of hard. Even though she gives a review sheet, the review sheet is easier than the actual test. Lecture wise, she's really good and funny... She'll tell you lame math jokes and will admit that there lame. :-) ask her about the party problems lol

don't be fooled she might be easy for lower math but her class is extremely hard for calculas.she is a good teacher and she is nice but her tests are too hard.if u r math person then take her but if not stay away

In Taking any class I expect competence clarity and a mutual respect for the student with Professor Roya Furmuly I got all three in petite package. With step by step instruction with advancing difficulty I was able to grasp all subjects thrown my way. Along with her classy yet silly personality It became a joy to attend her class.You will learn.

Prof. Furmuly made Calculus I so approachable that I thoroughly enjoyed it. That?s not to say that the subject wasn?t complex at times, or that I didn?t have to put in the work. But she was a clear teacher and gave study guides to help prepare for the test. Strongly recommended.

Mrs. Roya was the funnest math class I've taken I took her class for a summer session,and math is not my strongest subject and I passed her class w/ a B. The most important is that her English is very clear unlike other teachers where I've spent half the time trying to figure out what they say rather than the problem.

Shes really nice and helpful when you need it. i took her in fall but had to drop and signed up for the internet winter class. i was a little disappointed with my grade, i thought i would of had a b but i ended up with a c. but shes a good teacher and she knows how to explain things so you understand. you put in the effort, you'll do fine.

She's definitely the best, if not one of the best Math teachers I ever had (and those are quite rare). Taking her class was a great experience. One thing I absolutely laud her for is her clarity. She's very clear and provides ample examples to help you understand the material. She grades fairly and even tries to lighten up the mood with jokes.

She was a very good teacher. Sometimes she had her moody days and got pissed at the class for little things. The tests were pretty hard, so you have to study a lot. She was very good at teaching concepts and tried to help whenever possible. I would reccomend her.

She is absolutely the BEST. She is so helpful. If you are stuck on a problem, you can see her at office hours, or she will clarify before beginning lecture (if she has time.) I think her class was super easy. Math is not easy for every body, but you can't be lazy! If you study the AWESOME notes she gives, you should pass the test no problem.

Calc2 is hard. Furmuly is a good prof but I did find the need to get a tutor at least 3 times thruout the semester. Her final was actually pretty fair. Her tests are harder than her quizzes & the hw. Go to her during office hrs for help! I struggled A LOT in this class but ended up with an A. Compared to other math teachers I think shes pretty good

This class requires so much homework, but I guess it is worth it, especially if your grade is borderline, the homework will help you out a lot. Attendance was not mandatory, but I must say it makes it really hard when you don't attend. Overall I liked her she was nice and helped out when I needed it most!

Honestly best professor I have had at pierce. She is amazing. I don't think there is another professor who explains math better tha she does. She is clear and is very helpful. It's fair when some teacher teaches well and tests are a bit hard than a teacher teaching terrible and tests being hard. I received an A cuz I really understood everything she taught in class. Professor Furmuly is an amazing professor! There is nothing unclear about this class; do the homework(you will have some every night), take good notes and be on time(she hates when you're late and she does participation problems in the first 10 minutes of class) and you will be fine. Go see her in her office whenever you can, it helps so much!

I took her online class this fall and she was extremely fair. She tries to meet you half way if you're struggling. I had a B+ in the class, but I screwed up the final and she scraped all my extra credit assignments together and I passed with a C. Gives lots of homework, quizzes and discussion homework, finish it all and you'll be fine.

She is great. She is funny and kind. She cares about her students undrestanding the material. She teaches really good. The class is not an easy class. I mean come on it's calc2! But if you practice and do the homework you will really understand everything. My advice would be take her and then go to her office hours. Email her your questions etc.

Professor Furmuly is by far the best math teacher I have ever had in my life. Literally. I was never great at math until I took this class. All the homework is online and easy (if you take great notes during her class, I wrote down everything she would write on the board). Tests shouldn't be hard if you never or rarely miss class. I took her for calc 1 last semester and it was by far my favorite math class ever. I learned SO much! I did not get an A, but I really learned! She's very organized and thorough. It is not an easy class, but you learn for sure! I enjoyed the lesson each day and liked her sense of humor and the care she has for her students.

I took her for calc3 this last semester and Ive never worked so hard for an A in any class! Thats because its a tough course, the content is out there! But, she awesome! Her notes are gold and she really explains well! I learned a TON! Shes got a sense of humor, I looked forward to every class regardless of how much torture it was. Ha ha :)

I loved Furmuly's class! I was hesitant to take Calculus but I ended up loving calculus and was constantly intrigued by the concepts. Furmuly is a nice and caring professor and it is clear that she wants her students to succeed. Professor Furmuly is a good math professor who knows the topic she teaches. She is not lenient though, choosing not to drop any tests or curb even if over half the class fails the test. Her tests are tough as well, yet she teaches the class well enough to where you will most likely do well (I stink at math, so it was frustrating beyond belief).

Online homework, exams and quizzes similar to notes and homework. If you understand and ask questions you will be okay. I came back to math after a long time and she made is easy.

This professor is great- I took her over a winter condensed course and while the class was hard and intensive because it was a winter course, she was very supportive and helpful. Her tests, quizzes, and even final are open note. There is lots of homework on an outside website you have to pay for. Beyond that, just attend class and take notes!

Wonderful professor! One of the best Math classes I've had for years! There was a lot of work (daily homework, weekly quizzes or tests) but Professor Furmuly is a wonderful lecturer. The lectures were clear and easy to copy and she would answer any question anyone had very well. The daily classes for 1h were much better than the 3h classes too.

She was a great professor although she was extremely tough. In my class, the average scores for each of her tests were around a high D or a low C. You had homework almost every day, although you had 5 attempts for each question so it wasn't too bad, but do not take this class unless you are prepared to work a lot.

Its very apparent that shes well versed in her field and cares about her students ability to understand the material on a conceptual level. She shows mercy on stupid mistakes especially earlier on in the semester but makes sure to point them out for further reference. If youre struggling see her during office hours. Shes made calc digestable.
