The class isn't easy but the teacher is as lenient as possible. Ethics is a philosophy course! If you couldn't understand him it isn't because he is speaking from another era but because philosophy (like political science, or any other subject) has its own vocabulary and words have different meanings than everyday english.

This class is easy as long as you pay attention. Despite his high points as a professor, he is very prejudiced. He'll try to tell you that Confucious wasn't a real philosopher and that there isn't a civilized society outside of European society. He explains his prejudice as "What the western world doesn't know, it doesn't accept as legitimate."

Wouldn't take again

3 books for a whole semester. Thinks you are philosopher and know everything about the topic. Jumps from chapter 5 to chapter 18 and doesn't even tell you. Talks about 100 things in a class. I was lost most of the time in the class because it's hard to keep track. He is rude and if you don't understand something you're dumb. He has no manners. DONT

Skip class? You won't pass.

Terrible teacher. Skips around the assigned books. Doesn't engage with the class WHATSOEVER. Half the class dropped. Expects you to think EXACTLY like him. Lectures are boring and hard to follow. Doesn't give enough time on the quizzes. Very rude with his comments on assignments and gives backhanded compliments. My advice: AVOID THIS CLASS

By far the worst teacher I have ever had in. He thinks He so smart everyone that has him know how annoying he is. He really should be a teacher. He make zero sense talks in big fancy words for no reason. If you get him good luck passing. Youll will not het higher than a C on any assignment even if you try your best. Honestly I hate him so much.

Would take again

This professor is outstanding, took his clases in late 70s at Texas Tech. It was one of the most influential courses of my life. The introductory course comprised completely of examining Plato's Republic. In ethics we read Aristotle's nomenclature. The essays or some of the most valuable and beloved experiences of my college education. Tyvm Ruben

This prof is disrespectful to his students. Hes knowledgeable on the subject, however, the lectures can be difficult to follow. There is no structure, only lectures. There is slight to no participation, he does not leave room for questions or discussions. Quizzes are vague and he expects a certain answer, tough grader. Dont take if you are freshmen

He will take up the entire class time lecturing with zero interactive elements. He speaks very quickly so you must take notes diligently!! He will bring his political opinions to the classroom and use them to supplement arguments, considering that he is a humanities/ethics professor, wouldn't it be unethical to share biased opinions?

This is the worst professor I have ever had. I don't even need the class for my major, and it is affecting my GPA. He is not understanding at all and does nothing but lecture. He writes all the notes on the board, and his handwriting is so bad. He will embarrass his students for no reason. Please, do not take him. not worth it!

Attendance is mandatory and only excusable by what he considers an extenuating circumstance. You can complete all of the assignments and earn a good grade, but if you are absent enough, you will fail the entire course. The classroom is miserable with this man, his lecture is an hour-long sentence and will leave your head spinning. He is not nice.

Professor flat out told my class that he wouldn't be teaching this class at an introductory level despite it being an introductory class. It's almost impossible to get an A on any assignments and he removes points on a whim. The grading system is (points earned/total points) so you won't get a good idea of your grade until too late into the semester

My main problem with him is I feel he is too particular with grading. I understand the subject material and appreciate that he goes over the content in class. But he does grade harshly and has too high expectations for an introductory class. If possible, try to get someone else.
