He is a great teacher. Very straight forward. He may be too much for some people. Overall I thought he was great! Lots to know about writting.

It's true he isn't organized very well and does talk like a punk off the street,but I did learn from him.He grades easier than others but if you don't make your point he deducts lots of points. The class is easier once you understand that whatever you write about isn't wrong as long as you have evidence to back it up.He likes personal experiences.

First of all this teacher is not prejudice against anybody, and secondly, yes, he is sometimes unclear. I think this teacher is reasonable and by the end of the semester, I knew how to write better papers. Trust me, he is not that bad, and I have seen much worse teachers, much worse.

I enjoyed this class. The format for writing is open and his grading is based on how clear you are in explaining your views. For our class he was always in class and usually on time. By the end of the class I was able to write a good essay in a very short time frame. It's not a bad class.

This teacher is very nice and helpful about the assignments he gives. Sometimes during class his lectures might not be clear, but stay after class and he will help you understand it crystal clear. By the end of the semster you will know how to write good essays.HE is not prejudice against no one!!! He just beats to a different sound than others.

Just wrapped up the summer session with Sandoval. He is a very intelligent professor and definitely makes you think. The best part of this class was getting 3 units taken care of in 6 weeks. Plus there was this hot chick in his class this summer *Hi Julie M ;-) I'd probably avoid his classes in the future but he certainly isn't the worst @ SRJC.

I had heard bad things about Sandoval before taking his class,but I didn't have a choice. I was very pleasantly surprised,I kept waiting for the class to get bad and it never did. He was clear, pretty interesting, and if you take his class in the summer and it's really easy. You only have a few essays,the best English class I've every taken

I LOVED Sandoval! I had low expectations because everyone has rated him so poorly, but he was awesome. So helpful, the class was fun, I actually learned something, and he teaches you how to write. I hate English, and I did have to work hard, but he was so helpful and nice! Class was a blast.

Sandoval is probably the most straight forward teacher i have ever had for english. He tells you EXACTLY how he wants the essay which makes it pretty difficult to get anything other than A's onthe essays. He cancelled like half of the classes which was awesome and i didnt have to do the final and i still got an A. Hands down the easiest class ever

he is a cool teacher and likes to joke around sometimes but he clearly explains what he wants done and if you dont understand he is always gladly to answer any questions. He does make you write alot but the good thing is that you rarely read. For some one that doesnt really mind writing then this class is a good one for you.

I'm not sure why his rating is so low, but Prof Sandoval was great. He taught me to write better and had a great impact on my future. I enjoyed his class and line fo thinking. Reading and attendence is mandatory. Buy into his line of thinking if only for a moment and you will get more out of the class.

sandoval is a nice guy. his class was pretty easy its a bunch of essays but he gives you enough time. sometimes is a little unclear of what he wants from you. his classes are SO boring because he just repeats over and over. but i would just text or leave. still did fine in the class. average class. but if you struggle in eglish id take someone else

Mr Sandoval is definitely tough, but I wouldn't say that he is horrible as others are saying. Yes, he does curse sometimes but frankly I was not offended by it. He is quite funny sometimes and he is fair in grading. The only thing I didn't like was that we had to read Pride and Prejudice, which has to be the most boring book I've ever read.

I LOVE HIM! Best english teacher. He is truly there to help you learn. A few times he didn't make it to class but it wasn't often. You do write a lot of essays but he gives you plenty of time and is very clear. He is really relatable and loves to learn about his students. Plus after every essay we have meeting which is basically a day off

I absolutely dreaded taking critical thinking, but I don't think I could have taken it with a better teacher. Sandoval is amazing at helping students to form effective critical arguments & was always willing to sit down and discuss your essay drafts prior to submission. A lot of writing, but it was meaningful writing.

I absolutely loved him. Not only is he a great teacher but he is also a great person. Very approachable with questions. There's a lot of essays but he gives you the opportunity to redo one for a better grade and you can have him review your essay before you turn it in. I found him to be insightful and helpful with my writing. Highly recommend.

Sandoval is a good teacher. I dont know why so many people are complaining. What other professor cancels class so he can meet individually with his students and explain to you while he grades your essay?! He lays exactly what he wants you to write and how he wants it done. His lectures are redundant, but the class is very easy if you can write.

ENG 1A Overall you write 4 papers 2 midterms and 1 final. Class is pretty easy and the homework is ALWAYS the same throughout the semester. Class goes by pretty fast. He cancels class just to meet with you and go over your paper, very helpful!

Recommend taking him during the summer. It's an easy summer course. 1 essay a week about 5 or so pages. He makes you write journals for hw but they take 10 minutes at most. Easy summer class. Learned a lot. Boring class though. EASY B and if you try then easy A.

The guy knows that this class will be the last Eng. class that most will take so he teaches his own style. He's a guy who has a lot of time on his hands. He has an opinion on everything and everything he says is sarcastic. He grades the paper in front of his students but he's pretty delicate about it. He grades fairly. Do the work. Get the grade.

A bit repetitive but he's great ! As long as you follow the essay instructions you can get a good grade on your essay. He cancels class often & his homework is super easy ! Best English teacher

Great teacher. cancels class to have independent conference of the essays. he repeats himself but it helps to remember what is do. take him to pass English

At first I hated this class, but he actually grows on you. It has been an interesting class, and I've learned a bunch.

I had my doubts at first and wanted to drop his class the first day of school, but he surprised me! He's a nice guy and wants his students to know how to write well and do good in his class. He repeats everything he had told us, because He knows how students forgets or come up with excuses. You'll like him because he's one hell of a funny dude.

Best teacher I've had at the JC. Super funny, and very helpful. I genuinely enjoyed taking his class.

This was my third English class with him. He's a funny, nice guy though he may not seem like it at first. If you don't understand something, just ask, he's more than willing to help! Expect to read and then write journals with quotes based on what you read. Go to class, do the homework and you'll pass. I greatly enjoyed the novels!

I enjoyed the class but I felt the lectures didn't exactly go over what was on the exams. Although he made the class interesting, especially when he went in depth in subjects. I thought the videos he showed were interesting(the video forms were distracting though I was constantly trying to find something to write and would lose focus in the video).
